My room was spotless and during my extended stay my room was cleaned and freshened everyday. The morning breakfast was all fresh food and run by a server named Brian who kept all food fresh and full. Breakfast ended at 9:30 but he pall out until 10:00 am for late comers. Check in person decided to give us one bag with one bottle of water and placed 2 snacks in the bag. That was not very considerate at all. So she was basically conserving the inexpensive small bottle of water ? Restaurant staff is efficient and friendly and the hotel is nicely furnished. The lights over the sink did not work and there was a sign saying they were remodeling. It appeared that there is a mold problem in the whole hotel and very noticeable in the lobby. read more

I don't know about the high ratings because IMO, this place needs help! My biggest complaint is it's just not very clean. I walked around the room in my socks before going to bed and they turned from white to dark grey pretty quickly. I did tell the desk clerk who said she'd make sure the rug was shampooed. I hope so, because it seriously needs it! I'm not a clean freak or a neatnik, but the room was pretty dusty and there was even hair on the sink counter. Decent hotel; just needed to stay the night as our campground got rained out. It was a good price for what was offered. A little outdated but nothing bad for a one night stay. My family and I have stayed here many times through the years. Every time has been a good experience. The place may look a little dated in the rooms but they're clean and comfortable. We travel in a group and look for places with adjoining rooms, which this comfort inn has. The people working the desk are very helpful. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel. We've eaten there once. It was average food. This room is where they serve the free breakfast in the morning which is awesome! Plenty of beverages to choose from, fruit, yogurt, eggs, meats, waffles, muffins, doughnuts, oatmeal and other things. Definitely a nice selection. Really I would say 3 1/2 but the front desk was helpful and lady was nice so it wasn't a bad experience I missed continental breakfast by a few cause I wanted to sleep in. But speaking of sleeping in I was coming from an event night before and got back late. I was hoping to sleep until almost check out before we had to drive about two hours back. Around 7-7:30am I hear one knock and she said housekeeping and then immediately opened door and came in room. I was pretty much asleep and she left but then an hour later she came back and knocked again. I finally said we need more time but I don't get it We should not be bothered until check out. Especially not 7am. Besides that it's a good rate and good location m. Pros: Pet friendly and only charge a one-time $15 fee for up to two pets for the duration of the stay. That is a VERY generous policy. Workers were all very friendly and smiled every time we walked in. The breakfast attendant (this was during COVID) was fantastic, friendly, and gave us lots of snacks. Her name was Ragina and we were sad she wasn't there on our last day. Our first floor room was surprisingly quiet. When there were kids running down the hall, the hotel workers immediately addressed the issue. Free coffee and tea in the lobby was really nice. Great location for us to do some hiking in the mountains and visit Jim Thorpe. There's a restaurant on site but we didn't go there. They did offer room service and their menu was salads and fried food only. Plenty of parking and some green space to walk the dogs (no dog run though). Decent sized mini fridge and microwave were great to have! We stayed Memorial Weekend 2021. Cons: None. The price you pay for a nice, clean, quiet room with a very generous pet policy was a bargain. read more

I have stayed in the now Choice hotel line for 15 years, Comfort Inn mostly. This is, by a long shot the worst fake Comfort Inn. The first room 230 was dirty. Carpet wasn't vacuumed well. There were finger prints on the faucet, blonde hair on the couch, glitter on the couch just gross. I moved rooms, but this room smells...has that funky hotel room smell with whatever it is they spray. This was room 247. Where do i begin. The wall was so thin that my bed moved when the bed in the next room moved. I could hear everything from the next room, gross, don't ask. I had to unplug the window unit to figure out where the commotion was coming from, and found an electrical box without a cover on the carpet, under the unit, i gladly plugged it back in.. Later, the refrigerator was making so much noise I unplugged it since I was not using it. The TV has no tv guide and the room has zero information that you usually see in the room about local info-maybe just a covid thing, but the programming was all old tv shows... The toilet seat had been spray painted instead of replaced. The plug for the hair dryer had some unspeakable filth on it. Then the grand finale, i happened to glance up and noticed a plastic bag was wrapped around the smoke detector in order to disable it. I smelled smoke at the far end of the corridor and the knucklehead nextdoor down from me were smoking pot that I smelled the next morning.This was just an awful night with my neighbor playing music all night until 530am. I could not call the front desk because the phone in the room was not working. If there was a fire, the smoke detector might not sense it and I would not be able to call the front deskanyway. I am skiing at Jack Frost in the morning and it cannot come too soon. I have stayed in comfort inns during covid, and i have seen great lengths they would go through to clean surfaces and protect their clients. This seems like it was a much cheaper hotel that now has a choice hotel wrapper, but falls far short of Choice Hotel quality. People at the desk are super nice. Breakfast to go bags were good! I suggest looking at pictures of the next Comfort Inn you plan to stay. The real Comfort Inns look a certain way, inside and out......this one did not, and I didn't check first. The comfort inns 20 min before and after this one appeared to be much nicer. read more

