Don't know what the STORY is with Chino, but it looks like he's not on the WEST SIDE anymore.

So the secret's finally out. After Chino killed Tony, and Maria wanted nothing more to do with him, he went on the lam and opened up this little deli. Clearly, he's not the brightest crayon in the box, what with him naming the place after himself and all... I can see why Maria went for Tony instead... And yet, it's hard to imagine this corner without this spot: For starters the middle and high schoolers from nearby Brooklyn Prospect would be bereft without the Egg & Cheese Sandwiches from here to start their day as they head to school. In fact, it's a tween' n teen hangout, thanks in part to its decent Takis, aka tube-shaped corn chips selection, and a small "outdoor patio," a phrase I use very loosely, with some seating. My kid is a huge fan of the Times Square Sandwich, which includes Roast Beef AND Bacon. It's surprisingly not bad at all. I am far less enamored of the Blue Buffalo, a lackluster Buffalo Chicken Sandwich that disappoints in terms of real blue cheese flavor. Should you want a beer to wash down your Sammie, they've got your covered here, with a selection that goes beyond Miller & Bud. Have also heard the coffee is good, but am pretty dubious about that one. Bottom line is this place is an unsung neighborhood institution. Though frankly, am surprised Chino isn't singing about it.:)

They also serve a classic chopped cheese as well as tamales. Good selection of drinks and snacks, as well as a deli selection.

I can't understand why they charge 3.75 for the same egg and cheese that is 2.50 anywhere else in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan

Great place to get lunch and coffee, but building gets cramped when there are a lot of people there.

The original name was called laurose and tuna salad chopping has been happening for over four decades. My fort green family really know what it is. My cousin and I stopped by yesterday and picked up a couple of heroes. I had to get my beef salami and 3 pepper colby jack cheese, extra mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles, on a whole wheat hero (10.99) . Much love to a family staple for years. Definitely a place for you to pick up a sandwich that won't break the bank.

I waited for about 45 minutes, while waiting I picked up my chips and a white peach ginger ale. I also talked to the girl in front and she explained that you can get your sandwhich on a hero or roll. I ordered a chopped honey turkey with onions, pickles, lettuce and mayo. The guy who made my sandwich was soo friendly and patient. I just put my trust in him to hook it up lol. He also asked if I wanted to add the chips and I did. Overall my sandwhich was better the next day after it firmed up. The flavor was good but the texture was soft, mushy and just not what I want in a turkey sandwhich. It ran me about 12.00 and it was worth the experience.

If that's not the most Brooklyn thing ever, I don't know what is. Same sandwiches, different blessing. Everybody says order the pastrami, so I listened like a grown man should. Pastrami on rye with spicy mustard absolutely slapped. Smoky, juicy, perfectly stacked, and messy enough to ruin your shirt with honor. Then came the beef brisket on rye with a cup of au jus for dipping... and brother, that dip should be studied by scientists. Pure perfection. Washed everything down with a Dr. Brown's root beer like it was 1957. No fake trendy nonsense. No deconstructed sandwiches. Just old-school deli greatness that punches you directly in the soul. Great food doesn't care where you come from -- it just brings everybody to the same table. That's New York. That's Brooklyn.

I went with two friends so were able to try three different sandwiches and to be honest, they were all just alright. The food: Roast Pork Special- Fried Eggplant, Provolone, Broccoli Rob- The texture of the pork came off a bit dry, the eggplant was good but kinda gets lost in the sandwich so if I literally had it on it's own I would have appreciated it more but who eats fried eggplant by itself? The rob was nice it added a nice crunch but didn't offer that much flavor. Giuseppe Special- Eggplant parm, meatballs, melted mozzarella. I couldn't get over how soggy the bread was. It was like wet paper towel to me. Soggy bread and everything kinda tasting the same made it underwhelming. Nicky Special- It just tasted like salad in between bread. There was so much veg, that was the main thing I remember in that sandwich.
