I did an extended stay at this Comfort Suites. The staff were super friendly, great to work with and were extremely helpful. The room itself was clean and very spacious. Felt closer to home rather than another hotel room. It's not far from Bristol and isn't bad on the price at all. Abingdon punches above its weight in restaurants but I struggled to find a decent hotel. On the plus side, this one was located close to the higher education center, and was far enough from the highway that noise was not a huge issue. It was a dated building with AC that kind of did the job, if loudly. The suite I was given was quite large and had a jacuzzi tub. There were some cleanliness issues that weren't huge but weren't a great sign either. I will say that they had a small business center that was clutch, but a modest breakfast that I skipped. read more

We stayed here one night. The room was large and well appointed. The bathroom had large shower.Dove products-lotion and hand soap by the sink and shampoo, Conditioner and body wash in the shower. We had a king room with a nice sitting area. A drawback was feather pillows on the bed. The bed was comfortable and there were also regular pillows. There is a shelf in the hallway that had drips of coffee forms prior guest. The room was fairly clean otherwise. The lobby is clean with nice sitting areas. The breakfast was excellent. Sausage Patties and links, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, pastries, waffle maker, fruit, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal and more. The hotel is located just off I81 and easy to get in and out. The owners should spend some money on renovations. It's really gone downhill since we stayed there a few years ago. Dirty floors under the bathroom sink, filthy pee-stained comforter, rusty and peeling fixtures in bathroom, just to name a few horrible things that we encountered there. read more

My husband has Muscular Dystrophy and nearly got injured trying to use flimsy shower chair. He couldn't take a shower in this "handicapped' room. When we checked in, I started sneezing and used a whole role of paper blowing my nose for two hours. Must have been mold in the AC unit. We told the manager about this situation when we checked out and he offered nothing in the way of a credit, which we thought to be disgraceful. We wouldn't stay in a Comfort Suites again in a fit. read more

u won't get any sleep if you get stuck near the mechanical room. The compressor will wake you up during the night. Try to avoid room 124 and second floor above. Horrible noises. The hotel was sold out the first night and I thought the noise was coming from outside. I called the front desk and asked about it. He said that he would go out and check. Called him back, said he didn't find anything. Second night, strange noise again woke me. Last night, I found there was a mechanical room just off of the hallway. I called the front desk again, talked to the same guy, told him the noise was coming from the mechanical room. He said "Oh, it must be the compressor", like he had no idea it was so loud?? Manager said she could only compensate me $48......so lose of sleep is only worth that much?? read more

Don't hesitate to stop here and stay! Pool is open until midnight and they serve a solid hot breakfast! Military discount offered and was CHEAPER than cheap tickets! Melinda was the hospitality associate behind the counter and she was phenomenal! Gave a spot on dinner recommendation for us (JJ'S restuarant & sports bar). The hotel room was exceptionally clean and updated! Breakfast had everything you could want but most importantly great service there as well. Lynn, was restocking all the food and even cooked extra crispy bacon in the back for our kids!!!! She didn't stop moving the entire time we were there and smiled the whole time. I've stayed here twice and would stay again if I were in town. Room was nice, the staff was very friendly. The pool is definitely on the small (ok, tiny) side. There's also an outdoor one, but it was closed in November when we were there. We had the double queen. It was large, comfortable and quiet. The temperature was easily set and stayed there. Good TV with ease to watch. The bathroom was reasonably big and well layed out. I was REALLY annoyed when the wake up call came at 4:45am. Unfortunately, we didn't ask for one. I only wonder who was more irritated. Us for waking up or some other poor slob for not getting it. I wonder if they missed a flight or something. If you are going for the free breakfast, don't. It was NOT worth the extra anything. The pastries are all in plastic wrap, the sausage would make my dog puke (he would eat anything), the waffle maker was burning everything and I felt sorry for the poor breakfast staff person who had to nurse everything because it was so cheap it wanted to destroy itself/someone. The alarm wasn't anyone's fault, the room was great, kids loved the pool (size and all) and the food was good for them. I'd stay again. read more

