I am remiss in leaving this review, but it's been due to health issues. Fortunately all is well now, and I am happy to report a very positive experience with Complete Automotive Repair in June of 2025. On a drive from Florida to Michigan, our 2022 Telluride intermittently was overheating. We managed to drop it off to Complete Automotive Repair, and then got a rental for our Michigan destination and return to Lexington. The Complete Automotive team pressure-tested for leaks, checked all hoses and clamps, and diagnosed that the water pump had failed. This place helped me out on a prior problem that probably led to another problem I just witnessed recently. Apparently, when I had my rotors checked out; they had stated that my spark plugs needed to be checked. Fast forward to now, my check engine light had come on prior to Christmas. Of course, I had taken my car to S&S Tire on Richmond Rd. Come to find today that the catalytic converter may be an issue. I did my research and found that driving on bad spark plugs could cause a catalytic converter to go bad. So I definitely want to thank this place for the heads up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Relating to the review below mine. I actually did have a similar experience. One can even take a look at my last review. When I brought it in because I thought my car was stopping on egg shaped wheels, I ended up getting it back and the problem was not really solved because 6 months down the road at high speeds....... while I made a trip to Owensboro, my steering wheel was shaking horribly every time I tried to brake and this was at 70 mph! I instead chose to not brake a whole lot no matter if there was a dead animal on the road or around a curve (which is highly dangerous). This place has helped me out in the past, but I think I want to EMPHASIZE THIS POINT in this review. If there is any type of investigation that needs to happen to assure that people's rotors are replaced as stated and this place can't actually RESURFACE them, do not tell them that. I only state this because another individual on here also had the same issue I had. The S&S Tire on Richmond Rd can actually provide this service even though I have had my own share of problems with them recently. They also were not afraid to refer me to other mechanics because they did not have exhaust or autobody type services. If one of us were to die because of faulty rotors, it would be on this place. Never mess around and cut costs or put on partial parts (checking all the rotors and only giving half of them and charging for all four) when it comes to any type of tire related problem, PLEASE. So another chapter on the brake rotor issue. Drove back to see the family over New Years after being frozen out of the Christmas trip... noticed on the way some very mild issues (oh, it's just under 800 miles each way). However on the way home, somewhere around St. Louis, the warped rotor feel started to return. Was real fun especially as fog set in as we neared Louisville later into the evening. So what to do? Not going back to Alabama for help and not to "CAR" after the chilly response first go around. Since we'd bought a Subie at the dealership that also sells Cadillac, and I had a few coupons...plus she needed an oil change. Confirmed warped rotors.... AGAIN. Oh and get this... front brake line reinstalled incorrectly, the twisting of the line and thus restriction of brake fluid, likely caused the issue. So the work there has likely caused me to spend another $1000.00 since the major service. Big avoid here. read more

BEWARE! A unprofessional shop that won't make things right when they screw up badly. Brought a car in for repairs to help a young single mom get back and forth to work. Gave this shop over $1600 to do a complete inspection, ball joints, tires, tuneup, oil change, etc. They say everything is done and we pick up the car. We start driving it back home and literally 2 hours later the check engine light comes on (on the highway) and before we can pull over to the nearest exit the engine totally shuts down. NO OIL IN THE ENGINE- ENGINE BLOWN!! Only 3 reasons an engine blows: engine is completely worn out with high mileage (this one didn't even have high miles), driver is revving the engine super high (my son who drives for FedEx was driving and he's very experienced driving a manual) or THERES LITTLE OR NO OIL IN THE ENGINE (which is the most common). THIS MEANS THERE WAS ALREADY A BAD LEAK (WHICH WE PAID THEM TO INSPECT THE CAR AND THEY SAID NOTHING) OR THE INCOMPETENT TECHNICIAN (Seth) DIDN'T DO HIS JOB WITH THE OIL CHANGE!! So what happens when I try to call and talk to them about this?? LIES! Witt (the weasel employee) says "oh that can't be our fault, your son must've been revving the engine or this is just a weird coincidence" ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?? ONLY 2 HOURS AFTER LEAVING THEIR SHOP A TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE!! They lied, wouldn't return phone calls, AND WOULDNT EVEN TRY TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT! These guys (LYDIA & DALTON FULLER-OWNERS) run a shady shop and their employees (WITT THE WEASEL and Seth) clearly don't know how to do their jobs. Last Friday afternoon my husband and I were traveling from Indianapolis to Knoxville when our water pump went out. AAA towed our vehicle to Complete Automotive Repair. They could not repair our vehicle till Monday. John Parker went out of his way to help us with a rental car, gave us hotel and dinner suggestions. Ultimately our nephew picked us up Saturday morning, John came to the store and opened it so we could get all of our belongings out of our vehicle. Car was repaired, we picked it up on Wednesday and drove it to Knoxville with absolutely no problem. I would highly recommend Complete Automotive if you're in the Lexington area. They got me in right away and had my car done in 24 hrs. I'll just say I don't feel that the mechanic was honest.

