6.14.25 On my way home from South Carolina yesterday, I noticed a starburst crack on the passenger side of my windshield. I called to schedule an appointment and was able to schedule a time for the following day. I was informed that it would take approximately 45 minutes. They were spot on as my car was returned within that timeframe. I went through my insurance and since I only had the crack repaired and not replaced, I did not owe anything out-of-pocket. The receptionist was very professional and friendly upon my arrival and in processing the paperwork. Likewise was Mike who repaired the crack to my vehicle. I was told that it's a possibility the crack could expand and would need to be replaced. We shall see, but as far as I can tell, Mike did a good job patching up the crack. read more

I was told that they would order the part and call me when it came in. Two weeks went by and I went back. Same answer. We'll call when it arrives. Two months now, Still no call. read more

Had to get my front windshield replaced and through my insurance company. This was the closest location to my house so this is the one I picked. I saw the horror stories about when they do the mobile service so I thought it would be best to come to the physical location. I made my appointment online and it process was very easy. Got a confirmation email within and few minutes and they event sent a email and text reminder the day before. When I arrived on the day of they checking me in. They said it would be about 2 hours so I decided to wait. Their waiting area is very small with only 8 seats inside. They have a coffeemaker and some complimentary mini water bottles. There is only one bathroom. I should have dropped off and came back later. I ended up waiting outside since the weather was nice and I needed to make a few calls. . It was very crowded with all seats taken. Looks like they have a busy day because the lot was packed with cars waiting. I got a text update when they started my repair. Then got another text when it was complete. Time will tell if it was done correctly. I want to make sure there aren't any leaks when it rains to see how good of a job they really did. It was not too long so if a had to come back I would. Hopefully no more windshields get broken though. Not sure on the price since I went through my insurance I only paid my deductible. read more

So I cracked my driver side window, it was replaced within two days. Ugh, I was having problems, my windows are laminated so it was a heavy lift. My window master control was struggling with the new window, not their fault, this car is a 2014 Charger with miles and the internals are plastic. So, about two weeks after working this window out my master window control broke, I didn't even know what that was until I was educated by the staff there. It was something out of their control, something that wasn't their fault. Something great happened, the car intake guy, sorry I can't recall your name but you're awesome, he explained to me the issue. I don't know if people remember the movie "Miracle On 34th Street", but being of an engineering background, once explained I was able to repair the issue myself. I needed my windshield replaced. I went online to get a quote which was really simple to do. I was able to set up an appointment easily within the next 4 days. They gave a 5 hour appointment window. Between 8am and 1pm. I set it up to be installed at my residence. The gentleman who was going to install my windshield called before coming to let me know they were on their way. They were very nice, professional and installed the rear view mirror we had that needed to go on as well. They were done in a timely manner and did a great job. I have no complaints. Fortunately, I was professionally greeted by Daniel at the front desk and the service I received was top notch .I dropped the vehicle off Saturday morning at 0900 and was contacted that the replacement was completed before the promised time ( 1100). I encountered several issues with my service and unfortunately was left with an overall negative image of the company. From the start they failed to complete the job within the appointment and promised someone would come back out tomorrow to finish the job. That did not happen and i was informed id have to wait a WEEK at the minimum despite the fact that i was unable to use several safety features and driving tools in my car as a result. In addition the technician broke a piece from my car that in turn would need to be ordered and replaced. A week later they NOCALL/NOSHOWed me on the appointment and I had to reach out to them! Where I am then informed I will need to wait another week entirely and they thought someone let me know, but no one checked. I had to demand to speak to a supervisor or someone in a position of authority who wasn't available AND did not call back for several hours until I called back. Once I spoke to him he managed to get my car finished quicker( shocking i thought no appointments were available sooner ). For such an expensive service and such a household name I was wildly disappointed and would not be a repeat customer if offered an alternative business by insurance. Trusted the company due to the wildly known name and the general positive rep however I cannot say I would recommend this company or at least location to my family and friends. Once the job was done I had no complaints with the final product but the service and communication and professionalism are severely lacking. Two replacement windshields within a couple weeks and both had flaws/distortion in the glass. Neither should have been installed as any decent quality inspection of the glass would have revealed the flaws. Won't risk another visit to this location so heading to a different shop and I'll personally inspect this glass at or right after install. (My wife waited on both before) For paying $800+ for a replacement ($500 deductible), this should have been done the right way first time. read more

