We booked a duplex cottage with one queen bed at Woodfield Manor for a weekend getaway in the Poconos, and it was a great choice. Booking online was easy, and check-in was simple--we just stopped by Frogtown Chophouse to pick up our keys and finished the paperwork the next morning. Our cottage was clean, in good repair, and surprisingly quiet given that the restaurant is on the property. The space is set up well for a couple or small family: a bedroom with a queen bed, a living room with a queen sleeper sofa, a small kitchenette (fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker), and even a propane fireplace that was perfect for chilly September evenings. While the fixtures and linens were a little dated, everything was tidy and comfortable, and the unit could easily sleep four. The only real downside was the low water pressure in the shower--not ideal, but not a deal-breaker either. At just over $500 for two nights, we felt it was a fair investment for the experience. The on-site restaurant, Frogtown Chophouse, is highly rated, and we enjoyed stopping in for cocktails one evening. The bartender gave us excellent local recommendations that added to our trip. All in all, Woodfield Manor offered exactly what we were looking for: a quiet, comfortable, and relaxing home base in the Poconos. read more

Autumn is my favorite time of year and I was looking to spend time admiring the fall foliage. I absolutely made the right choice to book here. We arrived Friday afternoon (October 11 2024) and stayed for three nights. This place is a little slice of heaven tucked away in the Pocono Mountains. When we arrived to check in, Chuck was there to greet us. He is a wonderful, welcoming gentleman. He gave us literature about things to do and happily answered our questions. Our room with its queen sized bed and adjoining sitting area was clean and comfy. We appreciated the small refrigerator and microwave to store and warm up our late night snacks. One tv in each room made it easy for one of us to nap and the other to "veg" out, if we wanted to! It's true the front desk is not manned twenty four hours, but you are given a number to contact in case of an emergency. And the guests are asked to observe quiet time between 10pm and 8am. This worked for us. I didn't miss the hundred room hotel with potential all night parties next door. After a day full of fun Fall festivities...quiet, peaceful and cozy is just what we needed. We are certain to visit again, perhaps in the spring or summer season. But definitely, most definitely again with the changing of the leaves. read more

Five years in counting, we have made the Woodfield Manor our annual family tradition to stay the week of Columbus Day, to immerse ourselves in the changing fall foliage, and to just enjoy the grounds on this beautiful property! We consistently stay in Cabins #31 & #32 at the very end of the property, to allow my 3 year old son to run and explore without being a disturbance to other occupants. These cottages are equipped with everything you'd need for a long weekend getaway, and the master bedroom allows for a generous footprint for us to install the pack and play my son slept in. Microwave, mini fridge, toaster, standing shower, electric fireplace, queen sized bed, and much more make up these cottages, and feel like home away from home. Check-in is now later - 4PM, where as past years it was 3PM, so you need to plan accordingly if you want to get the most out of your first day. Check-out is by 10AM, which is easy to do with a toddler, but others might find that too early. You can always ask to have these times accommodated for your stay. The staff is always easily accessible by mobile phone, so you're never left feeling un-catered to. This place is in an amazing location to everything you'd be looking for in a visit to the Poconos - close to Mount Airy Casino, the Outlets, Pocono Village shops, and great eateries! Most places require you to eat indoors or they open later, so be sure to call or check google to plan for your family. The only bummer was it was a soaker of a weekend this year, but even in the rain, the grounds are gorgeous! read more