Nothing about this hotel gives any guest confidence that we are safe staying here during a pandemic. While signage states a mask is required, and Pennsylvania requires masks, not one guest out of twenty wore one inside the hotel after check in. It was outrageous that the room cleaning staff also wore no masks, and got in an out of the tiny elevator without any kind of protection on. How could we have any confidence that the room was disinfected when the staff wouldn't mask up? I was very afraid to take the elevator, so we took stairs. I found a huge pair of men's underwear in the room before we checked out - disgusting. Just the worst experience ever....we didn't choose to stay here, our rental car broke down nearby, so we had to get a room at this horrible hotel. Don't go there. Period. When I complained to the corporate office, they gave me a 25% discount on my bill. Not real useful if I die from Covid, is it? read more

Stayed here on a "date night" and booked a room with a jacuzzi for just over $100 for the night. It's actually a huge tub/shower with built-in water jets. Hotel is clean inside and out, staff is super friendly, hotel conveniently located. Room was clean as well. TV with plenty of stations, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker. In-wall heating/AC worked well and was quiet Bathroom amenities were ample. This room had the sink separate from the bathroom/toilet. Hotel also has a lounge with a wide variety of beers and liquor, reasonably priced. Complimentary breakfast features self-serve hot and cold breakfast items. This particular hotel is quite comparable to a Holiday Inn or a Hampton Inn. read more

I was stared down by their maintenance man who had 2 different conversations about the shower nozzle he replaced in my room , while Cassandra (front desk attendant ) and the assistant GM Pam Y ignored me and when I asked to speak to her she immediately spoke down to me and cut me off !! All the while never asking the maintenance man not to STARE ME DOWN in a confrontational way !!! But the trio of them have the same problem their answer is not customer service friendly or good hospitality it's standoffish and confrontational !!! Called corporate they are horrible staff in the am stay away !! Mt situation could of escalated quickly had I not left the lobby immediately !! And as far as Covid 19 related they are never wearing masks and gave me a room with out a working shower ( the maintenance man said to turn it on with my long nails ) I had to have him in my room/ bathroom which was unsettling ! This humble lodge earned a bookmark for our south-north journeys. It is an older structure than I am used to seeing under this corporate flag, and the design therefore suggests a higher level of service and accommodation than I was expecting. Carpets, walls, etc., showed their age, but the place was clean and nicely appointed. The rooms were surprisingly large and well furnished, and had high-def tv. The biggest plus for me was the full-service restaurant and lounge. I'm surprised there are so many high ratings for this Comfort Inn. The room was not comfortable or clean. There was so much pet hair on the sheets it almost made me feel like they weren't changed or cleaned. I was staying in a non-smoking room but it still smelt like smoke. The bed was advertised as a queen but definitely did not feel like it and wasn't very comfortable for 2 adults (this was the only room available for the dates we needed). There was toothpaste in the sink from previous people and the pillows were very deflated. We tried not to touch anything we didn't have too so we did not use the coffee maker, fridge, microwave, tv... nothing. The pros were the AC was working so the room was cool, ample parking and good location to gas stations and restaurants. I must have called up to 10 hotels with this being the only option with a room even available so we were cornered to choose here. read more

This Comfort Inn redefines the brand, usually they're pretty much a dump or at the very least kinda crappy. This location is clean, modern and the front desk staff "Sara" was very friendly, knowledgeable and glad to help. As far as the aesthetics I rate her an "8.1"-"8.75" (but it's possible some guys could possibly say "9", not too shabby!). Oh yeah, back to the hotel. I was in one of the "king rooms" (not the "whirlpool king" which is the top-of-the-line at that property) I actually did inquire as to how many levels of room and there were four. Not really much else to report really other than I feel the value is excellent and they are doing renovations to make it even better. I am seriously impressed with this Comfort Inn they're not usually this nice, glad to see they are doing a better job with more pride in their brand. I really wonder if these hotel chains know how important it is to have every single hotel up to par to build the brand. It seems like with Trump in office there's kind of a resurgence in wanting to spruce up the country and it shows at this property. Man!! Where do I start? First- THIS Location will almost immediately jump up to one of the BEST Suites that I have stayed at& you know this is what I do after delivering freight to that city!!! Let me tell you this- the rooms are extremely large& very clean!!! Would you believe there is a Jacuzzi in the bathroom shower? Yes!! That's correct!!! Second- THE T.V.& CABLE selection is Second to NO ONE!!! there are actually 3 pages of cable channels to select from all on a Nice Flat Screen TV that swivels!!! Next I must give Props to the receptions staff!!! They were Very Courteous & Professional in placing me in my room for the weekend!!!( Big Ups to Amanda!!!) Also equipped with fridge&micro-iron & iron board.. coffee maker& enough mirrors to look at yourself in every possible angle!!! Lastly the bed!!! SO comfortable that I didn't want to get out of it!!! I wish I had it inside My Truck!!! I normally stay at a different hotel when I go to visit my daughter at Penn State, Comfort Inn leaves alot to be desired. The bathrooms are very small, the hallways had an unpleasant smell. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. What disappointed me is when we checked out, the front desk person didnt bother to ask how we enjoyed our stay. She didnt give me a receipt or even ask if I wanted one. I enjoy a friendly, attentive front desk staff. That is a very important part of customer service. read more

