Gahhhhhh Rossssssss!! I have had terrible experiences eating in, but have always been able to get Hot & Sour soup and Poo Poo Plater and it has been good. Not any more. The PooPoo Plater comes with Eggrolls, Wings, Fried Shrimp, Crab Rangoon, Meet on a Stick and Pork Ribs. All of it was soggy, greasy, nasty tasting and small ( the wings were 2.5"). I tried re-frying the deep fried items but the quality could not be improved. The Hot & Sour was neither and just gloopy. I have said it before, I will say it again. Don't Go! Don't waste your money. I've ordered takeout from Columbine Gardens many times. It's always been very good but I no longer order from them on Sunday evenings because it's consistently extremely watery as though they don't drain the broccoli or steamed chicken. Someone needs to speak to this . Regrettably no more Sunday night dinners. read more

This place was recommended by locals. I was skeptical and for a good reason. I have not had good Chinese food since I've lived here. I've had decent but not good. The wonton soup had cabbage in it I don't believe that I've tasted that much cabbage in a soup. The chicken was the same as most other Chinese food in Colorado Springs, it doesn't blend together. I could taste each part of the dish separately. Even the service was sub-par. We sat there for a while once we were done and no one came over until we went up to get to go boxes. We have been coming here for literally decades . Owners have changed but food tastes consistently satisfactory! The soup is our go to favorite along with noodles or fried rice . Crab wontons are an absolute must , but we like "potsticker sauce" for dipping instead of sweet sauce . Prices are cheaper than average too . Lunch is an especially good value. The food came out immediately. Note there is an old discount here on Yelp when you check in, but it is no longer valid. I got some spicy chicken, but needed it hotter. This was by far the worst Chinses takeout I have ever had the displeasure of tasting. I would give the restaurant a negative rating if I could. Let me detail a bit for you... The wonton soup consisted of the two smallest wontons I have ever seen. They were okay other than being lost in the serving container. I thought it was only one wonton at first glance. The broth was atrocious. I can't pinpoint the exact flavor, but it was disgusting. Have they ever washed the pot they cook it in?! And it was topped off with a pinch of shredded iceberg lettuce! The main course was chicken lo mein. However, the noodles and chicken showed no signs of any spices or sauces being added to the dish. However, there just a hint of an orange sweet sauce to the otherwise pasty white noodles and chicken in the serving container. Do they even wash their cooking vessels from the last order to the next? And vegetables....meh, what are those? The side dish was "fried" rice. This dish consisted of steamed rice with the faintest hint of soy sauce dripped into the frying pan for a matter of seconds. Most grains were barely touched by the soy sauce and had no hint of actually frying. Once again, vegetables....meh, what are those? Needless to say, but I ended up throwing 90% of this meal in the garbage where it belonged. I highly recommend you find another place to dine!! read more

Their Yelp Profile hasn't been updated in over 4 years! Hours are incorrect! And the "check in" free wonton soup is no longer honored! Despite this, THE FOOD IS AMAZING! Definitely eat here! The portions are great for what you pay- I always have to take a box home! The service is literally the fastest, most accommodating I've ever experienced. All their soups are so good. I got sweet and sour chicken, it was just heavenly! Fried rice with shrimp is also a safe bet. This place is a perfect example of not judging a restaurant by its appearance. The sketchy "Chinese restaurant" sign might be a turn off for the faint hearted,... GO INSIDE ANYWAY. You won't be disappointed. A solid stop for great Chinese food. read more

Went for take out. The food was ready quick. That was the best I could say. Fried rice was soggy Ang our main meals lacked quality. Lots of quantity but did not taste great. Although service was efficient I wouldn't expect much warmth but honestly doesn't really matter to me as long as the food is good and everything is done in a timely matter! They have really good shrimp here. Jumbo, slight slight crisp to the outside but tender. Their dumplings had a very clean flavor, spring rolls were fresh. Last time their cheese wontons were dry but this time they had the right ratio of filling and they were freshly fried. I want to come back and try the buffet! read more

