Although this hotel is a bit outdated, my personal experience went GREAT. We had an Airbnb in a different city and had to cancel last minute. Thankfully Comfort Inn was able to accommodate our stay for the ProFootball Hall of Fame weekend. This location was about 20 minutes from the museum and downtown area as well. Mejier, Walmart Supercenter, Dollar Tree, Applebees, Starbucks, Raising Canes, Bob Evan's, Jersey Mikes... so many good places around the inn for food or supplies if needed. I really want to highlight the customer service at the Inn. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and for that I'm grateful! Thank you!! read more

We stayed here for a wedding Saturday to Sunday in 303. We were not able to check in before the wedding as we were running late. It is a little difficult to find as it's behind the mall or what's left of it. The potholes on this road are HORRIBLE. I have a Jeep and my car could barely handle the drive. I have lived with potholes my whole life and have never seen some quite like these. You truly can't even drive around them. The lobby was very spacious and I was pleased to see the pool and hot tub were open. The elevators were a little difficult to find and the front desk wasn't much help. My boyfriend made the comment he never realized anybody was there all weekend as they sat in the back. The room looked fairly clean aside from the stained carpet. There were stains in every color possible. We did not use the microwave or fridge, so I cannot speak for those. We had our room set to 66, but it still did not seem to be cool enough. I was disappointed to find breakfast was still limited to sandwiches, granola bars, yogurt, and coffee. My boyfriend was not a fan of the coffee. THE DIRTIEST hotel I've ever visited...husband and I left after 15 minutes. After speaking with the receptionist, twice, we were told that they don't do refunds. We walked out on $103. There's no way we could have slept in the filthy room. The bathroom door and microwave door were covered in splatter, food, finger prints and who knows what other bodily fluids. The bedding had remnants of old food particles and small black hairs. Good luck locating the entrance of the hotel (it's hidden behind huge department stores) because there are no signs or lights showing how to get there. The only reason we knew we were close by, was the giant Comfort Inn sign at the road but the hotel itself is at least a half mile behind everything. We thought we had a flat tire after attempting to dodge the HUGE pot holes scattered throughout the half mile road leading to the Comfort Inn. Which we were able to locate after 2 failed GPS attempts and a phone call to the receptionist. Who informed us that the road isn't owned by the Comfort Inn, therefore, it's not their problem. Check out the lovely photos of this gem . Lastly, I forgot to mention the two baseball hats and sunglasses that were retrieved near the curtains. Dates of my stay: 6-19-23 to 6-21-23 All of the previous reviews describing the parking lot are true, and worse by now. You practically need an off-road ATV to manage from the traffic light to the entrance of the hotel. While the exterior looked like something out of an old horror movie, I tried to put on a brave face and went inside to see what there was. Upon meeting the front desk lady, I learned that the elevator was out of service, and the hot tub was down. I took a deep breath, rolled the dice, took the stairs to our room, and discovered the toilet in (ahem) very unpleasant condition. We were promptly transferred to a first floor room, which though dated, is very clean. Although I had an agent from Hotels.com contact the front desk to request a reduction in the nights of my stay, they did not accommodate the request and Hotels.com gave me a coupon for a future stay elsewhere to try and make it right. The breakfast we ate this morning was well stocked, kept neat, and the coffee was very good. When I called for extra towels, they brought quickly and with a smile. I've been told that Meijer bought the dead mall which is front of them, so hopefully when it's done this hotel can return to its former glory. But for right now, while in this area, please stay elsewhere. For real. read more

My stay was in July 2021. Forgot to post this review. The potholes(which hotel says they are not responsible for due to it being mall property) are terrible. Trust me when I say this is not an exaggeration. No car with an elderly person, baby or disabled person should travel on the roads/lot leading to this hotel as it could cause injury. My bed frame was broken and bed leaned to one side. COVID led to "grab and go" breakfast as opposed to the usual hotel breakfast. The grab and go breakfast sandwiches we frozen solid each morning....they were only grab and go if you have a microwave in your car. The view out the window was terrible...abondoned shopping carts and a lake in the parking lot. I never felt safe leaving my rental car in the lot at night. There are much better options in Alliance for a little bit of extra money. Trust me...spend the extra money. read more

