I tend to stay with certain clothing brands, like Columbia for their short-sleeve PFG shirts, pants by Carhartt, and color-variety crew socks by Under Armour. And since things wear out eventually, I'll sometimes go to a convenient outlet mall to restock. I was on my way to Iowa City yesterday and decided to stop in at this outlet mall for Under Armour socks and maybe some short sleeve PFG shirts. I found a nice couple nice ones at "Buy One - 2nd at 50% Off". I may have done better before on ebay, but I was very happy with the purchase and a chance to recycle a couple of the old ones at home. read more

Frontier is definitely my go-to plant shop right now. I've struggled to find larger terra cotta…read morepots in big box stores, but can always find a good variety in stock here. They have a small selection of plastic planters and other indoor gardening accessories in addition to the usual outdoor gardening stock. Of course, my favorite part is the attached greenhouse with all the houseplants! They are fairly priced with a range of sizes and varieties, from teeny tiny to trees as tall as I am. Most importantly though, I find that the staff are very knowledgable and happy to engage with customers about their plant projects. Definitely recommend for plant lovers of all levels!