My diarrhea made me post this, not my love for local businesses. I wanted to support a local place given our recent move to the area and it was a mistake. Generous portions but I'm glad my pregnant wife didn't share my meal. The orange chicken(which is supposed to be made from dark meat only, but not a big deal) was white meat only and basically a leftover sweet and sour chicken base, had me on the toilet more than once. Lava in my insides for hours. I saved the meal and foolishly tried it again to make sure my local Chinese spot I wanted to like was the culprit. It was. Will not return. Ever. If you can't serve food that isn't rotten, then you don't need to be open. I have children that could have eaten this food. What is wrong with your priorities????! read more

Food was meh, service upon entering was even more meh. During the virus we liked to support local mom and pop businesses. Unfortunately, this place didn't blow us away. First off, the entry was wrapped in so much plastic and created a strange vibe. The lady taking our payment was less than pleasant and was even more rude when we tried to redeem the check in offer. She said is was not valid and it was from old owners. Whelp, then I suggest taking it down or having some integrity and honoring it. Chance of us going back is slim. We've lived in Monument for 16 years and this place has always been consistent. I love their big pieces of sweet and sour chicken. I do wish that some of the staff was a bit nicer but overall, it's been good! My favorite and I can't wait to try their buffet!! read more

Not the "greatest ever" but certainly nothing to complain about! Service is fast and friendly, food tastes good, and you certainly get your money's worth! We ordered off the lunch menu. Our order came with the main dish, rice, soup, spring roll, and a wonton. It also came with complimentary hot tea, which was delicious. We had the tea and water with lunch. The duck sauce is good and the mustard is nice and spicy. Our total was less than $15 for two people and we both took our leftovers to go. The women who were working there were polite and smiling. I have ordered to go quite a few times from Columbine Gardens. Quality is OK. When you crave Chinese /American food closet place to me. Consistency is always lacking but hey beats Taco Bell. Never had problems till tonight when I ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken. Love that they separate chicken from sauce, however no sauce this time. 25 minutes to pickup round-trip. Called to tell no sauce. 45 minutes for them to tell me perhaps it was my fault. Dinner ruined stress level worse but they would not cater to me a return customer, until they played out all the bull they had. Would have been wonderful if I Had heard We are very sorry that we did not satisfy your experience with us and we promise to do everything right next time, or We are going to refund your cost for dinner because we care. I will wait for out come after call from credit card co. To much hassle that I shouldn't have gone thru. Heads Up Of course that did not happen until 45 minutes into their denial of any wrong doing. Trying to support the local non-chain restaurants during quarantine and I hadn't been to Columbine Gardens. Not a fan and won't be back. No real flavor to be honest and the meat was slimy. Both were spicy (1 extra spicy) beef dishes but weren't were marked, neither was spicy. read more

We go here often, the place is spotless, the food is so good. Whatever I order it's out in minutes, just looks so good when brought to the table. We drive 15 miles to get here, pass not sure how many Chinese food places we pass to get to Columbine Garden's,so worth the drive. read more

I hate to leave a bad review, but this is the last time and chance for this place. Before it was sold, it was the best. It wasn't overly greasy, oily, and everything tasted excellent. Now, everything basically tastes the same, is cooked just enough to make it edible, and is literally filled to the brim with oil. Do these people even use a wok anymore? It all literally tasted the same. We ate what we could (fried wontons are good... but who can screw that up?), and the rest is going to get thrown away. Nice way to waste $60. We have eaten here a number of times, in and take out. Each time the food has been great...zero complaints for this type of restaurant. Flavoring is great and we've not seen any problems with the flooring (Trevor P.). The real attraction here is the family that runs this place...they love their business and are truly customer-oriented. For this, as well as really good food, we are return customers. read more

This used to be our fav restaurant in Monument but the recent new ownership has been very disappointing. They've changed the menu and not enough people serve. We waited over 30-minutes to order and the portions were smaller and you could tell not cooked like the previous owner. After ordering it took about another 45-minutes to get the food but the worst part was the screaming (not just yelling, but screaming) from the kitchen.
