This rating is purely for the food and the facilities I saw when visiting Colorado Golf Club... My husband and I toured this club and it was truly stunning and secluded. My husband fell in love with the course and the pool off to the left of the club house looked super clean and fun! We wound up having lunch in the club house and it DID NOT disappoint. In fact, my husband, who is the pickiest eater EVER, rated his burger and fries a 10/10!!!! That's absolutely UNHEARD OF! As for my food, it was probably a 9/10 (I got the salmon salad and crispy wings). The only reason why it wasn't a 10/10 is because the salmon on the salad was pretty tiny! Over all, great experience though... And we definitely hope to be back! read more

For those who want a golf outing or event with a mix of ok golfers and people who have never played golf before, try an executive course or putt putt golf as it may be better suited to your social necessities. This is a seriously demanding course of professional golf skill and patience. Which is why the Solheim Cup was held here! A company outing looking for drunk fun and social atmosphere may find some ambiguity as to what a true golf establishment really means. Hence, your negative experience not being able to find your sub par guests out there golfing (hint: they are all trying to find their balls in the brush!). Now, if your here for a major event, just walking around trying to see as many players as you can be a bit exhausting. Pick a group and follow it! Also, the solheim cup is not the masters! There is no need to destroy the beautiful landscape of the course just so you can plop your butt in a seat all day in grand stands. If this is what you desire then head to AZ for the waste management tournament. The previous (not so good reviews) have nothing to do with the actual play of the course itself and subsequently those people's ability to play such a difficult course and neither of them played the course from what I read. As a golfer I would rather read about the playability of the course and its difficulty rather than someone who was huffing and puffing trying to keep up with watching the pros at tournament there. If you really want to watch a golf tournament get a TV and stay home. As for the SPECTATOR, who has obviously never played this course and most likely never will, stick to the events like high school championships or a collegiate regional. You will be sure to get around and find parking just fine! read more

The best *PLAYERS* golf course in Colorado. Not for hackers. This is by far the best course in Colorado from a players standpoint. Usually in perfect shape, there are none better than CGC in the state of Colorado. Walkable, scoreable but never easy, this place will make you a better player. The practice facilities are phenomenal along with a world class par 3 course. Food is fantastic, all sorts of great amenities including cottages for out of towners and a swimming pool. This place really makes you appreciate TRUE Colorado views and wildlife. If the course is too difficult for you, play the ladies tees, stop complaining about it and start practicing more... hacks. read more

Don't listen to others posting about their experience at the Solheim Cup. First off, it was a much hotter weekend than normal, and much like the Ryder Cup, the Solheim is a different kind of tournament with a different atmosphere. Tournament food is also no representation of what actual food at the club tastes like. Also anytime there is a tournament at a private club, parking will be an issue, and is actually run by the PGA and not the club. Having been a member and having had my wedding there, I feel as if I am plenty qualified to write a review for Colorado Golf Club. The Clubhouse is not only one of the best in Denver, but arguably in the nation. Chef Bob is fantastic, not only did he create some great food choices for our wedding, but the menu each night never disappoints. Top notch food made and served by employees who care about the club. The golf course is challenging, beautiful, and one of the best I have played in Colorado. It is a joy to play each time that I am able to get out there. The driving range has a perfect view of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains. To those complaining about the course layout for watching tournaments, they are clearly upset about the fact that they may have a lot of walking to do. Yes, it is a course that is 7,400+ but it allows for some amazing and exciting play for the pros and yourself that is not matched in the state. Cherry Hills is a nice course, but way too short to provide the excitement it did back in the day. There is a reason that the PGA was interested in purchasing the club like they did Valhalla when it was facing financial troubles. It is definitely on their radar and after a successful Senior PGA Championship, you should expect to see a PGA Championship in the works before long. Yes the Club is still relatively new, so not all the lots are built on and a fitness center/pool/spa is in the blueprint stage, but it has a lot going for it and there is a reason it has received national acclaim since it began. So to sum it up, don't trust a review written by someone who went to one of the PGAs rowdier tournaments on an above average temperature weekend, trust a review written by someone who has been to Colorado Golf Club several times for tournaments, his own wedding, and just for a round of golf and dinner. If you ever get the opportunity to golf or have dinner with a member at this course, take it. And if you are lucky enough to be invited to become a member, do not let the opportunity pass you by. read more

