Wife & I only made reservations at this place because we saw photos of the rooms in a magazine ad. That may sound pathetic but when a hotel doesn't show photos of their rooms I grow weary as to the up keep of their facility. When we arrived the hotel is situated across the street from the beach, though not a public beach. Reception area is small and it has a swimming pool that is relatively small (posted is 50pp max). The room we booked was a double bed (queen size beds) with flat panel TV, small double drawer table, closet, showered bathroom (no tub) and a small sink in the room with closet. Only negative for us was it didn't have a small refrigerator or microwave which we have grown used to having at hotels when we travel. Overall we were very impressed with the hotel, it's facilities and the price. We definitely would stay here again.

My husband was sent to Puerto Rico on business, and I decided to join him. I wanted to be near water, and he had to be near work, so this popped up on Orbitz.com. The room is small and clean, and our room overlooks the highway, but just on the other side of the highway is a palm tree-lined beach. The pool is fun and gets lots of sun. The complimentary breakfast is actually pretty decent. Real scrambled eggs, cubed ham, cereals, toast, pastries, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juices. For the price, I would recommend staying here if you plan adventuring around the area and just need a place to sleep but not if you are looking for a resort.

This hotel i don't recommend to anyone they lied on they site about the amenities they don't not have a jacuzzi they never did they do have a pool & it's really cold & the small area that looks like a jacuzzi it's not it's part of the pool & they Roof TOP RESTURANT HAS BEEN CLOSE FOR OVER 8 MONTH'S u would think they will have that on they site but they don't that's why I pick this hotel for the roof top Resturant & jacuzzi & THEY LIED ABOUT BEING ON THE BEACH THEY ARE NOT ON THE BEACH THEY ARE A CROSS FROM THE BEACH & U CAN'T NOT SWIM IN THE BEACH u have to go down a few blocks to the beach area

This highway traffic is right in front of the rooms honking horns starting at 6am sharp.

Las Villas Motel - The view of the cockatoo cage outside the tiny door in our wall. Pobrecito!

    Las Villas Motel

    (2 reviews)

Oh boy kiddies! You are in for a wondrous treat if you decide to stay at Motel Las Villas!…read more My brother and I decided to stay here during our recent trip to this glorious island slum known as Puerto Rico. We found this motel using Facebook search and it had some pretty decent reviews. The big draw was the cost. For only $25 a night, we were promised everything from rose petals on the bed to a warm, relaxing jacuzzi tub to a rip roaring "love machine"! Sounds intriguing. We arrived at this tropical "resort" and were immediately impressed by the grounds and the architecture. It was a stunningly beautiful, hidden gem. We pulled up to the main office and a sleazy, servant of a man greeted us quickly. He offered us a room for the previously noted price and we were eager to get a good night's rest. He directed us to our humble abode for the evening. First off, you pull into a garage and then hand over the cash. This place is actually rented in 8-hour blocks. That was kind of weird. We didn't want to stay for 16-hours so we opted for the 8-hour rental. The attendant then showed us to the inside. What horrors ensued I have never seen before. As soon as we walked in, there was a musty odor that filled the one room rental. I say one room because there is no bathroom door. The television was blaring and had a very unappealing pornographic film on of a significantly well fed woman enjoying herself. The attendant then left for the evening. The room is very dark and dank. Everything in the room is bolted down, except for the chairs. We were afraid to sit on or touch anything in the room. We inspected the mattress which had a plastic cover on it topped with thin, cheap sheets. We never pulled the sheets down to discover anything underneath. The chairs had plastic covered cushions with multiple tears. The small table was kind of sticky. It was poorly decorated with cheap, plastic flowers and old pictures on the wall. The floor is a cheap vinyl floor. The bathroom is easily accessible...because it is in the same room. There is a bidet and a nasty toilet that had little to no water pressure. In the toilet, fairly long fecal matter spun slowly, mimicking a twirling baton. The shower is a stall. We did not use the shower at all for fear of catching something. The room is air conditioned and has a small, old, tube style television with several pornographic channels. The remote was broken so you had to change the channel by hand. The most curious of the room was a small, wooden door of the wall. When we opened the peculiar door, it led to the outside and there was a large, white cockatoo in a cage right there. The poor bird had a look upon him as if he had witnessed horrific acts of debauchery. I could have sworn that he uttered, "Rape." ever so faintly. The small door had no lock and was about a foot and a half wide and the same in length. It allowed for multiple biting insects to come and go as they pleased. We stacked our suitcases up in front of it to hopefully keep people out as someone could have easily climbed in it. We slept only a couple of hours and poorly at that. We slept on top of the sheets in all of our clothes. Above the head of the bed is a small, wooden perch. We assumed that this was the "coaching perch" for the bird of love sitting outside of the small wooden door. We could envision him sitting there, yelling "stroke....stroke..." as seen in the films with Ancient Greek Triremes. In the morning, you simply get up and drive off. You don't a key or anything to return. There are other people who are also leaving. Again, you notice how lovely the grounds are, adding to the bewilderment of the entire experience. All in all, this place is horrific. It's like a bad dream where you are luring into something that looks nice, but then turns out to be a really bad decision. We are assuming that this is a place used for intercourse by random people who want to have affairs. Shame on them. If you would even consider taking your clothes off in a place like this, you are probably the lowest of the low or already have something that you can't catch from this place. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and I will never stay here again. Spend the extra money and get a decent place to sleep for the evening. I have added some pictures of the experience.

