They are renovating. My mom is allergic to fresh paint. They didn't care. Everything is torn apart the water barely works. The pool room has no ventilation and is dripping water from the ceiling. The phones in the room don't work so I had to google the phone number for the front desk. They hung up on my twice and answered the third time I called. I asked if they had a blow dryer because I forgot mine. They do have them but they don't keep them in the room. You have to go down to the desk. They don't keep enough staff on hand to actually bring one to you! read more

Room was king suite with sofa bed. Carpets sticky and gross. Air hard to use had to ask front desk. Sofa bed blanket had stains not sure if it was clean. King suite the cover that is on the frame was stained with dried semen, never washed. The outlets are far away hard to charge a phone. No usb ports at least in bedroom. Not sure about living room. Not sure if the rest of the blankets are washed either. If not for these things the stay would have been perfect. The front desk was very polite and kind. They should call this hotel "Comfort For A Fool". I took my family to the Poconos for my daughters 14th birthday. I didn't feel comfortable staying at the Kalahari Resort because it was Spring Break season for students and there were a lot of people at their resort. I was able to reserve the Comfort Inn only 10 mins from there for $162.00 per night. We arrived a little after 3pm, the check in time and the lobby was empty so it went very smoothly. We stayed in a Queen bedroom on the 2nd floor, but when we entered the room my kids and I immediately smelled cigarettes. They have rules in the check in area that clearly states smoking is not permitted in the rooms. Yet it smelled in my room and I found a used cigar casing under the bed. I had cleaning supplies and immediately started cleaning up and spraying around the room. The other negative was picking up the phone only to find out it didn't work. I had to call the front desk from my mobile and ask for towels and wash clothes. One hour later still no towels and I had to check out by 11am. I had to go down to the front desk and was told the cleaning person didn't come into work until 11am. She asked if I could wait and I explained I needed to shower and check out before 11am. She went into the back office and came back with clean towels and wash clothes. I was so upset I could've come down sooner if she explained the person was not in until check out time. I could've started enjoying my daughters birthday at Kalahari sooner. I wish I spent the money to stay at another hotel even if it was further away from Kalahari and Great Wolfe Lodge. I made every attempt to obtain a refund, even though I reserved a non refundable room, I would think that a major company would have compassion for a woman who was diagnosed with heart issues. They would not refund me my one night stay, each time I called they hung up on me, and the only way to get in touch with them is to drive there which is 2 1/2 hours away. I would not recommend staying at any country Inn and suite due to poor customer relations. read more

This hotel is conveniently located on Rt.940. With a Walmart, Taco Bell, McDonalds,Lowes, CVS and Weiss within a 2 minute drive. This economy style hotel is able to accommodate small and large parties alike. Many people their children and the grandparents, which I assume makes the hotel a good choice for families. There is free parking on the property. However, it is attached to an abandoned building so I would suggest being vigilant when going out to your car at night. Breakfast is served every morning from 6am-9am by a very friendly and organized staff member. They have the classic waffle maker, individually wrapped bakery items, fruit, one meat, eggs, and hot/cold cereal available every day. Coffee is available via a machine or you can make it in your room. Although, the front desk was limited in the service they could provide they were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel for families planning to have a brief stay in Mount Pocono. read more

Stay away. Bedbug infestation and dismissive management. Stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites located at 3189 Route 940, Mount Pocono, PA, 18344 several times before, never had any issues until this weekend. Room 209 looked clean when we checked in to our double bed room. Spent the whole day out and came back to sleep. The next morning my little sister woke up with an eye swollen shut and she was covered in dozens of bites, all along her arms, legs, back, chest and face. Pics below. It wasn't busy -- no other guests in the lobby and less than five cars in the parking lot, but the manager took over fifteen minutes to come speak with us about this issue. Despite showing her images of the bites all over my sister, the manager insisted that there was just no telling what REALLY caused the bites without a visit to ER and was deeply reluctant to shift us to another room. "The same thing or worse could happen in another room." Yeah, like staying in one that was obviously infested was a sound solution! She just kept repeating that moving rooms might not solve the issue and that the best thing to do would be to have the housekeeping staff freshen up. If that had worked, we wouldn't be in this mess! Eventually, the manager asked to inspect the room and we insisted on being moved again and she relented and arranged for us to move to another room, 112. There was no apology of any kind -- no sorry, no coupon or credit, no offer to clean our bags/clothing, nothing. We had to pay THEM and haul all our clothes into the guest laundry dryer and blast it at high heat to hopefully kill any of the bedbugs stowing away in our belongings. Going by the other reviews, this is not an isolated incident. Spend your time and money elsewhere. read more

