The salesperson we were working with knew exactly which vehicle and color combination we wanted. The evening before our visit, we were told the exact vehicle we wanted was available. We informed the dealership that we would be coming the next morning and would likely be purchasing it. They even confirmed our appointment the morning of our visit and had previously sent us photos of the vehicle's interior. We then drove almost an hour to the dealership specifically to see and potentially purchase that vehicle. After arriving, we were told it had already been pre-sold. What was most frustrating is that the dealership knew we were coming, knew which vehicle we were interested in, and still did not contact us before our trip to let us know it was no longer available. A simple phone call or text could have saved us an unnecessary drive. While we were there, an employee blamed the situation on the internet salesperson and stated that this was not the first time something like this had happened. We were then encouraged to do a dealer trade for another vehicle, but were told we would need to put $2,500 down. This requirement had never been mentioned during our previous conversations. The disappointing part is that we were willing to wait for the next vehicle to arrive if the situation had been handled honestly and professionally. Instead, the lack of communication and transparency caused the dealership to lose our business. After leaving, we visited another dealership, found the exact vehicle we were looking for, and received a better deal than what was being offered here. We understand that vehicles can sell quickly. Our frustration is not that the vehicle sold, but that the dealership failed to communicate with us despite knowing we were on our way and planning to purchase it. We expected honesty, transparency, and better customer service. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that our time was not valued.

They ran several expensive checks and finally determined it was the gas tank cap. After running up the big repair bill the service tech and service advisor admitted that the dealership had received a warning letter from Honda that the rubber seal on the gas tank cap were failing on the Honda pilots. My problem is why they did not try replacing the tank cap first or at least inform me about the letter from Honda pointing out the potential problem with the lid rubber seal. This appears to me to be a rip off from a shop that cannot be trusted .

First, they were courteous, professional, and friendly. Second, they listened to my concerns and were able to look at my car immediately. The level of service was top notch and I'm more than pleased with my experience there. I will now always take my car to Big O Tires whenever I need service. Thank you Terrance, Justin, and Javon for your professionalism, kindness, and great service.

I agreed because i want to use the correct grade of oil for my car. I got a call a couple of hours later saying that the filter housing was stuck and that they would not be able to replace the filter without breaking the housing and replacing it with a better quality housing. They quoted me $65 dollars for a new housing, and the new total would be $265 dollars. I questioned them as to why it would be $100 dollars more than the cost of the part that they were going to break on my car. They claimed additional labor was required... to remove a part that was part of the normal oil change. We went back and forth on the phone, I went to pick up the car. I walked them though the steps of changing the oil. including replacing the oil filter housing O-rings. They agreed that that was how it was done. They lied to me stating that they opened the hood before the car was on the lift to change the oil filter, people of the internet, The filter is on the bottom of the engine. It was either a cash grab, or incompetency. but I don't appreciate being lied to. I ended up taking my car elsewhere. Avoid the Lowery road location at least.

What impressed me the most was the level of true service overheard for another man that was having service done to his vehicle - they gladly got a lyft driver to come and pick him up after an unexpected amount of time had been added to his wait! The client didn't ask - they simply offered right after telling of the extended wait time. Very professional. I highly recommend taking your vehicle and business here!

