I really love to shop at this store. I came to the Allen Outlet Mall to my favorite NE corner (Skechers & Columbia). I really didn't need anything but when I walked in they had a display of cute summer dresses. The fabric on the Chill River dresses were light and airy. I said to myself, "I wonder if it has pockets?" and lo and behold - it DOES HAVE pockets! And it was marked down to $19.96 on clearance sale! SCORE!! I tried on a couple different prints. You have to look carefully, some of the Freezer III dresses don't have pockets and are on sale for $24.99 (from $34.99). They all felt comfortable to wear! read more

I came to this Columbia store at Allen Premium Outlet to browse. I have probably a grand total of three items from Columbia -- a fleece jacket, a pair of sneakers, and a waterproof jacket. All three came from Columbia outlet stores. I refuse to get them anywhere else. I liked the lightweight jackets in pretty, cheerful colours. They were going for $100, which seemed a bit steep for an outlet store. I recently got a replacement one for a jacket that I have had for five years. The only downside is that the shoe section has a limited number of size 11 shoes for women. I'd have to dip into the men's shoes to find a pair of shoes that for me. I loved the merchandise in this store. I didn't find anything that I needed, but there are some decent deals that are worth checking out. (66) read more

Awful. Thanks, Manager Patrick. I bought jackets and needed to return, and I am out internationally for a month. Coming from Houston, there are fairly few Columbia retail stores. I asked my boyfriend to return on my behalf and provided receipt, credit card used for payment with my name on it, and the jackets. He went today, Christmas Eve. He was refused, without reason other than just "no." The receipt return policy does not mention that the cardholder had to be physically present. Manager Patrick was incredibly rude and called security to kick them out. I called and Manager Patrick refused to speak to me on the phone. I have been a loyal Columbia customer and am sickened by the way my boyfriend and his family who waited for 20 minutes were treated. I have since called customer service, and they were appropriately surprised by the treatment received. They did explain the security concern with returning items with a credit card when the cardholder is not present. I can appreciate the security concern. So why is it one star? 1. Kicking customers out of the store when they were just asking why. 2. Manager Patrick refused to converse with me on the phone. 3. Failure to explain the WHY it cannot be returned when there was no clauses on the return policy. It was just "no." What a terrible way to start the holidays on Christmas Eve. read more

I got two, great winter/fall jackets for $120. Both were in my favorite color, purple! This Columbia had a MUCH bigger selection than the North Face outlet in the same mall. North Face seemed to be wiped out and only have 1000 of the same jacket in one color. The variety at Columbia was endless, and despite there being a lot of customers, the line moved quickly. I would definitely patronize this location again. read more

Employees incompetent or not trained on in-store advertised prices, how to ring things up, or how the "rewards" works - yet they ask if you want to join. They say anything - I learned is untrue. The asian gal mgr easily lies on blatant posted prices & other things - so I have to explain or argue the TRUTH! Otherwise, they will rip you off. The rude, talk at you, staff (who dont know anything) says anything. Be aware of posted prices & receipt - as they will lie on a price that is clearly different! We stopped in the Columbia outlet in Allen with the intentions of checking out a few items and left with 4 jackets, two for my wife and two for myself. They have a good selection, great pricing, and the sizing of their products is quite good. I had been looking at a North Face soft shell jacket and I managed to find a Columbia one that looked just as good and cost half as much. Plus, the pricing in the store is pretty much the same as the best online price you can find. If you have any inclination to get some new fall/winter gear, I definitely recommend that you check out this store. It was great. read more

I can count on one hand the number of times I have walked into a clothing store, found a pair of shorts I liked, tried them on, and had them actually fit perfectly. This store - a recent discovery - is now on that list. I found several pairs of shorts here that were exactly what I was looking for. They were a good length (not too short and not too long) which is a feat in and of itself because I am a tall girl and finding shorts that don't look ridiculous on me is pretty difficult. They are also very comfortable; the material they use for their shorts is light, breathable, and soft, and the waistband is such that no gap forms in the back (yay! no flashing the undies). Finally, they actually look good on - they are not shapeless or ill-fitted. I would gladly have paid full price for every one of these shorts, but as luck would have it, they were all on clearance. I think I am in love... I also found several tops here that were lightweight but still fit well. Obviously, the stuff here is a bit outdoorsy, but they have some cute styles. I am so glad that my aimless wandering at the outlets eventually led me to this place. My shopping experiences typically don't end well, so this was a very pleasant surprise. I will be back. So i received a headlamp for christmas. Wasnt a huge fan of the output, or quality of it so i tried to return it with the gift receipt i was given. They refused to return the charge to the card that was used. Said they could only do a store credit. Watever ill keep the junky headlamp. In other news, also received 2 packs of socks from there as well. The seams on the end tend to crawl under my toes by lunch, resulting in me shuffling weight from right to left the rest of the day. Throwing these away as well, no refund for them either. Only thing columbia is good for in m book is there fishing shirts, love those. Although even aftermarket china company's are coming out with better quality than columbia. read more

(Since there are two of the same Allen, TX Columbia stores listed, and i'm not sure which is the official one, I will post the same review that I left for the first listing under this listing as well.) I had a fantastic experience here recently. During checkout I was being helped by Wendy (employee #53230) and she took my experience from a good one to an outstanding one. First of all, she was personable, enthusiastic, friendly, and eager to help. I was purchasing a ski jacket with the interchangeable inner lining feature and she asked if I knew that the inner lining could be switched between both the omni-heat jacket and the fleece jacket. I told her I did not, so she ran to retrieve the fleece lining and returned to show me the different options for the jacket, and then explained that if I were to purchase the extra lining then my total would conveniently be enough to receive a promotional $30 gift card. I was pleasantly surprised and decided to buy both the jacket and the fleece lining she showed me. Throughout the whole interaction mentioned above, Wendy was excited to help and seemed genuinely happy to be at work. In addition to providing great customer service, I'd also like to point out that she was an exceptional saleswoman, considering that she convinced me to purchase more products than I originally intended. I have always been a big fan of Columbia, but this most recent experience blew me away. Overall, great products, even better employees. I'll be back! read more

Don't recommend this store at all. Inspect all your purchases before you pay for them! Purchased a damaged jacket. Went in to exchange and got accused of altering the jacket. Don't know how I can alter a jacket with the tags still on. Will never purchase anything from Columbia again. Manager is rude and arrogant! read more
