The Comfort Inn is almost directly off of I-81 and is easy to find with a decent amount of parking. We chose the Comfort Inn as it was the best rated hotel in our price range. Check in was easy and straightforward. Lobby does have a small area to purchase snacks and beverages. When you use the elevator, be aware of the hotels odd room number system, as the lobby is located on what is the second floor of the hotel. Common areas of the hotel show some wear and tear. Our room for a double was a little small, but the beds were large and comfortable. Room didn't have a traditional closet but had a wardrobe closet for storage. TV was nicely sized and came with Direct TV. Room had a larger mini-fridge and microwave. Sink is located outside the bathroom. The shower's water pressure could have been better, but that's common at every hotel. Water remained hot the entire time and did not run low. One of the big issues with the room was the lack of electrical sockets, as most are already in use aside from the ones next to the bed. If you would have four people in the room, there would be issues charging everyone's phones, tablets, laptops, etc. The room in general feels a little dated but for the price it's acceptable. A very basic fitness center is located on the first floor. Breakfast is included with the room and is served in a space across from the lobby from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Selections were basic, and during our stay they had assorted beverages, cereal, eggs, bacon (a surprise), various baked items, and waffles. This is the prime example of a travel hotel. If you are staying here for a night or two during a trip it's perfectly fine. Anything more than that you might look for a different option. It could use updating in both the common areas and rooms, but at this price point you can't expect that.

I stay here about 6 times a year. No frills, but comfortable. Staff is SUPER nice and always helpful. I usually arrive late in the evening and they advised 2am was when the close down their books. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Beds and pillows are fresh and fluffy. Breakfast is provided but due to Covid, they usually provide a brown sack to go... and frozen breakfast sandwich's with juice, coffee or water. Not so great - but better than the other place in the area for similar price. I stayed at Super 8 just over the highway at the end of the road and Comfort Inn beats them HANDS DOWN.

The plumbing is running right down the wall behind the tv, and it has become a constant disturbance. Who thought of this design should have wrapped the pipes at least. If you are a light sleeper or don't want to hear toilets flushing and the plumbing noise from the floor above, I strongly recommend requesting a room on the top floor. My wife and I recently stayed at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Chambersburg while we were in the area for a funeral. We chose this hotel because of the Marriott name and the convenient location. One thing that I found strange was the pricing. I originally looked at a king room, but it was almost $50 more per night than the room with two queen beds. To me, that doesn't make much sense. A room with two beds can accommodate more people, especially since these suites also have a sofa/trundle bed. You could potentially have 3-5 people staying in that room, compared with a king room that would generally have fewer guests. Since breakfast is included, you'd think the room accommodating more people would cost more, not less. I realize hotel pricing is based on demand, but the difference still seemed backwards to me. The outside of the hotel could use a little attention and cleaning up. However, once you walk inside, it's a completely different story. The hotel was very clean, there were no unpleasant smells, and our room was exceptionally clean. I also really appreciated the little personal touch from housekeeping. There was a note from the person who cleaned our room, which I thought was very nice and showed some pride in their work. The location is very convenient, with plenty of shopping, fast-food restaurants and other dining options nearby. It's an easy place to stay when you're in Chambersburg and need everything close by. Overall, we had a good stay. The hotel is clean, the location is convenient, and housekeeping did a very nice job. But if you stay here, I would definitely request the top floor because the plumbing noise from the room above is loud enough to be a real disturbance.

Found a towel that , once unrolled, looked as if someone peed on it (no exaggerating). The shower overly grimy and didn't have any slip proofing. The tub filled up because the A. The drain must have been clogged and B. The faucet was pouring out water while the shower head was running. I always make a note to check the air conditioner filters and yet have one that wasn't filthy and needed cleaning, as I did with this one, and I mean I can't believe this thing could still take in air through it. Felt little bites on my leg once in a while but that could possibly be my mind playing tricks on me as the chance for bed bugs in a motel is ever increasing for various reasons and I think any sane individual would be a little paranoid about that in a motel. Half the lights didn't work. I will say that the beds were very comfortable although I was too worried to use the bedding after the towel issue and my BB paranoia. Oh and the fan didn't work in the bathroom either which is a danger for mold growth. Maintenance and housekeeping needs to become a priority for this place now and forthcoming.

At breakfast I inquired about the possibility of bed bugs. She claimed they had them twice in 5 years but none now but would have someone check. I called the hotel this morning. I believe it was the owner who answered. Said the manager handles the exterminator who is "state certified ", (made mention of this several times) and she would call me back. Crickets....meaning no call back. My anxiety is so high fearing I brought them home, not to mention I'm an ichy, blotchy mess. I'm shocked this national chain allows a franchisee to run a hotel with their branding in this condition. Manager actually confronted me for my review on the booking site. Had a million excuses for why this hotel is neglected, while some might be valid we are now three years post covid, it can't continue to be an excuse.

The carpet was dirty with stains everywhere. There was a strong urine/ammonia smell in the room that made my husband concerned about whether he could even stay the night. The room door kept coming open and there was a space under the door for bugs to get in. The bathroom was equipped with a shower stall instead of a full bath, but also it was the size of a phone booth inside, and the toilet seat was loose and the TV remote only worked intermittently. I did locate a small grassy area in a back alley where our dog could go and I bagged diligently. She was always on leash, never barked once, nor was she even near anyone. One would have to see me walking her in the alley to know that she even existed. My husband was out working with a colleague and needed more time. Though I'd already checked out to wait for him, he had me asked me to book another day. I was sitting outside with our dog and all our bags, in the heat, with a fracture boot on my right foot. I called the hotel from a bench outside the office. Unbelievably!!! Unbelievably, he yelled at me saying, "We don't want you because of your dog. We don't want you. Never come back!" He then hung up on me. They left us to sit on the street in the heat,, Ironically, refusing to let us stay in the awful room I couldn't wait to leave. Also, some very questionable looking clientele were roaming about. I'd give it 0 stars if I could. They aren't really pet friendly and the place stinks of ammonia/urine. I can't believe they carry the Wyndham name, very deceptive given the poor quality of their hotel and the abysmal behavior of their staff.
