I stumbled upon this establishment while traveling in MO. It was close to my hotel and seemed like a better option than fast food. I got here around 8pm on a Sunday. It was empty, I think there were maybe 6 people between dining and bar. Way more workers than customers. I was seated right away and asked if I wanted peanuts, I said yes. They give you two buckets, one with peanuts and one for shells. I was seated and immediately a waitress was here asking what I wanted to drink. I had a Yuengling. About 90 seconds later she asked for my order, I was ready so all good. Placed my order and she brought me out a basket of bread with butter. The bread was good, nice and warm, the butter was just regular butter no extra flavor, which is fine. My main course came out in 9 mins and 55 secs. It seemed quicker but I timed it. Sooooo I had ordered my steak medium. I tend to cut from the outside in, as I cut into it, it was a little rarer then I usually like my steaks. But it was ok, the odd thing was, as I kept cutting inward the more the steak was cooked. The middle was actually well done, never seen that. The flavor.... Not a fan, at first it was just very peppery, but the sauce got spicy, it was a weird combination. For a ribeye the steak was very thin. The sides were very good, the mashed potatoes I very much enjoyed. And the mac n cheese was actually my favorite thing I tried. It was very cheesy and full of flavor. Overall it was a decent meal. I may or may not go back the next time I'm in the area. I may try something else since I don't get out here often. read more

The server was horrible. We went in. Order the appetizer and 2 steaks. The onion blossom came out room temp and the petals were overdone from sitting under the warmer with the 2 salads and rolls at once. 45 min after we ordered we were still sitting without our steaks. We stopped in for lunch while traveling through MO. Stopped in simply based on the 'food at the next exit' sign because my husband wanted something other than fast food! We've had enough of that while traveling. We were immediately greeted with a smile. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time we were there... only a handful of tables were occupied. Ella, our waitress arrived to the table promptly and took our order. We had peanuts to hold us over until the meals arrived, too! I ordered pasta Alfredo with chicken. This is usually my go-to dish in restaurants where I don't particularly like the menu. I was so hungry and looking forward to having this to eat because I hadn't eaten to this point in the day. The chicken just didn't taste quite right to me. I feel like it was dark meat chicken and I'm not a fan! The pasta Alfredo was amazing ... just not the chicken in the dish today! My husband had the chicken & rib plate and he loved every bite of it. He tried all the sauces and mentioned that the apple and sweet BBQ sauces were really good. Our waitress only came back to the table to drop off a refill of my husband's drink. She never inquired about our food. She seemed to personally know the people at the table behind us and was talking with them (which isn't an issue to us) and could've easily checked in while talking to them. Despite not being checked on too much, the food was pretty good; the atmosphere was good (no loud music/chaos like a lot of chain restaurants;) and it was definitely clean! We have eaten at this restaurant for years. When we ate here on New Year's Eve the person who took our name for a table wrote down the wrong name. They called the mistake name. 30 minutes we checked on our status to find we were not on the list. When we finally got to a table we found that they were out of the rolls they usually bring to the table. We were also informed that they were out of baked sweet potatoes after we ordered. My husband, daughter, and I ate at Colton's because we had such a fantastic experience at another of their restaurants some time ago, and we anticipated a fantastic meal after driving all day. It took about 10 minutes to be seated, which was fine. We ordered about 7:20, nothing fancy. Daughter had Alfredo pasta with chicken, hubby ordered a chicken Caesar, and I ordered boneless wings and a side Caesar. 45 minutes later, I was still waiting on my boneless wings and my family had finished their meal. If you don't mind drinking out of a toilet, then this place is just the place for you. The food is terrible and the service is worse. We ordered two catfish dinners to go, the catfish was so so but instead of catfish we received nuggets instead, The broccoli was mushy, we got three rolls instead of four, the hush puppies were burnt to a crisp and the cole slaw i believe was spoiled. We wound up throwing everything but the nuggets in the trash. For $37.00 +tax+ tip we feel like we got robbed. We won't EVER go back to Coltons In Farmington, MO again. read more

