As a loyal Honda owner, I'm sad to say that my experience with the service department at Columbia Honda was extremely disappointing. My son was living in Columbia last year while attending Mizzou and the catalytic converter was stolen off our CRV. We filed an insurance claim and chose the dealer to do the work to ensure it was done correctly. We got the car back pretty quickly and the initial interaction was positive. Our service advisor (Michelle) was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, about six months later the engine light came on. The car was back in St. Louis by then, so we took it to a local place and were told that the catalytic converter installed was not a genuine (OEM) Honda part and had failed, and they actually could not do the repairs because of that. We called Columbia Honda, explained the situation, and they told us to bring it back and they'd repair the car correctly. We did that and they had the car for about a week and a half. When we picked it up, Michelle told us that the genuine Honda part had been installed, welds had been fixed, and it the warranty was good for a year from that date (September 2025). Unfortunately, none of this was true and the catalytic converter failed again six months later. When we called and spoke to the service manager (Aaron), we were told they'd work with a local Honda dealer to get the repair done correctly this time. We took it to a local Honda dealership and were quoted $4400 for the repair. Our new service advisor called Columbia Honda and they will not work with the local dealer on the repair and we're told now that the warranty on their work is expired. We specifically chose Columbia Honda expecting quality workmanship and honesty, but feel like we didn't get either one. read more

I live almost an hour away. Had an appointment to get my first oil change in my brand new car. Also have a manufacturing defect in the passenger seat cover. Appointment took 2 hrs. Should not have taken this long with an appointment. After the wait they didn't even look at the correct problem with the seat. Advisor took pictures of the seat problem and told me service manager was in a meeting and would have to get back with me. Day and a half later still no reply. read more

I brought my car in and told the service advisor what the problem was and what I believed needed to be done. I was told after the tech looked at it that it was a different problem. I was assured they had properly diagnosed the problem. They made the repair and i took the car home. ($633.00 charge) It did NOT fix the problem. I made another appointment and this time they diagnosed that it was the problem I had originally told them that it was. So they made that repair. ($622.00) So, I'm out $1,255.00 for what should have been a $622.00 job. I diagnosed the problem, and they would not believe me. I feel cheated. read more

My wife and I were driving across Missouri to see our grandkids, and hit a raccoon near Hannibal. Took out the radiator and more on our Honda CRV,. We had it towed to Columbia Honda. They worked hard to get it back in shape for us, but ultimately, we had a cracked block, and the engine was toast. I ended up buying a new Ridgeline from them. Ciera (Service), and Cory (Sales) did a terrific job for us. While I wasn't looking to buy a new car, Cory made it very painless. On top of all that, we are Jayhawks. Columbia Honda - A terrible location to buy a car. - Car Dealers Near Me - Columbia, Missouri

Our encounter with this dealership had begun as a positive one. We were approached by a nice salesman's who we talked with about our hard cap for our budget and expectations for a vehicle. We had tested our several vehicles and were told that the final one we saw could be financed to our budget and no more. The salesman was helpful in answering any questions we had but could not solidify the numbers for us. After hours of waiting and being led on, the financial advisor was brought out to show us the final numbers. It was still above our hard cap of our budget. We discussed how on top of needing to pay the registration fees within 30 days or so and what monthly we were being offered, we told them we couldn't afford the car payments and the additional fees required from the DMV. The financial advisors response was: "You don't have to worry about paying it, you won't get pulled over" and sarcastically stated that "everyone in Columbia has expired tags just drive around for 20 minutes and you will see that." We had expressed our concerns with this statement as this could lead to future issues and asked if he had expired tags. His response was "well no....". What was really upsetting to hear, was that he had said that he "doesn't care what happens after the sale" when we expressed how we would handle this payment once we sign the final paperwork. There was a clear reason why this guy was not put on the sales floor. He had zero people skills and had no clue on how to remediate the situation. We had asked if there was any way we could adjust the final purchase price to offset these costs or to somehow include it within the monthly payments to make it more manageable in the long term. He had become visibly annoyed and short, saying that this could not be done and that they do not have any cars within our price range. While this could have been true, the salesman and their website stated differently just prior to this discussion. Overall, very dissatisfied and disappointed with the service we had received here besides the interactions we had with the salesperson in viewing the vehicles. The financial advisor was extremely unprofessional and unwarranted in his responses, and ultimately we walked out without purchasing a car. I will happily take my money elsewhere. read more

