I got a same day appt - saw Dr. Sliter and was I ever impressed. I am one of those people that is paralyzed with terror in the dental chair. He put me at ease and calmed my poor rapidly beating heart. I had seen some other dentists not long before, and they had not discovered the issue Dr. Sliter found. I had a very serious problem,and if he had not found it, it would have caused major health problems. I have great trust in this office. So this is how you treat your patients? At the end of the day you guys need to take accountability for your actions. One of your dentist told me AFTER getting the tooth patched that they couldn't do a root canal on the tooth if that's even what it was. My tooth had been taken care of prior to this whole incident. I was getting some pain in the tooth and I looked for someone to help me get it taken care of so it didn't get worse. It was two different appointments weeks from each other to get it patched. I was told after it was patched that I shouldn't have an issue again. Which is normal when getting a tooth fixed. This is no way to handle a situation like this. Ever! Reading the comments this seems to happen often at your practice! Just a heads up that according to my normal practice that the tooth could have INDEED been fixed with a root canal in office but it seems to me that your dentist needs some more work done if she thinks it couldn't have been done. After 3 yrs I will not go back. The dental care is suboptimal. They take xrays but the dentist DOES NOT exam your teeth. Of the many cleanings I had , the hygienist barely scraped off the tartar. The place looks unkept & the attitude of the receptionist to the dentist is that you are just another low-income person & we dont have time for you. I went here due to tooth sensitivity and pain. They absolutely refused to extract the tooth and only filled it. They gave me no instructions on what to do afterwards; NONE, for the composite resin filling, which I've never had before. My last filling was amalgam. I have dental anxiety from a previous dentist who caused a lot of trauma. The lady here has no bedside manners and she does nothing to stifle it. I've tried several other dental offices in the area, and this comfort dental is the best experience I've had. Dr. Scott is the dentist that I had work on my cavities and do my cleaning. I had no pain or discomfort throughout the entire appointment. I was nervous to come here after reading past reviews, but those obviously must be from people who just don't like going to the dentist. I had a great experience with Dr. Jacob Scott and Comfort Dental in Hillard today. I usually do not look forward to going to the dentist, who does. However Doc Scott put me at ease and explained everything he was doing to me. Very informative and I am sure my at home dental hygiene will improve. I had not been to a dentist in a very long time. My first visit was great. No judgement, great care. My second visit however. I was called in at my appointment time and got put in a dentist chair a bit out of the way. I sat there for 55 minutes, thankfully I had my phone, also why I know the exact amount of time. The technician finally came to do my cleaning but never once mentioned or apologized for the time. She also was very short with me telling me I don't scrub my gums hard enough. Fine, but you don't have to be mean about it. The cleaning was done and she said I could go, I said what about the doctor coming and reviewing my xrays to check my progress, she said no they were not doing that. I said I was told that it would happen and mentioned that my wife did get the review on her second visit, she said no and we were done. Took my Daughter in as a new Patient. She has always been scared of the Dentist until we found Comfort Dental. After a long weekend of pain from a toothache, Comfort Dental got her a new patient appt within two days. She was a nervous wreck about going to the appt. Tracy Took such good care of her, Made her feel so comfortable and explained the best treatment . Dr Scott was also amazing and patience with her. We all decided the best plan would be to pull the back tooth that was causing all the pain. It was so smooth. Tracy & Dr Scott made my daughter so relaxed and it was the best experienced we have ever at a Dentist office. So thankful for Tracy and the whole team at Comfort. Very strange visit and office...Wouldn't recommend going if your on Medicaid. I did get x rays and got an "exam" and was told I had multiple cavity's and needed a deep cleaning. Which is why I went to the dentist. But then in the same sentence was told only if my insurance approved it and they would get back with me. I then was sent out the door quicker than I got in. Been over week and no response or communication at all. Complete waste of time. Also the room is open air and the opposite of "private" or "comfortable" as I could here each patients issues and conversation. Also could here my man in 10 feet from me getting drilled. in August I went for cleaning 30 minutes after my appointent time I asked to use