This place is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Housekeeping service not provided. Breakfast: Eggs and Sausages were gone by the time I got there at 6:30 a.m. Everything else .... nothing much else. A/C System was broken: Fan speed could not be adjusted. / Cool air not coming out. / Air Deflector broken. / Very noisy. The desk was positioned next to the A/C system, so that air was blowing directly on person sitting at the desk. Instead of a desk chair, a nook chair was used. Only two electrical outlet available at the desk - one used for the desk lamp, and the other for the refrigerator. Therefore, there were no power source for a laptop or any other device at the desk. The mini-frig was not leveled - It rocked every time it was opened and closed. Shallow closed: Hangers had to be hanged at an angle. Staff attitude - acted like they didn't want to be there. Shower-head needed cleaning to allow smooth water-flow. One lamp non-operational. read more

Stayed here while attending an event at the Kalahari, as the rooms there were expensive even at the convention rate. Though our event was just outside the summer season, the rooms here were still expensive at almost $200 per night. Comfort Inn has plenty of parking, but the entrance is on a divided highway, so to enter you might have to turn around. Check in with having a reservation was easy even though the hotel was full and they have an elevator to access all three floors. Rooms are small and relatively lean, except for the large mini refrigerator. Hotel rooms had some wear and tear as expected, but we also had issues with the TV having deadlines and the large wall mounted heating/cooling unit barely working. The beds were also quite uncomfortable. Hotel had a complimentary breakfast that was ok and included all the usual items including eggs, pancakes, potatoes, sausage, coffee, juice, etc. Overall, this place is ok for a short stay, especially off season when the rooms are much cheaper. During the summer season? Only if it was an emergency due to the higher costs. read more

Rented out rooms for my sisters wedding this past weekend. Not only were the rooms OVERBOOKED, they somehow completed deleted the reservations we made. So we had over 20 guests without rooms and it was too far of a drive to go home afterwards!!! The lady at the front desk was absolutely horrific. Told us it sounded like our problem to deal with. No apologies and no helping us find other rooms or Hotels. She completely dismissed us and had an awful attitude. This place is by far the worst hotel I've ever experienced. This is mostly based on condition of our room, amenities and customer service. First off our brief couple of visits with front desk was very pleasant. Nothing times greates with a smile easy check in/out. The rest of this visit was poor as far as our room. While the pool was not working neither was any vending machine in the building. The washer and dryer worked though. We stayed 3 days we did get extra towels when asked for. We also did get our sheets changed after requesting. I booked a king and was given a queen and a sofa sleeper. No bueno in our books why should anyone half to use the sofa as a replacement when given a queen. 2 tvs which was nice but one control operated both. Bed was lumpy ac/heater loud. We never made breakfast any of the days so dont know. Was overpriced for what we got. Pillows were like seat cushion size. Did have alot of plugs. Condition was poor all around. Staff was great, very attentive. This hotel is ran down the rooms are not worth the $275 I paid. I upgraded to a suite for $17 extra and it didn't have any of the amenities. The tv was missing, tape all over the walls, the toilet stopped working on the second day. By the third morning my husband was told you cannot shower and use the toilet at the same time! The AC smelled. The bed sat on wood 4x4's. There were unexplainable stains all over the couch. Which was an extra amenity we couldn't sit on. The shower had hot water but the shower head needed help, the blow dryer looked like it hadn't been touched in awhile with all the dust. Wish I had time to research a better place to stay, I would've left and went somewhere else. read more