Upon arrival at this place the potholes swallowed my car whole as we navigated our way to the back of an abandoned looking mall. When we went to check in the person at the front desk made a mistake (she later said I made the mistake while using the app that I booked through, I didn't book through an app) while running my card and told me that she had to run it again (I booked through AAA and for some reason when she entered the member number it deleted the transaction on her end). Whatever the reason, she told me repeatedly after I paid and the machine said the transaction was authorized that the only way I was getting a room is if I pay ANOTHER $150. I made sure the transaction had been taken from my account and then told her that there was no reason for me to run my card again. She argued with me that if that's the case she wasn't going to give me a room. I tried to calmly ask her that if she was in my shoes would she pay double for a hotel room and she said of course she would and that I obviously don't understand how a hotel works (for the record I have never said that I do. I just didn't want to pay double for a room. She then told me then that she had to handle the rest of the customers and the callers on hold on the phone (in her defense she was the only person working as far as I could see) and then when she had time she would try to get ahold of the manager. I walked outside (mostly to calm myself) and told my (16 year old) son to text me of she found out a solution and in the meantime I was going to call AAA. He did text me and tell me to come in a few minutes later and the lady at the front desk was SO MEAN TO ME when I came back in. She told me multiple times that she did get ahold of the manager and he was going to WAIVE THE SECOND CHARGE FOR THE ROOM. The third time she said that I said, "I am not sure why you're trying to make it sound like you are doing me a favor. I paid for the room l, nothing has been waived and I'd appreciate if you'd stop acting as if your manager gave us something I didn't already pay for." With that she lost her mind and started telling me about all of the things that she was going to charge us for if we broke something (I get that they have to say that but it was definitely in an unnecessarily rude tone. She then told me to have a good f-ing night. I didn't even know what to respond to that. So all I was thinking as I was walking to the room is please don't let there be any problem with the room at all. If only that were the case. So the bed is crooked, the bathroom outlets don't work and the we-are-a-great-hotel-if-you-need-anything-just-ask-the-kind-front-desk-lady-who-told-you--to-F-Off card (both front and back) are absolutely filthy with what looks like some previous guest's coffee and other random dirt that I'd rather not even try to identify. So to recap, I drove 4 1/2 hours to pay $150 for a room in a hotel (for only one night mind you) to hit a level of angry which led to me walking the parking lot instead of sleeping because everything about this stay has rubbed me wrong and I'm way too much on edge to even think of sleep. For an update I went out to my car an have a flat from the potholes in the parking lot. And the people at Comfort Inn customer relations will "call me back." read more

Worst hotel/motel I've ever stayed in. Bedbugs. I mean, I've caught and photographed 6 live ones and I have accumulated 11 bites in 2 hours, 2 in private areas. I stripped the bed of all but the sheeting and I made sure it's tightly fitting, but I'm still being bitten every time I lay down. There's a bedbug graveyard behind the headboard...dried up exoskeletons everywhere. I can't change rooms because I'm here as part of the Stark County DIP. (Sign up for Massillon if you have to take the DIP.) Screw this noise. I am reduced to staying awake all night in the bathroom to not disturb my roomie. read more

I arrived and was greeted by a woman dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt. Seemed a bit unprofessional but she did her job and got me checked in. The room was remodeled, clean and comfortable....::until.....::I realized the air conditioner from the 1970s wasn't working. The refrigerator in the room was also not working. The outside needs serious cleaning and repaving. The potholes and walkway make it a challenge to get from a parking space to the desk without falling nearly impossible. While the appearance of the hotel, inside and out, is a little rough around the edges, the hotel rooms and lobby are kept clean. There were some minor food stains on various items in my room (the tv channel guide had what I assume is pizza on it- as did the wall). The duvet on one of the beds also had some kind of sticky stain on it and the bed skirt also had some orangish-reddish stain on it. These are my only cleanliness complaints in the room. The comfort of the room is no issue. The only somewhat annoying thing is the air conditioner. It has a variety of weird and concerning sounds when it is on, but again, not a huge issue. Not much that can be done there. As for breakfast, you can't hold that against them for being safe during COVID. Most hotels are currently doing grab-and-go breakfasts. All staff I've spoken to have been polite. Location is somewhat of an issue. It's around back of Carnation City Mall, and the appearance of the mall is very obviously unkept. This is no fault of Comfort Inn, however. The mall also fails to maintain its parking lots, so getting in and out of the hotel is a struggle due to insane (truly insane) potholes. This makes the outside of the hotel look kind of rough. As does the lighting and overall cosmetic conditions inside the lobby. Definitely in need of some TLC in terms of cosmetics and lighting. The hotel should purchase the parking lot around it and repair. Having stayed at both the Hampton Inn in Alliance and now the Comfort Inn, I can say both are fairly competitive but Hampton Inn has the edge. Only due to it being much more modern and obviously well kept due to it being built much later. But both are very nice hotels and the Comfort Inn just needs some updates. read more

Firstly I have written a few reviews on hotels , reason being is I travel a lot and hate getting a nasty hotel. I have no idea why this place is rated so low? Maybe we have arrived after a remodel but we are In too 415 and this place is nice. Everything is clean, room is spacious, new tv and everything else from the carpet to the ceiling and everything in between. Bathroom. Is very nice but could use some more water pressure. We stayed In alliance last year around this time and stayed at the holiday in and the super 8 (now Americas best in ) and this comfort inn surpasses both of them by far am to be honest we are paying 79$ a night here. Will recommend to anyone an everyone! Only reason it doesn't have a 5 star is their is no connected bar or grille. It is connected to the mall tho but it closed at 9-10 ish I believe. Decent hotel at best. I swear this place is either a half way house for early release folks from incarceration or the local police pass out stay vouchers the less fortunate folks from the area, which makes the atmosphere very uncomfortable to say the least. They "rent out" the pool for community events, which is nice, but that just makes it a public crowded pool. Outdated rooms and just ok staff make it a last resort for future visits. read more

