While dated, it shows that this property is being well maintained. We had an entire living room, fire place, outdoor balcony overlooking the lake and the beautiful heart shaped jacuzzi. I could tell they took their time to clean and thought about the layout, ambiance and activities to do within the property - there was a lot of outdoor activities such as archery, tennis, pickleball and kayaking when the weather warms up. I normally feel icky anywhere outside of my house but oddly enough, I felt very at home and comfortable here. What a romantic and cute spot.

Because he had something in his throat and chest. He had to drink water and a ginger ale soda to clear out what was going on in his chest. He had seafood soup and We think the soup was old. They had the same menu all week. And the food made him sick. Then the next day I got sick. The food wasn't fresh at all. What crazy it was only 17 couple at the resort. When we came home my husband had the flu and was admitted in the hospital and I had a cold. I couldn't go to work. The room was nice but the door had a big under it. I had to put a towel behind the bottom of the door so the cold air won't come in our room. They need to put more drains in the bathroom floor. Because when we took our shower the water was all over the floor. We had to use the towels that we had to mop up the water. They only gave us two bath towels, two face clothes and one bath floor towel. No pool and No Jacuzzi towels. What do they think when you get in and out the pool and the jacuzzi. How would you dry yourself off??? So me and my husband went to spooners and picked up some towels from the pool area. Everything was in walking distance. But it was so cold that we jump in the car to drive every where. The gift shop has a little of everything. When booking a room you have an option of just the room with breakfast or dinner. Or just the room and eat of the resort. They have on restaurant on the resort put its bar food like pizza, wings, burgers, nachos and tater tots. They have two bowling lanes, two pool tables, and other games, to play and also miniature golf. They have couples games that you can play and win a necklace trophy. The grounds are lovely all year around. A great place to relax. They have live music every night. Some of the rooms and different areas need up grades. Please be mindful of the food that you are serving the guest. One thing that I did forget that was very gross. Was the manager came out of nowhere with no gloves? No sanitize. Ask on his hands to stir the food for please. After that no one wanted any food. They probably had a lot of food left over. Then that wasn't all he did when it was dinner time.He was helping serve in the dinner cause it was a little busy. He touched somebody's ribs on their plate. The manager shouldn't touched the food. No gloves or nothing on his hands. He might have been doing this for a while. And no one paid attention. But he needs to stop because people can get people can get sick.

I stayed in the Concierge King room with a pool view, and the whole vibe was amazing. Outside by the pool it really gives spa-like relaxation vibes. Everyone was just chilling, relaxing in the sun, and sipping drinks. If you're looking for a place where you can unwind, hang out in the pool, and just enjoy a peaceful atmosphere, this is definitely a great spot, especially if you prefer a more modern, upscale feel rather than the traditional Poconos resorts. My only complaint was the food. They do have a restaurant on-site, but the food was just average in my opinion. Nothing terrible, but nothing that really stood out either. That being said, the overall look, atmosphere, and experience of the property definitely outweigh the food, and you can always head somewhere nearby for a better meal. Overall, it's a great place for a relaxing getaway with a modern vibe.

(Yeah, somebody should probably make a separate Yelp listing for the golf course versus roping it…read morein with the rest of the place but, whatever) Ok, it's been a few weeks since playing here and the details are quite fuzzy, but here's a few points: First, every course should have something like the below on their website. It's a must read before playing here. Every hole fully broken down by yardage/tee box locations/hazards/distances to the green from hazards & landing areas, etc. You're flying blind & insane to not look at it before playing. mountairycasino.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Golf_Course_Tour_R1.pdf The best way I can describe this course would be to say that every hole has something going on and you, IMHO, cannot DeChambeau it here by just gripping/ripping and seeing what'll happen next. Let me help in advance that what'll happen next is usually going to involve something with your ball being lost in sand/water/trees and a high ass score. Yes, every hole has some combination of extra narrow fairway, lined with trees, water, multiple traps, water & traps, healthy elevation up or down, blind dog leg, etc. Even the "easy" ones, have a twist that's not in your favor. I'm not saying this place is impossible, but it does require thought/strategy and if you have it (I know I don't) some ability to be a measured shot maker. Unlike your garden-variety municipal course where the holes just go back and forth and a hook or a slice turns into simply playing out of the next fairway, here, if you're not straight or in the fairway consistently, usually you're screwed. The three signature holes to me would be #17, #13 and #14. #17 is a short par 3 where you hit from an exaggeratedly high tee location and the entire main resort/casino building is below/in front of you. #13 is a par 5 that's about 480 but you got trees to the right and left off the tee and around 250 yards out there is a large patch of waste land and then water you need to either lay up in front of or try to bomb it over to get to the other half of the fairway. #14 is my favorite because you tee it up right next to their sewage treatment plant. Nothing says ambiance better than a big fat nose full of summer steamer when you're waiting for people in front of you. Pace of play was so-so. They have signage and all sorts of crap out there about it, but no one is enforcing anything. We played on an early weekday afternoon and had no one in front of us until #13. Two hours to play 1-12 and two more hours to play 13-18. That's BS. The only real negative is that they push their middle of the round food/drink stop a bit too timeshare hard. Each of the three staff members we encountered "reminded" us about it and they have a large sign after #8 re-reminding you that you can call your order in to pick it up after #9. If you're so inclined: mountairycasino.com/golf/club-house/ In the end, I don't remember what we paid but it was some cheaper Golfnow rate in the low $40's that all things considered, is hard to argue with. I enjoyed it playing here but for whatever reason, it wasn't my favorite and I probably won't be in a hurry to come back. (3.5 rounding up)

