Carpets outside are dirty. Room is clean. Price is decent. My complaint is the very strong chemical smell. I don't think it's a spill in the room since you can smell it as soon as you walk in building. read more

When we walked in the room it smelled horrible. Everyone was gagging. We sprayed perfume and it didn't take the smell away. It was a horrible smell. We opened up the couch that that goes into a bed and it had stains all over it. We had the lady from the front desk come down to see the bed and smell the room. She was very nice but couldn't do anything to help us. The next morning July 24th 2022 we went down to talk to the manager. She was extremely rude. She acted like she was above us and that we were lying. She wouldn't even go look at the room. She gave us a very small discount. My cousin owns Comfort Inn's and has to meet standards. This Comfort Inn didn't meet these standards. The room charge was $350.00 for one night and I wouldn't of stayed in that room for free. read more

Second stay in as many years and this hotel is going downhill fast. Way overpriced, paid $400 for a Saturday/Sunday stay in a filthy, run down room. Mold in the bathroom. Not sure what was on the alarm clock, can only assume it's possibly 'snot'. Will not stay here ever again. read more

Traveling in for 1 night for a CCU move out, I wanted a hotel nearest to the university that was walkable & set back off of 501 so the traffic didn't keep me up all night. The comfort suites definitely checked all the boxes. A very pleasant woman - Imelvi - checked me in, we managed to end up talking about prom dresses b/c I'd complimented her about her nails and shared a recent issue our daughter had with prom nails... I checked in VERY early, but she was able to get me in to a room so I could go grab lunch with our son & walk over to the disc golf course @ CCU. Later that evening - after el Patilo had a 90 minute wait & I celebrated cinqo de Mayo @ el Cook Out which is VERY conveniently located next door (& theu actually had quesadillas!) I headed back to the Comfort Suites only to hear a knucklehead tourist being very demanding on another very polite associate named Tasha. He said or yes every discount under the Sun & wasn't afraid to let it be heard (he was so loud I heard him outside before I even entered the hotel). I stepped to the left & called the front desk in an attempt to "lighten" the tense situation a bit. When I called the front desk Tasha answered - I explained who I was and that it was very disrespectful for the way that knucklehead was as treating her & handling himself - but to my surprise, Tasha told me I'd have to wait as she had guests @ the desk she needed to take care of - without batting an eyelash, she said need our call and continued to handle the rude tourist with grace & mercy. She was DEFINITELY earning a "10" for her customer service despite the email ridiculous interaction she was engaged in. Will most DEFINITELY stay here again, even though the price was a little high, the customer service, great room & hot breakfast made the experience way worth the money. This Hotel appeared like it had not been updated in many many years. My room looked and smelled like it had not been cleaned in a long while. There was even stains on the furniture as well as crumbs on the desk. The bathroom only had one set of towels. I asked the front desk for additional towels that were never sent. I also asked if the rooms would be cleaned because of the current COVID situation and was assured they would be. We returned to beds made. However again only one set of clean towels for three people in the room. The breakfast bar was lacking. It was all defrosted food that you needed to microwave. Not even any bread or English muffins to toast. Even the muffins were frozen and defrosted. Nothing was fresh. Hotel was horrible. Definitely not worth the money. I would not recommend it to anyone nor would I ever stay here again. read more

My sister and I checked into the hotel and stayed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday, I saw cockroaches in both rooms. Saturday there was a centipede in the bathroom by the bathtub. I complained to management and 1 room was sprayed by maintenance in the morning. The other room wasn't because my sister was sleeping. Later, my sister asked that her room be sprayed, however maintenance was gone for the day. Josh, front desk receptionist, allegedly sprayed himself. We asked to be moved to different rooms, however Josh indicated that the hotel was at maximum capacity. I asked to speak to the manager, Josh indicated that the manager was not there, but would be the following day. Since I was unsatisfied I asked Josh to have the General Manager call me. He REFUSED. I called Customer Service and spoke to a Supervisor who called Josh and Josh still REFUSED to have the manager call me. The total amount of both rooms was over $1200. I spoke to the manager today 5/31/21. Lisa indicated that she would give a discount of $49 for the hotel for one room but not the other. Her reasoning was that she wasn't notified about the roach. The District Manager was supposed to call me but never did. Stay away from this hotel unless you want to sleep with bugs or bring your own bug spray to exterminate. read more

Happy to see tons of signage regarding the mask mandate on entry doors and elevators, but NO ONE is wearing them! Not even the desk clerk! Also shower doesn't drain, so that's gross, but I don't want an unmasked maintenance man coming in to fix it. read more

BED BUGS! Room 230. Check-out date was 5/18/19. My 2-year old went to bed and woke up with swollen welts along his arm. I showed the lesions to the front desk agent and spoke with the hotel manager who was sent a picture of the bites and claimed they looked like fire ant bites. I asked how she thought he got bitten by fire ants in their hotel during the middle of the night, and so she then said they must be mosquito bites. I offered pictures that were taken of my son just prior to him going to bed that obviously showed his arm lesion-free. She claimed that the housekeeper inspected the room and found no bed bugs so it couldn't have been bed bugs so that was that. I will never stay at another Choice hotel again. read more

Im not one to write bad reviews , but this one is on the bad list. First I want to talk about the employees, they are down to earth people and did what they could to help me but at the end of the day it's the hotel that's just not working out. I stayed only one night and I expected better especially for the price. I killed TWO cockroaches. One was found tucked in the u touched towels. Shit freaked me out ! And then one in the shower which was a baby one but still it's gross. Besides the roaches, we couldn't get in our room 4 times ! The card didn't scan green, maintenance changed the battery and still it didn't work. I even saw the cleaners struggle like 20 times to open the damn doors, that weren't my room so I guess it's "normal " lol. To end this note, I DO NOT RECOMMEND if your traveling and trying to treat yourself. It's not worth it. The room is dirty and bathtub is dirty and it smells. Just plain disappointment. Never staying here again. Wish I took pictures but I was trying to stay on the streets because I didn't want to spend a lot of time at the hotel. It was that gross honestly /:. Clean beds; clean sheets; clean bathrooms. Realistically, all of the major boxes you look for in a hotel are checked off here. On top of that, the service was awesome. KeKe, who helped my friends & I reserve rooms right next each other, was amazing. These older reviews are outdated, and bear no resemblance to what you get now. If you're in town visiting someone at Coastal, or even just a place to stay for the night, i 10/10 recommend. read more

Stayed here one night during a vacation in the Myrtle Beach area. Our room and bathroom were clean (the most important thing!) and fairly comfortable for this class of hotel. The free breakfast was a nice convenience. They had sausage, eggs, and waffles, in addition to the standard cold items (cereal, selection of breads, juice, fruit, etc). Nothing too exciting, but free and convenient was good enough for our visit. I also had occasion to use the business center. I really appreciated that I could get online and print something I needed for free. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. read more

I made this reservation several weeks in advance. I told them that I would be a late arrival and was assured that it was not a problem. After travelling by plane all day from the west coast I went to check in at 9:30 PM and was told my reservation had been cancelled. They said they left a message on my voice mail at 10 AM, knowing that I would be a late arrival and would not get the message until late. There were no rooms available. I was left standing there with a 10 year old and a 1 year old with no room. Very poor service. I will never stay at a Comfort Suites again!!! And I will definitely be telling my friends and family to avoid Comfort Suites! read more