We stayed 3 nights and here are the negatives.....1. While we were sitting on the sofa watching tv in the evening a couple opened our door and started to come in but realized they were given the wrong room or wrong key or something and closed the door. When I called the front desk I was told that we were supposed to have been given the room above the one we were in and the couple was mistakenly given the key code for our room. Glad they weren't serial killers. 2. Wish the tv had a swivel mount so it could be turned toward the sofa while watching. Our necks got sore. 3. They have WiFi but it's touch and go-sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. 4. The mattress is VERY soft-not bad if you like it that way. 5. Had to get both keys rekeyed on the second day. On the third day one worked and the other one didn't but we were still able to get into the room. 6. No place to put your soap, shampoo, etc. in the shower except on the floor of the shower. 7. The folks in the room above us sounded like elephants were walking around up there. Had to call the office the second night around 11:00p to see if they could call and ask them to walk a little gentler. The office staff must have called them because they were much quieter afterwards so many thanks to the staff. Didn't call the first night but they were making the same amount of noise then too but thought they might check out the second morning-they didn't. The positives were...1. The staff were very nice and accommodating 2. It was a good location next to interstate and very close to the Moonlight Drive In where the Barter Theater plays are being presented(highly recommend them!) 3. Room appeared very clean 4. Microwave and refrigerator worked and were clean 5. Updated plug ins for your cell phones and iPads. 6. Room was spacious but wish it had a table with a couple chairs. read more

Upon checking in the gentleman at the front desk checked me in rather quickly. When I asked him how late the hot tub and pool were opened till (considering its 11:45 pm) he said he would keep it open longer for us since we just got in from the Bristol race and my ankles wrre really swollen and needed hot water. Let me tell ya. The hot tub is Awesome!!! It was soooo hot. It was wonderful.. The suite, room 342, was a nice size. Very soft and comfy beds, nice pillows, good size bathroom. Extra couch bed. Very nice. It fit our needs perfectly. We did NOT get woke up by the maids which is a plus in our book. Would definetly stay here again when I go to the race. Highly recommended!! read more

Decent motel. Clean, quiet, breakfast good. I like that room windows open for fresh air (which is getting harder to come by these days). My rating would have been a solid 4 stars had it not been for the small gym. This was hands down the most disgusting gym I have worked out in for quite some time. I travel once a month. Equipment was dirty. Floor covered in sweat. No Clorox wipes to clean machines. Water cooler out of cups. Two towels on rack. I could go on. Very disappointing. read more

Our room was poorly cleaned(bugs,scuff marks, dirt), although our beds were comfortable after a stressful day, as well as the cleanest part of the room. There were flat screen tv's, but low definition. We stayed in room 152. Thank you for looking at this, I hope it helped! read more

Check in was easy and very friendly. Room was nice and clean. My husband and I were passing through Abingdon on our way to Baltimore from Nashville and I'm glad we stopped. Had fun at a farmers market a mile or two up the street. I will say the hot breakfast was not so great, but everything else was wonderful. read more

We stopped here on a trip through the area. We read previous reviews which were mixed, prior to staying. Unfortunately, our experience concurs with the more negative. Furnishings are dated and well worn. Stains on couch. Numerous scratches and chips on the outdated furnishings. Lighting was dim. Although the carpet was nice, once morning light arrived, it was obvious only a half hearted effort was given to cleaning it, as dust and debris were easily seen along the edges of walls. As previous reviews have posted, we found spiders, flies and ants in our room. Although it is easy to understand a fly or ant gaining access to the room after they've been cleaned, I don't believe this is the case here, because the spiders have been here a while and appear to have settled in for the long haul. I found webs from ceiling to curtain, from sprinkler to ceiling and lots around the a/c unit and corners of room near furniture. I will post pictures. The next time we are passing by, we will definitely pass by this hotel. There are far too many in the vicinity to pay $100+ for these accommodations. My recommendation is that other travelers do the same, until which time upgrades and housekeeping training can be done here. read more

We were in the area with a group of softball players for state tournament and all of families stayed here for minimum of 4 nights. Staff was wonderful, kids loved the pool, nice accommodations, beautiful location, close to lots of stuff. Would stay again definitely! read more
