*SCAMMERS!* First of all, this place was absolutely FILTHY! I made several complaints concerning the dirty rooms. I had to clean the bathtub before showering! None of the employees seemed to know the name of the manager or the owner. How convenient! It used to be a decent play to stay! Not anymore! It was dirty and run down! Very outdated! In desperate need of cleaning and repairs! Days after we left, we noticed a $250.00 charge on our bank acct. They charged us a "CLEANING FEE!" They accused us of smoking in the room (which we did NOT)! TOTAL SCAM! When I contacted them, I was told by "Josh" at the front desk, he wasn't sure who charged our acct but the dates he gave me were NOT even dates that we stayed there! The manager (whoever that may be) was supposed to call me back. I never heard from anyone again! Room is dark, dirty and not cared for. No heat was on. The room was an icebox. The bathtub was dirty and disgusting. Took a picture to show the women at the front desk, two miserable cows. I showed them the picture of the dirty tub and no one said anything. Not an "I'm sorry" not an "that's horrible". They just looked at me like most crack heads around here. This hotel is dirty, disgusting, smelly and not cared for. The walls are falling apart. Gonna be checking our beds for bedbugs. In a place like this, it wouldn't surprise me. I am thoroughly disappointed with this Comfort Inn. We all know it's not a 5 star hotel, but over the years I've come to expect Comfort Inns to be clean, well maintained, nicely laid out, with a knowledgeable staff. But this one was just a step above motel! Choice Hotels ought to just convert this one to an Econolodge! We waited for OVER an hour to check in because the wifi was down. The front desk guy (who seemed very scattered) eventually set up check in procedures in the "business center" which was a dark room with only flashing holiday lights for illumination. How is that appropriate for a business center? I'm glad I don't have an epileptic condition, but I do get migraines and the flashing made my head hurt. One couple in our party had to change rooms because the room they were given was filthy! The surfaces had trash on them and the toilet still had human waste in it (I did not take a picture of that!). To his credit, the scattered front desk guy upgraded them to a suite. And while it was a larger space, the room itself seemed to suffer from a lack of basic upkeep. The walls showed scuffs and areas with non matching paint. The paint around various fixtures was peeling. And there were stains visible on the carpet. In my own room I found a hair in the shower that did not match a color or curl pattern belonging to either me or my travel companion. The mattresses were extremely firm which I did not like and the pillows were exceptionally soft which I also didn't appreciate (although admittedly those are personal preferences). The layout of the lobby is cramped. The furniture is worn. The one redeeming thing about this place is the breakfast which had a good assortment of food. It's the standard (mostly) prepackaged set up. But I've seen some places that lack the variety they did so I have to give credit where credits it's due. They had bananas, oranges, coffee, tea, different flavored instant oatmeal, eggs, bacon, waffle maker, an assortment of muffins, assorted yogurt, granola, english muffins, bread for toast, and danishes. read more

Where do I start praising this hotel? The actual hotel was a four-star regular basic hotel at best, nothing fancy. The reason for the five star review is the quality of service that I received from everyone that I encountered. The employees were all genuine, caring, and helpful. Their pleasantness did not seem forced in any way. I will definitely be recommending this particular hotel to family and friends on their next trip to the Poconos. read more