Super busy! I opted to sit at the bar. :) and was able to be sat and waited on immediately. Christian was an absolutely amazing server! I ordered the chop steak my sides were wedge salad and loaded baked potato. The salad itself was a meal, don't get me wrong I still eat most of my potato and chop steak. My tea was full the entire time :-) which we all know is a major point for me, the food was prepared exactly as I requested - I have a copy of the gluten-free menu which is super helpful. Was visiting Missouri and everyone was talking about this place. (I had also saved it on a would like to try it list. ) I'm glad I did! Man oh man it's been a while since I've had fried pickles. And this bloomed onion? It tasted better than outback and Texas roadhouse! I said what I said! Their sauces were better as well! I couldn't get enough of them!!! The only thing that disappointed me were the nachos. I got nachos at almost every restaurant I went to in Missouri and no one could do it right. Cheese was cold toppings had no seasoning. Everything was a no --the only thing I liked was that the chips were the thin chips. Anyway, nachos aside, everything else was fantastic! Another critical feedback: the wait staff, except for my waitress, hmm don't know how to explain a feeling--like, couldn't be bothered? like they were annoyed that I was even there! Last night my family and I had dinner at the Colton's in Farmington. They weren't super busy, we were seated right away. The waitress came right out, took our drink orders and brought them out quickly. My husband and I both ordered the country fried steak (they were amazing). I ordered a side salad (no cheese) that had to go back, but they took care of it straight away. Our son had the steak and shrimp, he said that both were good. I have eaten at many different restaurants in my life. I am here to tell you that I will NEVER EVER eat at this place again. My wife ordered a 10-ounce steak well done with a sweet potato. The steak was rare, and she was served a baked potato that was not fully cooked. I ordered a Texas salad. The waiter came back to the table and said that the salad came with shrimp or steak, so I picked the shrimp. Once I got the bill, I was charged for the shrimp. The waiter said that he made a mistake but would not take the $7.00 off for the shrimp. I did pay the bill, and we departed. I did not want to make a fuzz about it since we did get the food. Went to Colton's with the wife this past weekend. I've been there before and was pleased with the food and service. However, I tried the T-Bone and was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!! It came out looking like something from the cheap section at Walmart. On the menu it said it was their "Largest Steak" Sure, it covered the plate, but it was barely 1/2 inch thick! I ordered it medium rare. But since it was only 1/2 thick, most of it was well done. My wife's steak looked great. However, mine looked something from Waffle House. I've only been to Colton's a handful of times and I'm starting to see why. The first time I went, the waiter argued with me about how I wanted my steak cooked. This time, my cesar salad came out looking pretty rough. The leaves were wilted, brown, and just bad looking. When I asked the waitress about it she said, "oh I can make another one for you." I said no and preceded to ask her why a salad this bad was served in the first place and her response was, "I don't eat a lot of salad to know how it's supposed to look." While visiting form out of state we had two different family members tell us to eat here so we did. Twice. Lol. Overall, it was pretty good. We ordered a lot of different foods and apps. The favorites were the chicken fingers, which everyone loved, and the cheese sticks app. The steak was overcooked twice. But still good. Very large portions, along with delicious bread rolls meant everyone was stuffed. The price worked out to about $20 a person with drinks and apps. Not terrible. Service was good both times. Seems like the last couple of times we went to Colton's, the food was not as good as it was in the past, orders were not correct for all of our party either. My husband accidentally left his cell phone on the table. We traced it to Colton's through the Find My iPHONE APP. When we called the restaurant, they couldn't find it. Manager said no one turned it in. He claimed their employees are very good at turning in lost items. So did another guest pocket the phone, or maybe at least one employee isn't as honest as the manager claims. That was a pretty costly dinner by the time we had to replace his iPhone. Hopefully these two visits were just a fluke. We miss the "old" Colton's. We haven't been back since, and made the drive to Texas Roadhouse in Festus instead. read more

First time visit. I thought of going to 12 West in Farmington Mo first then decided to come to your Restaurant. The food and service was very good, but you can't enjoy it because the AC is blowing so much cold air I sat there freezing and had goosebumps, all through my meal. If I had known I would of brought a jacket with me. Since my first visit not the best I dont know if I will give you another chance. You only received one side with entree and it was small for the price. But the worst was being uncomfortable while trying to enjoy the food. This was May 17th. 2023. As he and I were sitting there in a 2 person booth in front of the Liquor Bar,waiting on our food, we heard some uncalled for remarks come from Leslie... the mangers mouth,as a hard working little waitress gal was walking thru the bar area, to check on her table.. I don't personal know either manager nor waitress But I'll tell you this much, I have kids right around the waitress age, and their hard workers they definitely know what a Dollar is... My husband and I ate here Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:30 pm for a late lunch heading home to Wisconsin. It was busy but not lunch time busy. We were greeted, seated and waitress "Nautica" checked in right away. We ordered drinks from the bar and viewed the menu till she came back. Hubby ordered onion tangles appetizer, lunch catfish with mac n cheese. I ordered ribs & catfish, smashed potatoes and green beans. The onion tangles, four Bar B Que sauces and fresh rolls with butter were delivered quickly plus Nautica timed perfectly if we needed another drink. Our meals looked and tasted great, catfish lightly breaded and hot, my ribs with perfect dry rub coating, also enjoyed the different Bar B Que sauce choices. Nice portions which went to go for supper at the hotel. We enjoyed our food and our service even more. Prices were reasonable too. Nautica did what a good wait staff should, friendly and super efficient taking note of where we were in our meal to check if drinks were needed.
