We checked in relatively late at night for a one night stay. The front desk staff were friendly. The breakfast the following morning had a larger selection than I had anticipated and it drew in a decent crowd. I thought the room was fine and exactly what we needed for one night. I rented 2 rooms, one was for my adult granddaughter and one for my wife and I. First, I was happy with my room but wife noticed a cat pee smell. We later found a a/c leaking small amounts of water on carpet, causing smell. Not a real problem to me but smell was noticeable. My granddaughter room was made up nicely but there was food crumbs on nightstand and floor between beds. So obviously a germ wipe down and vacuum wasn't done. So now I'm wondering , was my room wiped down? I don't know for sure but I'm guessing no. Needless to say I docked the gratuity and left half of what I originally had laying down. Prior reviews we better than average and I was prepared to give a b grade but not now. Just got back home. My hisband took the Licensed Battle Guide Test.We stayed here from 12/3-12/9. All I can say, It was FABULOUS.The room was always made up and is very clean.Breakfast was always a nice begginning of the day.Big Bob was always a cheer to see him at the front desk.Always smilling. Very decent hotel. Nothing too exceptional by any means, but I also don't have any major complaints. I stayed here when I came to Gettysburg with a group, and it did the job. Solid price for a decent room. The rooms themselves are pretty well kept. I didn't have any problems with the TV, the beds, or the shower. All basic but still nice nonetheless. I could hear the noises from the gym at times, though. That was my main complaint. The breakfast is also solid and basic. Nice coffee, waffles, cereal and such. Nice to have a free breakfast, even if it's not the best. The lobby area is pretty nice too, with friendly employees. And, the location is pretty good too, close to a Dairy Queen and a Perkins. All in all, a pretty decent hotel. It wasn't special in any sense, but did the job for a reasonable price. read more

We've stayed at this hotel before and never had any problems, but this last time was a joke. When we first got to our room, someone had left their fake eyelashes on the air-conditioner, at first I thought it was a caterpillar. Plus the air conditioner was thick with dust. Housekeeping missed it? The rooms (and hotel in general) need upgrades badly. Felt like I had stepped back into the 1970's. There was tapping noise in the walls all night and day and kept us up at night. The breakfast was also a joke, there were ants on the counter, there was a sign that said "Don't put eggs in the microwave they'll explode" But there were no eggs, and when I asked the attendant if they had any, she said, "No, we don't have eggs." And I said, "But there is a sign out there that says you do." And she responded with, "Oh that's an old sign, we don't have eggs anymore." So they should probably remove that sign. The breakfast ends at 10 and it was maybe 5 or 10 minutes after 10, and I was still in the breakfast room finishing up my coffee (not even eating because there really wasn't anything to eat) and attendant came in and shut the door and turned the lights off on me. I mean if she wanted me out of there, she could have politely asked me, to just shut the door and turn the lights off to give me the hint it's time to go is just rude and cowardly. Two stars for the friendly people at the front desk and decent coffee in the lobby, but won't be staying here again. read more

During high weekend price coming to Gettysburg, I just don't want to spent too much of the place for sleep. I will probably going out all day so Days inn is a choice to save the cost. It is not far from Gettysburg battlefield even the place kind of you get what you pay. The complimentary breakfast is nothing not fancy or delicious food at all. I stayed for 2 days and because of Covid19 they won't have a housekeeper to clean my room. If I need an extra towel or toilet paper I have to go ask front desk for it. I have stayed at this location a few times. I think the last time I stayed here covid was a lot more serious so there was no free breakfast in the morning but this time there was! I had waffles and they were very good! They had a waffle batter dispenser that you pour into the waffle iron yourself and make your own waffles. Very simple to do! Every employee I've came across at this location has been very nice and this place is really clean. I have been to other Days Inns at other locations and they were super dirty and gross, not this one. This hotel is also greatly priced as well with a Dunkin Donuts next door and Walmart right down the street if you need anything during your stay. read more

Very poor. This place was nice, clean and low cost several years ago and we automatically booked it as we go to Gettysburg almost annually. Last year we said this place is going downhill fast. You guessed it - this year it hit bottom! Surly, sour looking man behind counter gave me lip when I asked if he was the desk person. No hello , welcome, kiss my ass or any words from this bird! Place had numerous reminders to tip the staff. We had a knock at our door about 4pm of the second day of our 3 day stay by a young man asking if we needed anything. We later got fresh towels and waste paper basket emptied. Bed never made, no vacuum, no bathroom cleaning. Furniture was absolutely filthy. Coffee pot was so bad I didn't even try to clean it! Mattresses and pillows should have been replaced years ago. One (1) Plus: breakfast room was kept orderly and clean by the attendant. Automatic coffee dispenser was coughing up a jet black liquid that smelled so bad I didn't dare taste it. The place had many bikers as guests so we felt relatively safe. Pool looked clean and ice was plentiful so one star goes up. read more

