The hotel looks nice upon first inspection and the room itself wasn't bad, pictures are accurate. Check-in was quick and painless. We stayed here on a deal for IHG so I can't complain too much for the price we paid, however; probably would t be my first choice. The cleanliness though left something to be desired. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher, dried coffee in the pot along with a used coffee pack, short and curlies in the tub and a clogged drain left me wondering if I wanted to stay. When speaking with the manager he did make things right and had the roomed cleaned and the drain cleared. There is no maid service while you are staying so don't bother. We asked to have someone come vacuum because of all the sand, sadly and not surprised they never showed. Free breakfast wasn't bad, had a good variety that would please everyone. Pool and hit tub was clean and well maintained. Basketball court was a hit with my kids (yes they have a ball you can use). Laundry room was clean and well maintained. Fitness center was just the essentials but noteworthy. Overall I won't stay there again but if you're young and have no kids needing a dry place to sleep definitely a suitable place on a budget. read more

I was a little worried when we were planning our trip after reading all the reviews; however, I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel accommodations. The hotel is a bit older, so I assume most don't take this into consideration when they write reviews, but overall it is in good shape for the price point, it was a great deal. We had a family reunion last weekend in Myrtle Beach. We were looking for a mid-range, affordable hotel that could accommodate our large group. I worked with the hotel on our block of rooms. They were wonderful. We even had a BBQ and game night in a private meeting room which was set up for us with tables, chairs, etc. to make it nice. They had it all ready for us a no additional charge. Larry and Tony were exceptional to our family. They checked in on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. The airport is just a few minutes away and the beach is less than 10 minutes away. Perfect location. We normally stay at the Marriott or Hilton which is twice the price, but for our event, the price point, and the accommodations, this was a great deal. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for an affordable option rather than staying on the beach at a much higher price. read more

So I ended up here as an IHG card carrying member. I purchased a 3 day 4 night package last year and thought, " wow this will be a nice getaway". I was never given an address and assumed it was a resort room since I was told I would do a walk through while staying there. Note: If IHG offers you this deal and you don't mind staying 14 min. away from the beach in a run down pet friendly hotel, with all the glamour of an exquisite Early American college dorm pet damaged furniture room, then this is the place for you. The pros: 1. (if you do the walk through at the resort, which is 15 miles away- you get $245 cash back unless you buy into the resort thing- which I did not- mostly because I felt that the room they provided while I stayed to view their property was a hand me-down second), 2.nice staff 3. heated outdoor pool and whirlpool, 4. free breakfast 5. A kitchenette / ok passable on cleanliness. Cons: 1.dated room, far from everything, low quality furniture and damage, 2. no bathroom vents- so heat stays trapped, 3. the heat and cooling is odd to use, 4. When we walked into our room, we walked into the bed room and the sheets were not washed, you can tell. The wash rags were dirty. I was laying down in bed and looked out the window next to my bed and saw three red spots on the wall, definitely looks like blood, we went down to show the picture of what we saw and they didn't even look and just said it was rust. that is definitely not rust, it is no where else on the building the rust in spots are lighter orange not dark red. read more

The rooms are good & clean. Staff is friendly. Gym has a treadmill which works but the elliptical & bike don't! There's some weights, a big mirror & lots of clean towels. There's free breakfast: eggs, potato, waffle maker, oatmeal, granola, yogurts, orange juice, coffee, cereal, & a variety of pastries. The location is a little out of nowhere. The mall is about 7 minutes away & the beach about a 14 minute drive. The washer & dryer are free to use. There's a bar walking distance which had some food & an open bar. read more

