She organized all of my insurance coverage, even calling them to get more information. I thought I had just got her on a good day. Nope! When I went in for my appt she was there and was just as awesome as well as all the wonderful ladies behind the desk. Not to mention they have the newest and coolest massage chair I've ever been in! So that gives them a 5 start just for that! Once all the insurance was cleared up and I went in for my appt it continued to be extremely enjoyable and fun. There have been times I came for a check up and I had a few issues and instead of waiting weeks to come back for a cavity the dentists made room and time to do it immediately . I was impressed ! Dealing with them and my Insurrance is easy and pain free . The dentists and other staff are all friendly and happy ! They even treat kids and teenagers differently ! I have been going to Petrolia Dental for two years now, and am still somewhat undecided as to how I feel about them. First off, I love how easy it is to schedule appointments at the office. My previous dentist required booking at least eight months ahead of time for cleanings and it was such a headache when you got within a month of your appointment only to find out you had a scheduling conflict. My first check-up last year went well, and I felt comfortable returning to the office for a couple of fillings. I felt like the staff was friendly and competent and that the office was clean and welcoming. My second visit earlier this year was less than stellar. My cleaning was very pleasant, but the dentist was running behind and I had to sit and chat with my hygenist for 45 minutes while waiting for my check-up. When Dr. Varughese finally got to see me, she was very agitated at how behind she was, and spent exactly two minutes on my mouth (there was a clock behind her on the wall). She told me I needed fillings and started to leave, and I had to ask her to stay to explain to me where the fillings were, and how many were needed. It was kind of a burn to pay for a check-up and feel like I was barely looked at. The fillings went ok. Afterwards I had a massive headache and the next morning my gums were bruised black and purple where they had done the filling. It was nearly a week before the swelling and bruising went down enough for me to close my mouth and chew. I don't know if this is "normal" for my mouth, but it certainly was unpleasant. I am willing to return to Petrolia for my next check-up and cleaning, but if I don't feel my mouth is getting the best quality of care, I will be looking for a new dentist.