When I went into my car dealership for a regular service, they recommended replacing my windshield due to a couple chips in the windshield. I declined their replacement and instead went to Safelite in Columbia. A Safelite technician looked at my windshield and told me that I didn't need any repairs, much less a windshield replacement! I booked an appointment, showed up 5 minutes before and checked in, but I still had to wait for close to 2 hours for them to even start work on my car. They also added fraudulent charges for work that they didn't perform, and refuse to take them off, so now I'm having to go through the BBB. I hadn't even received work done yet and got fed up with this company to where I canceled my appointment. Danny was called on Friday, Jan 25 from Mike W. to order a part for my vehicle. On Saturday, January 25, I receive a call from a female wanting to know what part to order so she could order the part at that time. Come Monday, January 27, I get a call from a person who identified himself as Danny to get my vehicle information. He also claims he was just seeing the request on his desk to which I called him out on his lie (Lie #1). What Danny didn't know, I was standing next to Mike W. when he called to tell him to call in the part. I then ask as confirmation was his name Danny? and he flat out said no. I told him I listen very well and clearly heard him identify himself as Danny when he called me. ( Lie # 2). He then proceeded to tell me in order for him to call in to request the part, I had to schedule another appointment. He said the part should be in Friday, January, 31. If not, I can reschedule. I explained to Danny that I have already taken off from work two days for this and I am not going to take off a third day for me to get another call to say the part hadn't come in. I have never heard of such bull to where you can't place an order for a part unless you schedule an appointment. By this time, I felt Safelite in Columbia were playing games and I lost trust in this company before they had the chance to do any work. Although I scheduled another appointment with them, I immediately called another company on Tuesday, January 28, who had all the parts that was needed and was available the next day (January 29) to complete the work and were very professional. You'll never have to worry about me contacting this place again and to think a friend recommended me to this place. Poor customer service. Have been trying get my windshield replaced for over a month. It's a special order that has been back ordered on three separate occasions. Only finding out each time they never contacted me to let me know before my appointment time and day. Showed up at the re-scheduled appointment and still no glass. Found out the number they were calling was an old (5+ yr old) number. Not even sure where they got the number from. Finally got glass replaced. Hopefully will never have to deal with them again. Shoutout to Dominique!!! She did a great job on my chip on my windshield! I wanted to be safe for winter weather and it was easy to communicate with my Allstate insurance and Safelite! I had just enjoyed time during my appointment wait for a complimentary cup of coffee and some Dr Pol on their TV in the waiting area!!! The office manager on duty was professional, friendly, and personable. The weather was bleak outside, so the warm coffee and safe environment made it easy to find Peace. They even sell excellent wiper blades for your new/replaced/repaired windshield! Since having reliable wiper blades for your windshield is like having clean eyeglasses on your face ... make sure that you can safely rely on your blades! Excellent resource for their clients! Bought a vehicle from Carmax beginning of May and it had a chip in the windshield. Carmax told me they'd contact safelite to repair it. After a lot of back and forth between Carmax and safelite, and two months and some change later they finally replaced my windshield but the job they did was horrible! Not only did safelite leave remnants of adhesive and particles in my car from the job, they also left residue all over the front of my car and they left dirty used rubber gloves in there as well. After I inspected the job I noticed not only did they damage the pillar on the inside driver side near the windshield they also left rubber sticking out of the edge near the passenger side, there is exposed adhesive all around the rain sensor. Horrible install job! To make matters worse you can't get in touch with anyone at the company! Now I just have to deal with a crappy half a$$ed job! Never dealing with them again, nor sending any business their way. *UPDATE* It rained today and now my rain sensor isn't working! Installer allowed dust in between the window and sensor or broke the sensor! Either way it's not working now and it did before. read more

