I had to take my time writing this review... I decided to approach it from a very raw and real stand point. Sometimes there are moments or situations that happen in life that make us feel like we hit a brick wall. In those moments the most random people pop up and step forward to help just when they are needed. On April 20, 2020 we lost my husbands brother to suicide. Time had already slowed with Covid-19 spreading, but on this day, the world stopped spinning for us. We stepped into what would be a tornado of emotions, pain, and hurt over the following weeks. We had to figure out how to my brother-in-laws truck home along with his personal effects as we live 1,800 miles away from where he passed. We discovered that his truck had been sitting for a few months with a dead battery and was in desperate need of tlc to get running. The only way to get her (the truck is named ol' Betsy) her home was to drive her and pull the personal items home in a Uhaul. A truck that we had never laid eyes on and had been sitting for a few months. The thought of driving 1,800 miles home in it was just... well it scared the shit out of me. But, knew how absolutely imperative it was for my husband to have a piece of his brother. We had to get Betsy. I searched around online from home in Arizona looking for a good mechanic in Lexington. I crossed Come To You Auto Repair and gave them a call. A man named Rob answered. I started telling him this story... about the death, the hurt, the truck , the things... I cried a little and apologized for the emotion. And you know what? He listened with compassion. COMPASSION. He cared. About it all. He took the job and headed to work on the truck before our arrival to drive her home. After a few days, Rob had it done. No overcharging, no bumping up prices on parts, answered EVERY QUESTION and EVERY PHONE CALL.... So, we get there on June 3. Truck was all good. We drove her home. !,889 miles in Ol' Betsy. Rob checked on us daily to make sure we were ok throughout our journey as we broke up the miles per day. Compassion and care. I don't know what to say as I am choked up now writing this. It was all an emotional journey. Rob, I told you to thank your mother for me, and I meant that. You are a kind, hard-working, good soul. I appreciate everything that you did for us. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! I'd share no stars if I could, I think not installing any bolts back speaks for itself. None on my caliber when they changed the breaks and missing bolts on the new cv axle they installed. They where a joke and stole $1,700 with the crappy work. A couple of the guys there had track marks on their arms was definitely high on some meth. I didn't get a picture of my caliber bolts that were missing as well and on the interstate is where I pulled over to find that it was freely swinging bouncing off of my tire. SCAM ALERT! They charged $200 to come out and said any labor would come out of that amount. The owner, Robert, told me I needed to replace the wiring harness and he'd try to find one, charge me for the part... or if if I got the part he'd come back and put it on at no charge since I already paid the $200. Problem is he never came back. I contacted him repeatedly, and each time he always had the excuse that he's been too busy and promised to come back, but he never did and never bothered to follow up. As for the wiring harness, it wasn't needed. Another mechanic said the broken wire just needed to be reattached, which he did for free. Robert is either incompetent or planned on ripping me off for a part he knew I didn't need. Robert, I reported you to the KY Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. read more

If I could give this mechanic 0 starts I definitely would. I called a service to just fuel, oil level (driver ran out of fuel) This mechanic 1st towed the truck without my approval, after I told him specifically not to move the truck. So, the truck just needed to fuel. However, this mechanic was priming the truck to start it without fuel and all the dirt on the bottom of the fuel tanks ended up clogging an entire system. I was told he would charge me $350, but at the we got charged $1625.00 for causing all that damage to the truck which ran out of diesel!!! Not to mention he trethened that he would confiscate the truck and that he would charge me a fortune to get it back!! We went thru a hell to tow the truck to another shop, clean all the fuel lines just thanks to him. ***I am in this business 15 this is the worst mechanic I ever dealt with. They had to come back 3 times because they didn't have the right tool, so they towed my vehicle to Frankfurt. They said it was the rear end and the bill would be 2300.00. I kept calling and mailing to get their address and never heard back. I finally reported the van stolen and the sheriff's department called them; they quickly changed their tune. Complete rIp off artists. Charged $1100 to replace 4 rotors & 4 sets of brake pads of which 2 got replaced. Charged another $550 to replace 2 front calipers of which neither got replaced. I will be reporting them to the attorney