We asked for 2 beds since it was us and our kid but supposedly there wasn't one available. We did NOT be let him take a bath because of the nasty tub, and certainly did not turn on the heat because it's dusty and filthy looking. Gross. Good customer service can help overlook lots of flaws, but that's NOT what we have here. If you must, there's a fridge and microwave and some pretty photos on the walls. That's all I have. Just when you thought maybe a NAME hotel Cleaned up it's act it they didn't. Pool dark needs more seating. Spa not working and out of order. Room needs updating and cleaning. Bathroom had faulty toilet and had to continually giggle handle to get water to stop running. Then the topper was at 5am when a loon down the hall in a room banging banging banging banging to get into a room for like 30 mins trying to break down door and no management comes to handle situation- it easily woke up the entire floor and sleeping kids (thanks for that). The hotel is very outdated to start. I stayed on the ground level in a room with 2 double beds with my 89 year old mother. The bathroom wasn't great. The door to the bathroom creaked so loudly it actually scared me. The caulking around the bathtub looked very dirty, maybe mold. I wasn't about to get in to see it up close. The toilet was on such a strange angle almost like it was pulled from under the counter. Just very weird. I felt very uncomfortable staying there to be honest. I had turned on the heater. The odor that came out of it was horrendous. I had to spray my perfume in it to make it better. Maybe it's just a filter replacement issue, idk. When we left the room we stayed for the continental breakfast which was the only plus. I had to use the restroom in the lobby. After washing my hands and placing the used paper towel in the garbage I saw there was a lot of blood in the receptacle and what looked like cut hair. That was it for me. Their front desk person was extremely rude to me when I called to get help with an issue. When I told them that I wouldn't stay at this comfort inn anymore, they said "Good, we don't want you here." Their attitude was unprofessional and uncalled for. On top of that they refused to give me their name so I could put in a complaint against them. If I could choose negative 5 stars I would. This place should be condemned and everyone fired. The "general manager" "Heather" apparently has been there running this place into the ground since 2011. Heather was passive aggressive unhelpful and unwilling to acknowledge any of our complaints. She blamed everything on covid and her staffing issues. The attached pictures speak for themselves except for the discusting odor that forced us to sleep in our car overnight in the parking lot. I was unable to get pics of the rats traveling back and forth from the attached restaurant across the parking lot. Heather insisted that they were only mice and not rats. She also blamed the restaurant for the broken glass cigarette butts and debris all along the side of the building. None of the exterior security doors were operational so anyone off the street can wonder inn and walk through the hotel Heather dismissed that as well and said "well we never had a problem". She was also not happy that we reached out to corporate for assistance when she was MIA and not returning out calls. What an embarrassment this property and general manager is to Comfort Inn. Everything was so excellent, from making the reservation through check-in, a comfortable night's sleep in a clean room, through the breakfast buffet, facilities on-site, through check-out.... Good price, clean rooms, free wifi, indoor pool and hot tub, free coffee all day in lobby, plenty of parking, and a continental breakfast that actually hits multiple food groups (unlike some that just put out some pastries). Only one waffle maker though! So a line is going to form. I was doing some activities in a resort in the area, and judging by their high prices and poor reviews, you are much better off staying here and going to a resort for activities than staying on site. If you're visiting the area, this place can't be beat. It was the cheapest place I could find over Columbus Day Weekend, as me and my husband were planning to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. The poconos seemed like a great place to do that and we were happy with our hotel. Hotel Pros: -Location: right off the thruway and close to Hickory Run State Park including great hiking and geocaching opportunities, and near many other parks as well, -Price -Free breakfast including make your own waffles, not just the normal continental faire -Nice Rooms -Indoor pool and hot tub -Free coffee and hot chocolate all day -Free Wifi Hotel Cons -Some of the rooms were underground, the 4th floor is where you enter at the lobby, as we stayed on the 5th floor we had windows looking out to the parking lot, but some of the lower floors may have had a concrete wall to look at, def not quite as nice. - really can't think of any others, def recommend! read more

