Wow. Glad we did a search and found the Riverside Grill -- we all loved our lunch. It was clearly a locals place (off major highways and all) and the food is freshly made in-house which is so uncommon now. I asked what they do best and the waitress confidently recommended catfish and proceeded to talk about the breading and all. A woman at a nearby table said "it's so good" and held up a piece to take a bite. I was sold and the crunch of the breading was awesome and the fish was amazing! The hand cut fries were great too. And because I needed more fried food, I ordered a side of fried pickles. Yum with ranch! My sister had the ribeye sandwich and wouldn't stop talking about how awesome it was. She loved everything about it. Made each of us try it. Talked about the marinade, the fresh mushrooms that were sauted and all the things. And the onion rings were so good she gushed. My brother-in-law had a brisket pastrami that he loved. We had a great server who was friendly, quick and knew the place inside and out! Food was pretty decent , table was clean and it had a diner vibe. Service was not very good tbh , place wasn't crowded when I came in only a few customers, took a bit before the waitress brought me a menu took awhile more before she came and took my order. She didn't bother checking on me for coffee refill ect I got tired of waiting to pay and walked up to counter to see if I could pay and leave. Had to wait for her and the cook till they finished arguing with another patron about a sandwich wrap. Took a few more minutes to get her to ring me up. The cook seemed irritated and told the lady "I'll remake it" If it was me seeing how annoyed he was I wouldn't eat that wrap. I won't be going back , my omelet was decent and would rate a 4 star but the service was horrible. My friend and I stopped here to have breakfast before an appointment. Because of my friend's fibromyalgia we sat at a table with an upholstered booth that was disgustingly filthy. I ordered corn beef and hash with rye bread. It was plateful of hash browns with some chopped up slivers of corn beef mixed in. The corn beef was so dry it was more like corn beef jerky. I ate the eggs that came with it and left most of the corn beef hash. The rye bread would have been good except that it was very soggy. It was as if it had been thickly spread with some type of margarine that was mostly water. My friend ordered French toast that was also dry. The service wasn't friendly. The interior of the building is run down and in desperate need of updating. read more

We drove over from New Iberia for dinner and it was worth the drive. The setting by the river is relaxing and the food was great.

Excellent food and prices. The fried mushroom app was delicious. I ordered the cod Special. The fish was crispy and fresh. My husband got the avocado burger and it was huge. We came in for a late lunch, and noticed they were short on help. I saw where they kept the menus, so I grabbed three for our table since it was our first visit. Our server turned out to be the dishwasher,who was very friendly and made us feel right at home. The lunch special was meatloaf which was great. After the rush had settled down, the owner came to ask how our meal was. He ended up taking a seat, and we had a good visit. I will definitely be going back soon. Little hole in the wall with the absolute BEST frickles I have had in this area. The house made ranch sends them right over the top! The burgers are just awesome. No preformed patty pulled from a freezer here. These are fresh, delicious burgers cooked to order. The fries are hand cut, so if you like them crispy I would not recommend them. We found this little gem on our way back to STL from the state parks. We came in with a larger group, and we were very pleased with the amazing friendly service and delicious food. The have a variety in the menu so everyone in our group was happy. For appetizers, we recommend the onion rings and jalapeño poppers. Yummy! As for the main menu, there are so many options. From our group, delicious burgers, excellent pancakes and chicken with waffles and the breaded catfish was amazing! Strongly recommend! We'll definitely go back if we're in the area again! read more

I really love this place. The service is always outstanding and the food is amazing. I took my parents there again they love this place. When we left yesterday my Mom let the owner know that there is an empty building in Fredericktown if he ever want to open another restaurant. To me that says a lot about a place. read more