My wife and I stayed at Woodfield Manor for two nights in August 2023. We had a pleasant stay at the hotel but might not return for a future trip if we found ourselves in the Poconos area again. Here are my thoughts on the pluses and minuses of this accommodation: Pros: 1. Generally quiet. Unlike cavernous hotels where one can be bothered by the noise of elevators or the ice machine or doors in the hallway opening and closing at all times of the day, that's not the case here. The place is far from most hustle and bustle and the way the rooms are spaced out, noise levels are fairly low. 2. The rooms, while old, were clean and included some useful amenities like a small fridge as well as a microwave. 3. Parking: Parking was super-convenient right next to the suite itself where we stayed at. Therefore, loading our luggage in and out of the car was a breeze. Cons: 1. The size of the bed. The room where we stayed in did not have a king bed. (As another reviewer notes, it didn't even feel like a queen; it felt smaller.) Accordingly, if we were to come back for a subsequent trip with our daughter, this place would surely not work for us. 2. Lack of a restaurant: Let alone free breakfast, there is no restaurant attached to the hotel that's open throughout the day. The restaurant on the property - Frogtown Chophouse - where we ate on our first night is open only for dinner from 5:00 p.m. onwards. Therefore, if one wants breakfast as they start off their day, one has to look elsewhere and virtually all places we considered (and ate at) were at least 8-10 minutes away BY CAR. 3. Service: There isn't a front desk staff present throughout during all times of the day. Therefore, if one realizes that they are missing a toothpaste at night before heading to bed, one is out of luck because the front desk closes at 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 p.m. on weekends. I might also note that when making my reservations over the phone with the hotel directly, I had mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary. It would have been nice to see some recognition of that fact, whether it was something as simple as a card left in the room or mentioning it as we were checking in, but there was no recognition whatsoever. All in all, therefore, I would rate this accommodation as meeting the basics in most respects but not all (e.g. the lack of a restaurant), it certainly isn't a luxurious accommodation. read more

If you are looking for a simple vacation spot to relax and unwind, Woodfield Manor fits the bill. They offer a few cabins to stay in. I was in a two room plus bath cabin which featured a bedroom, bathroom, and the main room with a pull-out couch and small kitchen. Both rooms have TVs which was nice. There is an outdoor pool near the main office, neither of which is far from any cabin. Never fear, to get out of the sun or other elements there is a screened gazebo where you can settle in with a book or whatever else you bring with you. There is wifi throughout the area and a restaurant attached to the office. They provide you with all the information you could want on local attractions and the office was always very helpful. You can find other restaurants, breweries, casinos, movie theaters. and wineries within drivable distance. read more

TAKE YOUR EARPLUGS!!! Our plan was to get away from the bustling noise of the city. What we did not realize was that most of the rooms are located right on top of the restaurant/bar. You can hear every noise - down to the intimate detail of half-drunk midnight conversations So, forget about the bar closing at 10 or 11 p.m. - people stay talking until 1 a.m. (or whenever)! Unless you plan on joining in the conversation you are in for a long sleepless night. After complaining about the noise, we were moved to another room for the following night. This was great, but we felt cheated to have been put in a tiny room above the bar to begin with. The staff - both at the hotel and restaurant - are REALLY nice and accommodating, but overall this would not be a reason enough to go back. If you insist on staying there, make sure to ask for a cabin, or room 21 or 23. read more

From the moment we booked, Woodfield Manor made our stay as comfortable and friendly as possible. First, when I left them a message that we would be arriving late the night before Thanksgiving, they called me several times until they reached me to let me know that it was no problem and that they left a key for me. When we arrived (cold, tired and late!) the cottage was already warm, clean and comfy with nice furniture and a great gas fireplace. Our 1.5 y.o. loved the cottage and the grounds and didn't want to stop exploring! We forgot her favorite pillow on the last day and they went above and beyond searching for it, even mailing it to us when it was found so our daughter wouldn't have to go without. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I am ever in the area. This is how hotels/resorts should be run. read more