This second half of the definition apparently does not exist in PR. On driving up to the Las Villas Motel, my brother and I were in awe. The lovely, well-kept grounds promised beauteous things to come. Pulling up to the guard shack, for lack of a better word, we mentioned we had seen online that we could get a room for the night for a scant $25. The man looked down a checklist for a moment before giving a slow nod. He hopped into a golf cart and drove up to a shack only slightly larger than his guard post. Waving us into the tiny carport, he walked in behind us to collect his money. 8 hours he said, not a whole night. We shrugged and handed him the money, quite tired from our flights and rental car ordeal. During this time I could hear an odd screeching noise coming from inside the room. Before leaving us he opened the door to point us to the bed and bathroom, like we couldn't find our way around in the tiny 1-room unit. It was at this time that the source of the screeching noise was revealed to me; the television in the room was absolutely blaring some of the most horribly disgusting pornography I've ever seen. I would actually have considered giving this place two stars if it had been something any halfway decent person could ever want to watch, but I mean this shit could gag a maggot. The man looked at it for a moment, nonplussed, before turning and walking out. He closed the tiny garage door behind him and so we were sealed in our filthy cell for the remainder of the night. The first order of business was to turn off the wretched, discordant film. I snatched up the remote and began mashing the channel buttons, but naturally it was broken. Darting to the television, I changed the channel manually only to reveal an even more depraved and revolting film. I kept pushing the button until I saw a newscaster. I don't even like watching the news, but anything was better than those horrible things that had been blaring as our welcome. Upon taking a look around us, we began to realize that $25 was probably overpaying for this craphole. A tiny door in the middle of the wall sat without a lock. Looking into it, it made a right turn and led to nothing. A few feet away from the opening was a cage harboring a very sad looking cockatoo. We closed the door and began to survey the rest of the room. The mattress rested atop a concrete slab in a way that reminded me of the Flintstones. The sheets atop it had a couple of disgusting looking stains on them. The ceiling above the bed had a very large mirror on it. There was an odd empty shelf over the bed on one side that looked something like a perch. I can only hope that they don't rent out that poor cockatoo to some depraved sex perverts. The sparse furniture was bolted down and a couple of filthy decorations adorned the room. Walking into the bathroom (or was I still in the bedroom? there was no door) revealed a tiny sink, a filthy bidet and toilet and a shower stall. I would rather have showered in a gas station men's restroom. The toilet was broken so we had to use the shower to relieve ourselves. I slept in sweaty, intermittent bursts atop the sheets using my backpack as a pillow. These catnaps were punctuated by bites from mosquitoes that came in through the tiny door which did not have any sort of seal. I couldn't wait for the 8 hours to be up, or rather for it to be early enough to go anywhere but this horrible place. We began packing up at the first hint of light outside and left as soon as possible, certain never to return. I thought I had stayed at some pretty sleaze places before, but Las Villas takes the cake.

