Regardless of the fact that we did not see this coming, extended family home care continued to bill for 2 weeks worth of services which was about 1,200+ only because they were not notified of cancelling services. We had two other home care agencies providing services and neither one of them had this unethical billing policy. On top of that, some of the caregivers did not seem to provide quality care. And also had inconsistent caregiving services, with some cancelling last minute or did not even had the right skill level to care for my mother.

A few days later I saw their several 1 star reviews here on Yelp all disappear and only 2 reviews remained. One 1 star and one 5 star. The 1 stars consistently had a theme of being overcharged or charged for things that never performed. So when setting up the paperwork for their services I made sure it was not on auto payment. To dis-incentivize from paying by check they required some crazy amount upfront as a deposit. Check was the preferred payment but they have a $150 service fee to even start service. They insisted it be paid before anything started, like they didn't trust me to pay it, and offered check and credit cards as payment options. I offered to meet her with the check the morning of the first day of service, but she couldn't meet so i offered to pay by credit card, but to please send me an invoice or request for payment for the $150 (assumably with info of how to provide the credit card payment). After thinking about it more, paying by credit card seemed safer since I saw there were so many issues with others paying for services not executed, but she refused to send an "invoice" and after which she said what was requested is not in their scope. I asked specifically what was not in scope but several months later and still no response. Each Visiting Angels is a franchise so you will get totally different teams with each location. I remember years ago they were so messed up they didn't even return calls for a long time, and when they did they were still super disorganized. I hope if in my lifetime I get a visiting angel some day, that it isn't a revenue driven one, which is the opposite of what an angel is all about. Some may have great experiences with them, but just the upfront process of them being super nice sales people quickly turned into craziness on a dime. Perhaps I dodged a bullet and just saved myself a huge nightmare of a future situation. So perhaps I should feel very lucky. I honestly, with two different bad situations, think this organization is off my list for any considerations ever, and recommend you dig further to ensure they are a "match" for what you are looking for. At $60/an hour for custom care (-at a facility) vs your home) and $47/hr for in home companionship, they seem a bit pricey to me since none are skilled and am sure many are not US Citizens. Before that time, we experienced visits from Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists. The care and support was outstanding, always provided in a caring and loving manner. I cannot imagine any way to make the care we experienced any better. The care givers at Namaste along with a volunteer support program provided not only for my wife's physical needs and comfort, but for several months in the end provided hand written notes, cards, and thoughtful personalized greetings. Amazingly, many of these came at "just the right time" to lift our spirits and make us feel people cared. I had a knee replacement in October of 2024. My doctor's office set me up with Namaste. I received a call that I was in network otherwise I would not have used their service. Their service was OK. Their home health PT's were nice. Over a year later I get a bill for the full price. I maxed out my insurance deductible in 2024 so I should not have gotten a bill. Blue Cross informed me I was never in network. When I called they mentioned they had some office issues but would check into it as they agreed I would have been counseled if not in network. They didn't call back. I called again a few months later because I am a health care worker and know insurance issues take a while. Don't get a call back. Call again and was told once more they would review it. This was last November. Never hear anything more until today when I received another bill in the mail. Every time I called the manager is never in the office. Their customer service is horrendous and it sucks enough having to deal with this after a knee replacement let alone a serious life issue. I would complete avoid this place.

But Lucerito "Lucy" Dominquez is by far the rudest person, to know she's a reflection of the company is stomach turning to say the least! I initially called in for my Saturday 1/10 & Sunday 1/11 shifts on Thursday 1/8 due to my vehicle catching fire. Although my replacement parts arrived early on Thursday 1/8/26 I wasn't going to have my vehicle repaired in time. To have Kelly from the office call me back Friday 1/9/26 and state they're extremely short staffed, can't find anyone to cover my shifts and need me to be there. She then expressed she'd see about getting me an Uber & call me back. No call back ever happened. So I called around 5:07pm Friday 1/9 after I got off my full time job to see what's going on. Since my Saturday shift started at 7am. I spoke to Lucy who stated she'd call me back once she finds the email explaining the details of the game plan for my shift. I never received a call back, text, email, etc. I go to bed & don't think anything about my shift since I initially called in and have the supporting documents. She calls & wakes me up this morning Saturday 1/10/26 at 6:13am with an attitude talking about to call the office & let her know when I'm ready to head to work, so they can order an Uber for me. I reminded her again, even though she's apart of scheduling that my shift starts at 7am and she said she'd call me back last night & never did. Then with an attitude she states I NEED to make my shift! I re-explain the whole situation to her & tell her I don't need her attitude first thing in the morning, especially since she just woke me up and my shift is suppose to start at 7am. Also to remember this is my part time job & they need me due to them being short staffed. So she can save her attitude especially since she just woke me up & its too early in the morning.