I've been to the Colorado Golf Club on 2 occasions and haven't been impressed either time.. It's ridiculously expensive and not all the swanky! The club house at Pradera or even the Pinery far outshines this place and there's zero parking. The course is gorgeous and I did enjoy watching the Solheim Cup but with little shade and sweltering heat unless you were able to fork out the big bucks for the special tickets you couldn't stay long. The food I've had there was nothing I would go back for either. They really need to step up their game to attract the super elite clientele I assume they are looking for. read more

If I could give this course less than 1 star, I would. This is not a course to have an event. There is no easy way to get around the course and watch. The course looks like an interesting course to play but there are some big deficiencies like only 1 drinking fountain and restroom on the course. I was here for the solheim cup and compared to Rich Harvest Farms, CGC was a spectator disaster. Not enough grandstands, fairway crossing, water, clean restrooms, jumbo screen TVs, easy access to the holes, and knowledgeable employees who care about customer service. The Ping Pavillion restrooms were atrocious and filthy, no soap, no toilet paper, not enough stalls, not clean or pumped. everyday the toilets were full and the ripe smell was offensive 200 feet away. Disgusting. I will never come here again. read more

This is my favorite place to play and an outstanding golf experience! I was impressed from the moment the valet took my car. CGC has an unbelievable locker room and staff, a great practice area, and the championship golf course is one of the best I have ever played! We had excellent caddies...what a treat walking this course. It is one of Coore / Crenshaw's finest and I can see why it is rated #33 in the U.S. for modern golf courses. After our round, the member's grill was the perfect way to finish off the day with a special meal from Chef Bob as we enjoyed great views of the front range. I hope to be able to do this again soon! read more

BEST in Denver area. Yep I said it. Better than Broad, better than Castle, better than Sanctuary and crushes every "reg" course out there. This is simply one of the best clubs in the country. The golf course designed by Coore&Crenshaw is a masterpiece. The staff is incredibly professional and friendly and the club is a very good value for membership. The real estate is unmatched in the market with sweeping views, privacy, trees and large lot sizes. The homes are both quality and tasteful. the whole place is first rate ! read more

This is a Solheim Cup review. We attend a lot of LPGA and PGA tournaments. We have attended U.S.Opens, Masters, Ryder Cups, Tour Championships, and many non-major events. By far, this is the WORST event we have attended from an organization and logistics standpoint. Some specifics: *On Wednesday when we arrived we asked 5 people up in the entry area where the first tee was before someone could tell us. We would have checked the pairing sheet, but no one could tell us where they were. A few didn't seem to know what a paring sheet was. *At the beginning of the day Friday, the parking staff was not even onsite when the first buses were leaving. It was a free-for-all to figure where to park in near darkness - luckily the ball field spotlights were on. Traffic control non-existent and a disaster. *The staff that searches bags and checks before the buses didn't even seem to know that the gates opened at 6:00 and were totally unorganized. *When leaving Wednesday we asked what time the buses would start Thursday and got something like "I think probably about 7:00." When I told them the gates opened at 7:00, the answer changed to "probably 6:45". I then concluded they were clueless and used my best judgment. *At the front gate Friday, there were no scanners. The lady at the gate was smiling and welcoming folks and inviting them in without checking tickets. Actually this was an improvement as only half of our tickets have been able to be read by the scanners each day - great technology. *The concessions opened today with no breakfast sandwiches for over an hour and no brewed coffee. Didn't you think you would have an early crowd for Opening Day! If you are not going to let us bring food in, then provide us more than a banana and some chips. *We were turned away from the PING Pavilion by order of the Fire Marshal due to crowd size. We were informed by the event security folks that the Pavilion was oversold. I have asked American Express to dispute my tickets for the difference between the PING ticket price and Grounds access. *No hamburgers at the main concession area. Black Bean burgers - are you kidding? WORST, by far, of any golf event I have ever attended. A shame for such a prominent event. read more

I live across the street and never thought I would get to play this wonderful Golf Course. I was invited to play in the Parker Chamber Tournament and I must say this Golf Course is super fantastic and I can only hope that I get invited to play there again sometime. We played from the forward tees so it was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I have played Kapalua a few times and I would have to say that I like this course as much if not a little better. Our team took second place at the Tournament and I won a gift card but I don't know if I will ever be able to get in to spend it. Maybe I will keep it as a great memory of having the honor of playing this wonderful Course. read more
