I'd give a 5 star but I didn't get a car wash! Amanda was a great service tech and kept me updated on the work status.

We have had a wonderful experiance at Joe Machens Toyota (Josh Benson our Salesman and Greg was the…read moreSales Manager). We did not even purchase a car from them YET!!! For the last few weeks we have been waiting for a special 2022 Highlander to come in. They not only put our name on it while we were waiting, but they held it for 2 more days after it came in. The deal they worked out with us was very fair the FIRST time. However after my wife seen the actual vehicle, she decided she did not want to go with that color. They gave us no problems at all about it. While there I seen a 2019 Tacoma that I thought I wanted really bad. Josh and Greg again worked out a very fair deal for me. After I drove this vehicle, I realized it did not have all the equipment I wanted. Then again they gave me no problems at all. They also have the Best Cappacino in town. I did not feel pressured as I expected to by anyone. All staff, Front desk and Sales Desk treated us very very well on and off the telephone. They are looking for other vehicles now for us. We will not hesitate to go back and reccomend them to others.

I purchased a vehicle from Joe Machens Toyota last Saturday. During the sales process, I was told…read morethe vehicle was mechanically sound and had passed the dealership's inspection, which gave me confidence that it was safe and ready to drive. After looking the vehicle over myself, I had no reason to believe otherwise. Unfortunately, during the two-hour drive home, I began hearing a loud noise coming from the right front wheel area. After having the vehicle inspected, I learned that the right front wheel bearing is failing and needs to be replaced. The repair estimate is over $800, and I have been advised that the vehicle is not safe to continue driving until the issue is corrected. What concerns me most is that a vehicle represented as having passed the dealership's inspection and being mechanically sound developed a serious safety-related issue almost immediately after purchase. This problem was never disclosed to me prior to the sale. When I contacted the dealership yesterday, I was told to take the vehicle to my local Toyota dealership and that Joe Machens Toyota would cover the repair costs. Based on that assurance, I scheduled an appointment to have the work completed. However, when I called back this morning to confirm the arrangement, I was told they would not be paying for the repair after all. They also declined to repair the vehicle themselves or offer any assistance in resolving the situation. I understand that used vehicles can sometimes develop unexpected issues. What I do not understand is how a vehicle that was represented as mechanically sound and inspected by the dealership could have a failing wheel bearing severe enough to become obvious during the drive home. The change in position regarding the promised repair assistance only added to my disappointment. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone purchasing a vehicle from this dealership obtain an independent inspection and get any promises regarding vehicle condition or repair assistance in writing before signing the paperwork.

My experience purchasing a vehicle from Rusty Drewing in Columbia, Missouri has been extremely…read moredisappointing in the long run. When I purchased the vehicle about 2-3 years ago, it already had visible hail damage. At the time of the sale, I was advised by the financing agent not to mention the damage because it could interfere with the deal going through. As someone who didn't have much experience buying vehicles and trusted the dealership staff to guide me honestly, I followed that advice. About a year after purchasing the vehicle, it began randomly shutting off while I was driving, which was both alarming and unsafe. I took it in to be checked and was initially told it might related to a software update. Later, I was told it could be related to transmission issues. When I contacted the dealership to ask whether the vehicle had any type of warranty or if they could help address the issue, I was told there was no warranty and received little assistance. I essentially felt left to deal with a serious problem on my own after only owning the vehicle for about a year. Now that I am trying to trade the vehicle in, I'm dealing with what turned out to be transmission problems. My significantly lower trade-in value due to this and hail damage that was already present when I purchased it. I am also still paying on the loan, and the vehicle's value is far below what I owe. People don't go to a dealership expecting to purchase a temporary vehicle. When you commit to financing a car, you expect reliability and honesty about its condition. Unfortunately, I feel like I was sold a vehicle with issues that I was not fully informed about. As a customer--especially a young women who walked in trusting the dealership's honesty and expertise--I expected transparency and guidance. Instead, I feel like important information about the vehicle's condition may have been withheld during the sale. I hope the dealership takes situations like this seriously and works to improve how they communicate with and support their customers.