I knew my vehicle was due for a few items (brakes, fluid flush) but never got a call, just a text to let me know my oil change was complete. Service has been poor. "Press 1" to check the status of your car just goes to "TJ's" voicemail. Only chat feature tells you it is necessary to call. Call and they need to text your service advisor who will return your call but hasn't twice. When they do speak with you, they need to check the status and will call you back in an hour --- which turns into 3 hours and still no callback. This is our 3rd honda but it might be our last one. read more

Since his car has had so many repairs in the past, I drove out to help him figure out his car situation. Due to the age of his car and the cost of repairs, we elected to trade it in on a newer car. This was, BY FAR, the most pleasant car purchase experience I've had, even considering the stress of being stranded hours from home. Let me start this off by saying that I live all the way in St. Louis (a 2 hour drive roughly) and was in the market for a new 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback in a rare Sonic Gray color. Though I was able to locate one in my city, it was sold to someone else the same day I test drove it... and I'm a slow shopper so I was talking to a couple different dealerships about prices and models. Other dealerships had tried to sell me on the vehicles they had on their lot, but those weren't the trim levels nor color that I wanted. Enter, Doug Walker at Columbia Honda. I had mistaken a silver car on their inventory as the Sonic Gray that I wanted and that's how we got to talking. This guy even recorded a personalized video of a car they had on their lot to give me an overview of the trim level I was looking at. The only problem? The color wasn't right. Well, Doug was extremely helpful and went out of his way to make sure I received the car color and trim that I wanted. He dealt with my needy texts asking him to look for that specific color and contact other dealerships that I located with that vehicle in their inventory. He was able to work out a dealer trade with a dealership in Arkansas for me, and sent a coworker out to pick up the car I wanted at a steal of a price and I made my trip up to Columbia to get my new baby! Thanks "Hollywood"! He even treated us to some pizza for lunch during our paperwork / completion process. Nick Costanza was also very understanding and informative during our visit, providing answers to my questions and solutions to my concerns regarding financing and what warranties were needed and added an extra perk or two in there for me after I nagged at him for a little while, haha. TLDR; Great, friendly staff who go out their way to make you happy with more than fair prices. (aka other dealerships said "Great deal, can't even come close. Buy from them immediately!") I had been looking for a commercial hitch receiver to put a bike rack on my 2019 Honda Clarity plug-in hybrid, but none were produced by the major hitch companies (like Draw-Tite or U-Haul). I had a less than pleasant experience with the service department. When I scheduled my appointment (weeks in advance), I was told it would be 2 hours for the service. When I arrived at the dealership and checked in I was told it was a bit busy and may take 3 hours. When I called to check in at the 3 hour mark I was told it was written on my ticket that it did not need to be finished for another 2 hours which meant a total of 5 hours for something I was told would take 2-3. The service appointment I was told would take 2 hours ended up taking a full 4 hours. When I asked what the deal was, I was told that it was Saturday and it was busy. Not sure if that means they overbook or if they are just unable to keep their appointments. It would have been nice if I had at least received an apology rather than the man acting like it was no big deal that the service took an additional 2 hours. read more

Run, don't walk from these guys. Recently, I took my Honda vehicle to the service department to see about getting a minor fluid leak fixed. They charged me nearly $70 just to look at it, and told me I'd need to come back some other time if I wanted the work done. They presented me with a laundry list of fixes they said I needed that went far and beyond what I asked them to look at, and estimated nearly $5000 for their services. I left there, took it to a shop in Jefferson City, and paid $400 to get the fix. My Honda runs great now, thanks to someone other than Columbia Honda. These guys look clean and respectful, but they clearly had the goal of getting me to pass on the minor repair and buy a new/used car from them. I never forget the look in the service guy's eyes as he dared me to trust him. This place is a humiliation to the good name of Honda. If I could, I'd give them no stars but it seems I'm required to give them one. read more

I cannot even give one star. This has been the worst experience in my life. I brought it in for a recall and my radio going on and off. That was 11/23/2020. After ordering wrong parts and waiting, I picked it up on 12/31/2020. I took it home, and found it was scratched and dented in the right rear panel. Then, I find that where they replaced the radio the leather is all bunched up, glue is showing, and tons of scratches. Be aware, take your vehicle somewhere else. I will from now on. read more

We are typically pretty tough on car dealerships. We drive a hard bargain and expect great service. Josh Larimore did an extraordinary job for us. He was always prompt in responding whether by text, email, or phone. We got a great deal on the car we wanted with minimum hassle. I had previously done business at a different Honda dealership however Columbia Honda has made significant changes for the better. The service and value was so good that I took a friend back to purchase a vehicle from Josh and Columbia Honda. I have referred several others. The ONLY negative was the hard sell of GAP and extra warranty coverage by the finance department. Some of it was included on the first paperwork we were presented without our permission when I brought my friend back.