This is my statement about recent dealings with Auto Excel in Lexington Kentucky:…read more On May 7th, I took my car in for repair, because; The driver's side headlight would go out and then back on. A chattering relay above the passenger side sliding door. The driver's side sliding door will sometimes close and then pop back open. Also on a few occasions the battery would be drained after sitting overnight. I received a call later that day stating that the battery had a bad cell and should be replaced. For me the call was misleading as I thought this was a necessary step toward fixing the issues stated above. I was charged $507.17 for the new battery and installation.. Then on Friday, an e-mail came asking for authorization to pursue three items - internal dash noises - oil dye - and the sliding door issue. The three when added up totaled over $500, and only one was related to the reason I took the car in. I declined and went to get my car. When I was there, I asked to see the old battery - it was already gone. I was told that they did a voltage test and that it read around 10 volts, (12v - 2v = bad cell). When I parked the car in front of their shop the battery voltage read 14.6v (the new battery reads 14.3v). There was absolutely no information about the new battery. No manufacturer's name, no model number, no warranty card. After a second request, we did get a copy of their purchase receipt from Advance Auto. When I got home, I looked the battery up on the Advance Auto website - The battery was listed for less than $250 installed. I parked the car for three weeks. The first time I drove it, the headlight went out, by the time I got home the headlight was back on. I wrote a three page letter to the owner, Mike Barrett. I posted it on their website message board, I e-mailed it to Mike Barrett directly, and I sent a hard copy in the U.S. Mail. I received no response from Mike Barrett. (Did he ever see my letter?) I did receive a response from Cole Barrett, (the Service / Marketing Leader at Auto Excel). This is the man I have been dealing with. I sent a second letter, this time to Cole Barrett, on Friday June 5th. Between the two letters, I received six e-mail requests, and additional text messages, requesting "Favorible" reviews". With both letters, I requested a refund. Even a partial refund would be better than what was offered. First these statements from Cole Barrett: "The issue that was solved is the vehicle starts and runs," "which was solved by replacing the battery and its bad cell" Nothing was solved! - The issues had not changed - the headlight, the chattering relay, the door popping open, and the fact that something had drained the battery - those are the issues. The new battery does not solve anything. If something shorts out, the new battery will drain just like the old one did. Also, the car starts and runs just fine. I drove it to his shop. Now, What was offered: " The best I can offer is to further inspect and evaluate those other issues at no charge. " "Alternatively, if you bring the battery back I can exchange it at no charge, allowing us to refund you back the amount of the battery." The fact that Cole offered further services at no charge is an acknowledgement that "Something's not right," (which is what I stated in my first letter). The offer to refund the cost of the battery if it's returned is an insult. I would have to go somewhere, buy a battery, have it installed, and pay a $22 reclaim fee, (because I won't have an old battery to return), then take this battery back to Auto Excel for the refund. Cole Barrett wants me, the customer, to jump through a bunch of hoops to resolve an issue he created. In the letter dated June 5th, Cole Barrett's last words are - "Thank you and have a blessed day!" It felt like sarcasm. In some of the e-mails I'm referred to as a "Valued Customer." Really? The car still needed to be repaired. I had to save some money, and then took it to another repair shop. They resolved the headlight and battery drain issues. They also provided real information on the other two issues. The bill, $450. That's less than Cole Barrett charged me to replace a battery that was not defective! I wish I could, but I cannot recommend Auto Excel. My experience with them was painful. I won't be going back! There were many many overcharging the customer going on not just with me. The surrounding neighborhood was talking about southside repair i heard it from some of the local businesses also. I would highly. When it came to fixing the car again for the same issue. It was a struggle the way we were spoke to, which said it all. We felt bad but I'm thinking years later why did we feel bad. It was Southside Repair responsibility to fix it right the first time. I am understandable if it breaks again within the warranty that they fix it. I'm all about 2nd chances. Can you imagine taking your car back n forth for months just to get it fixed. Then having to wait days , week to get it back?or that the warranty was out 2 days ago when it wasn't. It was inconvenient for us. Not my choice.

They apply this to any work they do and it was not disclosed up front. The inspection was thorough, I don't have any qualms with that, but they definitely are on the higher end price-wise. I just didn't like the lack of transparency so I went elsewhere for the actual work I needed on my car. Something about it just didn't seem right.

Day two off the lot, EGR starts to go: mileage drops & heat stops working. Tell me it's unrelated & I might get charged a diagnostic fee because of it.... I tell them this is fine, I know it's emissions related & part of the warranty, but they tell me to diagnose this it'll take 3-5 hours! That being said, under the warranty I'm entitled to a loaner & they tell me no! So I call them out on them & they magically say oh, never mind, we can get you a loaner, but this will only take an hour to diagnose it & we don't give out loaners for hour service jobs.... They lied to me out of the gate, delayed my service (by two weeks) because they didn't have time for a 5 hour diagnose, then had the nerve to ask me after why I waited so long if I was having these issues... If you buy from this dealership check every feature of your car before you drive off the lot, basic heat, power outlet, wiper etc. I wouldn't trust these people to own the issue afterwards, get you in for timely service or give you the warranties owed to you by VW unless you call them out on it!
