Although this is a non-smoking hotel, the room we were given reeked of smoke. We immediately called the front desk and were given another room within 2 minutes. The staff is always accommodating and the hotel is clean and well maintained. When you are looking for a hotel in the area make sure to give this one a try. Unfortunately I have to lower my rating from a four to a two. The bathrooms are desperately in need of an update. There are rust marks around the shower head that is pulling away from the wall. In addition, paint is peeling off the bathroom ceiling and the carpet in the bedroom area is DESPERATELY in need of either a deep cleaning or replacement. This was always our go to hotel when visiting Jersey. Now it's our go to another hotel! read more

Not a fan. Booked for the semi-cheap price, as it was only a quick 2 day trip, but I regret not spending a bit more for another hotel. It's old, and outdated, including the elevator. The pillow had stains all over and it's definitely a fresh stain because it was crusty, yuck! The bathroom door doesn't lock, the paint on it is peeling off. The freezer section of the mini fridge has ice built up so bad, you could barely even open it. Tempted to leave. read more

The hotel is outdated and run down. The rooms smell like mildew especially when the ac is running. The beds a hard as bricks if you get the double bed option but the king beds are comfy. The guest staying are mostly construction type works in and out like a motel. The staff is friendly but the quality of my long stay was horrible. After the tropical storm coming through and my room having a big water leak I couldn't take it any longer. Had to move to another comfort inn 30 plus miles away and it's a HUGE difference. Not up to Comfort Inn standards. This hotel is dingy & not as clean as it could be. The breakfast buffet was uninspired and after my trip down a filthy stairwell, I was not ready to try the food. In addition to not cleaning the stairwell, the outside fire door was propped open with a piece of asphalt & no one around. The interior fire door had no door handles, was rusted, and would not close. It was not functional. That's two violations of the life safety code. Stuff was piled in the hallway in front of the door--violation #3. I felt like I was sleeping in a lumpy hammock. The mattress was way past due. The gratuitous safe charge is still in effect. I cancelled the rest of my reservation and booked a room elsewhere. This one isn't worth the money you pay. read more

Nothing worse than walking into your room after a hard days work, just looking for a decent hotel that's clean and safe and you turn the lights on and it's the complete opposite. The room looks straight out of 1998, the bathroom ceiling is gross and peeling, there was "residue" on the toilet seat, stains on the bathroom floor, the carpet looks like it was used in an old casino, the bed is rock hard, any wood surface is chipped and scratched and dirty and the list goes on and on. This hotel epitomizes the phrase "you get what you pay for." It's outdated, tacky and smells a little off, but we stayed here for practically nothing. I read the reviews just prior to our arrival and found them to be much friendlier than others had described. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The bathroom wasn't entirely clean; a hair and bug live there now (I won't be encroaching on there territory) but I understand that this a cheap hotel on the side of the highway in New Jersey next to the Adult Emporium and the abandoned Dunkin Donuts. Sure, the elevator looks like it was stolen from another hotel and you aren't quite sure if that small is curry or disinfectant, but it's cheap and right next to the bus stop. So, if you're expecting/looking for the Hilton, consider spending more money. If you want economical and something that you can write dry, mildly critical yelp reviews about, you've found a winner. Hey, it beats a sharp stick in the eye! I give this place one star simply for existing (since that's the lowest possible rating.) A second star because it was cheap. And a third star because it exceeded my expectations based on the reviews that I read and it's convenient to get into Manhattan. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. There is BEDBUG!! It just happened last night. My husband and I went to bed and were scratching over an hour. My whole body was so itching and I noticed I got bug bites on my arm. I got up, turned on the light and saw my arm is swollen with bites. It was just an arm for me but my husband got bites all over his shoulder and neck. We didn't see any bugs on the bed but since we got so many bites, I am guessing they were under the bed sheets and pillows. We called the front desk immediately and they gave us another room at the same floor. Thankfully the new room was okay, but by the time, it was 1:30 AM, fully awake due to itchiness, shock of bedbugs and worrying if they are in my suitcase. It was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. The front desk was friendly but who cares if there is bedbugs in the room. read more

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was a joy because there were donuts from a NY bakery (local) and potatoes were served in the hot breakfast area. The room was very clean and I liked the colorful carpet on the hallway floors. I would have given 5 stars but my review would have been placed in the reviews not recommended. The side staircase of this hotel smell like a staircase in a housing project. The one employee from the restaurant was in a dirty apron slumped over in a chair in the lobby every time I came through there looking very unprofessional. This hotel was FILTHY! From the lobby, elevator, hallways, and especially the rooms. Furniture was dirty, cracked. Everything looked liked it was smeared with food and goodness knows what else. Couldn't even look at the window--it was covered in filth on the inside. Toilet seat was cracked, walls were filthy dirty, headboards were dirty, floor and rugs were stained and dirty, wallpaper was just peeling off the walls. The smell was overwhelming. They must try to over compensate by pumping thru air freshner--we could hardly breathe. Can't even describe breakfast, tables were dirty, food was cold, eggs were not real--should be ashamed of themselves for even having this hotel--it was totally gross! Don't think I will ever stay in a Comfort Inn again. read more

