I really hate that I have to update my review in a negative way but I have to be honest. I will start by saying that Eddie is super super nice and friendly HOWEVER he does not thoroughly explain what is going on with my car. He initially did body work to my car, which I was VERY happy with, but just days later, my splash shield light came on, then my check engine. I am not necessarily saying they caused this (can't confirm they didn't either, as they were the only ones who worked on my car). So I took my car back shortly after, and Eddie said he did the diagnostics for free. He then charged me for an oil change (that I didn't need at the time). I emailed Eddie asking for my diagnostic results, which he said he would get to me, but he never did. I had to take my car somewhere else, and it turned out to be a simple sensor issue that they promptly fixed, and I haven't had an issue since. read more

TLDR; Eddie was highly unprofessional during this process, ignoring my concerns and making light of the situation. Screenshots attached. I needed a compressor replaced and needed it quickly as I'm active duty Army and was on leave the next week to drive my family down to South Carolina. Despite multiple promises over 4 days that my car would be ready in time, it was not. I had to spend a lot of money on a rental vehicle and my car now has problems it didn't have before. On 10 July I called CACC to say my A/C was blowing hot air. Eddie said to head over and I'd be seen right away. The address on Yelp was incorrect (it was their old address 15 mins away). When I made it to the right building they acted like it was weird to get a walk in, they didn't know how much an estimate costs and seemed not to know what to do with me. I should've left then and I'll regret not doing so forever. I said I needed to be seen immediately because I'm going out of town soon, so if they didn't have time I would need to go somewhere else. This is the first time they lied to me. The receptionist kept telling me the mechanics couldn't figure out what was wrong. This went on for two hours. Finally she says I need a new compressor (it wasn't getting any power)- that is the very first thing you would look at for a broken A/C so that tells me they were lying to me that they were looking at it just to keep me in the shop. She promises they can get the part the next morning and have it ready for me by late 11 July. After some back and forth she offered to let me take one of their vehicles for the day, but when I got inside it was filled with trash, loose change, and the dash light was on. I gave the keys back right away. Every day for the next 4 days they told me it would be ready the next day. Continued lies about OTHER issues with the vehicle, but none of them were well-explained even when I asked for specifics. Eddie would say vague things, "there's a hose issue; there's blockages; it's dirty" but when I asked exactly what was being done he would say not to worry and blow my questions off. I am fully confident they did not touch my car and were lying to keep pushing off working on it. For the 6 days they had my car it equaled 4.5 hours of labor. No other work is listed except for replacing the compressor and refrigerant. I pick the car up on 15 July. A/C is slow but turns on. By the next day it died completely again. Eddie says I can't take it to his shop because it's conveniently under construction. I'm sent to a different mechanic who tells me the compressor is completely dead and he sees no other work having been done. I tell Eddie this and do not get an answer until I push him for a resolution. I am forced to bring my car back and have to shell out the money for a rental car to drive the 8 hours down to South Carolina and back. I sent Eddie the cost of the rental car but he did not try to compensate. Eddie blames whatever he got the part from for being a dud. I see on Google Reviews that a prior employee accused him of using bad parts to cut costs, I'd say this supports that accusation. When I show up to drop my car off the second time, directly before picking up a rental and driving 8 hours (now losing a day off my trip because Eddie ignored me the day before), the office is locked. They knew when I was coming. Luckily a mechanic came out another door and took my keys when I explained. I picked my car up for the second time on 22 July. Eddie is not there. Receptionist Debbie says the mechanics mentioned something about a loose wiring harness but she drove it around for a while and it "seems fine". I said you can't tell me there's a problem maybe but you don't know what it is and you didn't notice anything as a non-mechanic. She says the wiring harness was why it didn't work last time- I explained to her I know that isn't true because the OTHER mechanic I went to couldn't even get it to accept power while grounded, so there's another lie. Lo and behold, my car now has wiring issues every time I turn it on, with the Lane Keeping System malfunctioning at start up. I absolutely refuse to bring my car back to this shop and will be paying even more to have someone else fix it. I don't lie, I don't need to, so the owner can say what he wants to this review but it only reinforces the unprofessional from this business. read more

