I stayed in a 3rd floor suite on June 8-11, 2025 shortly after a major renovation of all the rooms. I have stayed in suites in this Microtel many times previously and been very satisfied. This time it was very unsatisfactory due to changes made during the renovation. I've never seen a renovation where the rooms were made WORSE. They had removed the coffee table, a small rectangular table with two chairs where I used to eat my dinner and conduct business, and also the end table next to the couch so there was nowhere to put my purse, backpack, books, etc. They had also removed the closet area and replaced it with a few "knobs" with hangers. They had also removed a long shelf in the bathroom where I used to put my toiletries, now forcing me to leave them at the side of the sink or on the floor. Also removed any towel rods in the bathroom, again replacing them with colored "knobs" that look like something out of an IKEA showroom. I inquired at the desk if the removal of the furniture was permanent, if the table and chairs and coffee table would be put back. The clerk was not sure and said there was some furniture "on order" that had not arrived yet. She said "we don't like it either" referring to the removal of so many features from the rooms. I will not be staying in this property again unless there is furniture in the room! There is no place to sit and eat and nowhere to put many of my belongings. read more

I was a snob at first thinking this hotel would be not so great. My husband read reviews of this property and other hotels in the area. This was rated one of the highest including big chain hotels usually 3+ stars or higher. I arrived, lots of parking and lights outside. The property is pretty new in the area. Lobby bright and clean. Front desk check in was easy and friendly enough. Elevator was quick, clean and bright. Hallway signs to Rooms were marked perfectly!! Hotel hallway very clean and quiet. Rooms are large, beds firm, furnished great. Only missing a coffee maker, it has refrigerator and microwave. Nice desk, lots of drawers and storage. Plenty of comfortable pillows. Heat and ac work great. Bathroom was nice, good size tub. Plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Good lighting throughout the room. Continental breakfast is good. Lots of choices. Coffee maker was great, needs a larger cup (my complaint). Morning front desk staff, very very pleasant and full of info. Will stay here again! read more

GET A LAWYER !!!! Do not believe the good reviews- staying at this place was the worst thing to ever happen to me. I stayed here as a layover while I was moving. They had an extreme termite/insect infestation on the carpets/floors. I was forced to stay in the hospital for months- that's right, MONTHS with the most violent bites that covered my body, the severity of which was unlike anyone had seen before. While I was there, the hotel staff had my car, along with all my worldly possessions towed and not only was I charged thousands of dollars they still disposed of my car and everything I owned inside. Hell on earth The staff/managers behavior the whole time was beyond abhorrent. They need to be criminally prosecuted. read more

Great value...got clean room We recently stayed at the Microtel as part of a small group. We were coming back from 1000 island and stayed here Comfortable beds, clean. Could use some upgrades. Hotel clerk very friendly and had some good pieces of advice. Hotel not too far from Watertown and less expensive, restaurant close by and a small shopping center Pros: low price, large rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff. Cons: dated rooms and stained carpets. For the price, the hotel is a very good value. read more

Great hotel for my stay in Plattsburgh. Even though the room was small, the cleaning was impeccable. Sheets, bed, pillows all very comfortable. Coffee in the morning didn't hurt either. Not much for breakfast, seems like just very few grab and go things but overall having coffee is a plus. Would stay again if I am on the area. read more

At the time my husband and I arrived they were doing renovations. This was a Friday evening. Upon entering the room we realized the fridge didn't work.....we told them and they brought us another one without an issue the following day because it was late so we didn't make a fuss about it. Unfortunately all night the neighbors above me proceeded to make enough noise to keep me awake. My husband had made an additional reservation with the hotel for the following day which was Saturday before we even headed out for our trip there. At 12:00 on Saturday after being awake from noise all night house keeping knocks on our door and tells us we're supposed to be checked out. This was shortly before I left for a memorial service and had to wait to discuss the situation with the hotel manager before I could leave. Not something I needed to do before going to this kind of event especially with not much sleep. When we arrived back Saturday afternoon the weather was getting pretty bad so again my husband booked another night. After that was straight we came back to the room and again there's a circus going on above us. I had to call them and tell them about the night before and I would need to move the room if it didn't stop. About 1/2 hour later the circus stopped. Good....i was able to sleep. Sunday rolls around......the front desk calls and asks us again when we were planning on leaving. I honestly never felt so welcome in my life what a joke. Again didn't know we had added another night. Then about a few hours later......the circus upstairs starts again so again I contact the front desk about it and they told me they would go stand next to the room above mine and listen to see if they could hear noise and then speak to them. I said why don't you just come down to my room and hear it for yourself? So 1/2 hour later the circus came to an end. I looked at my husband and said "as soon as the freaking snow stops we're outta here." They couldn't keep up with keeping the exits clean of snow as well. My husband had to shovel a path to our vehicle from the door we went out of.....even though they had someone working there to do it......he was nice enough to lend the shovel to my husband so we could get to our car from the side door where we were parked. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get to our car. Not really a great safety situation for their patrons. By the way.....my husband is over 60.....and the kid who gave him the shovel.......probably in his 20's. Now this could just happen to be my bad luck so you'll have to decide on your own if this may be something for you. But this definitely wasn't a pleasurable experience for the price. read more

Excellent hotel. First of all, the location is great. Close to everything but no road noise. The rooms are not large but that's the only downside. The place is super clean. We stayed there 2 years and and were impressed with how well everything was kept and how clean things were. We just stayed there 2 days ago and found it to be the same - very impressive during these COVID times. They are dedicated to making your stay safe and comfortable. Staff are dedicated to making our stay pleasant. Breakfast is good for a quick bite. Highly recommended. read more

The breakfast is all carbs and meager choices, the walls are paper thin and it's very pricey.

