did not expect to be as into this as I am but Good Dirt Pottery Studio has become my favorite thing…read moreI've discovered this year. went with a friend on a whim for a wheel throwing class and we were both completely hooked by the end of it. the instructor was patient and encouraging without making you feel like you were being babysat. there's something genuinely meditative about having your hands in clay for two hours and walking away with something you actually made. the studio itself is beautiful. bright, clean, thoughtfully designed. it photographs really well but it also just feels good to be in, which matters when you're trying to be creative. they do classes, open studio time, summer camps for kids, memberships if you want to go regularly. the options make it accessible whether you want to try it once or actually commit to learning the craft. Bullard Ave location is easy, parking is fine, and the staff is genuinely warm every time I've been in. Fresno honestly needed a place like this. somewhere to go that isn't a restaurant or a bar, that's actually good for your brain, and that you leave feeling proud of yourself. It's located in the same shopping center as Ovidios with plenty of parking and is pretty spacious. They have three rooms, each housing a different activity along with the front lobby. There is a spinning room and if you suddenly pictured the movie Ghost, so did I. It's actually a well lit room with natural sunlight. The room next to it is where all the masterpieces are cured. The last room has tables to work on your projects and is where we worked on creating our mugs. We were instructed on how to work the clay, then we went to work decorating and forming our mugs. They guided us through each step. They had several choices for finishes. I should have gone with Jade. Oh well my cup is still cute. The staff was amazing, helpful and so much fun! I didn't expect them to be involved with the community but they had a full calendar with school field trips, parties and company team building events. It was a pretty relaxing experience and now I might need a plate to go with my mug. One last thing, they will call/text you in 4 weeks to pick it up.

The value is comparable to other bead shops and it's so convenient if you just need a few beads to finish a project. I will say, the crystals are pricey, but they'd be close to the same price at pretty much any bead specific store and if you're just making a pair of earrings or a bracelet you can't go wrong shopping here!

I was invited by a friend to go visit succulent, vertical gardens and of course I said yes. Anything that has to do with succulents, I'm there. I love the set up and how easily it was to view all of their succulents. I love that they have classes and do private parties. Everyone I came in contact with there was super nice and knowledgeable about the different kinds of succulents and where they would grow best , how big they would get and the overall maintenance of all the plants. The prices were really reasonable. At first, I was just going to look, but then seven plans later, I came to the conclusion that I was actually there to shop. She speaks to you in a very dismissive tone and makes you feel unwelcome, I understand we are not members however to treat potential members this way is unprofessional. Karen made the atmosphere so gross and unwelcoming that we chose to simply leave the studio without glazing our pieces because she seemed to have an issue with everything we did. I wont ever consider joining or recommend this studio to anyone simply because of this unfortunate interaction with Karen.