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Parking is acceptable. Physically the hotel passes muster. There might be an issue with the ethics of the operator. Watch out for sneaky charges on the bill. At check-in they will tell you to "sign here and initial here, here and here." One of those initials will get you a surprise charge of $1.75 per night for a Safe w/ltd Warranty. Of course the front desk person claimed that I agreed to the charge and that he could not do anything about it. My guess is they count of the low amount not being enough to motivate complaints and charge backs. read more

I wasn't here before the place was renovated rooms. Comfy beds, nice hot shower, expensive dinner dining but they also had pizza and I think the closest place to eat was 7 miles away. We had a great stay and a nice big breakfast before hitting the road. read more

It's Jersey! What do you want? It's clean reasonably well kept. They serve breakfast. They do have a full restaurant. Italian I believe. The parking lot is small. Biggest problem is nothing within walking distance. Not corner store or fast food within blocks. The way they lay out the roads here. You have to go up miles to turn around. Then pass the hotel a mile to turn back around. That sucks. read more

This review is honest and unbiased, even though our stay was horrible. First thing, the staff at check in seemed unknowledgeable about the amenities of the property. Upon arrival, I asked about microwaves-was told they didn't have any. I entered the room, found they did. The problems came about when ghetto guests were playing 2Chainz very loud, VERY L O U D at 4:!5am. I called the front desk and they acted nonchalant. Next night, someone was smoking some potent marijuana and the fumes were SO strong, I swear I got a buzz. I called the front desk, they acted nonchalant. Okay- next and final problem:pets. They said they allow pets, we had our dog. Went to renew our stay, was told by a different clerk they dont allow pets that DAY (?! WTF)and was asked to leave in 30 minutes. Was called a bitch by the front desk clerk who got mad when we said we'd make this review on Yelp.Avoid this place if you can at all costs. We changed to the La Quinta a few miles away. The rooms are spacious, much cleaner, and straight forward, easy check in. read more

I'm not sure why a lot of people gave bad reviews, this place was great and we would definitely come back again! We needed a place to stay somewhat in between Lodi, NJ and Morristown, NJ. Gave this place a shot and it was great! The woman at the front desk was very nice, she was there when we checked in and when we checked out the next morning. She was very sweet and had great customer service skills. They have continental breakfast which was more then enough (eggs, sausage, waffle maker, breads, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc.). And the woman in charge of the breakfast was very attentive and kept everything fresh and clean. We were even late checking out, about 45 minutes and it was no big deal. It's no 5 star resort, but I definitey think it's worth the money, and it's a comfortable and clean hotel to stay overnight for a night or two. read more

The hotel itself was not that bad for the price. However, the hallways and elevators were very dirty. The restaurant, which we were told was one of the best italian restaurants in the area, was closed at 8:30PM on the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend. On the morning we were to check out, room service knocked on our door at 8:30AM! Then a half hour later, I went downstairs to get coffee and was asked what room I was in. I told the staff I was not ready for them to enter (and I put the Do Not Disturb sign up). A while later, my husband and I both went downstairs to eat and was asked AGAIN what our room number was. I once again told the staff we were not ready for them to clean and we would let them know. About 10AM I took a few things out to the car and was asked AGAIN for my room number. We really felt rushed out of there - check out is 11AM, Check in is 3PM. It's not that big of a hotel, why the rush? The breakfast area was a joke. It obviously serves as both a closet and eating area as there were chairs and tables staked by the doorway as you entered - probably a code violation. Again, we were there around 9:30 and they were taking everything away - breakfast was supposed to end at 10. Feeling rushed again. I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel. Also, just read a review regarding bed bugs and both my husband and I have several bites on us that we can't explain. Go somewhere else. read more

Let me start off by saying that i spend 90% of my life in hotels. So, ive stayed in quite a few. Never have i had such a bad experience. First disappointment about this place is the front desk service. I arrive after driving for hours only to find my room is not ready and its delivered with a caddy dont give crap attitude. I finally get into my room, after braving the horrific smell of the hallways. My room was clean and fine. After spending a few hours trying to relax and wind down after a day of work i get the pleasure of listening to the pounding of chicken tenderizers and clanging pots and pans. Oh yea half of the second floor is directly above the restaurant kitchen. So from 4:30-10:00pm you get that gloriousness. Then once that stops god forbid someone takes a shower. Every pipe in your wall starts screaming as water flows through the hotel. AWESOME huh? Theres more! Hot? turn on the AC only to get a ridiculously loud annoying sound coming from that. How the heck am i supposed to sleep? Oh yea i dont. Next as im watching my tv, it turns red. Every channel. A couple bangs on the side of it did the job.....for a little bit. Oh and just to top things off. Theres only shampoo no conditioner and the soda machine is broken. You might be thinking wow this guy just must hate these people or something or why did he stay. I stayed cause it was close to my job which was important, and no i have nothing against the people that work here. Just whoever owns this place has no clue how to make a "Comfort"able enviroment for its guest.....IF YOU DONT READ ANY OF THE ABOVE, JUST DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. read more
