**Ambiance** The restaurant itself is a decent size with plenty of seating and large booths, so it would be comfortable for families or larger groups. **Service** Service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The staff spoke English as well as either Cantonese or Mandarin, which initially gave me high hopes for the food. **Food** I won't lie--I came in with pretty moderate expectations. After chatting with the staff in both Mandarin and Cantonese, I thought we were in for a really authentic meal. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We ordered five dishes, and it quickly became apparent that the food is heavily catered toward American tastes. Several dishes contained ingredients that traditionally wouldn't be included, while other key ingredients were missing altogether. The biggest issue for me was the sweetness. Three of the five dishes were noticeably sweet, which isn't what I expected from the dishes we ordered. The standout dish of the meal was the Mongolian Beef. It was flavorful and wasn't overly sweet. That said, it lacked the spice I typically associate with the dish. The Mapo Tofu was probably the biggest surprise. It was missing the ground pork that usually gives the dish so much flavor and texture. Instead, it included bell peppers, onions, and water chestnuts--ingredients I've personally never seen in Mapo Tofu. Rather than being spicy and numbing, the dominant flavor was sweetness. The Chicken Pan-Fried Noodles were difficult to enjoy. The sauce was very sweet, and the noodles were cooked to the point where they were tough and chewy. Instead of the thinner noodles commonly used for this dish, they used thick noodles that reminded me more of lo mein. We also ordered a Beef and Scallion dish. It felt more like a beef chop suey variation with scallions added. The scallions themselves were cooked perfectly, but once again the sauce leaned much sweeter than expected. The Hot and Sour Soup was actually the first item to arrive. I jokingly told my family that if the soup wasn't good, I might be worried about the rest of the meal because hot and sour soup is one of those dishes that really showcases balance and technique. Unfortunately, it ended up confirming my concerns. It lacked the bold sour and spicy flavors that make the dish so enjoyable. By the end of the meal, we had a lot of leftovers. The only items we brought home were the Mongolian Beef and a few pieces of beef picked out from the Beef and Scallion dish. **Overall** This restaurant may appeal to diners who enjoy sweeter, Americanized Chinese food, but it wasn't for me. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't personally recommend it to anyone looking for the flavors and dishes I grew up eating. read more

The wonton soup was delicious with two wrll stuffed tender wontons and flavorful broth. Egg rolls were nicely fried. This is not authentic Chinese food. It's a poor imitation of Americanized Chinese cuisine. We started with the Chinese spareribs, which had the potential to be good, but they were smothered in an overwhelming sauce. I ordered the pan-fried dumplings, which were mushy and tasteless. They weren't pan-fried at all--just deep-fried. Pan-fried dumplings have a distinct look and texture, and these clearly did not. The Mongolian beef tasted more like black pepper beef, and it was not enjoyable. My wife ordered the chicken with garlic sauce, which had no flavor whatsoever. On the positive side, the service was attentive, the tables were clean, and the décor consisted of generic tourist-style paintings. This is the best Chinese I have had in a very long time! 2 of our entrees had special instructions and they were perfect. Often a Chinese restaurant that has Pad Thai will not make it correctly. This was perfect! I also noticed that if a restaurant has Pad Thai they also offer summer/spring rolls, which tend to go hand in hand. But again they don't make them right. These were not offered. I was actually happy to see this. Knowing that everything we have had here has been perfect, my thought is that if they can't make the dish perfect, then they don't do it. Now that I have discovered dragon king I feel at peace because I know my Chinese cravings will always be satisfied. The tofu pad Thai was flavorful and unique in that it didn't have bean sprouts or lime, but instead was served with lemon that added a sweet citrus aftertaste. I enjoyed the veggies mixed in and it wasn't spicy (not sure if you can ask for more spice). The general tsos tofu was phenomenal and knocked my socks off! It is one of my favorite dishes to begin with and dragon king blew it out of the water. The sauce is so good and a little bit sweet. The tofu in both dishes was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Lots of veggies in the tofu dish as well and accompanied by a side of steamed rice. It wouldn't be a true Chinese feast without vegetarian egg rolls, which had the most audible crunch and great flavor. So tasty to dip the hot tasty egg roll in the sweet and sour sauce. My wife and I ordered from Dragon King for Christmas Eve, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. We placed an order for four people at 4:30 pm for a 6:00 pm delivery. Dragon King advertises delivery times of 30-45 minutes, so we doubled that to account for the holiday. We even timed homemade side dishes to be ready at 6:00 pm. By 6:20 pm, there was still no food. When I called, it was obvious the restaurant was overwhelmed. The employee first said they hadn't started the order and would do so now, but then backpedaled and claimed it was in process. The contradiction didn't inspire confidence, so I drove to the restaurant to pick it up myself. When I arrived, around 20 people were waiting. In person, I was told - again - that my order hadn't been started and would take another 30-40 minutes. A few minutes later, the food suddenly appeared. At the time, I was just relieved to get it and didn't check the contents thoroughly. When I got home, I found out they forgot one of our entrees and the lettuce for the lettuce wraps. The food we did receive was mediocre at best. I ended up paying for a dish we never got, a delivery fee for food I had to pick up an hour late, and 20% tip on top of it all. No apology, no attempt to make it right, not even a small extra to acknowledge the inconvenience. I understand being busy on Christmas Eve, but this isn't a new restaurant. They should know how to handle high-volume nights. This felt like a complete lack of preparation and basic organization. I can't recommend Dragon King. Our family chose to eat here tonight and we really wanted to love it. But we were incredibly disappointed, both in the quality of food and the service we received. After finding a hair in our food and pointing it out to the server(quietly and respectfully), absolutely nothing was done to correct the issue aside from taking the plate off the table. Not even an apology. We asked for the bill and I was shocked to see the server added 18% gratuity. I asked why, and she said it was because we are a large group (2 adults+3 kids under 10) I mentioned that nowhere in the restaurant or on the menu does it say gratuity would be added for 5+ people and we were not told when being seated to at least have the option to stay. Furthermore, we ordered one soda (no refill) and didn't even get the boba drinks until we got the bill. And we didn't even get to finish or enjoy our food before losing our appetites because of the hair. The server was rude, argumentative and had an attitude and said "this time" she would remove the gratuity but still could not make the total charges add up or explain the discrepancy. She insisted I look at the broken calculator she brought to the table which still wasn't adding up. When we asked to speak to a manager, the server informed us there was no manager and she was the highest person we could speak to regarding our concerns, yet she offered no apology or solution whatsoever, had zero customer service and acted completely unprofessionally. Any reputable establishment who cares about their customers experience would have at least TRIED to make things right. I regret going here and do not feel like it was money well spent.