Horrible! I will give one star because there were no bugs; the mattresses were clean. That's the best I can say because our bathroom hadn't been cleaned and the floor hadn't been cleaned either. Other people's hair everywhere! I looked in the shower and immediately thought "Hell no!" We did complain to the front desk right away and the manager "upgraded" us to a different room with a jacuzzi. The upgraded room's bathroom was cleaner than the first room, but the floor was just as disgusting with hair and debris all over it and we didn't want to remove our shoes. The jacuzzi jets in the tub looked dirty and who knows what would have shot out of them but they didn't even turn on! Yes we tried as this was our "upgrade". At this point however, we had enough trying and giving benefit of the doubt; we were so grossed out we couldn't stay the night. The lobby even had a weird smell when you walked in. We got a refund and went across the street to the Holiday Inn Express who luckily had availability. The difference was like night and day! I don't normally leave bad reviews but the Comfort Inn - Pocono Mountains in White Haven was so dirty I felt I had to pass this on for the next person looking for a good value. This is not it. Be sure to check for bed bugs when you check in. I was bitten 6+ times just from laying in one of the beds here before switching rooms. Management refused a refund, told us that what I saw was a "ladybug," and said that if I were bitten by a bed bug, I had brought them. When I saw the bed bug, I requested a room switch, which was granted. The whole time this was going on the power was out at the property and there were no lights. I had to treat my belongings when got home to ensure the critters didn't infest my house and suffered with itchy, uncomfortable bites down my arm and leg for almost 2 weeks. The marks didn't fade until about 3 weeks-1month after. Management was completely lacking in understanding for what I went through. I hope the next person who stays in that room is more fortunate. read more

Rooms have been refreshed and the 2x double we stayed in was modern and clean. The pool was excellent. It is indoors and was heated to the point of being pleasant on entry. There is a whirlpool as well, a small but useful fitness room (1 treadmill, 1 bike, 1 large weights multi station 2 people can use separately and a bench). It has a business center, snack shop (microwaveable mac n cheese, chips, ice cream and sodas kind of thing). We chose it because it has a sensible pet fee of $15 unlike the nearby Marriotts and hiltons that charge $75-$100 flat rate. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, pastries, toast and yoghurts. For the price I would recommend and stay here again. read more

i was here about 20 years ago, and thought it was ok. came back for 5 nights to see pocono race and visit other attractions. we entered our room and first thing i said was i remembered it to be nicer. my wife took a shower in the morning and was standing in 6 inches of water as the tub wasnt draining. i told the receptionist at the front desk, and she said, "i'll put it on the list" i asked what that meant and she rudely starred and said"I SAID, I,LL PUT IT ON THE LIST" so, off to breakfast. there were a few crumbs of eggs but no bacon. i got a coffee and sticky bun, and about 15 minutes later eggs were brought out, with a small line waiting to gobble them up. we left for the day to go to the casino. i asked for new towels as we were staying longer. we returned around 6pm, no towels. had to go back to desk, and was handed 2 towels. as far as the room went, it looks like for the past 20 years all the cleaning involved was a quick wipe of the old toilet and emptying of baskets. the windowsill had rusted nails and dirt on it. The hotel itself was OK, but nothing particularly special. It was at least seemingly clean in the rooms. However, the TV remote did not work and the hallways were a little dingy. The real issue was that after my wife had called in advance to cancel the room for one of the original nights, the hotel failed to do so despite reassuring my wife that they had made the changes. Then, to make matters worse, the desk person had not done her job and left any notes. Because of this, they claimed they were "unable" to fix the situation. Therefore they hid behind this excuse and billed us through the third-party ( Priceline) for two nights rather than just the one that we had stayed for. While they did refund the third night (charged for the single night that we actually stayed), they refused to fix the situation and we still got double billed for a single night stay. The manager kept telling me she was willing to reverse the charge for the first night, however, when Priceline called her directly (five minutes later) she changed her story and would not approve it. Whatever happened to customer service? I feel like they were blatantly dishonest in this process and tried to shift the blame to everyone else without acknowledging that their employee had screwed up. read more

