    Chinese spareribs
    Jerry L.

This is not authentic Chinese food. It's a poor imitation of Americanized Chinese cuisine. We started with the Chinese spareribs, which had the potential to be good, but they were smothered in an overwhelming sauce. I ordered the pan-fried dumplings, which were mushy and tasteless. They weren't pan-fried at all--just deep-fried. Pan-fried dumplings have a distinct look and texture, and these clearly did not. The Mongolian beef tasted more like black pepper beef, and it was not enjoyable. My wife ordered the chicken with garlic sauce, which had no flavor whatsoever. On the positive side, the service was attentive, the tables were clean, and the décor consisted of generic tourist-style paintings. If you enjoy low-quality Chinese food, you might consider dining here. Personally, I can't recommend this place, and I will not be returning.

    Chicken lo-mein and Hunan chicken.
    Randall B.

Not great. The Hunan chicken was mostly shredded onion and peppers. Very little chicken. Maybe an ounce of actual chicken. The portion of the Hunan chicken was noticeably smaller. Even the container was smaller (pictured) than the chicken lo-mein. The chicken lo-mein was waxy and had a funky plastic flavor. Not a fan. For the price of $16 each I was pretty disappointed. The value combined with the mentioned issues doesn't have me wanting to return. The place was clean, bright and lots of parking but for me, this just wasn't it.

Ordered take out from this place for the first time. Fried rice was not fried rice it was just white rice mixed with soy sauce. The crab cheese wonton had zero crab in them it was just filled with cream cheese and nothing else.

    Beef and broccoli

We've had dragon king a few times , and their food always hits the spot but lately The quality or effort just doesn't seem the seem.

Honestly the food here was not very good. We were looking forward to it since the reviews were so good, but my pad Thai had no flavor or seasonings whatsoever and my husband's Mongolian beef was the same way. The pad Thai was extremely dry, and I usually like a saucier pad Thai. But it's just my preference, you may really enjoy it. I will say that the egg drop soup and rangoons were very good though.

Our first time here. ABSOLUTELY MUST COME BACK. This basically a new restaurant in the Springs area and we very strongly recommend it. We tried the steamed dumplings, beef skewers, fried shrimp and chicken wings also. YES their menu is fantastic and the establishment is very very clean. The staff has been great as well. Did I mention they had our food out fast and you can tell the make it here. NO boxed or frozen prepackaged stuff in here. TRY IT NOW!!!

    (Lunch) Beef Lo Mein

We love eating out at family owned restaurants. We saw Dragon King on Yelp and had to try it. We gave not found a great Chinese food in CO. Springs until we ate here. The restaurant was very clean and staff very friendly and quick to help us. The food was unbelievable good. I got the Gen Tso's Chicken and my wife got Lo Mein Beef. The flavor just popped in your mouth and I knew we found our Chinese restaurant.

    General Tso's Chicken

The food was hot and delicious! Ordered lunch consisted of beef lo mein & General Tso's chicken. The plates were brimming with food. Service was outstanding. The restaurant was welcoming, clean, & surprisingly well organized.

Now that I have discovered dragon king I feel at peace because I know my Chinese cravings will always be satisfied. I ordered takeout from here the last night and found it friendly, affordable and delicious. My order exceeded expectations and all of the staff were genuine and friendly. The tofu pad Thai was flavorful and unique in that it didn't have bean sprouts or lime, but instead was served with lemon that added a sweet citrus aftertaste. I enjoyed the veggies mixed in and it wasn't spicy (not sure if you can ask for more spice). The general tsos tofu was phenomenal and knocked my socks off! It is one of my favorite dishes to begin with and dragon king blew it out of the water. The sauce is so good and a little bit sweet. The tofu in both dishes was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Lots of veggies in the tofu dish as well and accompanied by a side of steamed rice. It wouldn't be a true Chinese feast without vegetarian egg rolls, which had the most audible crunch and great flavor. So tasty to dip the hot tasty egg roll in the sweet and sour sauce. The meal was ended with a tasty fortune cookie Huge portions so you will have leftovers even if you eat multiple servers. Such a great value. I am making this my new spot for Chinese food!