Because no one called to explain, I contacted the office and was assured by the gentleman I spoke with that my appointment was not canceled. When I arrived today for the scheduled appointment, the business was closed. Columbia Auto Collision Center On a rainy night in July of 2024 I was waiting at a light when a truck slid into the back of my car. We were on a decline at the time. Navigating the aftermath of the accident was stressful, especially when most collision centers refused to take my car because of Progressive Insurance, the provider. I don't really know what that is about but many of the calls started well and suddenly soured when I mentioned the insurance company. They all bluntly stated that they don't take it and redicted me back to Progressive. I was fortunate to find Columbia Auto Collision Center (CACC), and meeting the owner, Eddie, was like a prayer answered. Eddie's kindness and dedication are extraordinary. He even prayed for me and later offered me fair trade chocolate from his busy trunk. While it might sound a bit unusual, I appreciated the gesture. Being a single mother who works, it's nice when someone is not only capable and receptive but also quite kind. The collision left my car and shoulder damaged. CACC not only repaired my car but also uplifted my spirit. The facility itself is beautiful, resembling a spa - if there were spas for cars, this would be it. Although the car isn't the same as before (which is understandable after such an accident), Eddie's efforts saved me from the immediate stress of needing to purchase a new car during a time when I didn't have the means. Eddie's willingness to help and his compassionate approach were truly a breath of fresh air. A few days before New Year's Eve 2016, I was making my way out of my parking garage. I was making the 3rd to last right down the ramp, when someone made a very short left up the ramp...they forced me to pull hard to the right to avoid a head on collision, and my car's right rear side scraped the concrete wall of the garage. I heard the crunch and got out to check the damage. It wasn't horrible but it was clearly messed up. The anxiety started instantly. This was my first ever car accident as an adult. It looked like more than a couple grand in damage, too, so I called my insurance company. Sad face :( I checked Yelp for body repair shops, and I called around to several places for estimates. I took my car to two places: one in Baltimore, that has great reviews and Columbia Auto Collision Center (CACC). Both were professional and kind. However, I went with Columbia Auto Collision due to the proximity to my home, the estimate (the lowest I received), how long they told me it would take to complete the repairs, and ultimately how I felt I was treated (in that order). The first place said 3 weeks; CACC said 4 days. It did not take 4 days: more like 2 weeks. I dropped my car off on a Friday, and I told them I'd call on Thursday (I assumed business days, and did not count the drop off date). I called Wednesday, but the door had been ordered and wasn't in yet. Was I pissed? Hell yeah. They said next Wednesday. So I waited a day, and Friday I parked down the street from the shop and walked up to see if I could peer through the bushes at the progress. Yes, y'all: I Nancy Drewed these folks. This was unnecessary, but again, I was pissed and not trusting anyone at this point. I couldn't find my car, so I walked in and asked to see the progress. They were kind and accommodating: the door was finally on, but it still needed paint and the rear side panel reattached. They were still saying Wednesday, but I was trusting the process (and them) more now. I called Tuesday to say I would be by to get my car at 10; they tried to push pick up to the end of the day. I emphasized that I had a meeting in Rockville at noon so it had to be 10. When I arrived at 10, it wasn't ready. I waited about 1.5 hours as patiently as possible. When I was shown the car, I have to say: the work was perfect. My car looked like it had never been forced into a wall. I was an am quite pleased with the work. Despite the grossly underestimated delivery date, CACC did an excellent job with repairing my car. Plus, they did the work for the price I was quoted (which happened to be right on the button of the insurance repair quote, pretty spot on). The guy I dealt with most was kind, respectful, and also able to inject levity into the situation in a way that was not minimizing how I felt (anxious). I also talked to the owner...he's a nice guy, but was a bit "little woman"-ing to me a couple of times. Kind of the way your grandpa or an older uncle would act. He is an elder, so I gave him a pass. But on the last day he was very professional, kind, and reassuring, and the little woman bit was gone. Best way to pay is cash, cashier's check, or sign over the insurance check. I paid my deductible in cash and signed over the insurance check. If you use a credit card, there are extra charges. Shout out to State Farm for having my back! I hope I never need body work again, but if I do, I would most definitely return to CACC. This was definitely 4-4.5 star service. It's been about a month, and my car looks perfect. I've lived in Columbia MD for 24 years and having had the need for auto body work, I have always used Columbia Auto Collision. Eddie and his crew work miracles. Recently, my car was rear ended at fairly high speed and the rear of my car was so bad that it not only crashed the bumper but buckled both rear quarter panels. I assumed the car would be totaled but I took it to Eddie and he told me he could fix it. I almost got a tear in my eye when I picked it up. It looked brand new. He will be our go to shop for any body work. The repair was efficiently done and the damage is now undetectable. His office is filled with multiple letters of endorsements. Was verbally quoted a price, had a different price written on a business card as an estimate, the owner opened his shop 15 minutes late on the drop off day, got no call back when I left a message to see if it was ready when promised, and when I called again and it was finished, got a price that was 50% higher than what was written on the card. I paid what was written on the card ultimately but I was really put off by "Good Looking Eddie " who was more like "Fast Eddie ". read more