I personally drove to Safelite four times with confirmed appointments after they called me to say my glass was in. All four times they either didn't have the glass, had the wrong glass or had no idea why I showed up (and could not explain it when I showed them my appointment confirmation email from them). In the past, I've had no problems getting my windshield repairs serviced at the Safelite AutoGlass located on Berger Rd in Columbia, MD; however, recently, I had disappointing experiences with the Safelite AutoGlass at this location. I recently scheduled an in-store appointment for windshield replacement. On the appointment day, After one and a half hours of waiting for my windshield service, the receptionist informed me the replacement windshield was defective. Therefore, Safelite would need to order another windshield. No problem, _ _it happens! Consequently, they rescheduled another appointment date for the windshield replacement. At this appointment, I waited another one and a half hours when the receptionist notified me again that the windshield was defective and another windshield had to be ordered and a new appointment scheduled. Tired of their BS, I decided to give another Safelite location a try. Although the Safelite office I selected is located further away, its price for the same service is over $200 cheaper, which works in my favor since I have to pay out of pocket. read more

I picked up my car yesterday to discover several issues. 1. Strong chemical smell 2. The interior plastic touching windshield in car was stripped. 3. The adhesive was inconsistently applied and showing globs around some edges of windshield. 4. There is a hole in the cloth of the roof in the car that touches the windshield. 5. The engine hood was popped and my dashboard light lit up when I drove away. 6. The hood and front of cars paint is scratched in multiple places. read more

This was one of the worst customer service experiences my partner and I have ever had. DO NOT GO HERE! Last week on 1/9 we had an appointment to get our windshield replaced. After dropping off our car the front desk attendant told us it would be 2 hrs. At the top of the 2nd hour my partner went up to the counter and asked how much longer it would be. The lady at the front desk said they were finishing up and it should be done soon. 45 minutes after that interaction I went up to the desk to ask if the car was ready because she had said it would be ready 45 min ago. She informed us that we would have to come back because they couldn't get the windshield calibrated to our car. How long would we have been waiting if I didn't ask. The lady that we were dealing with wasn't busy she was playing on her phone the whole time we were there. Today my partner goes back and they once again tell him it will be 2 hours. He waited almost 4 hours. When he went up to pay there was no apology or a discount on wiper blades which we also purchased there for our wasted time. No major issue getting an appointment back in May for a windshield replacement. Everything went pretty smooth until I got my car back. I waited at the shop. Once they said my car was ready they didn't know where it was... I went outside and couldn't find it. They went to the technician to find out where he left it and he moved it behind the shop for some reason. I had to follow the employees through the shop to get to my car. Once I got in my car I noticed how filthy they left it. Everything was smudged including all of my screens and mirrors. My seat was all the way back and my wheel was pushed all the way in. I brushed this stuff as all minor issues since the windshield looked fine and that's what I was there for. That evening I got back in my car to run an errand and placed my hand on the seat as usual to get in my car and cut my hand on some glass shreds that were left on my seat. It made me upset but again I just cleaned it up and bandaged my hand. Two weeks later I began having sensor issues and the BMW dealer will not fix them under my warranty due to Safelite messing up the recalibration. Absolutely nightmare experience and I'm now left with a $1050 bill to BMW or to leave a faulty backup sensor. I emailed safelite directly and never received a response. read more

We paid extra for an early morning appointment so the car would be available for work later that day. It's 2 hours after the appointment and nothing from Safelite. They do not accept phone calls as all appointments and customer service is done online. So if you make an appointment rest assured you will not be able to get any information on the appointment. Someone called yesterday to verify that we would be home between 12 and 5. It is 6:30 pm and still no one showed up and online it shows tech is still coming. No call no show is terrible practice for a business. Call the after hours line they say " oh well you can just reschedule for another appointment?????" I scheduled a mobile front windshield replacement. When the end of the scheduled appointment time was nearing I called the number I was given to make sure my windshield replacement was still scheduled. I was told the tech was going to call me when he was on his way. Tyree never showed and never called. I called the following day and was told that the replacement windshield was damaged and I should have received a call. I asked who was supposed to call me and did not receive an answer. I told them I tried to call after 5pm and no one answered the phone. I was asked if I called a specific number because someone is supposed to answer it. I, in fact, had called that number and no one answered and could not leave a message. I was then given an excuse that the person was probably doing inventory. Would you believe the story or think it was a bunch of excuses? I do not recommend Safelite due to their unprofessional behavior. read more

I had to wait 6 business days for the first available time to replace my windshield. I was surprised at the wait time but it was during the Christmas season. I am satisfied with the results. I was notified in a timely fashion that my vehicle was ready for pick-up. This company does submit to insurance companies for payment. Mine had a $100 deductible. read more