general, to the BBB, and I will also be posting Buyer Beware Ads over the next few months on Craigslist auto services, (which had I found out that they were on craigslist before hand, I would have never called them In the 1st place). If they have any other online listings, I'll post on those as well. They did less than $650 worth of work on my vehicle and took the $1650 they had quoted as the maximum cost it would be for everything that they were supposed to do, as well as another $100 tip that I had informed my wife to give them when they were done with what they were stating would be done & that they were supposed to do. They didn't leave an invoice / receipt, yet walked out with $1750 in cash that my wife gave them (that I had left with her for their payment). They will not respond now that they've taken my $. They left one of my lug nuts off. They didn't replace either of the front end calipers yet charged not only as if they had but also as if they had to have those front pistons pressed onto the calipers by a shop. They then had the audacity to tell me that my existing front end calipers were new, as they had rebuilt them onsite because they are out to make money. "Really". I'm more than aware you are out to make $, and as much of it as you can, regardless of what your actually doing for it. They also didn't replace either rear rotor or either set of rear brake pads. Instead they scattered debris around the rear tires to make it look as if they had been worked on. Overpriced. Unreliable. Untrustworthy. Nearly doubled the original quote after starting the job. Didn't do what the said they would do. Do not use this service. I will not be using them again. Update based on response on another platform: I was quoted $200 initially, but that was raised to $350 after the work was started (Overpriced). At that point I was going to have to pay the $200 anyway, so I was basically stuck. Based on other reviews this appears to be part of your business plan. Additional, your tech told me that he would return the following day to install a new starter, but never showed and would not answer my calls. If he did not intend to return, he should not have told he would (unreliable & untrustworthy). Now you can add unethical to list for posting my address publicly without my permission. You are correct that I'm unhappy about getting a defective starter, but that did not have anything to do with my review of your company. I'm not one to air dirty laundry on Facebook, but I feel I should warn people of this business. On Friday 11/12/2021 I contacted Come to You Auto about a possible brake job. I had been to Firestone across the street from where I work who quoted me over 900.00. Not looking to pay that much I reached out to someone local. When the mechanic David came out to look at my vehicle he told me I needed a new caliper and brake pads. They quoted me a price, 558 and some odd cents. I paid through CASHAPP, 559.00. I was eager to get my car fixed. The mechanic David left to get the parts and come back. When he returned the caliper he got wasn't the correct one. Robert the owner, I assume, called to say the part was ordered from a dealership in Frankfort and would be here Tuesday. Monday rolls around and I message Robert checking about my part, he supposedly had talked to him and it was being shipped out of DC, would be here Tuesday. Tuesday comes and I text him.. any word on my part? No response. Instead he calls saying he's called and checked and it hadn't been delivered. I call him back around 3:30 to check on my part, it's still not been delivered but he would call me back around 5. Around 4:45 I decided to call the dealership myself to check on the part. I was told the part wasn't ordered on Friday, it was ordered on Tuesday. So, Mr. Warring didn't order the part on Friday like he said. When I called to confront him about this information he said.. Well when I called they said it didn't matter if I ordered on Friday or Monday, it still wouldn't be here until Tuesday. He seemed upset that I had called the dealership personally to check on my part. We even three wayed the dealership so he could talk to them. One of the comments made from Robert was.. I have an accent so they might have put it under a different name. I have had an accent all my life, and I have always spelled my name out if there was any trouble understanding hillbonics. I explain to him that I would like him to call today and speak with the gentlemen he spoke to on Friday to see where the confusion was. He assured me he would. Last night I had another mechanic come out and look at the car, as it has been sitting in my work parking lot since Friday. He explained he could fix it and would only charge me parts for everything I've been through. I spoke with the manager of the parts department today.. once again the part wasn't ordered on Friday, it was ordered on Tuesday. He said.. The part is right here next to me but it's not been paid for. So where did my money go? I have messaged Robert and David and asked for a refund. I have yet to receive a refund of 459. I did receive a refund Saturday of 