My daughter had a fever (day 5) and was not at her normal baseline. She was tested for COVID and flu. Both resulted as negative. We were told it was a virus and that was it. No directions on follow up if things get worse from the appointment or what over the counter meds to take. The mid-level provider just told us we were free to go. I was very disappointed. One week later, my daughter was still ill and I had her follow up with her pediatrician. Her pediatrician did a respiratory culture and ordered a chest x-ray. We found out my daughter tested positive for mycoplasma pneumonia and the chest x-ray confirmed. She was finally prescribed antibiotics since it was a bacterial infection.

I have been a patient of Dr Birdwell for a good number of years, my mother was also a patient of his until she passed away in March 2013. I cannot imagine changing doctors for any reason. Then Katherine (nurse practitioner) entered the room with a big smile! She spent an hour and forty five minutes with me and was incredibly down to earth and thorough! I still can't believe the amount of care I received at this appointment. I can honestly say I have never experienced a doctor's visit like this one. Katherine actually listened to me in such a concerned and caring way. When I mentioned I had chest pains a few weeks ago she immediately ordered an EKG. They said my symptoms meant I needed a telehealth apt which is okay I understand. I received two text. One said I had a balance to pay before I was seen. The next said it's almost time for your apt. I called the front desk to let them know I was in the parking lot for my 6:25 apt and she didn't ask my name just said okay I'll let them know and hung up. I called back at 6:35 and was informed I was removed from the list for not paying. They never called to tell me. I sat in their parking lot for 45 minutes feeling like complete crap and only found out because I called. Due to covid they keep their doors locked so I couldn't just run inside to pay. I figured they would contact me at the time of my apt to pay. Finally saw Dr. Via telehealth. My symptoms were a cross of covid and strep. They ran both and said they'd call with results. Dr did not do any type of physical exam. Just assumed covid. I was sent home with mucinex samples and cough drops and told if they don't call in 72 hours to call them. So no point in going to the dr. At all. And what kind of urgent care has to advertise free lollipops.