I would love to shout out our waitress, however, I don't know her name. But she was the perfect balance of attentiveness and understanding that we were probably on a first date with how much we kept talking. She was really sweet on taking our orders, and checking in on us. For drinks my day got an old old-fashioned, which I ended up trying- and it was pretty good. I personally got the Cosmo and it was decent. I'm generally more of a gin and tonic, but it was still delicious. For food, we got the fried mac & cheese, balls, and crab stuffed mushrooms. Both had such a great flavor. And I think our favorite was dipping the bread from the crab, stuffed mushrooms in the garlic mixture at the. For entrée, my date got the halibut. And honestly, the sauce was amazing. For my lobster rolls they were both very fresh and delicious. But honestly, I could not eat both. Overall, this was such a great place for our first date, and I would honestly be back for more of the food and the best service. The only knock a star was truly for price point. It's definitely on the price your side even going at lunchtime.

We highly recommend Bonny and Read in downtown Colorado Springs for a wonderful dining experience.

The food, however, has declined significantly since I ate there a few years ago. The BangBang shrimp was still quite good, but my Lily's chicken was rubbery and dry, and seemed to be one of those prepackaged cutlets that likely was microwaved. The broccoli was dry and overcooked, and the mashed potatoes were over salted and tasted like they were prepared from a dehydrated mix. My friend's MahiMahi was only so-so and disappointing. We hoped the Crème Brûlée would rescue the meal, but unfortunately, it was runny, overly sugared and poorly prepared. It makes me sad to write this review of a restaurant I once thought was great.

The salad bar has about everything you could wish and the Brazilian lemonades are top notch. Passion fruit and raspberry are my personal favorites. This is one of our go to stops in Colorado Springs and in the past we've attended their chefs night, where we got to try delicacies from different regions, which was a lot of fun. Wheelchair accessibility: in general this restaurant is actually very accessible. The front doors are heavy and there's a double door set up but plenty of room between the two doors to navigate. The front desk is very high so someone in a shorter chair or short statured might have a harder time getting someone's attention. The door to the bathroom is very light and there's an accessible stall, but the soap in the bathroom is out of reach. The largest impediment to your culinary experience would probably be that the salad bar counter is too high for an average wheelchair user or little person. I'm sure the staff would help or you could have somebody in your party assist, but it would be difficult to navigate on your own. There are several accessible parking spots.

They have a very nice salad bar, with side dishes to go along with the meat. We love Brazilian barbecues, and I've been going to them for almost all of my adult life. The problem with this place, at least for us, is that they hardly brought us any beef. We were there for almost a half hour before the first guy came by with meat. He gave me a little sliver of sirloin that was about the size of half a strip of bacon. About 15 minutes later somebody gave me a cold chunk of turkey wrapped in bacon. And then somebody came by with some roasted pineapple which we weren't interested in. Suffice it to say, we only got small little slivers of beef, and this was frustrating because what we did receive tasted great, but they hardly ever came by and the slices they gave us were extremely small. We were basically starving to death and so we ended up having to feed ourselves from the salad bar. I had a black bean soup that was pretty good, and a salad. I would say in the hour and a half we were there I didn't get 6 ounces of beef. My wife and daughters had given up in pretty much up on waiting for meat and they just snacked on the salad bar stuff. So they got even less. Given the price point on this lunch, it was not a good deal at all. I mentioned to one of the guys who cut the meat at the table that we really wanted some more steak. He gave a very insolent response, with a scowl and a shrug of the shoulders. Very bad vibes. Would I go here again? Maybe we just caught the place on a bad day. But there were only a handful of other patrons there while we were there, and so I don't know why the service was so horrible. It was not a good experience and it wasn't worth even a fraction of what we paid. This was more of a salad bar experience than it was a Brazilian barbecue. I maybe would try this place one more time because I love Brazilian barbecues, and to the best of my knowledge there are none other in the area. But overall it was a very bad experience and I only give it two stars because the salad bar was acceptable.

Drink orders were taken right away, and everyone received their drinks except my fiancé. He eventually just ordered a different drink instead. We placed our food order around 7:15, but the appetizers came out one by one instead of together, which already set the tone for the night. Our main courses didn't arrive until around 9:00 PM, almost two hours later. On top of that, two of our dishes were completely forgotten and had to be re-rung and brought out even later. We didn't plan on spending over two hours at dinner, but at that point we didn't have much of a choice. The food itself was actually very good, but not for the price. For a party of 7 where everyone only had one drink, our bill came out to over $1,450, nearly $210 per person. At that price point, there really isn't room for this many mistakes. It was also very obvious that the restaurant was understaffed. One woman was running the entire top floor by herself, taking orders and making drinks. That's not fair to the staff or the guests. Overall, the potential is there, but the service and staffing need major improvement, especially for such an expensive dining experience.