I was extremely disappointed with the house keeping! They had very limited housekeeping hours. If you wanted your bed made you had to do it yourself. Clean towels - you have go to the front desk and request them. Example - we found an old comb the fold out. My wife had to go to the front desk, ask for sheets and put them on herself. Garbage wasn't cleaned out either. It felt like a "short stay" motel. Frankly I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Our room was a place to sleep. Beds were hard, I had to clean coffee pot. The bathroom was moldy and the sink bowl is cracked. Outdated furniture. Not very clean. Was disappointed. This is privately owned so not up to usual standards of past days inn that I've stayed in. read more

Not a bad place to stay when there are limited options. Stayed at the Days Inn during a busy apple season, paid above what was expected but found a good deal on Priceline. Staff was friendly and checked me in just fine. The room was basic and comfortable. No issues. The complimentary breakfast was also basic. Coffee was average/good. A clean and very friendly property. Good WiFi. Okay breakfast. We were actually planning to stay at the Super 8 directly behind the Days Inn, but it turned out their WiFi was down and not expected to be fixed that day (my T-Mobile works great at home but has been worse than spotty on our cross country road trip..Ting here I come). We liked this hotel (and area) enough to stay a second night. The breakfast was fairly standard (waffles, toast, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, juice, coffee, plastic wrapped muffins and cinnamon rolls) - but the eating area was large and clean and most importantly Fox News was Not on the TV. This is an a-ok hotel, but there needs to be some work done on the rooms. The staff was really wonderful. I booked through booking.com which booked me in a king the first night and queen the second because it was nearly sold out because of the Apple festival. The staff was really good and although we missed them in the morning after checking out of the first room, I was told the room was ready so we could have changed rooms in the morning, very quality service. Summary: Pros: clean rooms, great staff Cons: crappy breakfast (nothing fresh or quality), noise, cleaning smell, room consistency Now on to explaining the cons. Our first night the room smelled strongly of cleaning supplies when we arrived. We could hear a whooshing noise from the opposite wall ( or ceiling maybe?) The AC unit smelled burnt when I turned the heat on. The bed and pillows were hard. Not good for the $. I woke up with that "dry hotel room" sore throat. In contrast the second night the queen room felt nicer, had a different AC unit that wasn't smelly or noisy. The beds were much more comfortable and pillows fluffier. The queen was a cheaper room to boot Finally, I'm all for being green, but I really don't like all in one shampoo things. Just mount a refillable thing on the wall for Pete's sake. This was a great place to stay and very close to the Gettysburg Battle Field. We came out for our Anniversary and my birthday just for the weekend. The room was very clean and they sanitized every hour. The elevator was cleaned I could smell it. No one came into our room during our 2 night stay. Felt very safe. The hotel staff was exceptional. I was half way home when I realized that I left a very important book in the room. Martha was the lady I spoke with and she was able to get it and secure it immediately. Then it was shipped back to me in a day. I was lost without it. I'm so thankful it didn't get into the wrong hands. Martha went above and beyond to get it back to me. I'm so grateful. I would definitely stay here again. I was expecting a room with a jacuzzi but I think maybe because of covid they did not use those rooms. We did have electric outlets blow out on us. I think at least 2 of them. I thought my air purifier was broke and my cell phone didn't charge up. That's when we realized they stopped working. Stayed here on the customers dime; if I were paying, I would probably be harsher in my review. The room was OK; there's no evidence of a mold problem in the building. A minifridge and a microwave are in the room. The bed was comfortable enough. No HBO, and the tv resolution is not good; the tv is a newer model flat screen, however. Be warned; the toilets need two flushes. The shower is meh. Complementary breakfast is terrible. The only animal protein is boiled eggs from a bucket. There is a Perkins next door though. It might be one of the few times in your life you say "Thank God for Perkins!" read more

