Good fortune! Fridays special is prime rib and here we are. Table for six not a problem and they were pump'in. So they were on the slow side getting things to your table but not to worry they were moving around as they should. Beer was cold and our food was hot. The prime rib was delicious and others had good things to say about the food they ate. Walking out a little slow but pretty happy. I didn't have room for any of their house made ice cream, next time. Came in on a Thursday night and saw approximately 40 people sitting at various size tables. Ordered two burgers and waited 1 hrs 15 minutes and burgers never came. Only 1 Waitress for all these people. And on top of that she was rude. Longest wait in my life for a burger and never got it. read more

Absolutely gross! We came here three years ago when it was good and we wanted a burger. The onion rings were inedible (the worst I have ever eaten) and everything was fried in old cheap oil. I was wondering why most of the people who left the restaurant were leaving their fries and onion rings behind... Then my order was served and I knew why. The sourdough was just thick-cut white Texas toast. They put one slice of turkey on the entire sandwich and only one slice of bacon. The glass of wine was only 2 ounces compared to a standard 5-ounce pour. To get a full glass of wine there, it would have cost about $25. Mancos and Durango are foodie towns, so there's no reason for this place to serve subpar food like this! Thank goodness, a new burger joint is opening up in Mancos soon, which will close this place down so a better restaurant can take its place. read more

We stopped in coming from Mesa Verde National Park. It was a late dinner, around 8 pm. Dani L was our server and she was fantastic!. I had the tortellini with asparagus and pesto! So worth it I have net had it that way and would definitely order it again. Hubs had hamburger with fries. They keep the garden on the side which is always a plus. The burger was done more than he likes but was still tasty. The fries were excellent according to both of us. I also had 2 margaritas that were very tasty and the bill was less than $50. Excellent smash burgers and the best fries I've found in the four corners and beyond. The onion rings were crispy and light. Had the fried pickles for an appetizer, heavy batter, not sure but suspect they were frozen food service supplied. Ok taste but compared to their fries and onion rings definitely sub-par. The cod was ok too but again seemed to be a frozen pre-battered piece. You get three portions and they taste fine but my recommendation is to stick with the smash burgers, fries and onion rings. Those were the only items we sampled so there may other hidden jewels on the menu read more

The NEW Columbine Bar and Grill is fantastic. We were looking for a new place to go. Columbine is completely remodeled and refurbished. It has lots of tables and looks more like an eatery than a bar, although they do serve a wide selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks. We were met by Sierra our server who was very friendly and made suggestions and answered our questions. I chose the Texas BBQ Burger and onion rings. It was perfectly cooked, the bun was soft and looked home-baked, the sauce was great, and the onion rings were yummy. The owner, Brent, said he makes his own Whisky BBQ Sauce. My wife chose the Beer Battered Alaskan Fried Cod and it came with seasoned fries. She loved the fish. I took a taste of it and would order fried cod sometimes as well. The portions are very generous! I had a Two Hearted Ale which I liked and then tried a Colorado Native beer. Both were on tap. Unfortunately, we were too full to try the scrumptious-looking mini-pies made fresh every day at Mouse and More in Cortez. Brent, the owner, came to our table and we complimented him on his food. He took the time to tell us much more about his place. We appreciated that. We definitely will go to the Columbine often. Best food we had in this area read more

I'd like to start by first of all saying, I NEVER take the time to leave reviews, for better or for worse, but wow...we were so incredibly disappointed with the service that I would be doing a disservice to everyone to NOT leave a review. Our evening started off normal, waitress seemed nice enough. When we started to order, my husband and mom were both interested in the fish and chips, but they wanted to check on the portion size first, so when my husband asked how much food it comes with, our waitress told him 4-5 pieces of fish and a whole plate of fries. She also told us the sandwiches/burgers came with any side. I asked if there was an up charge for any of the sides to which she replied there was a $1 up charge for sweet potato fries and garlic fries. Well, upon looking at the menu, I read that the sweet potato fries and side salad were a $3 up charge--so very wrong information there. Then, our food came out, and both plates of fish and chips had only two pieces of fish and a very average looking amount of fries. Of course, this was mentioned to the waitress, and she replied, "yeah I was just noticing the same thing, I guess they changed it." And suggested nothing to resolve the miscommunication. We asked if there was anything that could be done since the plates were literally half the portion size promised, and it was like pulling teeth to get her to do anything about it. There was lots of polite back and forth suggestions/requests of how to make it right coming from our end, because the only thing she continued to come back with was they could bring us ONE extra side (fries, side salad, onion rings) as if that was going to make up for what was lacking. We even politely suggested if it would make it easier on her we would be happy to speak with the manager, which she declined. I have literally never experienced having to spell out the issue so clearly and several times to still be told there's nothing they can do to make it better. In the end when we got our check, they charged me extra for cheese on my CHEESEburger and when I pointed it out, the waitress really could not keep her attitude in check and told me that's just the way the computer does it if you order a different type of cheese than what naturally comes on the cheeseburger...even though every single type of cheese on the menu is listed as $1. Don't make excuses, just fix the problem. Overall entirely displeased with our experience. We were made out to be the bad guys and treated as if we were just annoyances, which granted I'm sure us asking was annoying, but I expect to get what I'm told I'm going to get, especially when ordering based off of information given by the waitress. Somebody dropped the ball--either the waitress doesn't know her information, or management does not do their job in educating and communicating any changes to their employees, but either way it was definitely a waste of our money and an uncomfortable experience for everyone involved. read more

I recently spent a night in Mancos and stayed at the Mancos Inn, which is diagonally across from the Columbine. I loved the place (both, actually) and wound up eating a few meals here. The food was great as was the service. They're pretty much the only game in town; luckily they do a great job. Stop in for a drink or meal and you won't be disappointed. read more