I just had some repairs done to my car and Complete Automotive saved me a bunch of money compared to the price other shops quoted me. After giving them a call, they took care of everything from towing my car to the shop, to picking me up from my apartment when my car was ready to be picked up. Also, John was a ton of help throughout the whole process and even gave me phone updates while my car was being worked on. Their customer service goes above and beyond. Any mechanic willing to give you the part they replaced is an honest mechanic and can be trusted. They even gave me a brownie and took me to work. I took my vehicle here prior to going on vacation due to a leaking fuel line, and was initially told it would be $250 if it needed a patch, and closer to $500 if it needed to be replaced, and that they would let me know on Wednesday (I left the vehicle on a Friday). Wednesday, I received a call informing me that three fuel lines needed to be replaced rather than one, and the cost jumped to $1300, but this didn't surprise or upset me, as my vehicle is a 2004, and probably had more wrong than I suspected. No mention was made of two other issues I had asked about. Friday, on my way home from vacation, I received a text message that they had ordered the wrong part, and my car would not be ready until Monday. This caused me to miss a day of work, and I received no response on Monday to a text requesting an ETA. I called the business later, and was informed that they would "hopefully" have it by the end of business Tuesday. I informed them I needed a vehicle to get to work, and was met with silence. When asked about a loaner, I was informed another customer ruined it for everyone, and their loaner was broke down in another state. The vehicle was done on Tuesday, after I had to spend more money to get an Uber to work, and not only was there no mention of any reductions due to their mistake causing a delay in repair, but they had done more work on the vehicle than I had asked. I would accept this if it was a make-good, but they charged me for the parts used to do the additional work. Also, the cost went from $1300 to $1550, and the only apology given came out as more of an explanation than a genuine expression of sympathy. In addition, there still was no mention of the two additional issues I had asked them to give me estimates on. To add insult to injury, the owner sent me a text message to make sure everything went well. When I responded no, and asked if I could send her an email to explain why I was unhappy, she did not respond. I will not take my vehicle here again. read more

DO NOT USE THIS REPAIR SHOP!... If YELP had a thumbs down button or negative stars this place would get it from me!... I brought my vehicle to this shop to have repairs done. I believe my vehicle was in and out of this shop at least five times for the same problem. They never actually fixed my car! I ended up taking my vehicle to the dealership who fixed the issue in one day. The dealership provided me photos, as well as, the damaged parts causing the issue with my vehicle. The mechanic from the dealership stated whomever worked on my car should definitely not being doing electrical work on cars, probably not even working on cars period. I relayed this information back to Complete Auto Repair. I was not even given the courtesy of the owner contacting me regarding my complaints. The service manager stated the owner would give me a in-store credit for future repairs and also the next time I came in they would let a different technician work on my car. THANKS, BUT NO THANKS! This shop does not stand by their work AND they are not willing to rectify the situation even though it was clearly a lack of knowledge and/or laziness on the part of the technician. Save yourself the trouble and spend the extra money to have someone (like a dealership) work on your vehicle! read more

I am saddened to write this review. Our vehicle is not new, however, upon taking the car here three times before, and spending upwards of $2100, we were satisfied with the results each time. However, the last time we brought it here, the shop kept it from Tuesday late PM, until Friday. They played the guessing game with our time, money and trust. Essentially, they charged us $400 for a glorified tune up of spark plugs, wires and points. Until my husband had a heated conversation with the owners, they could not tell us what was wrong and in the end diagnosed an issue with the engine which would require pulling the head off the motor. We were quoted over $2000. Some years ago, I had the entire head gasket replaced on our car for less than that. There is a smugness to the customer service and a lack of compassion for sure. I am not impressed and not sure that I trust the diagnosis. What I have a major issue with is the fact that you kept the car for three days before you decided it was an engine issue. DO NOT RECOMMEND. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FEEL WE WERE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND OUR TIME AND MONEY WE DO NOT HAVE WERE WASTED.
