We hired Columbia Wine Tours for our wedding to transport us and our guests from the Hood River Hotel in downtown Hood River to the Crag Rat Hut, about 20 minutes south. During the planning stages, they were extremely responsive. They helped us think through the types of buses we needed and work through downsizing adjustments as RSVP were finalized, even suggesting a different set-up of buses that would save us money. Columbia Gorge Tours did a good job for us, on time and got our guests safely from point A to B. Their pricing was high, but they also have a near monopoly in the area, so there is not a lot of negotiating power. Christi was dishonest when negotiating prices, she tried to justify an extremely high rate when we asked for one extra hour of service by saying that she wouldn't be able to book anyone the rest of the day so we had to pay for the whole day, not realizing that she had already told us the bus was being used for another event up until the hour we needed it. She ignored our calls once we pointed this out as we'd already paid the deposit and she knew we had limited other options. Ultimately, we used them for half of our shuttling needs as we found Martins Gorge Tours to be a more affordable and personable option, but they were unable to meet our full needs with their fleet. read more

We booked this tour for a bachelorette party and it was one of the top highlights of the weekend!! Christi made it so easy and we didn't have to worry about a thing. This was a wonderful wine tour! We're from the other side of the country and had no idea where to go so this was a perfect option for us. This tour is personal, unpretentious and flexible (working with what we are interested in seeing). Phil was so nice, knowledgeable and fun (good music in the van). Having the tastings paid for already made it easy for us. The food was also very good: Brie, caviar etc... fantastic! After I posted negative reviews on several websites, Christi Chambers, owner of Columbia Wine Tours, contacted me via email, apologizing for the problems that occurred with the shuttle I hired from them to shuttle wedding guests for my daughter's wedding. In her email, Christi explained her version of what happened which does not agree with what I personally experienced and what I heard from other wedding guests; however, perceptions don't necessarily match up on a lot of things in life. Christi also said the owner of her company (I presume her husband Phillip) went to the wedding venue that day and spoke with one of the wedding planners who didn't mention the delay; the issue there is that the owner should have spoken directly with me (since I am the person who paid for the shuttle) and not the wedding planner who was quite inexperienced (as this was her very fist wedding and she was in training, based on what she told me earlier that day). However, with that being said, I do believe Christi is sincerely sorry for her mistake of providing the shuttle driver with the incorrect address of the wedding venue as well as for the serious delays that it caused. As a further gesture of good will, Christi refunded an additional $200 of the $1,350 fee I paid for the shuttles for my daughter's wedding. As Columbia Wine Tours has been in business for over 10 years, they know that mistakes like we experienced won't keep any company in business very long. Thus, I'm fairly confident that Christi and Phillip are going to take all extra steps necessary, double and triple checking each booking to make sure that their shuttles go to the correct addresses at the scheduled times to ensure complete guest satisfaction in the future. read more

We used Columbia Wine Tours for transportation to and from our wedding. This is a little different compared to their standard tour operation. The shuttles and buses were on time and prompt. The two drivers that we had were both very friendly (even with our slightly rowdy crowd). We had reserved the transportation from the venue to the hotel/bar area and arrived ahead of schedule. The driver was kind enough to remain in the parking lot and transport everyone to a bar (which was outside of the original contract). Everyone that I dealt with was helpful and knowledgeable.
