Bánh cuốn and bún bò Huế
    Felix B.

Food: it's one of the only restaurants around that sells bánh cuốn (rice rolls)! It was okay, certainly not the best. For one, I wish the nước chấm (sauce for rice rolls) had peppers and garlic, but it had a nice amount of sweetness. ALSO, I did like the addition of bánh chưng added a nice crunch to contrast the soft rice rolls. Service: lady was sweet and checked on us frequently Ambiance: looks a lil run down. But that's usually a green flag for viet restaurants Ifykyk.

Com Mai is 100% a Vietnamese establishment that has the pungent smell of shrimp paste lingering at all times and the quick movements/conversation of workers bustling around. They'll not cater to you if you don't speak Vietnamese or know what you're doing. You don't come here for the customer service. Honestly, it was kind of fun. We called the restaurant and defaulted to speaking English to ask if they were open, the response back was "I don't speak English" and then she hung up. I laughed it off and headed to the restaurant. I do speak Vietnamese so I had that advantage and we ordered a duck salad (gơi), fresh rice noodles with pork sausage (banh ướt or cuốn), and the special broken rice platter (cỏm tấm đặc biệt). Food was phenomenal. So fresh, so clearly homemade. Everything that was suppose to be crisp was extra crisp and refreshing. The rice platter was grilled perfectly. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the pricing was actually more expensive then expected. The broken rice platter was 17$ which is fine and I'll pay for it again however, for the type of establishment it was (location, customer service, cleanliness, does not cater to anyone) I really thought the dish would be more on the 13$ range!

Bun mam - fermented noodle soup
    Elana T.

It's one of my favorite restaurants when I crave for a decent Vietnamese food. The service is hit & miss. I like their fermented noodle soup. My sis loved her dish - canh bún. The texture is very similar to crab noodle soup but with watercress

Cơm tắm đặt biệt (special rice combo)
    Kristy T.

There is one staff in front and two cooks in the kitchen at the time we went, so it took a while for the food to come out. The service was okay but it was understandable because we came near the closing time. The price for each dish was almost the same as other Vietnamese restaurants. All right! The main characters: The special rice combo was decent and the BBQ pork had this smoky flavor. The plateting tho felt like something's missing. The noodle was delicious and BBQ pork was the same as with special rice combo. The fermented fish noodle is smelly in a good way. The broth was sweet and it had eggplants, shrimps, fish slices, and noodles. The noodle with a side of duck salad was best dish. The broth was clear and had a neutral taste, not too sweet nor savory. The tender, juicy pieces of duck dipping in the spicy ginger sauce was 10/10. Overally, definitely try this place out but come early. Last time we went were 8:30 PM.

Braised Duck Soup with Egg Noodles

The food is amazing! I frequently order both the braised duck soup with egg noodles (M1) and the 8 special dishes with broken or steamed rice (C1) and have yet to be disappointed. The service is quick with nice hot tea during the cold months and refreshingly ice cold water during the hot months that is served soon after you sit down. The ambiance of the restaurant is comfortable and calming. This has stayed the same for all of the times that I went to eat here with both family or friends. I always leave feeling like I have had a great meal.

Banh uot, pretty good but there was a lot of bean sprouts
    Huie N.

I came for the banh uot and was not disappointed. Com Mai reminds me of a family home, maybe it's the decor choices or maybe it's that the food tastes pretty homey but regardless I enjoyed it. This is what I would consider Vietnamese comfort food. I ordered the shrimp roll, tua hu Tom (shrimp paste fried and wrapped in tofu skin), banh uot, and my friend had the bo luc lac. We both agreed that the veggies was a bit much but the main entrees were delicious. The portions were fair though for the dishes we had. Com mai gets high marks for me bc it's unique in that it serves and highlights other Vietnamese dishes that is not what you'd typically get from common Vietnamese restaurants. Ample seating, there'a plenty booths and tables. I went on a Thursday evening and there was only one server but food came out quickly and service was good. Keep doing what you're doing Com Mai

    Banh cuon- pork rice rolls
    Jackie S.

I have been to this place at least 5 times in the past. The food is always so good. My favorites includes com tam dac biet-special rice plate, banh cuon-rice rolls, bun tom thit nuong-vermicelli with grilled shrimp and grilled pork, goi cuon, thit nuong cuon-grilled pork spring rolls, and bun mam-special fish vermicelli soup. This is good homestyle cooking!

    Bun Mam: Vietnamese gumbo
    Cindy T.

Solid Vietnamese restaurant if you're craving those hard to find authentic Vietnamese dishes. Their com tam (broken rice) dish with their grilled pork chop is AWESOME. Literally the best I've had in Atlanta. They make a great Bun Mam (Vietnamese gumbo) and Bun Mang Vit (Noodle soup with duck and bamboo shoots). I also tried their Mi Quang for the first time recently and thought it was interesting. Definitely give them a try if you're craving something more authentic!

    Bun Mang Vit
    Karyzma P.

This is my family's go-to spot when we're jonesin' for some Bun Mang Vit, which is a duck noodle soup with young bamboo shoots and pork blood. The broth is well-seasoned and aromatic with vermicelli noodles and garnished with fried onions, green onions, and cilantro. The duck is always so tender and it's served on a separate plate with bean sprouts, basil, pickled carrots and radish, and a lime wedge. The sweet chili dipping sauce is for the duck and provides a really nice contrast when combined with the noodle soup. The authentic food and no-frills, fast service make this a great place to stop in for a quick bite.