The food options were great and the property was easy to navigate. The property reminded me of a well maintained Vegas property. I will definitely be staying at this property again when I'm in the area. The only negative was the smoke smell as you walked through the casino. Smoking is acceptable, so it's something that I just had to deal with. Thank you, Mount Airy Team, for such a pleasant experience.

The owners Mark and Carol were more than accommodating, and they made us feel very welcome during our weekend getaway. The room was spotless and super cozy. We honestly got the best sleep ever as the beds were super comfortable. The included satellite TV service was a nice touch, as we were able to watch some good shows while unwinding from our day. The included breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Everything was super fresh and it screamed top quality ingredients. I had gotten the special with truffle and asparagus with home fries and it was VERY good. My lady had scrambled eggs with sausage patties, blueberry pancakes, home fries toast and she loved it as well. That same night we had dinner in the restaurant named Butter, and it was such a treat. The menu is extensive enough to have a variety of options without being overbearing. Dinner was just as amazing as breakfast, and EVERYTHING we had was top tier. We got a Tokyo Mule, the Sidecar, The Margarita Flatbread, the Lobster Campanelle, the Horseradish Crusted Salmon, a Nutty Irish dessert cocktail and an Espresso Martini alongside a dessert (I can't remember which one we shared). We devoured absolutely everything we had. Portions were generous and the flavors were out of this world. Customer service on the restaurant side was also very good. Do note that dinner isn't included in your stay, but I HIGHLY recommend trying the restaurant. Aside from all of the above, I can't overstate how good the customer service was here. Mark and Carol really made this place feel like a second home. The decor also gives that feeling, and it all culminates to being one of the best places I've ever stayed. Don't hesitate. Highly recommended!

Whether it was the thrilling rides or the relaxing wave pool, there was always something to keep the whole family entertained. One standout feature of our trip was the food. In previous resort experiences, we've often found ourselves disappointed by the dining options, but Kalahari shattered those expectations! The variety and quality of meals were truly exceptional. From quick snacks and Starbucks coffee, to gourmet meals at one of their multiple restaurants, every bite was delicious. It was refreshing to find such a diverse menu that pleased my wife, the kids, and me. We also appreciated the thoughtful layout of the resort. It was easy to find comfortable places to relax, and while it did take some hunting , we did manage to find a table each day. The array of jacuzzis was another bonus, with both family-friendly and 21-and-over options. Overall, our stay at Kalahari Resort Poconos was filled with fun and memorable moments. I'm still here at Kalahari Pocono Pines…read more Day-1 We arrived Monday morning at 10 AM. Check-in was fairly easy because there was virtually no one else here yet. When I passed the check-in 2-hours later... The line was very long and the same person was working. They definitely need more people there. I went to use the ladies room after checking in and it was extremely dirty. The cleaning cart was there with no attendant. Went to the indoor waterpark which opens at 10 AM because it's raining outside. The outside was closed. It's the usual indoor waterpark nothing special. The Jacuzzi. Where can I begin? It is an indoor outdoor Jacuzzi. Meaning, you can go straight from the inside through a passageway into the outside. On the inside section.... Only 3-lame-jets were working. PACKED With kids. Outdoor section NONE of the jets were on. I asked the "lifeguard" why the Jets were not on. He said do you want them on? I asked him if he knew the difference between a Jacuzzi and a pool of hot water. He said he would turn them on ... he never did. I cannot emphasize enough, how many children were in there. From a few months old to pre-teens. Horsing around.... I scooped this one girl up that was about to drown 4-years old. She was allegedly being watched by her 12-year-old sister. Her mother was so grateful. Why is the mother not watching her own 4-year-old? I am appalled by this Jacuzzi experience. Hey Kalahari.. Do you think you can have something just for adults? Do the kids not have enough activities to enjoy? No? Do you know how "unhealthy" A Jacuzzi is for children? They have these rules for the kids in the Jacuzzi. Nobody is adhering to those rules, not even the lifeguards. What lifeguard? Jacuzzis are for adults!!!!!!!! We had the buffet for breakfast. We arrived at 11 AM. They close at 12 noon. It was $30 for adults. And $20 for kids under 12. By the time we got there It was slim Pickens. You should not charge me the same amount as everybody else who got more variety before me. Was not impressed with the buffet at all. On the upside. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Except of course, for the lifeguard who doesn't know the difference between a Jacuzzi and a tub full of hot water. And most importantly, is not adhering to the rules setforth for children in the Jacuzzi. I saved a kid from drowning today.... He should be fired. We will be checking out tomorrow at the prescribed 11 AM. I will add to this review at that time.
