Comfort Bagel is the new go-to shop for our office snack needs. Winter is tough in New England, and a warm, toasted bagel is the perfect thing. The selection rotates every 2 weeks with unique flavors of bagels, with many different butter and cream cheese flavors you would not expect. The salted rosemary is a favorite with the honey butter. If it is available, the bourbon pecan bagel is one that my co-workers make a point to get. I have not tried their coffee, but I'm also not the kind of person that likes to try a new coffee first thing in the morning. We all have to stick with the caffeine we know (and if you know you know!) It's nice that most of these bagels have enough flavor to them that you don't have to add anything on them at all to enjoy them, and they are $2 a piece plain which is super reasonable for a freshly made bagel. On the same note, it is a no-brainer to eat food that is made fresh. When you go into other local places that have bagels, do you really know where or when they were made? Don't do that to yourself. It is OK to grab your favorite coffee at Place a and still get a delicious bagel here. The service is fast, they are kind, and they accept Apple Pay!

First time trying a sourdough bagel and being from NY it is not what I would want in a bagel, but still not too bad. I didn't like the non dairy cc that was a choice because it tasted like hummus and I don't like hummus on my bagels, but if you do, you'll love it!!'

Stopped here on a Saturday morning. Had the cardamom spiced bagel with vanilla cream cheese. Was great! Ample seating area - service is a bit slow so you just have to wait but lots of parking spots. Definitely worth a visit!

Customer service was great, ambience was nice; spacious, roomy, good amount of seating. Purchased a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel and it was overall average, especially for the price.

Amazing! I got the BLT and it was delicious. I'm usually more of a bagel & cream cheese person versus the bagel sandwich, but this converted me! The flavor combo was perfect.

We came by on National Bagel Day. They have been in the Open Square for a few years having started out as a home business. We would receive deliveries of their bagels on a regular basis. Service is great. They carry the basic varieties but add new ones regularly. They make bagel enjoyment a fun time. The original brick and location on the canal make Comfort Bagel unique destination. All this contributes to a warm and welcoming ambiance.

Bagels are fresh, the flavors change so they always have your old standbys but if you like a little adventure the new flavors are always tasty and fun. Staff is actually what brought me back very personable and take the time to get to know you. Coffee is really good. Menu and hours are expanding because the word is getting out about this hidden gem.

If you're looking for amazing bagels, or just in the area in search of a great spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch, then look no further. Comfort Bagel is located in a beautiful space inside one of the old mills in holyoke. They have an amazingly wonderful selection of real sourdough bagels to choose from along with a long list of spreads. If you're in the mood for a bagel sandwich, they also have a few options available there and none of them will disappoint. I've tried them all on different bagels and it would be unfair to choose one over the others; they're all that good. They also have coffee and other drinks available. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Be sure to give this place a try, I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do!

Bagels aren't great. Recommend going to Southwick to Fancy Bagels. Stars are strictly for good service and a nice esthetic when walking in.

Ask the Community - Comfort Bagel

How are the bagels made? Are they steamed or boiled first?

Hi Mitchell, all our sourdough bagels are made fresh on-site daily and cold-fermented overnight to develop their flavor. How they're cooked is our little secret, but let's just say it's kind of a steam/boil/hybrid that results in a bagel that has a… Read more

Reading my old review, I was all about the coffee and breakfast sandwiches and that still holds true, but this most recent trip was a big batch of bagels. As a Jersey girl, my standards are high but Tandem met them all once again. We were stopping by family for breakfast so we preordered a variety bag of a dozen bagels. Everything from salt to French toast was in the mix so there was something for everyone. We also got a tub of the plain cream cheese and a tub of the veggie cream cheese, both were gone almost immediately. We (luckily) preordered ahead of time. If you are stopping by on a weekend morning, this is the way to go. It was a madhouse, and I am sure it moves quick, but it was amazing to just pop in, grab our bag and head out. If you're craving a bagel, this seems to be the place to go.

The donuts were very reasonably priced and delicious. We also tried the egg sandwiches, they were huge, made to order, and really hit the spot. The coffee was fantastic. It's a cool looking place and the inside is never crowded, despite how busy they often are. The parking lot can be chaotic, but that's nothing too off putting. My only gripe (if I had to have one) would be that the coffee is not at the same level as everything else here. It's good, especially compared to other donut places I've been in the past, but it's nothing special. My wife usually has me drive through the dunkin nearby for coffee, but Ms Murphy's are the only donuts that matter to her and the kids.

I had just seen Donut Dip pop up in an online article as the best donut place in Massachusetts and so I had to stop. Donut Dip is an old school donut shop, a large selection of a wide variety of flavors are on display. The short line moved quickly and I ordered an Apple Fritter and a Chocolate topped custard stick for the road. The price was a bit higher than I expected but the donuts were big and looked great and I wanted some food for the road so I didn't have to stop. The Apple Fritter was good, however it seemed to be a bit light on actual apple piece and while tasty it just wasn't anything special. The Custard stick was excellent, the custard was rich and luscious which nicely balanced the perfectly fried donut, the topping was thick and chocolaty giving the donut an old school feel. Although I didn't have a long visit I would say that overall Donut Dip has very good to great donuts. The shop feels classic and if I was nearby I would love to try some of the other flavors. Well worth a stop to check them out.