There are always leaks in the place from the lobby to the rooms. They short cut everything which means nothing in the place is totally fix they put a bandaid on the problem. The new floors they put in look awful. Please do not go there and waste your time your money is not worth it. And if comfort inn corporate is reading this changes have to be made, the place is a joke. Also allows a worker name Bernadette who does laundry and breakfast not very well to still work and live there when she drinks on the job and cause arguments every night that guests complain plus her son who was going into peoples room steal food and other weird stuff. The stay overall was good, but the hotel and rooms could use some work. My bed's platform was broken upon arrival, so I was sleeping on a crooked bed. Then, my room felt like it was not cleaned. There were food crumbs under my bed, a used notepad, and a bra in one of the drawers under the TV! The side stairwell had a plastic cup of marinara sauce in it and had not been picked up and thrown out the entire stay. There is no lock or key system used to open the side entrance, so pretty much anyone could enter the hotel at anytime of the day. My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. We never stayed at a Comfort Inn before so we were skeptical when we pulled up to the location. But our skepticism was proven wrong almost immediately with the friendly staff checking us in after 10pm at night. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Also, 8 pillows waiting in the room for us was amazing. There was a karate tournament nearby so the hotel was packed and the kids had control of the pool and the hot tub (thanks to those parents for not watching their children). As we approach the clerk on the front dest she continued to tell us to lower our voices she didn't want to alert customers or staffs. Seems as if she knew the body was there for a while, when Paramedics arrived. He simply asked her same person? Her answer was yes, he knew exactly where he was going. Everything seem so unreal to how fast Paramedics, coroner and police arrived at the same time as if they were called a long time ago. I've stayed at a few Comfort Inn's always had a great experience. I have to check them in on a Friday evening for my daughter's dance competition at a nearby hotel which was completely booked we got to the room it seem pretty basic wasn't a problem for me because I'm not a complainer however I did say so myself this room can use a paint job desperately. I didn't have time to stay inside the room seeing that my daughter had a dance practice so we rushed out to the venue for her practice once we return it was approximately 11pm I open the fridge after stopping at Wawa's to pick up a few things. Went to place them in the refrigerator only to realize the refrigerator couldn't close due to the ice being built up inside the freezer. I decided to go run my shower since I was a little annoyed only to realize there was no running water I went over to the telephone so so I can call the front desk and let them know the situation we got with the refrigerator and but no running water only to realize the telephone inside the room didn't work now I had to go google the telephone number and call the front desk the representative of the hotel Miss Barbara informed me that there was no water and they were working on the problem she will put a ticket in for the refrigerator and as far as the phone they are there's no way for them to know that the phone doesn't work if we don't inform them again now I'm frustrated it's not my job as a customer to tell you that the phone is it working. That's why you have maintenance who go around and check the little things like that. Mrs Barbara said she will put a ticket in for maintenance aggravated I went to sleep without taking a shower only to wake up at 8am to realize there was still no running water but this time we can't flush the toilet so I'm really frustrated I took the garbage can down to the pool area so I can fill it with water in order to be able to flush the toilet. I went to the front desk to find out what was going on and Mrs Barbara informed that it's supposed to be fixed by 10am well 10am came and pass and still there was still no running water until about 1pm. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was informed there was no one available until Tuesday morning. The maids walks the halls never said good morning. The pool you would think they would lock the door or they lace a sign since it's no running water nope I had to stop a little boy from jumping into the pool. They still was serving breakfast which I don't understand how if there's no running water in the building. By me rushing out the door trying to get to another hotel my daughter left her sneakers inside the seven area I called back to the hotel and ask if they were able to check and the representative informed me that she was really busy and she wouldn't be able to check at the moment. Let's keep in mind this is an area is in front of the front desk. I Then tell Time never mind I was on my way back once was only 2 mins away. I got to the hotel I saw no line with the representative standing behind the desk tearing paper I couldn't understand what kind of customer service is this. There were about 20 people with kids from our dance company who booked at this hotel. Finally after calling the front desk again regarding the refrigerator only to find out there was no ticket ever created for the problems in my room Saturday evening the maintenance guy Dante ( The only one of the staff members that actually had some courtesy ) came to the room checked on refrigerator he informed me that if the blockage from the ice so he then remove the freezer door off the refrigerator that we will be able to use the fridge somewhat. I was highly disappointed and I'm satisfied with the service of this particular Comfort and I've never in my life experience anything like this I would never recommend anyone to stay at this hotel and now it has me second-guessing any other comfort inn. For the price, it couldn't be beat! Our room was pretty spacious, and the bathroom was huge! The shower was amazing! Who says that about a hotel shower?!?!?! The pool and hot tub were a little outdated, but again, you get what you pay for. They do offer free breakfast every morning, which was pretty good (waffles, eggs, cereal, bagels, donuts, etc.) They also have free coffee all the time in the lobby, we hit that up several times during our stay, and it was actually really good coffee. I have traveled around the world and without doubt this is the worst place I've ever had the misfortune to stay. First, ads are VERY misleading, no where did it say this was on a major highway. When we first pulled up I knew this was going to be a nightmare as we saw all the trash in the parking lot and the over flowing trash can by the lobby door. The rooms are dated and dirty, after finding that the "utensils" were stuck to the coffee tray, in-room coffee was out of the question and we tossed a towel over it. Every stick of furniture was disgustingly dirty, we sat on towels, speaking of towels the bathroom was dirty, hair all over! Lights were not plugged in, elevator not working, ect... The only plus was that Katie our desk clerk was nice as could be. We also paid $169+ for this room unlike other reviewers. And if you're thinking why did we stay, there was some type of marathon in town and we could not find another room. Avoid this place like the plague as you may catch it!!!!! read more