A little background of my situation: I let my friend drive my 2012 Camry SE on a rainy day and he lost control of the car and hit the curb going roughly 60mph. Just by assessing the damage with your eyes, anyone could see that the front drive train needed to be replaced. The car had to be towed, so I googled repair shops and settled for this place due to their free towing service, and because of their name: ....COLLISION center. I see some positive reviews here for smaller jobs such as cosmetic damages, but if your car requires extensive repairs for more than just the body I would recommend looking elsewhere. I'll cut right to the chase and express my displeasure with my experience. It took 5 attempts to properly diagnose my vehicle. The first quote came out to be $3k, then $5k, then $7k. The first three times I came to pick it up, I immediately noticed that the car was pulling severely to one side. I'm not a mechanic, but shouldn't you test drive the vehicle to make sure the job was done properly?! Especially if that car was not properly repaired the first or second time. After three weeks after I brought in my car, numerous visits, and a total of three times of being told that my car was ready for "pick-up", the owner explained to me that the pulling was caused by a bent frame, and sub-frame. This truly upset me because it is common knowledge that a car diagnosed with a bent frame will almost never drive straight again. If I was aware of this sooner, I might have opted to sell the car. The shop also never calls you back. I never received a proper call informing me of the situation of my vehicle. I have always had to call the shop itself and ask for the owner, which more than half the time I was told by the front desk person that he was on a "lunch break". I found this strange since my calls all varied from 11AM to 5PM. I can't knock off stars just for inconsistent lunch hours, but out of the 10 times I was told I would be getting a call back I only received 1. And I will gladly knock off stars for that. About the owner: He talks very fast and indirectly. I can see how most people fall for his charm and friendliness, but I was always skeptic of his work due to his lack of objective answers. He would ramble on and on about a related topic rather than expressing genuine interest in answering my questions and concerns. After nearly 2 months of my car in and out of the shop, dozens of visit, calls that were never returned, I gave up trying to fix the minor pull my Camry had after all of the repairs. Eddie didn't have an answer for it, and I had enough of going back to that place for anything. The only reason I avoided giving it the lowest rating is because Eddie offered to install a header I recently purchased for free due to the inconvenience. Although I wasn't clear if they were going to come to me to replace my windshield or not, they eventually made it clear. They have a shop near by, south of Baltimore which is how I found them. Where do I start? I've used them several times in the past, but the last few times they have really gouged me both in time and money!! I called yesterday evening to get an estimate as to how much it would cost to replace an alternator. Eddie informed me that it would be $299. I said great, If I drop off in the morning could I pick it up around lunch time. He said yes. I call around 1 and he informed me that I also need a battery. I asked him for the cost of that... He informed $109. I agree to have the work done and he advised it would be finished sometime around 3. At 5pm, no calls from the shop, I walk to the shop and the car is ready. He informs me that the bill is $694!!!!!!!! I asked what else did you do? He informed the prices he game me were just for parts???? Who calls a repair shop for and estimate just for the parts cost??? He took $100 of the bill..... lol Thanks. still $600. If I had the time to do the work, I could have baught a battery for 124 and new alternator for $171 and his was rebuilt..... And the to gouge me on labor too. Not acceptable!! Sad... Be aware if you choose to have work done there! read more

I worked at this place years ago for about 2 months if that. I am surprised this guy is still in business when he literally buys parts that your car doesn't need just so he can charge the insurance companies extra money. Then he returns the parts so he can get a refund for those parts that your car never needed to begin with. So, not only is he deceiving the insurance companies, but he is also making money on refunding the part back to the part store. This is FRAUD no matter what. read more

We threw a bit of a curve ball at these guys and they nailed it! We're a local tech company and needed to have the prototype of our product painted with a 1-2 day turnaround. Joe at the shop was very accommodating and made the process very smooth. We even were able to meet Martin, the painter, and explain to him what was needed. After two days, we went back to pick up the finished product and the paint job was spot on. A very nice black paint job with a brilliant clear coat. So, hats off to this place. I searched high and low for someone who could help me install mud flaps on my brand new mini van. I called and called and everyone wanted to charge me and arm and a leg. It was crazy. $350 just for labor? Well I came across this place and I called them up. Joe immediately said they would be glad to help me out and when I asked if there was any chance they could sneak me in the same day, he said "sure we can try to get you in." ! I was so happy! I came right over and sure enough. They were nice and kind and got right on it. How much was it? Not $350. Not $250. Not even $150. It was $85. That made my day. And I was very appreciative of their willingness to get my car in quickly and charge me a very reasonable price for labor. It was probably even discounted. Either way they now have a new customer because I will be calling them first for my car repair needs. read more