I loved the location, it is behind the Mall near the Wal-Mart, Lowes, Applebees The place is pet friendly (unlike the Hampton Inn down the road) and our small dogs are perfect travelers and quickly became the focus of many snuggles with the staff and other pet loving guests We even booked another room so my wife's sister and her kids could come up from Homeworth to do a pool party and pajama night out It also did not hurt that Comfort has their promotion going of stay twice and get a $50 gift card. That cuts the cost of stay down to a no brainer Room was clean and didn't smell Beds were nice and pillows slept great Staff seemed very nice, never had an issue as they were very kind and happy we had a pet along with us, no issues there. They staff even asked to pet them Only complaint is not the hotel's fault, the parking lot is maintained by the Mall and could use some attention as it was rough but the stay was still great I would stay here the next time I am in town read more

PROS: Staff is friendly. Nice indoor pool area. Connected to a shopping mall with a movie theater. Close to local eateries. Beds are very sleep-able. Shower is fantastic. They have bed bugs!!!! My girlfriend and I stayed in room 313 and it was a bed bug buffet. I have 20 to 30 bites on my body and she has them all over as well. I called to speak with the manager. He offered no apology, did not take my information or anything. Simply said, we've never had a call about this before. And asked how we knew it was from their hotel. Well, we haven't sleep anywhere other than our own place for months. It wasn't till I said that I just wanted to bring it to his attention so future guest don't get bitten, that he said thanks. Room looked like garbage, no outlets (unless you unplugged something), smelt like a smoking room even though it was non smoking, and had love stains on the ironing board. Better than I expected. Stayed here for a wedding. Before settling in we checked the room thoroughly for bed bugs. The beds were immaculately clean. The heater was questionable and left something to be desired, as even though it was set at 68 we woke up sweating and had to turn it down to 60. The dynamite housekeeping staff made up for the problem with the heater though. The water pressure in the toilet was low, so I accidentally clogged the toilet with feces pieces during a courtesy flush. I called the front desk, and they immediately sent someone up to rectify the problem. She cleaned it out for us and reminded me to hold down the handle. Wow that is lifesaving advice. Stayed here for three nights to visit some family that resides in the local area. I had a hard time locating the place off of the main road at first. They have a tall sign displayed, but it was only when I remembered it was behind a mall did I go around back of the stores and found the place. The people who work there are all very friendly, and helpful. It obviously is an older building that has been renovated. Room was spacious, and clean. The heating/AC unit is of the older wall types found in old motels. You can adjust to a temperature, and the fan goes on from time to time to "push" the heat. One problem I found was that the bathroom was VERY cold, even with the outside temps being in the low 40s. I would hate to be there when it's REALLY cold. Shower was both strong and very warm. Felt great. Clean towels were stacked on the shelving around the sink. Breakfast is included, and it is adequate. Includes make it yourself waffles, cold cereals, eggs, yogurt, fruit, juice, etc. There is an indoor pool that looked ok, if that's your thing. You can walk right through to the mall without going outside. I wouldn't recommend it, thought. Mall is one of the most depressing places I've been to. They had Christmas decorations up, and they had Christmas music, but few shoppers. And this was on a Friday night. There is a movie in the mall if you are looking to kill some time. As indicated by some other reviewers, the parking lot is a disaster. Pot holes galore. Worth the money I paid, I would use again if I went back to this area. read more

I stayed one night for business in this hotel. Is located behind a broken down old mall. The parking lot looks like there was an explosion as there was so many holes. It was also kind of dark and I was honestly a little nervous about my car being out there overnight . The workout facility was a joke. It looks as though the rooms may have been remodeled but they still had a dingy feel to them. My bedsheets had stains on them down near where my feet were. I wouldn't stay here again. Not bad for the price. It's clear they're making an effort here. Does smell of smoke in the common areas. Very nice beds. Bad tv. Furniture is dated and wobbly...hard to work at the desk in the room. Places to eat and shop nearby. The connected mall is trashy; you'll hear bassmobiles all night long. Front desk staff was less than impressive. Had nice fridge and microwave. Bad pillows. Plenty of outlets. Would stay here again as there's a lot worse out there. No signs of bedbugs in my room or common areas, I checked thoroughly. I was pleasantly surprised! Very clean room, and service with a smile. The room had a sofa bed and was a good size.

The lobby and common areas are no frills, except for the pool area which looked nicer. It has an institutional uninviting feel. The room was acceptable, though some of the other reviewers comments rang true regarding the smoke smell and lack of outlets. read more