FYI, I am a a Hilton diamond member since 2013 and never experienced such a bad customer service anywhere. I'm stocked in this hotel because of business guidelines and policies. I am writing this review since I felt disrespected and humiliated and now harassed. This main issue is main parking gate key doesn't open the gate in the evenings. It works fine in the morning and doesn't work in the evening. It is interesting it shows my room number in the screen as it shows in the morning but gate doesn't open. I reported this to the front dest and replaced the key 4 times. The gate doesn't open and there are cars behind. The only option is to hit the horn which the big problem happens. Security comes and shows attitude like it's my fault it doesn't work. I asked the security if he can help which I got more attitude. He has to use his fob key to open the gate. This story is ongoing every single day I go out. No issue when ai get inside. It gets worse with more attitude and I call it now harassment. I blame hotel management for hiring contractors with obvious lack of trainings of hospitality, skillsets and respect at their front line for their hotel. Is it really happening in the US in 2025? Anything I need to do to go in and out of hotel without receiving attitude? Is there anything I am doing wrong? I look forward for comments.

After spending the first half of the trip hiking and venturing out in San Juan, it was nice to go to a more remote part of the island and relax. Plus, free happy hours and breakfast...what more do you need?! I'll start with the amenities. The three levels of pools made the area feel bigger than it was. There were conventions going on while we stayed, so it was crowded, but we managed to find chairs both days. The best part was the easy access to a private beach. Plenty of seating and space for couple and families to spread out. The water is also incredible! But I recommend wearing some sort of water shoes due to seaweed and some rocks depending on where you wander. The food and service went beyond my expectations. To accommodate my wife's gluten allergy, the server at the poolside restaurant managed to secure us *baked French fries, which no one had ever done for her before. That was amazing. The burger I had at the indoor restaurant was also very good. The prices for those meals were pretty inexpensive for a hotel. As for the free items, the happy hours were pleasant. Not the biggest *wow factors, but still...it's free. The breakfasts are well worth waking up for, and as other reviewers pointed out, Jorge's omelettes were supreme. If you're a millennial like myself, stepping into this Embassy Suites is jumping back things I found fascinating as a child. There's a koi pond! And the glass indoor elevators still amaze me. Yes...the carpets and some aesthetics feel outdated. The bedroom carpets felt out of place and old, and should be removed for tile at some point. But if the 2005 vibe is the reason we could afford staying here, I'll take it! As an added bonus, across the parking lot, there are other restaurants, a bowling alley, driving range, and go carts! There's also a casino with live poker and roulette if you're feeling lucky. This resort truly has something for everyone. Make sure to order a piña colada and soak in the good vibes.

Yes, the views are beautiful and the air conditioning works well. Everything else is deeply disappointing. The rooms are dusty, dated, and poorly maintained. Water pressure is abysmal. There is no daily housekeeping, no towel refresh, and no sense that guest comfort is a priority at all. The most egregious issue: constant, extremely loud music blasting from ~9:45 AM until midnight (and sometimes beyond). This isn't ambient background music--it's intrusive, unavoidable, and completely inappropriate for a place that markets itself as a hotel. When we asked staff--politely--to turn it off at midnight on a Sunday, we were told: "We'll turn it off when we want to turn it off." That interaction captures the service here perfectly. The staff were consistently rude, dismissive, and at times openly hostile. At one point, our friends were locked out of their room, and a staff member refused to help, saying: "I'm on my break and I can't help you." We ultimately had to call the San Juan police to resolve both the lockout and the noise issue. This is not quirky or charming--it's unprofessional and unacceptable, particularly for a room that's almost $350 a night. The Gallery Inn feels less like a hotel and more like a self-indulgent art project that resents its guests. It's trying to monetize a vibe while ignoring the most basic standards of hospitality. Avoid.
