We discussed my prior accidents and they were even in the quote itself about 2 days later I get a "quote adjustment" for 47$ they claim they (found) more point on my license and another day later I got the next months bill already and I can clearly see it says it needs to be paid by June 12th otherwise it's canceled. My home policy had a 2% wind deductible and they gave me a quote from Erie with the same deductible as the other coverages. That 2% would be over $5000 and my normal deductible is $1000. Also they had a better car replacement coverage on my car. If my car gets totalled, I get a car 2 years newer. They explained a lot of coverage that noone ever took the time to explain.

The office was very responsive as I was in the process of leaving my other insurance company to…read moregive them my home and auto insurance. We were in contact for about 2 months as we worked through the process. 6 weeks after I paid, they raised my homeowners insurance rate by $96. We had no claims and no changes. I was notified by a bill (no phone call or email explanation) that simply said "policy change". I called and was told an inspector had changed my home type to 2-story (it is not) and she (another agent in the office) can appeal the decision. I'm disappointed that the agent didn't review or question the inspector's report prior to the change which was wrong. Additionally the inspector reported a different roof shingle and the agent claimed I told her the wrong shingle type. I do not recall a shingle discussion but I am confident I didn't quote a shingle type as I don't know anything about shingles. The months we worked on this quote would have been the correct time to verify any issues, not after I pay and leave my old insurance company of 20 years. I expressed disappointment that I'm using a local agent rather than an online company and was hoping to have better service and a relationship. I asked that she think about what could be done different so that an issue like this doesn't happen again. Her reply was that she would let me know what would happen with the appeal. No apologies were given and no reassurance that my future experience with them would be better. I opened the door and gave them the opportunity to show me some good customer service and empathy for the situation and they did not. People and businesses make mistakes and things happen, but the true test is how it is handled afterward.