I had an event there today for my sons birthday. I had family drive up 2 hrs and book rooms to participate in the joyous occasion. We arrived and I checked in to room 201 dropped of bags and began to enjoy family and friends in the pool area as well as the common area of the hotel. Everything we did I made sure to ask permission from hotel management ie sitting in common area, singing happy birthday and cutting the birthday cake. We stayed in the pool until closed. Management came in and let us know it was closing so we cleaned up and piled the wet towels together to make it easier for the cleaning staff. At this point we all go to the rooms that we paid for. These rooms were not discounted as I was told by Assistant GM Tamisha that she can only make changes if we booked 10 or more rooms. While in the room we get a call from my cousin who says don't get comfortable his room has bedbugs. Right after another booked room also has bedbugs. I go and undress my bed and there they were. Not only that but there was trash behind the headboard. Now I had to pack up and abruptly end my sons slumber party. I had to tell parents that dropped off their children that plans changed due to the room issues. When I go downstairs to address my concern I'm told that I would have to speak to corporate. That there is nothing that could be done for me because I had an event and enjoyed myself. I was offered by the manager to have housekeeping vacuum the bugs. I was also told that checking for bugs while visiting a hotel was unheard of. I chose this hotel because I was shown the room prior to booking. I was given a tour of the property by the Assistant GM Tamisha. I'm sure when someone is looking for a venue it's a ideal to tour the facility. Please keep in mind the tour did not include undressing the beds nor checking behind headboards. This evening I find that with series of events management dropped the ball. Management was accusatory, dismissive and definitely not accommodating. I'm very unhappy with the way the night ended for my son. There was not one apology, not one offer to make it right. Video and pictures are available and management accused myself and my family of lying and trying to get a refund. Corporate will hear from me and hopefully they will send the current management team for customer service and critical thinking training. read more

This past weekend my family and I stayed at Kalahari. After the second day, in the past, we've always stayed this hotel and never have had a bad experience. We'll this week proved us wrong. I called to make a reservation and after being hung up on I was told a room would be waiting for me. When we arrived the room was never blocked off and the women behind the desk was horrible. Comfort Inn is a business and should have more professional people behind the counter. She was curing in front of my children, picked up her personal cell phone when we were standing in front of her and told us how she's quitting. I'm sorry, I'm on vacation with my family. So we quickly left. Two days later $400 came out of my account because they charged my card anyway. When I called to speak to the manager she was on the phone. Got hung up on again. Called again and the manager mysteriously left. It was 3:45 in the afternoon. She then called me the next day and said she would have to look into it. I then called her back at 1pm and she was nasty. Horrible customer service and spoke down to me. I then had to get the company involved because my money was being held longer. I would not recommend this business anymore. HORRIBLE! I would give zero stars if it were an option. We have used this hotel for trips to the Poconos in the past but this will surely be the last. The front desk receptionist was nice at check in but everything went downhill from there. I woke up in the morning with one of my eyes swollen shut and covered in bug bites. When we went to talk to the front desk we had to wait over 20 minutes to speak with the manager who immediately began to downplay our concerns. We had to practically beg for another room and she didn't offer an apology or any other accommodations. We were eventually moved to another room which luckily was not infested. Avoid room 209 like the plague because I don't feel that our complaints were taken seriously. I understand that bed bugs can happen at any hotel, it was the poor response to the situation that I am furious about. My rating of this hotel is not so much because of what it is, but what it could be. The staff was unfailingly nice and friendly. The rooms were relatively comfortable and ours was pretty clean. But the walls in our room had mismatched paint and needed some repair. The breakfast I'm sorry to say was pretty sad. Part of the problem was they clearly hadn'y planned feeding the number of guests they had, so they ran out of food pretty regularly. Also the healthier items ran out very quickly and weren't replaced. Things like yogurt and fruit cups. In the end the only satisfying thing I had to eat was a bowl of cereal. We reserved a room for four people with two beds, yet we only had two towels in the bathroom. That just doesn't make any sense. One thing that really bothered me was with past 4 local attraction information. They have a desk at the hotel with someone standing there purportedly to help you find things to do. But when we approached her all she did was recommend a timeshare sales pitch that was going on nearby. She clearly didn't know about anything else. I kind of wonder whether or not the hotel even knew that she was doing that and she was just making a few extra bucks by sending people to the timeshare. But the one thing I do know is that she wasn't any help to us in finding things to do. read more

This Comfort Inn was not a good experience, I was on a business trip, at booking the price was 84 dollars a night but at checkout I was charged 96 a night. The room in desperate need of a upgrade. I did not have a microwave in my room but my 3 travel partners all had microwaves. I was told that my room was a basic room so it didn't Include one. We all ended up paying the 96 dollar rate. They did not honor the government tax free paperwork, and charged us the taxes which has caused a nightmare when trying to get reimbursed and the voucher paid. We checked out early in the morning and the receipt did not include the final day, although we were charged it. I was told to call and they would send me a complete receipt later in the day. When I called. I was told they couldn't do that and I should have asked for one when I checked out. Choice hotels really needs to look into this unit and if they were smart they would pull their name off the building. read more