I will start out by saying yes, the work that was done on my car was very good. However, that is still not enough for me to recommend anyone using this body shop. I was originally told that my car would take 3 days of work. I dropped it off on a Tuesday afternoon, which meant by Friday it should have been done. It was not. Not only that, but I was never called to tell me that my car would not be ready. Instead I had to call and then they blamed it on my insurance, even though my insurance had it in their records that they had sent money and given permission for my car to be worked on. I was then told the car would be ready on Tuesday, then on Wednesday or Thursday, and finally on the next Friday. Every time I had to call. Not once did the shop think to call me and keep me informed of the progress. On my third time calling, after venting my frustration, the owner, Eddie, told me he'd make it right by making my car look beautiful. That's not enough. That is your job, to make cars look good. That is not making up for a week long delay and zero communication. He then told me he'd make it up by giving me coffee when I finally came to get my car. Nope, still not enough. You have coffee every day for every customer. When I finally got my car a week and a half after dropping it off, Joel offered excuse after excuse for the delay and the lack of communication. He could barely get out even an apology. Again, yes the work was well done. But I why should I support a business that seems to have no time for customer relations. From blaming insurance, to broken equipment, to swearing they did $2600 of work for $1300 (yeah, right. Insurance was paying, what benefit would that do a business?) I was given excuse after excuse, but never a real reason for the delay. I understand that things happen and an estimate is just an estimate, but communication would have gone a long way. read more

Took my car to this body shop after a car accident which messed up the front and rear as well as internal damages. Super friendly customer service, they are always responsive and really understanding. The only con that I can think of is that they never gave me status updates on my car repair unless I called them first and asked. But they finished everything on the date that they said they would complete it by so I am a pretty happy and satisfied customer. When I went to go pick up my car, it was a very simple process so it took only 2-3 minutes to pick up my car. But overall, my car looks brand new, they did an AMAZING job!!! I am very pleased with my car after having taken it to Columbia Auto Collision Center. I had a great experience starting from my first phone call, to dropping my car off and picking it up. The only thing I would ask to be done differently, is that no one called me to give me a progress report or status of the repair. When I dropped it off on a Saturday, I was told I should receive a phone call by Tuesday. I wasn't in a huge rush, so I waited over a week. The following Tuesday (10 days later), I called and they said it should be ready any time. They called the next day and said I could come pick it up, which was great news. I just wish I had been given an estimate of how long the repairs would take earlier on. All in all, I don't have any major complaints. I had to have my rear bumper repaired after having been rear ended, and the bumper looks flawless. Plus, they left the interior of my car the cleanest it's been in a year! read more

And even though there were some difficulties with dealing with the insurance company, I still got my car back in about a week. They also honored what they had quoted me. The workmanship and customer service at Columbia Auto Collision is second to none. Recently a friend of mine accidentally dented the side of my Volvo in an oops related carpool incident. Not a big deal, but the damage was done. She wanted to pay for the repairs without using insurance, so I researched and selected the body shop with great care, making sure to also get a fair price. After obtaining four estimates from repair shops in the Columbia, MD area, and comparing the breakdown of work, I concluded that Columbia Auto Collision had the fairest estimate, which happened to result in the second lowest price. The lowest I tossed out be causes of their lack of experience. The higher two seemed reasonable, but the estimates where done hastily, and without a detailed inspection. So Columbia Auto Collision won the estimate phase, but would they do a good job. Volvos have a very pronounced shoulder line, and the dent was right there. I was very concerned about the quality of work, and without any experience with this company, I looked to the internet for help. I was very pleased to see the plethora of very positive reviews. So in the end Columbia Auto Collision won my business. After picking up the car two days later (I should point out that two days was half the time estimated by the other companies) I was completely satisfied. The car was perfect. With any repair, quality is defined by what you don't see. And in my case, I saw nothing to indicate that I was ever in an accident. And the service from beginning to end was just as flawless. Not only did they help coordinate my rental car through Enterprise, who was also fantastic, they also opened the shop after a very heavy snow storm just to be able to deliver me my car, closing for all other business.
