I had to get a business card just in case I wanted to use them for my daughter's first birthday. I was attempting a DIY party for my daughter because I wanted to save some money, but I was a complete mess and needed help. I decided to call ColorTree and this is what I have to say about them: Pros: -they work with your budget and try their best to cut down costs -you are able to customize everything: instead of catagorizing it into packages, they indicate the cost for each and every item, that way, you can go through the list and take out what you don't need and they will adjust accordingly -they provide almost everything so all you really have to do is tell them what you like/want. all I had to do was print 4x6 pictures (they provided the frames), and give them the prizes for guests (Terry, who I used as our MC, took care of the games and prizes for our guests!) I hired Color Tree Events to help decorate my daughter's dohl and I can't rave enough about how helpful Ivy, Joyce, and Terry were throughout the entire planning process! I'm a first time mom so I've never thrown a dohl before and was feeling so overwhelmed by just the idea of it. They invited me to their studio for a meeting and we hammered out a lot of the planning together in person and it was great! We discussed different styles (traditional, fusion, modern) and they showed me a few photos of their past events so that I could get a feel for what I envisioned for mine. I chose to go with a traditional fusion theme and it was great because the decorations were not only beautiful, but they were all really elaborate and traditional items that you couldn't get from other party planners -- Trust me, I've done the research! We ran through details of what items I wanted featured at the main dohl table, the photo table, and the welcome table. We discussed budget and I really appreciated their best efforts to stay as close to my budget as possible while providing all the services and decorations I needed. After our meeting, I felt such a weight off my shoulders and suddenly my anxiety about this dohl had turned into joy and excitement. In the weeks leading up to the event, my guest list had grown and some of my plans had changed because of it. Can I just say... THEY WERE AMAZING?!?! The ladies, Ivy and Joyce, were such a sweethearts! I emailed them at first, then had initial meeting over the phone... and then we had face to face meeting twice. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of my daughter's dohl party. I was connected with this company through a partner of theirs and my expectations were met right away. Everything was beautiful and my guests couldn't stop complimenting the decor and how "put together" everything was. As the host of the party, those were music to my ears. okay korean moms. i just had my sons dohl this past weekend. dohl (korean first birthday) planning is the worst stress ever. maybe worse than a wedding. as soon as my baby boy turned 6 months, i pannicked. my friend referred me to the dohl planner she had used, color tree event. i contacted them right away and my panic disappeared after one meeting. they are the most friendly sweetest ppl who helped calm my crazy nerves about the planning. they have packages and will do EVERYTHING for you as soon as you figure out your venue. they'll even help suggest different reasonable priced venues for you. decor/ head table- I WAS EXCEPTIONALLY PICKY ABOUT MY HEAD TABLE. my head table was customized to what i wanted (because im so damn picky and particular on random things) so it cost a little more. but if you use what they have, its a very good price. they set up the backdrop and i used their garland and my sons name in a gold cutout for the backdrop. grace (who came on the day of) has a great eye for making it all set up and pretty and shes super nice. i brought some of my own decor (which i had no idea wat to do w) and she placed everything so perfectly i was blown away by my head table. BLOWN AWAY. cake-they provide contacts to a cake person. but i used someone i already know. but color tree provided a cute cake topper, a "one" cutout in gold. matched perfectly. flowers- you can get fresh flowers through flower ppl that they know, or you can use the fake flowers they already have. however, my friend did my flowers. welcome table- super cute setup of the welcome table w the raffle for the doljabi game. made it very cute w the colors i had wanted. another table w pics of my son- it was designed so much more artsy and cute than i had expected. was very pleased. balloon guy- i wanted a balloon guy and terry referred me two diff ppl. the person i went w was A HIT. all my momma friends were asking me for his contact number. balloon decor- they do watever balloon decor you want. but i didnt include that in my package. desserts- they have a desserts package and can do an awesome dessert table for you, but i didnt include that. hanbok- i rented a super cute hanbok from them thats more in style these days for a great price. cuz other places have TACKY UNPRETTY ones. okay, sorry, but thats one thing im super particular about. terry and grace- when i arrived to setup and get ready for my sons party, terry and grace were already there. i requested that they stay and have dinner and hang out. but they went above and beyond. terry was extremely nice and helpful throughout the entire party helping me get through each event from, church service to dinner to balloon guy time to doljabi time to birthday cake time. and grace helped so much as well throughout, fixing and setting up the decoration pieces i had brought on my own. they are extremely nice and reliable and quick and smart ppl. theyve done a bajillion dohls. Obviously, I was happy with their services the first time, which was why I used them again, but I have to say that in the 1.5 years in between our daughters' dohls, they have really stepped it up! As a mom of twin babies, I did not have the time nor the energy to plan a big birthday party for 100 people. So we decided to hire Terry and Ivy, who are owners and operators, at Color Tree Event.
