This Comfort Inn is conveniently located right off the I-87 exit. It's an unusually shaped building, sharing space with a Perkins restaurant and a brewery. My room was large, and the bed was comfortable. It was both reasonably dark and quiet, though I could occasionally hear a sounds from occupants in nearby rooms, and also trucks on I-87, as my room overlooked the back of the hotel and faced the interstate. My check-in experience was not up to standard. When I got to the desk, a young woman walked in from an entryway behind their side of the front desk, smiled, and then immediately walked away. Seconds later, a much younger blonde gentleman came in to check me in. What was unusual about it was that all he did was take my name and then hand me my keys. He did not ask to see my ID or credit card, which might be viewed as a security/validation concern. Also, when he handed my the keys in their holder, he did not write the room number on the card, and I had to ask for the room number twice. (That also makes it tougher for checking out if you don't remember to tell whoever is at the desk your room number as you drop off the keys). This guy also couldn't bother to provide me any information verbally, such as welcoming me based on my Choice Privileges status, breakfast hours, pool or gym information, etc.. It really felt like he didn't want to be there and didn't want to do more than the absolute minimum. Elevators are minimal in this hotel. Breakfast hours were printed on my card holder, luckily. The breakfast area was large, clean, and pretty well supplied. It included two waffle stations, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, hot sausage patties, and these individual flattened eggs with a yellow center dusted with pepper. If you want something a little more elaborate, you can of course go down a ramp to the Perkins restaurant, though you'll be paying for that breakfast. Nothing here was a deal-breaker in terms of my experience here, and I'd certainly stay here again. read more

Great little weekend getaway during winter break. Yes it's not perfect the rooms are nothing special bed is comfortable. Hotel staff very friendly and we were even able to check in 2 hours early! The pool hours on weekdays is a bummer 4pm they open and my 6 year old just wants to swim. Arcade hours are a little better at 11:30am open. Wish the Plattsburgh Brewing Co was also open earlier so we could just get a quick app to kill some time instead of heading out. But lots of places around for food and shopping! read more

The renovation gives it a nice modern look. We booked an accessible room. The room was large but not what would be considered accessible. The bathroom was approx. 5'x7'. The door would hit anyone standing at the sink. Not wheelchair friendly and lighting was nill. The bed looked nice but we found to be very firm. It does have a wine fridge and microwave in the room. Navigating the hotel halls can be an adventure as the signage is misleading and not all rooms are in numerical order. The Champs Gaming was ok, we had issues with machines not working but the staff was great about crediting back quickly. The on site bar was a let down the bartender though nice was inattentive and seemed to lack standard drink knowledge. Also they did not have, Jack, Knob Creek, Makers, Crown and several other spirits that I find to be generally common. The bartender just said they were out so either someone's really bad at doing their liquor order seeing these come by the case, or.... There were no empty spots visible for additional bottles to go. Gym was very nice, however, the saunas are in each respective locker room so if you're looking to relax with someone special unless they are the same sex it's not a possibility. Some pictures of the property showed a regular pool & hot tub, neither are actually at this property. There is only the mini waterpark, which looks cool but opens at 4 and closes at 9, in between loaded with kids. Perkins Restaurant is onsite, I found the food to be "eh", IMO IHOP does a better in taste & selection. The property inside as said has had a major facelift and is very well maintained even with loads of young children. Parking is decent, though more salt could be used when ice is present. The continental breakfast is pretty basic. Nothing over the top. Simple grab and go. Overall ok but probably won't be returning. Definitely good easy get-away if you have young children. read more

