Another view of the nasty unclean tub. She told me it was "old". Would you bathe your child in this tub?

Room is dark, dirty and not cared for. No heat was on. The room was an icebox. The bathtub was dirty and disgusting. Took a picture to show the women at the front desk, two miserable cows. I showed them the picture of the dirty tub and no one said anything. Not an "I'm sorry" not an "that's horrible". They just looked at me like most crack heads around here. This hotel is dirty, disgusting, smelly and not cared for. The walls are falling apart. Gonna be checking our beds for bedbugs. In a place like this, it wouldn't surprise me. Would you give your child a bath in a tub that looks like this?? I actually went to Walmart for cleaning products so I could properly clean my tub before I gave my child a bath in it. Sickening. Carla at the front desk was miserable. Unhelpful. Rude. Attitude. Eddie, the general manager was the epitome of class and how a manager should act. Hoping our refund comes in or else we will have to escalate this further. I voice recorded both interactions with me and Carla, and then me and Eddie and Carla. I will be emailing them to the Choice hotel groups. Avoid this place at all costs.

This place is super gross. The workers are nice, but the facility is more than rough. Lots of burn marks in the carpet and on the furniture. My chair and ottoman have huge stains on them. And in my room: hair everywhere, floors not swept, the toilet wasn't clean, the shower rod is all busted up, and the tub backed up immediately when I started the shower.

Rooms in need of proper paint and overall maintenance

I am thoroughly disappointed with this Comfort Inn. We all know it's not a 5 star hotel, but over the years I've come to expect Comfort Inns to be clean, well maintained, nicely laid out, with a knowledgeable staff. But this one was just a step above motel! Choice Hotels ought to just convert this one to an Econolodge! We waited for OVER an hour to check in because the wifi was down. The front desk guy (who seemed very scattered) eventually set up check in procedures in the "business center" which was a dark room with only flashing holiday lights for illumination. How is that appropriate for a business center? I'm glad I don't have an epileptic condition, but I do get migraines and the flashing made my head hurt. One couple in our party had to change rooms because the room they were given was filthy! The surfaces had trash on them and the toilet still had human waste in it (I did not take a picture of that!). To his credit, the scattered front desk guy upgraded them to a suite. And while it was a larger space, the room itself seemed to suffer from a lack of basic upkeep. The walls showed scuffs and areas with non matching paint. The paint around various fixtures was peeling. And there were stains visible on the carpet. In my own room I found a hair in the shower that did not match a color or curl pattern belonging to either me or my travel companion. The mattresses were extremely firm which I did not like and the pillows were exceptionally soft which I also didn't appreciate (although admittedly those are personal preferences). The layout of the lobby is cramped. The furniture is worn. The one redeeming thing about this place is the breakfast which had a good assortment of food. It's the standard (mostly) prepackaged set up. But I've seen some places that lack the variety they did so I have to give credit where credits it's due. They had bananas, oranges, coffee, tea, different flavored instant oatmeal, eggs, bacon, waffle maker, an assortment of muffins, assorted yogurt, granola, english muffins, bread for toast, and danishes.

Nasty heater/AC

This place is outdated and just plain dirty. The sheets are stained and the shower is disgusting. The front desk person at checkin was rude/disinterested. We asked for 2 beds since it was us and our kid but supposedly there wasn't one available. We did NOT be let him take a bath because of the nasty tub, and certainly did not turn on the heat because it's dusty and filthy looking. Gross. Good customer service can help overlook lots of flaws, but that's NOT what we have here. If you must, there's a fridge and microwave and some pretty photos on the walls. That's all I have. We'll find a different place to stay next time. Danville maybe?

