My latest trip to this Fleet Feet was purely to get a new scan of my feet so I could buy the appropriate insoles for my running shoes. Upon entry, William quickly greeted me and off to the races we went. First we got the scan, then we tried on several inserts, along with him teaching me the best way to "ankle lock" by tying my shoes a better way. We chatted through the best options for shoes, arch support, gear, etc...William is good people! That's a shame and in my never-ending journey to bring my sexy back, I have taken up various grooming practices that my father and his father before him engaged in. Of note here, shining shoes. I'm used to having my shoes shined when I get them back from the cobbler. I have never used the services of a professional shoe shiner. There's much too much history to unpack for that to ever be a comfortable experience for me. So, when I need to make sure my shoes look good, I do it myself. And I, like Andy, had need to add a little sparkle to my shoewear. From my long history with mall stores, I remembered J&M for being a shoe store but when I walked in, all I saw were clothes. Had the brand changed in the umpteen years it had been since I'd last been to one? I was greeted with smiles by the two ladies working and I inquired about shoe polish. No worries, they had just what I needed. I had a tin of dark brown at home so I was just in need of black. To my enjoyment, I saw that they sold tins. I'm all about that shoe paste. Liquids and creams just won't do. Give.me.the.tin! Along with my tin, I bought a proper brush and rag (for fibers). I'd been using an old t-shirt but I figured if I was going all in, I'd go all in. Plus, all three items cost, about, $20. Not a bad price to maintain, preserve and extend one's sexy. Sold.

The store is not large, but it has the basics of what I enjoy about the brand. I have picked up two pair of new kicks from this location over the past few years...my office is right around the corner, so when I am trying to delay hitting the highway due to traffic, I sometimes swing by and that can be dangerous. Service is always solid. I have gotten great service in store, and as well when I called in to see if they had a particular style/size. They are a whole lot less in price than what you will find at say a Macy's and the selection is better for mostly the same brands. It's laid out like a big warehouse with shoes on display and the boxes underneath so it's self service. Again, I prefer this, I don't' like some shoe person getting up in my business or waiting on them for a ridiculously long time as they try to locate the size shoe I want. They do have sale racks in the back that offer shoes that are even further discounted. I personally don't always find much here but again their prices are reasonable. I have low back problems so I am unfortunately limited to clunky shoes and so if i come here , I will find all the brands of clunky (like borns, clarks, or teva) shoes on the market in all the available colors and styles. I swear it works for just about any shoe like that here so alas, I save time and money.
