All working actors should have ColorWorks on speed dial, because they'll make your headshots look great. Standard touchups, reasonably priced - no weird timed bait-and-switch like Reproductions. And when it comes to 8x10s, postcards and business cards, they can't be beat. They'll do speed turnarounds too. I like that CW is a small independent business that remembers me when I contact them for another order, and I love that their office is in midtown so I can pick up my order. That said, my orders are always on the small side, so I have to check in with them and make sure the printing process hasn't hit a snag, because they may or may not call me about it. I will follow Colorworks wherever they go. They used to be at another location and with the kind of commitment they've shown for this work - I can't trade them for anything! You make an appointment with Rob : to meet with Joe or Dan. And that personal attention is valuable. They sit with you and work with you. They never over do their retouching. Their work is natural and subtle, making finishing touches to your photograph that you yourself wouldn't have noticed! Colorworks printing service is fantastic: They show you a sample right while you wait. And your prints are done sooner than most places. The quality is sharp - the paper is durable. Excellent service, quick, professional and reasonably priced reprints. Their work is quality and their employees are so helpful and understanding. Minus one star because they only have one finish for headshot reprints and it's not as glossy as I'd like. Overall the price is right and they turn jobs around quickly, which is nice. I WISH I could give these guys more than 5 stars...I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE THEM! I mean I heart them completely. It's so rare here in NYC where you go some place for business and they just make you feel like family. Joe and Rob are so damn amazing! They really care about actors and put SO much positive energy and time into making sure your headshot looks it's absolute best. And they are SO reasonably priced but more than that, they are part of team you. And they REMEMBER you ( unlike other places whom I shall absolutely name PRECISION F U PHOTOS!) Great place!! I was lucky enough to walk in (though they prefer appointments) and sat with Joe while he did some basic adjustments to the shot and showed me exactly what additional retouching he would do ($45). Then e-mailed me the shot two days later (I actually live in Boston), made the extra adjustments I requested and I trusted them--without a test print. No set-up fee, 100 shots for $105--$89 for reorders. Excellent quality! Nice HEAVY paper that I could actually print my résumé on the back of if I wanted to! I HIGHLY recommend them! I am very shocked to say the least. I paid $45 for the retouching of a headshot, and what I received was truly something low quality that was really not expecting. I don't understand where all the other 5 star reviews are coming from. I even sent them two emails and haven't received a response. I sent those emails over 3 weeks ago. They will just stop responding to your emails if you do not like their work. I can never recommend a company such as this one to any of my photographer friends. Hope they get their act together. read more

I wanted to update a previous review of Colorworks because I am so touched by recent communication with them.... Last week, 2 days prior to Christmas, I emailed them with a request to photoshop and print a photograph (gift for friends) in large format. Chris, the studio manager, quickly replied, saying that they were closing within an hour for the holidays and would be unable to process my request. He added though, that he'd taken the liberty to fix the photo for me, and suggested a self-printing lab where I could print my picture that afternoon. I was so touched and speechless that he would go through the effort of fixing my photo and replying to my request, when they were already closing for business, especially knowing that they wouldn't be making anything in return for the work. I love that these guys are so hard-working and caring. They put so much love into their work and it really shows. I can't wait to see the prints of my new headshots next month. The best reproduction lab in NYC by far! These guys are so attentive and helpful, it sucks that it took me some years to find out about them. I Ordered some headshots and postcards and had the fastest service ever. Rob emailed me back pronto, and my order was done with minimal turnaround time. He even provided me with some suggestions to make my shots and postcards stand out. When I picked them up I realized id made a mistake on my order, and he was quick to offer to fix it sans charge. My prints came out beautifully, needless to say. Can't speak highly of these guys and their professionalism. read more

This is my first experience with Colorworks... having had new photos done after a number of years.. I needed very specific retouching... they were amazing! The owner, Joe Barna, spent a lot of time getting it just right, until I was happy with it.. no where else can you get this kind of service in New York City!.