Great value! We really enjoyed our stay. The room was sparkling clean and the staff are really lovely. We ate at the restaurant the first night and we were not disappointed. Delicious! Melt in your mouth steak! The room fridge came in handy so we could save the large portion. Just a delightful visit. My future ex-girlfriend and I went here solely based on it being the cheapest in the area. We weren't expecting much,seeing that we paid so little compared to Mt Airy rooms or other rooms near by. Once we got there, were pleasantly surprised. We were in the room above the restaurant (not the cottages), and the room was AMAZING. There was a king sized bed, and a 2nd room with couch and a table, and 2nd TV. Fridge, toaster, coffee maker, microwave. The bathroom looked newly renovated and was truly spotless. We went out for the night, but I can imagine the restaurant noise can be a annoyance if you plan ongoing to sleep at 9pm. We didn't see the cottages but we'll be going back this summer. Mount Airy Casino was about 2 miles away. The outlets were close too, about 10 minutes. (Not a good thing when traveling with your girlfriend.). I am pretty sure there are other things to do (skiing, camping, boating), but we went to gamble so I am not sure about that. Management was so friendly. From check-in to check-out this has been one of our best experiences. read more

While the room was on the small side, the kindness of the management (Keith) easily made it feel cozy. Unfortunately we did not eat at the Chophouse, but we did have a couple of drinks at the bar one night. Again great service and friendly. We had an appetizer and drink which were very good. Woodfield is close to everything we wanted to do. We hit Camelback snowtubing, Crossing outlets and horseback riding. Thanks to Keith for making us feel welcomed. read more

Stayed here to get away from the noise of a convention I was working at the Kalahari Resort. It was the perfect antidote. Out of the way, classy, quiet and private. The room was immaculate. Just be aware this is not a chain, so each room and cabin is a little uniquely shaped and laid out. There may be quirks in hallways and stairs. I like that, but others may not expect it. I only wish I'd have had time to sample the connected restaurant. read more

My husband and I stayed here overnight to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin we stayed in was clean and lovely. The pool was beautiful as were the grounds. We ate at the on-site restaurant. The two are separate businesses, but both were amazing. I took a quick ride to Dunkin' for some morning coffee and breakfast. The room was equipped with a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. We stayed there on vacation June 30 to July 6, we usally do the beach but wanted to try this out. WOW what a great vacation, Teresa , her staff and her family are amazing people, the place is very well kept after and everyone was so friendly. We even made some new friends there while they were on vacation. The chophouse is a great friendly place to eat with really good food and a nice staff as well, what a relaxing place to stay, this is where we will probably be spending the next few 4th of July's. read more

We decided at the last minute to get away for a few days over New Years and booked a cute little cabin through Woodfield Manor. The staff was so accommodating when we were late for check in. The outside of the cabin was so adorable with a cute wreath and Christmas lights. They provided a complimentary bottle of champagne for New Years Eve which was such a nice touch! We had New Years Eve dinner one site at the restaurant and hung out at the bar to see the ball drop. Again the staff was so friendly and welcoming. It was a nice small town intimate New Years Eve celebration. Champagne toast at midnight followed by a firework display on property! Such wonderful small touches! We were so impressed. We are planning on returning and making our stay a New Years Eve tradition! read more

My husband and I spent a night here on a road trip this past week. The setting is lovely. The rooms in the main lodge are adequate. What made it stand out was the treatment we received. They seemed truly glad to have us as guests. We were greeted so warmly when we checked in. Checkout is at 10:00 but were told an extra hour would not be a problem. That night I had to take my husband to the emergency room at the nearby hospital. I came back to our room at 6:00 AM and notified the front desk that I would need the extra hour. The general manager assured me I could stay as long as I needed that day and there would be no additional charge. My husband was released later that afternoon. Although we really liked the manor and the very friendly staff, I would not recommend staying the the main building. The restaurant below is very popular in the weekends and from about 10pm to midnight the staff is cleaning up and moving furniture (or at least that is what it sounds like) well into the night. It's super loud and makes for a frustrating night. We would only go back if one of the cottages was available for our stay. read more

My boyfriend picked this place out for a Christmas present for us. We had to reschedule due to our first appointment to go was during the really bad snow storm in January and they gave us no issues rescheduling. We visited in late march the night before Easter and I wasn't expecting much honestly but this place is so perfect! We stayed in one of the single dwelling cottages and loved it! Very cozy and intimate, then had dinner at the Frogtown Chophouse located in the Manor and that was impeccable! Visited the fireplace for a bit in the picnic area and then retired to our cottage!
