This rating is not necessarily directed at the branch. The people who work at this branch have always been very nice, helpful, and friendly. But I'm beyond frustrated with something as simple as trying to change my mailing address when I moved! I opened an account here in 2017 while living near Venice. I moved to Manhattan Beach in 2018, and when I Changed my address it was not a problem, my bank statements and new ATM cards made it to my new address. In 2019 I moved to a different apartment unit at the same address and could not get the bank to change my address to the new unit. No matter how many times I went to the bank in person or mailed in a written change of address request, Comerica kept sending all my bank statements to the old address. Usually my neighbors would just give me the mail. In May of this year, I moved to the SF Bay area 450 miles from this branch. I called and asked if I could please change my address. They said I had to go to the branch in person. So I went there in person in May a few days before I moved and They changed my address. At my new home 450 miles from the Marina Del Rey branch, I was waiting for my new ATM card. I called the branch as well as customer service to make sure my new address was updated and that my ATM card would be sent to my new address and they confirmed it would. A couple weeks later and still no ATM card, I call customer service to ask how much longer until I get my ATM card, and yep, you guessed it--my ATM card was mailed to my old address AGAIN!! I'm not kidding when I say, I have tried to get them to update my correct mailing address in their system at LEAST 7 times in the last few months, and probably a dozen times over the last 3-4 years. I had to call them today and tell them to cancel my ATM card bc it (and the pin code) were mailed to my old address. I'm done with corporate for profit banks. I'm going with a credit union like everyone told me. The only reason I gave Comerica 2 stars is bc the ppl working there are nice and I know it's not their fault. I've watched them try to update my mailing address many times. The problem is these banks are too big to stay organized and personable. If they can't even get my mailing address right, what else are they messing up?!?!?! read more

My review is for both Comerica bank as a whole AND the Marina del Rey branch. - Comerica Bank has the super shady practice of clearing all debits before credits, meaning that even if you've made a deposit, they will clear everything BEFORE your deposit, and gladly charge overdraft fees of $33 for each transaction. I recently deposited my paycheck, which couldn't post on a Saturday because it's not a "business day". However, while my paycheck sat "pending", Comerica let numerous charges come through on Saturday, that "non-business day" and gladly charged me $33 for each one. Funny how that works in their favor. -Upon contacting my Marina del Rey branch for help, the manager, Crystal, was super condescending and tried to explain how debits and credits work. She then tried to sell me a credit card. In short, Crystal is a super shady manager working for a super shady institution. -Not wanting to give up, I lastly called the Comerica customer service number for help and after sitting on hold for 40 minutes (!), was told to contact my branch. What an utter waste of time. If you are looking for a bank, stay away from Comerica! They are the worst!! After being a loyal customer for many years, I've overlooked their bad behavior too many times and am finally done. read more

I spent a long time researching different banks in my area when looking to open a small business account. Upon approaching three of the larger banks, I was a bit uncomfortable and felt a lack of client care. That was not the case when I walked into Comerica. I was greeted by a friendly staff who helped me get my account up and running with no issues. Elma was very helpful with my needs. After my account was set up Elma even walked me around the the facility to introduce me to everybody that works there. I have never had that happen when opening up acounts at any other banks. We are lucky to have smaller banks like these still around that care about their clients and offer a more dedicated experience. read more

I have been a Comerica customer for 16 years now throughout several different states and none do it better than the team at the Marina del Rey location! This team truly cares about the people that bank with them and take the time to know individuals personally to better serve their needs. Always a friendly and personable atmosphere anytime you enter the bank with a willingness to help that's unparalleled! And never a long wait for those in a rush, the window tellers Renee, Cecil and Brenda are knowledgable and fast with transactions to be respectful of their customers time. Such wonderful women always very warm and receptive to all those they encounter! I often spent more time in the branch then necessary just to catch up with them! And no winning team gets to be this way without a great leader. Branch manager Neb is the best! Always an open door policy to account holders to listen to and help with any issue that may arise! A manager that is this involved with making sure his clients are happy and well taken care of is one of the major things that sets this branch apart! I have banked with every bank institution in America! I've had both personal and business checking accounts and never felt more cared for and appreciated as I feel with Comerica Bank. I can sincerely say-I love this bank! I never have to wait in line, I know everyone by their first name and they all refer to me as Agi (only people that know me well are entitled to that:). They are so personable and pleasant, I actually forget I'm dealing with the bank. I'm sure they have bigger clients than me, but they treat me as I'm one of them. You are guaranteed to receive top-quality professional yet personalized service in all your banking needs. Why? First of all, he is personable, kind, gentle and patient in disposition. He's got this open door policy that makes you feel welcome right away. When you start discussing your concerns, you know he is an authority in his field. Undefatigably, he goes beyond the call of duty -- he addresses all your banking concerns by thoroughly walking you through the processes until your issues are addressed. In my case, it was loan prequalification and the final approval of the loan. He served as an excellent intermediary with the loan processing team that was in another state. They were 2 hours ahead of LA. Considering the stringent time frame to get all documentation finalized, he acted so proactively and efficiently prompt. It felt as if I was his only business but obviously not, as I'm sure there were many clients like me who demanded his personal attention and time. I honestly felt he cared that I would get my dream home. I indeed got the best deal from the onset of our meeting. I gained a friend. Beyond any doubt, Neb is a total solution provider who is results oriented. Why don't you pay him or the bank a visit. The bank staff are so welcoming, accommodating and cheerfully charming....just like their boss. I am finally leaving this bank after many frustrations. Here's just the last two: My Debit card was cancelled because a vendor's database had been breached. I did not receive a notification of this, just suddenly my card was declined...they had mailed me a new one, but never received it. Before that, I had signed up for online payments at the request of a worker. So easy to sign up online! But the payment took too long to hit her account (four days...what?) so I cancelled (or tried to!) within the 90 day "get your money back" guarantee...but there was no link to do that online, so I emailed them...was told via return email I had to go into the branch...went into the branch, and after AN HOUR the guy helping me STILL COULDN'T EVEN FIND THAT I HAD SIGNED UP FOR THIS SERVICE! I had to go, and he told me to email him, which I did...but never heard back...when finally I was able to find someone to help me on the phone (another hour of my life I won't get back...also, turns out you DON'T need to go into the bank! Sheesh!) the 90 days had passed and my refund was refused...but the guy finally said he'd give me one month as a "courtesy". I'm over it. read more

Awesome bank! I just opened an account there and was pleasantly surprised with their customer service. I met the Teller, New Account Rep, and Branch Manager. All super helpful and friendly. No lines, small bank, has more of an office vibe. I was offered coffee and water the moment I sat down to open new account. The only down side is that this branch is closed on Saturdays but they are open until 6pm on Fridays. Definitely recommend if you want to avoid crowds and get personalized vip service. read more