When I called to inquire, Kevin, I'm assuming the manager, was an arrogant jerk. I would NOT recommend staying here based upon his lack of professionalism and disrespect. This one interaction with Comfort Suites will ensure that my family never stays at one of their hotels in the future. No customer service and total distaste for the entire chain. For the rate of $200/night I would expect better. While the room was decent it was small and crowded and did not feel clean. The bathroom door wouldn't shut and the closet doors took a ton of muscle to pull open. We also did not have a suitcase stand to put our bag on. Not a big deal, but I would prefer to not put it on the floor. The pool area was not very clean. They have one bathroom and four changing stalls. Not a single changing table though!! I had to stand my 1 year old on the counter to try and get a swim diaper on and it was very difficult. The water was not very warm at all. I guess I was expecting and indoor pool hotel To be heated. My toddler didnt mind but myself and the baby were shivering. The lifeguards were also just sitting on their phones and not paying any attention to us. We were the only ones in the pool area though. Maybe I am over protective but it gave me anxiety not knowing where he was in the multi level climbing structure. The room was beautiful and clean. The clerk at the desk couldn't have been more helpful, she was awesome. However, I booked the room for my sister and grandsons who were visiting. We planned for their 7 cousins to meet there and use the pool area. A total of 9 kids. Two 3 yr olds, three 7 yr olds, and four 11 yr olds. I was told we could check in at 4:00pm. We all arrived. We paid/ used gift passes for the 5 extra kids. The room was $169. 4 kids were included in the price. Plus $60 for the 5 extra passes. Exactly at 4:00pm they closed the pool for maintenance until 6:00 pm. This meant that we had to find something to do with 9 kids! The only thing we could do as they live all 30 miles away, we took them to the arcade. Of course we ended up spending plenty of money on each kid to play in the arcade for 2 hours. Once we could use the pool area, we were told we had to use the kiddie pool only as the big slide area was closed. Fortunately the kids were so happy to be together, they didn't mind. I did! I paid $169+ for 9 kids to play in 6 inches of water!!! There were 9 kids and 10 adults waiting in a two bed room. The pool area was DISGUSTING! There were random pieces of swimsuits, dirty towels and papers surrounding pool area. The pool water was extremely murky... not crystal clear like it should have been. The 2 life guards were sitting at edge of the pool's deeper end, playing on their cell phones even though no kids were allowed over there. At one point, there were 28 kids playing in the kiddie part. I went to use the pool's restroom and it was a total disaster! It was worse than Walmart's restroom on Black Friday. Literally, the garbage pail was heaping. I counted 6 dirty baby swim diapers scattered all over the floor. Someone had used the toilet and had not flushed. Paper towels were on the floor and on the sink. IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE!!! One of the changing rooms had 5 used wet towels on the floor! My niece went to complain at the front desk and was told there was nothing she could do , and the manager was busy. I was trying to keep everyone happy and taken care of, I didn't have time to track down the manager. Everyone left after trying to swim for an hour, everyone took their kids to the room to change and go home. When my sister and her grandsons got up, she took them back to the pool. The water was still very cloudy. The slides were open and they did get to use them. My sister went to use the restroom, and NO ONE HAD CLEANED IT!!! IT WAS JUST AS DIRTY AS THE NIGHT BEFORE!!!!! The clothing articles were still on chairs and little tables all over the pool, papers were scattered al around the pool! We will NEVER go back again. We are still in a pandemic. You would think the hotel's number one priority is to keep it clean! Don't waste your money. There are a lot of other nice, clean, cheaper hotels in Plattsburgh NY. Room was pretty gross. After checking in, we requested a quick vaccuum and mop (the carpet had stuff all over it, the tile floors were sticky). They hesitated but eventually sent someone with the vaccuum. They never cleaned the floors. The bathroom door was misaligned, so it wouldn't even close let alone lock. When I notified the front desk, they receptionist was basically like "there's no handyman this week, so nothing I can do." No apologies, no offers to ameliorate, etc... Awful place. Pretty great complex for a family on the road. I didn't expect much but was astounded by the number of nearby activities and the overall service, at the front desk or at the complementary breakfast in the morning. The room was clean and odor free. I didn't get to try the waterpark or the pool, but will definitely be back at the arcade in the same building. I would have wished for a bigger TV (or one nearer to the bed) but that was probably only the configuration of this specific suite that didn't allow for it. read more

Checked in late on a Friday night and it only took a few minutes which was good. Room was comfortable and clean, although the cabinet that covers the mini fridge in the room needs to be updated, it was almost falling off of the hinge. The hotel has two attachments for places to eat as well as a fully functioning gym that guests can use. I was disappointed however when I woke up for breakfast in the morning and the whole hallway smelt very strongly of cigarettes. This is a smoke free hotel, but they do not seem to enforce this rule on their guests. Wasn't too happy about it. Their breakfast set up was typical for any hotel like the comfort inn. Nothing special. I would stay here again, beds were comfortable and clean and u like the 4 pillows! I could just do without the smoke smell, it really knocked a star off of their rating. read more

Traveled to Plattsburgh for the first time to attend a wedding. Was surprised to see the wedding block reserved at the Comfort Inn, and even came close to reserving a room elsewhere with "more reputable" names. I travel quite a bit for business, and typically avoid this chain. Was very happy I didn't! This hotel is amazing!!! Clean, new, and very cushy - the Comfort Inn in Plattsburgh is a traveler's dream lodging. The rooms were very spacious and well decorated, with a small kitchenette (sink, coffee maker, microwave, and fridge), flat screen tv and free wi-fi. Throw in a VERY cool small indoor water park, five-star gym (think New York Sports Club), and Legends Sport Bar off the lobby, and your really can't ask for more. But there is! It's located right on NY 3, and across from a 24 hour Walmart - so if you forget anything, you're covered. My guest and I had an amazing time here, loved the staff, the location, the accommodations and wish we could find more hotels like this in our travels. read more