Dirty out in open outlets- rusty - dusty grimey

Just when you thought maybe a NAME hotel Cleaned up it's act it they didn't. Pool dark needs more seating. Spa not working and out of order. Room needs updating and cleaning. Bathroom had faulty toilet and had to continually giggle handle to get water to stop running. Then the topper was at 5am when a loon down the hall in a room banging banging banging banging to get into a room for like 30 mins trying to break down door and no management comes to handle situation- it easily woke up the entire floor and sleeping kids (thanks for that). Finally an hour later when police show up and at that point I lost all interest in being there. No offer of an apology or discount or credit for the lack of security and lack of management. WILL NOT be returning

Location - it is about 15-20 minutes away from Big Boulder and Jack Frost Ski Mountain. It is near a major highway, closed by to fast food restaurants. Hugh parking lots. Check in Process - there was only one lady at the front desk and she seemed overwhelmed. While I was checking in, she had to answer the phone twice because it kept ringing. But other than that, the check in process seemed smooth. Room condition- the room SEEMED clean and neat when we first walk in, however, that wasn't really true. The bathroom door lock was broken and unable to locked, in fact, the bathroom door would open slowly if I did not slam the door closed. We were using the hairdryer for a bit and all the lights, except for the bathroom light and hallway light went off. The TV was off as well. It happened around 9 pm during our first night of stay, I called the front desk and the staff said he would come and check shortly. Waited for 30 minutes but nobody showed up. Then I walked downstairs to report the situation again and he said he would come up shortly. When he came up to the room to "check", all he did was to try to switch the light switches for a few times. The lights remained off and he said he would ask someone else to check next day morning. We stayed in the room without lights for the whole night. We would think it is just the circuit breaker issue and the problem would be resolved once he switched the circuit breaker, but he did not even try. Another gentleman came and fixed the lights. He told me that he just reset the circuit breaker. Couldn't the first staff done that to help us on the first night? Complementary Breakfast - the hot breakfast choice was very limited. The bananas were rotten. They were understaffed to replenish the food/supplies in the breakfast and everything went out during the peak breakfast time (around 8:30-9:00 am). There was no more milk in the fridge, guests had to unpack the paper plates and plastic cups, no hot water and coffee in the coffee area, trash was piled up and overflew from trash can, no enough space to accommodate all the guests. Elevator- there was only one elevator in the hotel. The elevator probably fits about 8 people, so it was always a line to go up or down during morning peak time.

The inn is beautifully decorated and does a wonderful job of preserving the town's rich history. One of my favorite touches was the collection of autographed photos throughout the entrance area, showcasing the many artists, musicians, and notable guests who have stayed here over the years. The location couldn't be better. Situated right on Broadway, you're within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, galleries, and attractions that make Jim Thorpe such a special destination. We spent hours exploring the town and loved being able to return to the inn whenever we wanted to relax. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and tastefully decorated. It featured a cozy queen-size bed, two cushioned lounge chairs perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing, and a large swivel-mounted TV with streaming capabilities. The room had a warm and inviting feel that fit perfectly with the historic atmosphere of the inn. The staff truly made our stay memorable. Everyone we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. They provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants and attractions and even supplied a handy map of Broadway highlighting all the shops and points of interest. If you're planning a visit to Jim Thorpe, I highly recommend staying here. The combination of historic charm, comfortable accommodations, outstanding service, and a prime downtown location makes this inn the perfect home base for exploring one of Pennsylvania's most beautiful towns.

(Yeah, somebody should probably make a separate Yelp listing for the golf course versus roping it…read morein with the rest of the place but, whatever. Also, like a true bad Yelper, I didn't take any pictures.) This was a while back so I sort of remember this, sort of forget a lot. What stood out is that I believe the last Tuesday of every month is $30 cash only and you need to call them to make a tee-time at that rate. I didn't set it up, my friend did, but I think that's what he said it was. Due to the possibility of rain/thunder in the forecast (that thankfully never came) the course was deserted in mid-afternoon. They let us go thirty minutes early and the round on the North Course was door to door a little over three hours which is perfect. The key before you come is to look at the below on their website as it tells you everything you need to know regardless of which course you play. www.golfsplitrock.com/course-layout The big thing I remember about this course is that most of the holes are very narrow and like seemingly every Pocono course, are lined with trees. That of course means, be straight-ish/accurate or prepare for lost ballapalooza. There is also a fair amount of what they call wetlands on most of the holes which means either be able to layup or bomb it over certain parts or else you're double screwed. I think the best thing was that due to no one being on the course, the round was very, very fast. If we wouldn't have farted around looking for balls on certain holes, this one could have been wrapped up in max three hours. Split Rock falls into that nebulous middle ground for me of Pocono Courses in that it didn't really make an impression. Nothing really outstanding just like nothing too bad. If the price were right, sure, why not.