This place was very clean and well lit, as well as the rooms. There was a microwave and mini fridge in the room, decent cable and a small public business center in the lobby, washer and dryer facilities available, an area for recycling and a very nice continental breakfast. The only thing I didn't like was that the vending machines were way too over priced. read more

The rooms in this hotel are smaller than I'm used to but definitely worth the price. Rooms and bathrooms were cleaned to perfection each day. Even folded the toilet paper beautifully each day. It's the little things haha. The breakfast was just average. Cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, toast, oatmeal, grits, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, apples and bananas. Anyways Chelsea was probably the sweetest front desk clerk I've ever met. She went above and beyond in making our stay comfortable. Thank you Chelsea! read more

I stay at a lot of hotels, because I like to travel. This hotel is clean, friendly, cheap and in a great location. This is honestly one of the best hotels that I've been in. Starting with check in (and check out) the young ladies at the front desk are so incredibly nice and friendly, you'd really believe they LOVED being at work. I really don't see a lot of people who are genuinely nice and happy, it was a great experience. The Room: Clean, had a nice hair dryer, some nice soaps, and had a saving energy intuitive where you didn't need to get your towels or sheets washed. I love when companies do what they can for the environment. The bed was INCREDIBLY comfortable, I've never slept through the whole night in a hotel but I did in this one. There's also a neat little window seat you could use as a bed if you got a queen bed and had two people. They also had free Wifi that I didn't use, and a menu for the restaurant that was in waking distance. We got a smoking room, so it smelled a little. There's probably something they can do about it though, like air freshen it a bit cause it was pretty bad. but that's be my only complaint. I also didn't hear any noises like the other comment below me. Breakfast: So they serve FRESH coffee (and its really actually fresh!) till 11:00 at night (thus no need for coffee in your room, I mean its 3 stories...really? and if you NEED a coffee pot in your room they are offered in the suites for additional cost. but really? its fresh downstairs. All the time). The breakfast while I didn't eat it, looked more edible than most. It had bagels, toast, cereals. It looked extremely clean and the attendants (Idk what else to call them) were constantly whipping down the tables, and refilling the coffee. Amazing! read more

Perfect little inn. Stopped here on our way to NY from Quebec, was not disappointed. Everything was clean, staff is so nice and there was a window seat in our room!! Ah the perfect touch I've always wanted one! Breakfast was included, free wifi, microwave and fridge in the room and the beds were so comfy. Stayed here for a wedding and the staff was so nice and so personable. The room was very clean and everything, with the exception of the hot/cold label in the shower (which was full of lies!!), worked the way it was supposed to. Continental Breakfast had lots of choices and was still in full swing at almost 10am when bf and I dragged our lazy butts out of bed, bleary-eyed and grouchy, and slogged down to the lobby. Overall a good value. Not sure when/if we'll be in Plattsburgh next but if we are we'll happily stay here again. Oh and if you stay in room 221 remember: hot is cold and cold is hot ;) read more

We stayed here on a Friday night because the price was right. As the name suggests the room is Micro. Very small but got the job done. I was very surprised with how clean it was. The hallways were clean as was the room. The whole place had a fresh/clean smell. I wouldn't recommend it to families, as the room doesn't have a lot of room. pretty good. very friendly & super clean. looks brand new. so why only 3 stars? (now keep in mind that I am listening to old man jenkins talk very loudly about what his GPS told him to do and he got lost anyway while i am typing this at 6:45 am.) CONS: well, silence is not golden. if you are looking for real quiet you should try someplace else. i can clearly hear the conversation of the people in the room beside me as well as the freakish kid running amok above me since we arrived at 6 last night, (don't mommy and daddy want to sleep or do they take turns holding the leash?) no coffeemakers in rooms. no on-site gym. no pool?!?! (no wonder that freakish kid is running amok around the room!) PROS: CLEAN. beds are comfy and they quickly give you extra supplies like towels and blankets. parking lot is pothole free, (yes, i'm giving points for this since i've stayed in other plattsburgh hotels before.) ***free wi-fi. :) all in all a good place to stay if you don't care about quiet, (i do) or a pool, (i don't - unless there's a kid above me who could be expending his energies otherwise), or an on-site gym, (i most definitely do). if you are fortuante to get the room on the top floor in the corner, rejoice. next time i'll request that. read more

Had a wonderful weekend stay here during a 40th high school reunion. Chelsea was very accommodating (and patient) while classmates booked rooms & altered reservations a few times . Even though my room was off the busy lobby (a wedding party was also in the house), it was super quiet. The staff, with whom I interacted, were so friendly and helpful. I would recommend this motel for events or as a convenient stopover when traveling. read more