Had the bed been more comfortable, I would have given this hotel a higher rating. I wasn't expecting a high class hotel due to the price, but I've stayed at Holiday Inn Expresses and La Quintas with comfortable beds, so I think Comfort Inn can do the same. I'm in my early 30s and tossed and turned all night with a sore back due to the extremely hard mattress. I like firm mattresses, but it felt like sleeping on the floor. The side of our mattress was shredding apart, so I'm not sure how updated the beds are or if some rooms are better than others. We also paid a bit more to reserve a king suite with a whirlpool tub, and it didn't work all weekend. The shower had great water pressure, and the water got HOT without running out easily. The heater also got hot too, so you never have to worry about being cold in the room! The room was fine otherwise too, clean and plenty of space. Past reviews mentioned that the 3rd floor used to be for smokers, and you can smell a hint of smoke in the hallway, but I didn't smell it in our room. I liked the 3rd floor as it was quieter, and the king suite was opposite end of the elevator for even more privacy. The complimentary hot breakfast was ok, but I wouldn't judge a hotel based on this fact alone. Remember, it's FREE, so you can't really complain much. The eggs didn't look real, and the potatoes tasted stale, but the cereal and waffles were good. In fact, they had regular and cinnamon waffle batter that was delicious! They also had donuts, bagels, and toast with yogurt and apples, so it was quite a variety! The drive into town at Mount Pocono, the outlets, and Camelback was close, so the location is good. For the price, it's hard to beat this place. We made a last minute trip, so the only other option available was $400+ for a room at Mt. Airy Casino. Next time I will try the Best Western Plus by Camelback or pay more to stay at Camelback until this place gets new beds! It's worth the sleep! read more

