I grew up visiting these type of restaurants in Taiwan since Buddhism is the major religion in Taiwan and my mom used to only be on plant-based diet. The highlight is the sauce - despite it being no meat, the protein substitutes such as tofu and seitan can still deliver a protein-packed meal. The heavy use of mushrooms for the meaty texture brings out the umami flavor that I am deeply obsessed with. We ordered: - mushroom dry pot (11/10 - heavenly, need to get if you love mushrooms) - stir fry veggies cabbage dish (half portion) really delicious The portion sizes are big for some dishes, so just ask the waiter if you can do half portion sizes. The order device has photos for almost every dish which is really nice if you're a visual eater. If you are vegetarian, this place is a must for you to visit! It's delicious and healthy. There were no wait time when we came for lunch and the service was efficient. The restaurant is clean and when we went it was during Lunar New Year so we actually had a Lion dance group came in to give everyone blessing! What a memorable moment that was, They also have a mini store downstairs to buy some of the frozen items and ingredients you can take home to cook.

The menu is a bit difficult to understand for English speakers so the waitress was kind enough to help us order what we were looking for. We got the ginger chicken, dried string beans and steamed dumplings. We didn't know until the food came that it was vegan chicken but it was delicious nonetheless! The place is very clean and peaceful and the servers give a nice hot pot of tea to drink and watermelon to end the meal. Really enjoyed my visit! :) thank you

I purchased a small Jerk chicken dinner with rice & peas, steamed cabbage and a side of festival (3 comes in the order) First of all, the portion for a small is a lot (I couldn't finish it). The jerk chicken is well seasoned and juicy, rice & peas and cabbage equally delicious and not hard at all. I loved the festival, soft and delicious. The staff is very nice and welcoming. This establishment is a take-out restaurant and I was there around 2:30pm (Thursday) and there was a line but it moves quickly. There are 2 locations, the other is in Queens. If you're looking for some delicious food, I highly suggest you make your way to Yaad Man Thing. Tell them I sent you. Enjoy!

It is a must try to understand why! The lobster and conch is cooked to order, so you may want to call ahead to avoid waiting too long. I also ordered plantains and a festival - both done well, but be prepared for small servings of both sides. This vibrant place is more like a pick up and go, so don't come here expecting to dine in. The service is normally what you experience at most Caribbean spots - place your order, pay, wait and you're on your way. Nothing epic - you're here for the food! So, if you are in Brooklyn and interested in taking some Jamaican food to go, this is a great spot to try!

She was IRATE at my request and nastily said whatever. The server was sweet and still served me plain tacos. I told her I wanted the ingredients in the sign and she happily fixed it up. She boosted the rating up to .5. I DID NOT EVER HAVE A SPICY CHOP CHEESE until them. It was so spicy I couldn't eat it yall. I've been eating chop cheese from borough to borough, state to state and this was the worst of them. Waste of $20 and in the garbage it went. No thumbs up. Will not return. Would not recommend ! We went on a Saturday in February around 7pm and it was crowded. Like yelling-across-the-table crowded. Plastic disposable cups, paper napkins, a big water pitcher just sitting on the table. Very casual. Very no nonsense. Honestly, you just lean into it. We started with the fried calamari and got both the medium and hot marinara sauces. The sauce is really the star. Spicy, garlicky, so good in the best way. We also ordered baked clams, which were delicious and somehow the only thing I managed to take a picture of before digging in. That never happens. My father-in-law had the scungilli over linguini and said it was great. I had linguini with clam sauce and it was exactly what I wanted. It was not "too soupy" if that makes sense lol. Simple, briny, comforting. My husband got chicken parm with linguini and completely cleaned his plate. Our waitress was friendly, just very busy because the place was packed. You can tell they're used to the chaos. There's a parking garage right across the street which makes life easier. And it's right by the water, which makes me want to go back in the summer and walk around and really enjoy the area. If you're okay with loud and very casual, this is your spot. Good food, big portions, no fuss. I'd definitely go back!

It's a cute place, nothing fancy but a place you really can come hang out any day of the week. If I lived in the area I could see my myself ending up here any day of the week. I guess that's why when I went with fellow Yelper Sara L she said she has gone many times and wanted to take me since she knew I would enjoy it. The food: Gebackene Champignons- Fried Mushrooms- OK to preface they are kinda plain and boring the first few pieces. But the more I ate it the more I was like wow, these are actually good and kinda addictive. I enjoyed these and I enjoyed they gave a nice big portion. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=wXMnSOv4x6gNG-gHh3t40Q Potato Latkes- These were on the specials page and they were good, nice crunchy and fried well but these were mixed with something since the taste was a bit different and the color wasn't that nice golden brown color you associate with latkes. Goulash- This was a dish George had and honestly, they were amazing. Highly recommend. I thought the flavor but more importantly the texture was amazing. A lot of times when you have slow cooked beef, they could sometimes get stringy and chewy, no not here. Also the spätzle was a really great pairing. Mussels- These were some fat ass mussels. The flavor of them was good, the night I went they were spicyyyyyyy. This was a well made dish and i appreciate their creativeity but I do prefer a simple garlic shallot butter and white wine where I want to drink the broth afterwards. The broth on this was too spicy too drink. Roasted Boneless Pork Chop- Pork chops are always a gamble and the one here was just OK. The sauce it came in was nice, kind on the heavy side but a delcious cream sauce. The pork was cut super thin and unfortunely they came out dry and chewy. The fries were a nice shoestring fry which were nice and crunchy. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=14_-Katrn9Glu-wA65-CHg
