They have a washing and sanitizing station when you arrive, a questionnaire, temperature check, and a plexiglass partition for the receptionist. Both the Doctor and Hygienist wore masks. I found the office to be gorgeous and incredibly comfortable. Fashioned after a Whistler lodge, it is woodsy, clean, and totally unique. I could have hung out there all day. Most importantly, the work that they did on my teeth was exceptional. They took the time to get to know my teeth a bit (I am not a regular patient), communicated with me about what needed to be done, and were efficient in fixing the problem. I am now switching back to my Eagan clinic, where I also really liked, and I will be driving 30 minutes out of my way. My issue at North St Paul Dental is their front desk. I set my next cleaning appointment after each cleaning. The last THREE cleaning appointments I scheduled, so in the course of a year and a half, I received a call a couple of weeks prior to the appointment and was told I needed to reschedule because the hygienist would not be in. Okay. I understand it happening once, maybe twice, but three times?? When I brought this up on the third time and asked why they would keep scheduling an appointment for me when no one was available, I got excuses. Turnover, and the hygienist is pregnant. Well that really has nothing to do with me. I have a work schedule that I plan around when I set these appointments. So I reschedule for 12/3 because I like the doctor and hygienist. I get a call on the day of my appointment on 12/3, to confirm my appointment for next week on 12/7. Umm...no. That is a Monday, I never schedule appointments on Mondays, ever. I always have all day meetings on Monday, I've been with my company for 11 years. When I mentioned this could not be right. The receptionist said she would have never scheduled me for the 3rd since they have something going on all day. This might have been believable if they didn't have an issue scheduling my last THREE appointments. She also let me know I must have kept my old appointment, she was insisting my old appointment was 12/3. Umm, no. The original appointment that they needed me to reschedule was on 12/10. I have it in my calendar still and labeled as rescheduled to 12/3. I also have a VOICEMAIL from them on 10/29 asking me to reschedule my 12/10 appointment!!! 12/3 was never my first appointment, it was my new date after rescheduling. I'd love to replay the message for that woman. I also had issues with estimates. The last one was off by a couple hundred. I understand an estimate is not exact, but off by that much?! This I could have continued to overlook, but that along with the inability to schedule, now I'm running. I called to transfer my records and she didn't once ask if I'd consider staying. Horrible customer service. That receptionist doesn't know what she's doing.

I came to Jakubas needing quite a few fillings-- I knew it was coming and was just dreading it. But my dental hygienist & Dr. Swenson really put me at ease, breaking down the work into chunks done over the course of a few months. I was able to get all the dental work I needed, and for much less than what fillings had cost me at my last dentist downtown Minneapolis. The front office staff is really great about being flexible with scheduling, explaining bills, and helping understand dental benefits. The office itself is very clean & bright, on a busy intersection of Minnehaha & 46th, but there is usually parking in their private lot, and there is always street parking nearby. The chairs recently got massagers in them which I am crazy about-- and the hygienists really work to make you comfortable and make a cleaning a nice experience.