Cailin got me and my bike checked in and made a long ride feel short just by smiling when I came in. If you're in need of a bath make sure you buy a pure leaf tea to makeshift a drain cap. The building could use a good plumber to upkeep the water systems but the heating and cooling is perfect and the area is really nice for a family meal and a beautiful sunset. There are other hotels in the area where you might meet some friendly travelers and getting back on the road can be quick. The house is kept very nicely. Thanks Days Inn. There is a nice pool which we took advantage of twice in our one night stay. The hotel is close to a few places to eat. Great value and excellent staff. The continental breakfast is boring, but it's free. The highlight of my stay was the ghostly encounter my step-son and I had during the night (room 104). We both bolted upright at the sound of a man in our room laughing. We both looked directly at the mirror, and it clearly was in our room and not next door or in the hall. There was nobody there. After having a terrific "ghostly" encounter at Devil's Den the day before, this made my stay a 5-star experience and would definitely stay again. If ghostly encounters aren't your thing, stay out of room 104, and don't spend the night in Gettysburg. LOL read more

First the positives, nice staff, and decent pool. There is free coffee in the lobby which actually tasted good. Our stay turned south when we hit our room. Our room was hot and smelled terrible. Also after trying the TV to no avail we discovered it was unplugged. The shampoo and soap were cheap quality and took a whole bottle to get any lather. The towels felt rough and cheap like they were from the dollar store. The mattress was ok. The rooms and hallways felt dark and dated. Still looking good so far Then the employee at the desk when we checked in was another story. Very short, very snooty. But I felt like she was Regina George and I was a fat chick in high school I had to leave because I was gonna start acting like an asshole. My friend came back in to see if cc had been charged and of course it had so we stayed. Yes people say good things about it, but this time at least was not a good thing. Got some pics of the disgusting bathroom was a real game changer for me. Breakfast wasn't bad. Room was good size. Wifi horrible slow and kept buffering so to speak. Hope I can add pics. She was outwardly friendly to the other guests she had pleasant exchanges with other guests in my presence but for whatever reason not to us. So that being said, found out yesterday I need to be here couple more days based on my stay to this point I have decided to spend the nest 2-3 days at another hotel in Gettysburg. We were hesitant to stay at another Days Inn after a horrible experience last year, but this one seemed okay so we went for it and we were so glad we did! We arrived very late after driving from Massachusetts but this was no problem. Our check in was quick and easy and we got to our room no problem. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom could've used a little nicer update and a little more scrubbing in the corners, but we're talking a chain hotel here. We stayed for 2 nights, as we were checking out Gettysburg Battlefield and the location couldn't have been more convenient. The free breakfast was nice and enough for the morning, the only note was that the coffee was horrible, and we are not very picky about coffee. I couldn't even drink it. Otherwise, we had a great stay here and my boyfriend said he would return when he brings his Dad to Gettysburg someday! read more

My husband and I stayed at the Days Inn on Friday, Feb. 7th. We've stayed in Days Inn's in the past and they were average at best. However, the Gettysburg location is excellent! We were greeted by a very friendly staff, very nice lobby, and a case of deserved awards. Our room was clean as a whistle. I checked picture frames for dust, checked the sheets and the bathroom and all were spotless. The beds were comfortable too. Breakfast was sufficient. There's a bonus of having a Perkins Restaurant a very short walking distance away. The hotel is located close to all the sights which was a plus too. All in all, we were both extremely impressed. With the exception of one girl that I don't think beloinged in her job, I really liked the front desk here. I stayed here for two weekends, and I really liked everyone here and I felt that they liked me! The room was average, I checked for bedbugs, there were none, and I didn't dislike the room, as I said, it was average. The side door was always locked, which strangely makes me feel better, and isn't always the case. In fact, it's rarely the case. Just be forewarned there are a remarkable amount of slugs on the sidewalk at night of the side door to the left of the front door as you are facing it. Weird. read more

Visiting this area, you have tons of hotel choices, but not many compare to this cheap priced spot right on the main strip close to all attractions! The rooms and entire place are spotless and very large and will accomodate your entire family! It sits a few miles from the main visitors center and battlefield and has not only a Perkins eating place in the parking lot, but a Dairy Queen in front as well within walking distance. You can go wrong with this hotel, since it is cheaper than any in the area, and the staff is friendly and helpfull and the continental breakfast is very good! Plus the rooms are very clean and contain double queen beds in most. I would highly recommend this place to any family trying to vacation in the area and they even have tour bus pickups from this spot! A must stay in this area of history! read more

When when we there go to the hotel. They switch us to a handicap room after been in the room we got First. They charges us 97.00 dollars on the credit card. When they don't charge till check out day. There was a fight outside the hotel didn't know till I told them about. The place isn't close to downtown. They could not figure out other charges made to my account.