100.00, because I was faced with looking to Uber to Georgetown daily or rent a vehicle. Robert Warring is a master manipulator. He should win an award for the tricks he pulls off! Anyone reading reviews should use caution when considering him because you will notice a trend. He will get a bad review then have a couple friends/family write good reviews. His reviews only consists of 1 & 5 stars reviews so you can clearly tell something sketchy is going on. I wish we had paid attention more to the 1 star reviews because we would have never wasted our time. My partner and Robert agreed that he would come look at our car for $200. During the initial encounter, he inspected the car, and they agreed that we would order the part needed, and he would take care of the labor. The fee was paid at that time, and we have never seen him since. My partner informed him on a Tuesday that the part came in and Robert AGREED to come in that SAME day. He never showed up and informed us that "it was getting dark" and he would come the next day. These excuses continued for SEVEN DAYS STRAIGHT. He would promise that he was coming and claim that he was on his way, but by the end of the day there would be a new excuse as to why he was not coming. He then stopped answering my partners texts and calls. The only way we were able to get a hold of him was by using alternate numbers because he was trying to avoid the situation. LUCKILY, I have recorded the calls between him and my partner and have evidence of the treatment we received. BUT please consider the rest of the 1 star reviews, and do not put yourself in the situation to be scammed by Robert. read more

Not recommended, I was charged 200.00 in advance and now work was here done. They told me it was an ignition coil. I took it to another mechanic and it was actually the fuel pump that was bad. They never checked the part just made a guess and said I would have to pay 300.00 for the part. They are never on time and won't bother to call and let you know that they won't make it out. No receipts are given so you can't prove they did something wrong. But they do cashed your check that same day it is given. read more

Worst experience. I had an AC problem and these guys came to diagnose and fix. All they did was recharge the compressor, then I paid. By the way, the price they charge was much higher than a typical shop. I'm fine with that. Problem was the issue came back. It was leaking somewhere. After lots of phone calls, and missed appointments (they said they'd show up and never did..,this happened at least 2-3 times), they finally came and said they needed to replace the compressor. It was $1000. Well, they replaced it, showed my wife the old compressor, and we called it a day. The problem came back in 1 week. I'm convinced all they did was recharge the AC, show my wife an old spare compressor, didn't actually do the work and took our money. So be very cautious with these guys. I can't say for sure this is what occurred, but we spent lots of money and time on a problem that was never resolved. read more

Should change the name of the business to come to @#$% you auto repair. I hired Rob and his guy come out to look at my rv that was behind my house and couldn't be towed on 3/28/21. He came out a couple days later and looked at it and said i needed a new hydrobooster, so he ordered a new hydrobooster installed it and then tells me that my master cylinder exploded in the hydrobooster causing it to ruin the new hydrobooster, so now he tells me I need a new master cylinder and gearbox, so I take his word for it we come to a agreement on price and he was going to have me and my rv on the road. Weeks go by he won't answer my texts (and that's hilarious I've never seen him without his phone in his hand) EVER!! So the parts house he used had supposedly sent the booster back, then got the wrong one, so finally he gets the supposedly correct part. Then before he can put it on his truck goes into the shop, there all day supposedly, and didn't show up that day, a few un answered phone calls and unanswered texts he finally gets back and says all his help quit. And it's a 2 man job. So he attempted to come out on the following week. Traffic was too bad so he turned around and went home. Said ill be out tomorrow, tomorrow was the Ky Derby didn't expect him to show but he did. Him and his help put everything on put fluid in the master cylinder, tried to bleed the breaks and couldn't get any fluid out of the calipers, tells me I needed to find or buy a $1,500 pump to push the fluid and leaves. And haven't heard from him since. I was able to find a rv with the same break system and took it off wich really pisses me off because I paid him so much to do a job I ended up having to do and it wasn't worth a fraction of what he charged me. I had to get another shop to come look at it the reason it wouldn't bleed is because the pushrod in the hydrobooster wasn't there or he didn't keep the one out of mine as he sped off to get the core charge and cash my check. He sent me a message on day 1 asking why he got a bad review. I should have taken that as a sign.