Hot breakfast was good, typical (scramble eggs, waffles, sausage, bacon, cereal, muffins, yogurt, etc). Room are large and beds were comfy. The bedding was dirty. The ice bucket smelled and had something disgusting in it. There was mold on the bathroom wall. We complained and they changed the bedding and brought us a new ice bucket. Very disappointed in Room service. My wife and I drive 3 hours to visit family. They had been staying since Thursday. Saturday afternoon they ran out of toilet paper and Towels. We called the desk at 3pm and again at 7pm. No one showed up. As I was crawling into bed at 9pm there was a knock at the door. It was room service there to clean. I told the am to go away. We ended up taking toilet paper from a cart in the hall in the evening. Never got towels untill we went to the desk Sunday morning. The overall facility is great. This past weekend I stayed here for the second time ever. My first experience was okay, not really any complaints. Wasn't a huge fan but we managed to get a decent price so I decided to book again. However, this time around was not that great. The guy at the front counter was awesome. Very nice and helpful. But the room we were assigned to was not that great. As soon as we walked in there was an odor and the bed did not look like it was properly made. The sheets did not feel washed. Overall the room did not feel very clean. Granted, we did have our dog with us on this trip and I'm sure they assign certain rooms for pets. However I do feel like for the price being paid, the room should still feel as if it had just been cleaned. The following day there was no one in the room (we were all out including our dog) but no one came in for cleaning because "dog in room". Okay, I get that. But Sunday around 10am, staff started knocking on the door and even after I had answered that I was still in the room, they proceeded to enter & then closed the door when our dog ran to the door. Checkout is at 11am. Tv's still on, I respond to the knock to let them know I was still in the room, and even if they didn't hear that, our dog started barking once they knocked. They still entered. Why couldn't the same thing be done the day before to come in and clean the room? Yeah kinda weird. Anyways. I've been to all of the other hotels in this area. I'm a frequent visitor to the area and overall, I just dont feel as though this place is worth the price. The employees at the front desk are great! This is probably the most comfortable hotel in Plattsburgh and I am a regular visitor here. I have stayed in some rooms that have a suite style with a separate room with a kitchenette and sitting area. Some of the rooms are huge and all the beds are extra comfy. Note that part of this hotel is new built in 2009 after a major fire. I have stayed in both the older rooms which are ok but I always ask for a new room when I can. The great thing about this hotel is free use of the attached Eclipse gym which is huge and include free classes. There is an indoor water park for the kids, a bar for the grown ups and Perkins is attached. Hotel guests are given coupons for a free drink in the bar, and discounts for meals at Perkins and the bar. Also across the street is a pizza parlor and a Panera's. Breakfast is a free buffet where you can make your own Belgian waffle! Also, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Oh and I love the gas fireplace in the lobby. read more

I traveled to Plattsburgh for business. I was pleasantly surprised by the Comfort Inn. It is a clean, updated and recently remodeled hotel. There is a very nice restaurant attached as well as Perkin's for breakfast. As a guest you can use the facilities at a very nice gym that is also attached to the property. I did not use the indoor pool or the 'swim park' but if I had been traveling with children they would have had a ball on the slides. Finally, the staff is very very friendly. I asked someone where the ice machine was and instead of pointing down the hall says actually walked me to the machine! If you are looking for a hotel in Plattsburgh don't think twice. Ok, so this could have been better. First of all they advertise a medley of activity: waterpark, bowling, lazer tag, arcade, and glow-in-the-dark indoor miniature golf. We came up Spring Break expecting some fairly affordable hotel fun. The bowling and mini golf were under construction. The loss of these was not at all a responsibility the manager cared to own despite it being advertised. We were told when we arrived that the wristbands we were given would get us into the waterpark and the lazer tag. We actually thought of going somewhere else but were lead to believe this was the best gig in town. (It's not. Try Days Inn or some of the other hotel/motels. There are plenty). The waterpark was nice, 3 feet at its deepest, but lots of activities like slides, umbrellas, dumping buckets (half worked) but I'd avoid the tube slides if I were you. The incline is very steep so that little ones come rocketing out and bigger ones get bumped up at the end. If you're sitting up the tube is so narrow that most inevitably hit there heads. One young lady came out hysterical and bleeding from her forehead while we were there. Lazer tag was fun, but not free. Neither was the arcade or little ball park. $10 per kid per 2 hours will get you in there, but who's kids decides they're going to stay in one place for 2 hours. If that had been free (or at least included in the hotel price) it might have been a perk. But even there the lack of care is apparent. Slides are too fast for most little guys as they go flying beyond the end. My oldest got a nasty burn on one run. All in all the servers were friendly, and the rooms were clean. The eggs are awful, but the rest of the continental breakfast was ok. Next time, we're hitting the Days Inn however. They have a larger waterslide, pool and a Jacuzzi and from what I remember, a lot more care when it comes to treating customers personally with honor and respect. read more