Waffle/pancake machine, eggs, bacon, sausage, good coffee, hash browns, cereal, yogurt etc.....very quiet hotel and right across the street from Wawa and a few fast food places. Found the hotel to be dirty, nasty staff, old, tired and worn. Had to stay there for a blues festival as all other hotels in the area were booked. Barking dogs as they allow pets throughout the hotel and owners are not required to stay in the room with their pets. Therefore, pets are scared and do nothing but bark.....constantly. Every floor. Don't stay there.....do yourself a favor and drive a little further and finding a better place to stay. Shame on Comfort Inn Corporate for allowing any location to operate in this manner. Stayed here for a night before the Tough Mudder in the Poconos. While the rooms are nothing fancy (pillows and bed are great actually, micro and fridge as well) - the staff is excellent. Not only did they call my room to tell me I left an interior light on in my car, but when I left my cell phone at the front desk during checkout, they chased me down in the parking lot to return it. Definitely went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Thanks again Comfort Inn - if I'm ever back that way I'll be sure to stay there! read more

Granted, I was there on a weeknight in the off-season (i.e., not summer, not ski season). But for the price I paid, I couldn't ask for more. The room was clean and comfortable, climate control was perfect, wifi worked, enough electric outlets to charge my various electronic devices. Staff was super-friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was nothing to write home about, but next time I'll just spend an extra $10 and walk across the street to McDonald's and still feel like I got more than my money's worth. read more

I've made eye contact with person at desk several times but she keeps talking. The phone was ringing. Another person comes after me and has to wait behind me. Line is forming. When this woman finally got to me she walked away and got coffee out. She comes back. Said she sorry but she keeps on doing stuff. She couldn't find my reservation. Her voice is distinctive I'm certain it was her that made my reservation a week ago on the phone during my lunch break. Then had to reprint a paper for me to sign because the one she first gave had someone else name on it. Then she tells me I cannot check in early without paying a fee. It was 2:50 pm. Afterwards, as I walked to sofa waiting area to wait for 3:00, she call me just as I sat down. Said she will "waive" fee. This was before I returned to desk after going up to sixth floor because the key card she ave me didn't work. My second trip up to my room two maids were in elevator. Both of them look as displeased as I felt. During this unpleasant experience I learned that that woman was the manager! WOW I can't imagine what working with that woman is like. I left at 6, and I didn't get my wake up call and no there wasn't fresh coffee made. Some guy at the desk had a game console hooked up to the computer. This obviously more important than doing your job. So I was checked in by an incompetent manager and checked out by a slacker. The room was nice but the staff was idiots or miserable. read more