Do not stay here. The only positive thing I can say about this "resort" is that the staff is…read morefriendly and at least handles all of the complaints from customers with grace. My parents traded their time share to stay here and reserved a two bedroom suite with two queen beds in one room and a jetted tub in the master with a king bed. Upon arrival, they were given a one bedroom with an adjoining room with twin beds and charged a $400 resort fee because there were technically two different rooms. They have never had to pay a resort fee at any other resort they've traded their time share for. That was issue number one. Later which we found out we had booked the room that was over at the willowbrook yet they put us in an entirely different room even after we complained. They said they were "looking into it" but never ended up moving us. The rooms were dirty and kitchen lacking even an oven mitt, dish towel, or even a sponge. The glasses and dishes put away were clearly dirty. So we tried to run the dishwasher, shortly after we realized it was leaking as the carpet next to and behind it was soaked. Maintenance was called and the man simply looked at it and said it wasn't leaking even after feeling the damp floor. The next day we complained again and then they sent three men to replace it with another old dishwasher likely from a different room. Also, in our entire weeks stay. I only saw one maid, once. She was vacuuming the downstairs lobby. Meanwhile, the entire second floor and on looks like it's never seen a vacuum. That was the second issue. The worst part about the entire trip was the "resort amenities" that I assumed were part of the ridiculous $400 fee...as you can see from the photos, the tiles above the pool and bowling alley were riddled with water damage and mold. One tile even fell on a man's head while swimming in the pool! I even went to the front desk to let them know that a tile had fallen into the pool in the hopes they would clean it...and the lady at the front desk just said "here are the pool hours" so I don't think she understood me. Most of the staff doesn't speak English very well though not for lack of trying and they are very nice. The hot tub literally had a layer of film on it and wasn't hot. For this reason we chose not to swim. We stayed for a whole week and by the end of the week...the tiles were still laying at the bottom of the pool. Also, the bar and the water park were closed with the exception of one day during our entire week stay. The only thing to do was go to the arcade (which obviously still cost us money) The bowling alley also had leaking ceiling tiles. They simply put a bucket under it and it was still there nearly a week later when we check out. The water park was even more disgusting than the regular pool. Not to mention half of it was closed off. This resort looks like it was once really great back when they had enough staff and money to maintain it properly. The website and pamphlets show what the resort USED to look like and are not updated. It's a shame because if they put money into repairs to restore it to its former glory, it would be a great place to stay again. This place needs new owners willing to repair it because as is, it should be HEAVILY discounted. If you're going to spend that much, go somewhere nicer and cleaner. Do not stay here. I cannot believe how much they charge with almost nothing open or working. Throughout our stay we overheard many people complaining about broken air conditioning, non working elevators, tiles falling, things not working, things not being open, and the general condition of the place. I feel bad for the employees that have to deal with all the complaints. I can only imagine how the owners treat them with how little they seem to care about customers. I'm honestly shocked they're still in business. Do better!

We stayed in Room 10 which features a king size bed and a large soaking tub. The bed was comfortable, clean, and the bathroom was sizable. We always felt like there was a lot of space to unwind and relax when we were in our room. We were offered the Fall menu when we were there. On day 1 I had the apple crumble French toast (AMAZING) and I'm not even a big French toast guy. Your table has fresh orange juice, water, and coffee/tea when you come down and get seated. Loved this. On day 2 I had the traditional breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly. The staff was friendly and accommodating - as expected from a well run B&B. We were on site for a small gathering of gamer friends and so I also tried some of their offerings in the small cafe. I tried Italian wedding soup for lunch and got several hot tea drinks. All excellent. They have a small "snack room" near the main entrance that has popcorn, and water, coffee maker, and other small amenities to make your stay more enjoyable.