This is just a review of the water park. It seems cute at first. After 5 minutes in there you realize you can't breathe because of the strong chlorine smell. I was nauseated for the whole day. Well, they're covering for something... The place is absolutely dirty. We were there in the morning, so you'd think it'll be freshly cleaned. I asked the front desk to please clean the bathroom, and after 2 hours it still wasn't done. The floors are slimey and dirty. Dirty towels everywhere, and no clean ones available. We booked this hotel only for one night, while traveling to Canada. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how great and clean this hotel is. It's a fairly new hotel or maybe they just had renovations done, whatever the case is it looks great. The decor of the hallways and rooms is very modern. Rooms were clean with great beds. Also, they provide you with two types of pillows, 2 firm and 2 soft, which you don't see often now a days. Each room had a microwave and a small refrigerator. The best part of our stay at this hotel was a mini indoor water park and an awesome arcade. Kids totally loved it. The hotel provides with continental breakfast, but you want to get there early, especially if the hotel is at a full capacity. It tends to get emptied out really quickly, and then you will have to wait until the fresh food is prepared. Friday morning we left and still never received towels or a cleaning. When I told the lady about it, It was dismissed. I recently stayed here with a friend who was having surgery at the nearby hospital. I have to say the staff were wonderful! The room was very comfortable and very clean! We had dinner at the attached brewpub. We even got discount tickets for dinner and a free drink. In order to lighten things up a little, we went to the arcade downstairs! This hotel has everything....excellent breakfast, the attached brewpub and Perkins restaurant. If you are traveling with children the indoor waterpark pool is perfect! I found the hotel to be nice, but the customer service is below par. This has been my experience on numerous occasions. I would not spend my money staying here because of the extreme rudeness. I have called to inquire about the water park and arcade center they advertise and have been hung up on and felt like this is completely inappropriate. A woman or girl named Raina was the most rude and hung up on me while I was still talking. I felt like calling back, but decided to take my business elsewhere. I am not a difficult person, just expect to be treated with the same respect I give to others. Bad review from me... First impression is the customer service and it's horrible. I recommend the microtel hotel nearby if you are looking for a decent price and great customer service. I stay there now, only problem here is if you have kids and want the pool that is only open from 4-9 at the comfort Inn,the microtel doesn't have a pool, but very efficient rooms. I was accorded very poor customer service, not to mention misleading and regarding cancelling a reservation five days in advance of the check in date. First, the cancellation policies were not in plain sight when the reservation was first made. I later found out that my payment was not refundable for very poor reasons. Second, the manager of this hotel never called me back after I left several messages with the receptionist over the span of a week. This is most unprofessional. Let me preface this by saying the staff is very friendly. However, I have been staying here for the past 4 weeks since I have been in Plattsburgh on business. When I first started coming up here it was not so bad, but slowly the quality of the city and this hotel has diminished. The first issue is that the rooms do not seem to be insulated at all; that or the heaters do not work. I have to keep my room at 80 degrees for it to be just warm enough to sleep. Mind you I am from Canada where it is regularly -20 degrees Celsius in the winter and I keep my house at 70. The next issue is the internet. Everyday I have issues connecting to the internet and at first I thought it may be my device. But when I have issues connecting with my apple iPad, Samsung s4 phone, HTC one work phone, and dell laptop I highly doubt that it is me. Every day after work I have to call down and have them reset the internet and even it takes at least 20 minutes for it to work. I have experienced slow internet due to the amount of people on it at other places but never had so many issue connecting on so many devices. The last issue is the reason why I am writing this review. There is days where there is no hot water. The first day it was barely warm enough to get through a shower but the second day it was ice cold and I had to go to work without taking a shower and bed head. When I spoke to the front desk they had told me that it was the part of the hotel I was staying in and that the hot water tank isn't big enough. I find these excuses unacceptable since if you build a hotel you expect hundreds of people to be staying there, so these issues should not arise ever. There are a lot of amenities nearby and a full functioning gym but not being able to take a shower in the morning or expected to take a cold shower when it is -16 degrees Celsius outside is not acceptable by my standards, nor are the excuses given by the hotel since you know it is a hotel; these issues should not exist. read more

We didn't know the small water park was open to the public and booked all the time for outside parties! Not fun whatsoever! Over populated fun areas. Not relaxing. We ended up switching hotels during our stay. read more