Had a long drive back to MA from VA with my sister and two dogs. We got a great rate, lovely room that was clean and large and very comfortable! I am a Quality Inn gold member so maybe that helped The desk staff was great, especially Aaron and Daniel! They even held my dogs so I could go in the bar for a drink. We went to the restaurant about 6pm and both ordered the meatloaf special. We were told there was only 1 serving left although another was in the oven. We thought that was a bit silly, besides my sister and I, there were only 2 other people. We shared the meatloaf special with salads and had plenty. Then later in the evening I went to the bar to get a drink to take upstairs. It was PACKED! I guess this is the happening place in town, I was surprised! We had a great stay! read more

As I was driving from Georgia back to Massachusetts, I stopped here. I found it on a hotel app and was a cheap room. I went there and asked about the deal to see if I could get it without filling out the app stuff. The lady said I could get a better deal as a AAA member (which I am). It was clean and looked okay. Got the job done for a 30 year old male. There was a funny smell but besides that it wasn't bad. Nothing made it more special than anywhere else I have stayed. Best affordable rust-belt hotel breakfast ever. Why? Two words. Real eggs. Okay, they were disc-shaped and piled in one of those shiny flip-top happy hour style warmers that usually contains a sort of reconstituted yellow avian pablum, but at *this* Comfort Inn there was an identifiable yolk and an identifiable egg white, and that makes me happy. Also, when I asked the attendant if she had any hot sauce, she found sriracha for me. So I made an egg and sausage sandwich on wheat toast with cream cheese and sriracha. Beat that, Denny's! Plus, they had granola. And the coffee was good. And the room was good, though perhaps not LaQuinta good, and it's a similar price. I'll rate this experience just shy of five stars but round up. Why? Because when you've been trying to keep two pets happy in a Subaru for fifteen hours, make it sixteen because Hagerstown was weirdly all booked up on a Wednesday night, and then you find a decent pet-friendly hotel with a vacancy at one am, you get reeeeal grateful. We mostly stay at Comfort Inn when we travel and we liked this one as one of the best. Great counter people got us in in a few minutes. Saw them handle a grumpy customer very well. Stay away from this hotel. Poor customer and incompetent Management and staff. Used to stay here on regular basis due to family in area. Got new mgmt and has gone downhill. Booked room on July 8th for 2 rooms on the 12th and 13th as we had to get there for an urgent family health issue. Never got confirmation from them so called night before we left to confirm reservation and they had no record of my reservation!! All other hotels in area booked and we had to scramble to find one ultimately 20-30 minutes away! I was concerned because I gave my credit card number to someone to hold my room. On the 20th I ended up with a charge to my credit card for both rooms for both nights at a much higher rate then initially quoted plus an additional charge for $150 for God knows what! Found out they booked my room for the wrong weekend. Had I got a confirmation I would have caught that. Was told they could not do anything and I would need to speak to the owner who would not be in for a couple days! I left manager a message to call me after the 1st incident and got no return call. In the meantime they have $660.00 of my money. Any pro-active, competent Owner/Manager would be calling back immediately and checking messages all day long! A family member also stayed there several months ago with a horrible experience. Room with hot tub smelled moldy and tub dirty with ring around it. Read an ad in the local newspaper that they had 9oz lobster tails. It turns out to be three 3oz tails. Did someone say crawfish? The waitress was good but too talkative. There was only one other couple there on a Saturday night. That should have raised a flag. My wife had to keep her coat on as there was little heat. We passed on the tails and ordered from the menu. Unfortunately both of our entrees were nothing to write home about, but something to yelp about. read more