RR! It was n the bak so I noticed they had a full house so I rescheduled! Fast forward I called about 2 or 3 weeks in advance of appointment they said had the records from the other provider! I showed up they then told me that they did not and it was not their fault they did not have the email from that provider! Ok yes but I still feeel they have should have 2x checked to make sure they had the proper recrds so I could have goten the records having a successful appointment instead I was turned away not even rscheduled! I visited Comfort Dental Hilliard twice. The first was back in April 2018 and the second, probably the last, was this past Saturday January 9th. I chose this practice because its location is incredibly convenient for me: 5-10 biking and about half an hour walking. Plus, they usually have a lot more available time slots compared to other dental offices in the Columbus Area, so it is easy for customers to get an appointment. Overall, I did like the service. The dentists, dental hygienists, and assistants were friendly and provided a very comprehensive & thorough exam. I was lucky that my first visit for a general check-up, cleaning, and filling were covered by temporary Ohio Medicare Coverage through Paramount. The problem started when I had to pay out of pocket for my second and most current visit three days ago. First, I was misled about the total price. The receptionist I spoke to on the phone told me that it would be $75 for a check-up and routine cleaning. He forget to mention the $40 office visit fee. I also asked about the Comfort Dental Gold Plan and was dissuaded from joining this plan since it was just a bi-annual routine exam and cleaning. When I went in for my check-up and cleaning, I ended-up getting two fillings done: one because the old one fell out during the cleaning, and the second was recommended by the attending dentist as a preventive measure. Again, I asked both the dentist and the receptionist about the Gold Plan, as my total bill came to $440, a lot higher than I had originally anticipated. For the second time, I was dissuaded by the receptionist (a different one the person I spoke to on the phone) from joining this plan, which would have cut my total bill in half, on the grounds that it would be cheaper for me to pay out of my pocket since I don't need fillings nor any other special services. After doing extra research about the Gold Plan, two days later, my husband and I went back to the dental office to see if we can get the Gold Plan discount for the service performed two days ago if I sign-up for this plan on the spot and also to express our dissatisfaction of being misled and pushed away from the plan. The receptionist was not friendly at all and even flat out said that the Hilliard office only accepts yearly instead of monthly payment for this plan. Therefore, it would have cost me more money, especially in the long run if I had enrolled in GP. However, this is a flat out lie because when I contacted the corporate headquarters in Colorado, the representative told me that all Comfort Dental franchises that offer the Gold Plan will accept both yearly and monthly payments. Besides not being truthful, what upsets both me and my husband the most is the receptionist's nonchalant attitude and deliberate intention of pushing me away from enrolling in GP. As a result, despite the convenient location; most likely, I won't return to this office nor any other Comfort Dental locations again. I'll probably purchase an Humana Dental Insurance and/or use the ValPak coupon for my next dental routine care. Lastly, I give Dental Comfort Hilliard an one-star for its location, facility of scheduling appointments, and mainly because I did like the service plus the dental staff, as they are friendly and professional. Words of advice for prospective DC customers: if you don't have dental insurance or medicare/medicaid etc., be sure to enroll in the Gold Plan before your dental appointment (this plan is offered in Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Ohio), and ask for a print-out of services offered if the receptionist just provide a receipt. I should have asked for a print-out of the services offered at the end of my second visit. read more

I visited the office, received x-rays and care plan established, then the pandemic started. I had a broken tooth that really needed to be addressed but I toughed it out for several months. Called the office with severe toothache once the stay at home order was lifted, and waited three days for a callback. Whomever answered the phone said they were "too busy to call back" and she didn't care that I had been waiting in pain. Called a different dentist and received immediate care. I have had good experiences here. I went back several times. Saw different dentists here. As far as getting teeth pulled, it wasn't a horrible experience. Even cavities filled, was a fairly pleasant experience. I truly love the dental assistants here. But the last couple visits i felt a little judged. They "hey how are yous" felt more like "great i have