Went away for a weekend of skiing with my boyfriend and thought that this would be a good place to stay because of its location. I was very wrong. The room was beyond dirty, with hangnails bitten off and placed on the nightstand, a large brown stain on the ceiling, a piece of half eaten chocolate on the floor, stains on the walls and doors. It was as if the room had never been cleaned. I was beyond disgusted with the comforter. Why would they place a white comforter in the room with over a dozen stains of different colors?! I refused to sleep with it and opted to turn the heat up and sleep with the sheet. Also, the tv was not even setup and my boyfriend had to set it up before we could use it. Got into bed later in the night trying to get comfortable and got cut by a small piece of glass! I checked the bed and found another tiny piece of glass! I've been in quite a few hotels, and this is likely one of the better ones I've been in. We arrived for business about 2:45, check-in was at 3. My co-worker had some trouble with her reservation, but the general manager of Comfort Inn, Anthony Regan (I know because I have his card), spent a lot of time with her to help her out and get her the cheapest rate. He was extremely helpful, very personable, and during our conversation we explained to him that we were up in the area on a house hunting assignment. Anthony then helped us out and gave us some extremely helpful information, something that I really believe (honestly) no other front desk person, even the manager, would have done, as most don't care about you, but Anthony showed otherwise. My room was great (is great, as I'm writing this on my laptop from within the room). My coworkers room did smell a little ...off. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but it smells like the A/C is stinky. She spoke to the front desk and they quickly helped her and will likely move her to another room, and what more can you ask for? Everything is very nice, the hotel has a nice great lobby, a pool and the room has everything I'd expect. Is it the greatest hotel in the history of hotels? No, don't be a smart ass. It's a nice, standard hotel with staff that go above and beyond, and because of that I'm a fan of this Comfort Inn, and will be recommending friends and family stay here if a hotel is needed. And, just so we're clear, I don't know what other people in other reviews are smoking (clearly, it's some good shit), but they write reviews of this place (not just Yelp, but other review sites) and they bash this place. Uh, are you paying $250 or more a night? I didn't think so, cheap-stake Kate, so why are you expecting the finest room in the entire hotel, and "oh, no, my towels weren't sparkling white!" Uh, clearly the lot of these reviewers have never stayed in a hotel where the going rate was less than a grand a night, but for a nice, clean hotel with amazing staff, you can't beat this place. STAY CLEAR.....VERY BAD PEOPLE! Terrible experience. Horrible management. A very unethical or incompetent manager in Joseph Okonski & terrible ownership (Nick Patel). My wife and I called two hours after we left hotel & asked the manager Joe to secure a pair of pants. He told us he would get them right away & claimed he had them. We sent the manager Joe an overnight to the hotel with a return overnight and we received back a bogus pair of pants a week later. What took so long Joe? Joe claims someone replaced the original pair with a "fake" pair. He told me he would review the camera work & never called back. He claimed they would compensate me & never called or did follow through. I spent $30 on overnights & was not compensated. I called the owner(Nick Patel) to complain & he hung up on me (what a way to run a business). I filed a report with the Choice hotel franchise headquarters & they turned the other way. This was THE WORST hotel my wife and I have ever stayed at. We arrived early on a Sunday morning. They charged 170.00 for a king room in which the heat was almost nonexistent, the shower head leaked in every direction and especially on the unprotected wall where the paint was bubbled and peeling. Disappointed. The website was a bit misleading. We arrived 2 hours after check-in and the room wasn't ready. We were told the housekeeping for that room just quit. The hotel itself was unclean....not vacuumed and just gave us a bad unclean feeling. Our room didn't have towels and we were told they were still in laundry. The free breakfast wasn't organized and the orange juice dispenser, gave out water. When I asked if more food items were coming out, they said they ran out. I just spent the weekend at this place. This facility is absolutely disgusting and the staff, both housekeeping and management are unbothered by their poor customer service. The issues we experienced were reported immediate upon arrival. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. It was our impression that maybe they were rushing and overall forgot to clean the bathroom as evidenced by: Multiple strands of Pubic hair on floors, toilet, towels, counter top and tub. The toilet inside had dried up poop around the bowl. The toilet seat had dried up blood on the toilet seat and top of toilet tank, the back of the toilet where the seat clips had a puddle of yellow urine. The bathroom floor was atrocious. The mirror both in the bathroom and in the bedroom look like they haven't been wiped down in years. The light switch had caked on dirt and there was no ventilation in the bathroom. We were in room 108, had two Queen beds... the head board on one of the two beds had spots all over and honestly I don't even want to begin to imagine what that even is. The bedside table had some dried up something on it. The whole experience was overall awful. We called and asked for the bathroom to be cleaned. We were pretty nice and understanding about it. They did send someone over. We pointed out the issues in the bathroom. He was in there for a bit and once he finished, we left the room. Upon our return, it seems like the only thing he cleaned was the floor. The toilet still had poop and blood stains, pee and pubic hair. We called again, and they arrived the next day. They did a better job this time but blood was still present and towels and floor were not replaced. We stopped complaining at this point and asked for the manager who was scheduled at 11pm. Now I won't get into details about Jessica, the manager because that's my cousin's story to tell but I will say that her response and lack of caring is part of the reason her staff can give two craps about the customer's experience. Save yourself a headache and avoid this place. Don't let the pool entice you cause that too is pretty gross looking. read more

Stayed here for three days we payed more to get room with two beds we checked in tv did not work so they moved us to another room but only had one bed floor was dirty even had a fake fingernail on it also microwave was so nasty couldnt use no one ever cleaned the room our stay even tho we asked very disappointed in this comfort inn we travel alot and stay at others but this one must be ran poorly we where told they would take money off our room because we paid more but never did i would strongly suggest not staying there we left after 3 days went to other hotel in area was alot cleaner read more

The hotel is outdated, repeatedly upon multiple stays, I have had a dirty room. I woke up with a spider crawling on me in the middle of the night during my most recent stay. The bathroom is not stocked with necessary toiletries and overall cleaning is unsatisfactory, often with debris on the floor and in the shower. It is not a hospitable or comfortable environment, even for a brief one night stay. I will be staying elsewhere from here on out. read more

Worst experience ever!! I really would like to give NO stars. wanted a nice weekend with my husband, DIDN'T happen... the room was dirty, the jacuzzi tub didn't work correctly, the TV channels that are advertised aren't available AND the TV lost service at midnight, The couch in the room was DISGUSTING, The extra sheet and blanket in the closet were dirty. When I called the front desk they either didn't answer or hung up on us. Both of our phones got hacked. Also, we were booked in the Jacuzzi room, shouldn't they give you more than 2 towels??