to deal with her". What pushed me over the edge this time is when i came in for my cleaning. They said I haven't had one since 2015. Which is a lie. My family even remembers me going for a cleaning. I got a bunch of fillings and a cleaning. I have been going back to them the last two years. Had several teeth pulled. A bunch of fillings. They did remember that my brother was a patient. Funny how that could be remembered but not that i have been back there several times. (And to Me it sounded condescending because my brother is due for a cleaning, we know this he just works a lot.) But my biggest issue was that when the dentist came in (Dr.DuBois). He literally took a quick look in my mouth and said he couldn't do my cleaning. That id need a deep cleaning. He had an attitude about it like it's my fault and i let it go too long. He said that they're going to have to request it to my insurance. He said even if it's denied the deep cleaning is only $200. I felt awkward and mentioned i had care credit. He remembered years back i asked about whitening but due to health issues i have had to stop working. And i am fighting for disability. They also know this. I couldn't afford the whitening. But he some how remembered this from awhile back. And said that care credit needs to reach a certain price point to give me 6 months to pay it. That he could add the whitening to the treatment. I was puzzled and figured id see if my insurance would cover it. If they did, i would have done the deep cleaning. My insurance usually covers everything. I am on state insurance because i have had to leave work due to medical conditions. They said that they reviewed what was submitted and they didn't think I needed a deep cleaning. My gut told me to get a second opinion. And i did. I went today and they told me that I just needed a regular cleaning. They poked my gums and went through all of my teeth checking to see if i needed the deep cleaning as well as took images to see bone density. And said i have no cavities and I just needed the regular cleaning. When i saw Dr.DuBois he didn't spend as much time checking. He quickly made the decision. It honestly just seemed like he was trying to pull out as much $$ as possible. In fact on some of the google reviews you will see that i am not the only one who says this. My review on there isn't as well written, i was upset. And updated it a few times. I don't appreciate being judged for having anxiety. Or fibromyalgia. Or to be judged by my "class". Or because i have state insurance. I am a person and I deserve equal respect. I give two stars because not all the staff is bad. Also, the place i went for a second opinion. One of the staff worked with Dr.DuBois previously. And she gave me the impression she wasn't shocked by what happened. That there is an attitude issue. Don't push things people don't need. And work on the attitude. And this place can turn around. If you don't i think people will get wise to the B.S. and you will loose business. I don't care for a reply because I won't be back. Unless its for my records. I feel like the last reply i got on my google review was purely an attempt to discredit my statement. So think about that before writing me. Hope things change! Considering I've been a "regular" here I'm not sure if it's a good thing or bad, but I will say this, it's more than enough to submit an accurate review on them. Now the staff is courteous, everything is ran timely. So this means you aren't going to spend a overly exaggerated amount of time here for your dental work. Both Sliter and DuBois are good and very professional. The inside of the establishment is clean. Only reason I didn't give 5 star is upon one appointment I was stuck 9x to numb my lower jaw and they didn't hit the nerve correctly this I had to be turned away that day to come back at a later time. Comfort Dental staff turn over is unbelievable. I worked a day and half and Dr. Scott let me go because I wasn't learning fast enough! The only reason given!!!!! A day in half how can you learn everything that fast. Add said no experience necessary and would train. Who can't learn anything in a day in half. My recommendation is not even apply because he even told me in the interview the staff turn over was horrible. Sad reality when you did nothing wrong and lose your job in one day. Dr.Scott and Dr. Bowmen bought that comfort Dental and as business owners they may want to take a course on how to run a company and treat people. I guess dental school doesn't offer that course. I was worried about coming here for my recent root canal treatment mostly because of online reviews. Not of this place in particular but other locations around the US. Also because the dentist is only a year out of school. However this location made me feel very calm and his lacking in years didn't matter, Dr. Stephen Sliter did an AMAZING job! He was patient and kind. It didn't take any longer than I expected he listened to my concerns ahead of time... He lack of years and years of experience out weights his compassion and perfectionism.