This was the second Staybridge we stayed in about 2 hours away from one another, same state. The first one was wonderful that's why we choose to stay in another one. Well, not all are the same. It was older, no big deal. It has stains; on the carpet, the couch, the bed, the doors had greasy fingerprints, and it smelled. We were 3 plus miles from the ocean therefore it shouldn't have smelled musty. No coffee all day, and no social hour like the others. We went there for the extra amenities. They said there was no social hour because of COVID, yet none of the staff had masks on, more were any other COVID protocols taken. It seemed like there were just cutting cost corners. We tried to cancel our second night on the first night and were told we'd be charged 2 nights no matter what. Also the fridge leaked water and didn't work well. Evening staff was also rude. Oh this hotel. It is squished between a myriad of boarded up and abandoned shopping malls. Think the first season of The Walking Dead where Glen is navigating everyone in and out of boarded up stores and through the abandoned streets. I'm not even exaggerating, not even a little. The accommodations are surprisingly standard. It looks fairly clean. Only smells marginally of leftover Prom night shame. It has a really nice outdoor pool area, even though the pool is small. Think of the season of TWD where they are all on the farm. Even though they are surrounded by death, they feel safe. Things are pretty. You think, "yeah, this might work after all." About the only thing to do here is go swimming, cause I'm fairly certain if you went for a walk around this hood you'd get offered to purchase heroin, and regardless of your answer, you'd get shanked. So here I was having a lovely peaceful swim when dude from the hotel comes out promptly at 10pm to boot the three quiet guests OUT of the pool. The pool closes at 10. It is now 10:02. I've been lenient with you guys. Now, the guy was nice in all reality, but seriously???? Had such a great stay! We were supposed to get a king sized bed but we ended up with two fulls unfortunately. Made it a little hard with my almost two year old sleeping with my fiancé and I. When we first arrived it was about 3:30 so we tried to check in early since check in is at 4. They told us our room wouldn't be ready for about another hour or so. We traveled from NC to stay here with a 23 month old and 9 month old so we were hoping to be able to check in ASAP. I was a little annoyed at the fact our room wasn't even ready at 4. Also the fact we had the wrong room was frustrating! I never said anything to the front desk as it would be hard to move everything into another room with the two little ones! I'm very picky when it comes to hotels. I'm a clean freak, I'm usually that person who brings her own sheets, pillows, and Clorox to clean the hotel. WELL, I didn't have to do that with this hotel. When I called to make reservations, I asked how far this place was from the beach and the receptionist said it was "2 minutes". It was actually a 12 minute drive! I didn't except to stay in a area with abandoned buildings and no type of view. Also, the phone and key cards do not work well or at all!!! Just had an excellent stay at this hotel last week and would definitely come back again. Pros: -The large rooms were kept immaculate and contained everything you would possibly need. -Housekeeping and reception were prompt and friendly. -Pricing was very reasonable. -Within a short driving distance to all of Myrtle Beach's attractions. -Pet friendly Cons: -The employees at the front desk adamantly attempt to sign you up for a points program at check-in. -Sinks/mirrors are separate from the bathrooms in the 1 bedroom suite -Little to no attractions/restaurants within walking distance -Poor location for scenery (across the street from an abandoned mall and the highway) Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for those who don't mind compromising a scenic view for an excellent room at a reasonable price. A great price for what you get out of the hotel. I stayed in a suite with my brother and parents, and was shocked that we had so much sleeping space: a bedroom with 2 full beds, a bedroom with a queen bed, and a living room with a pull out couch, all for $99/night. I was not impressed by the housekeeping; when we got to our room there was a used, wet washcloth in a pile by the sink, and trash in the trashcan. Gross. It made me wonder if our sheets had been changed, towels washed, etc. Breakfast was nice. Great family stay. The layout of the place was family friendly. The staff was friendly and Amy at the front desk was most pleasant and welcoming. The only issue was the Wifi. Only my husband as able to connect while the rest of family survived on my hotspot availability. The kids were able to enjoy the basketball court. The pool was nice but did not necessarily use it. Conveniently 10 minutes away from the beach and 20 minutes away from North Myrtle Beach. Would definitely stay at this location again even though it's a bit off the beaten path. We had to change rooms because of the fleas and our second room had pills on the floor and literally a pile of toe nails in the middle of the room. Don't stay here on the weekend! They won't provide towel or service to your room unless you request it by Friday, so if you check In on a Saturday and stay through Monday you get to be in filth! We had a family of 6, and were given only 8 towels for 3days/2 nights. We went to beach so of course there was sand everywhere and they won't provide bed or floor services. So the place is disgustingly filthy. We called and requested service of the room and towels and they said we had to request it on Friday but we checked in Saturday, checked out Monday. The front desk was so rude to us and would only give us 4 towels because "they didn't have anymore". Unacceptable!! read more

This place is old and dated. I wish I had read the reviews before booking. One guy said the walking dead and man was he right!!! This place is right in the middle of two abandoned malls. If you want your room clean you better request prior to 5PM on Friday. We checked in after 5 so for three days our trash and food was left in the room. Explains why there are bugs that bit you. The floor in the bedroom was so sticky. I don't understand how you run a hotel and don't have every room cleaned every single day. It's gross. We had to use the same towels everyday. I wasn't really sure what to expect with a hotel at a big beach getaway location, but I was EXTREMELY and pleasantly surprised. This was the best place I've ever stayed in my life. Not only is it beautiful inside and outside but it was extremely clean as well! It's a dog friendly hotel without breed restrictions but you wouldn't even know any dogs had stayed there because it's so clean. The staff is also extremely friendly and willing to help with anything. I had really bad stomach pains and my husband went to buy pepto from the little pantry, unfortunately they didn't have any so the woman at the front desk went into her own bag and gave him some tums for me. We stayed here for five days and although the establishment is a bit older it was very comfortable. The staff was extremely nice. They really made us feel at home. My wife and I stayed here for 5 days as we were vacationing in the area. The first two days we got back to our hotel room late in the evening due to checking out the town and the beach. On the second day of our stay while laying in bed, we noticed that the top of the comforter that was tucked underneath the sheets was blood stained and the basin of the toilet had blood stains on it as well. Needless to say we were extremely grossed out/disgusted so we brought it to the front managers attention. It was late at night so all they did was bring more sheets for us to replace the ones on the bed. The next day we brought it to the managers attention (Eric was his name) Instead of apologizing, Eric's reply was "Oh my gosh, what would you like for me to do for you? Get some one to clean it or change your room?") We were trying to get to a reservation so we opted to have them come clean our room. Luckily 3 house cleaners were sent to tend to the room and they apologized immensely for the lack of thorough cleaning. Lastly, the fruit that they served during the breakfast time was moldy two days in a row so I refused to eat there at all. If I could give less than one star I would, Is it too obvious to state that we won't be staying here again... This location is a disgrace to the Staybridge Suites brand. read more

Stay here each year for 2 1/2 weeks for work. Even though its a "dog hotel" and I am not a "dog person" I wasnt bothered at all. We had a 2 bedroom suite which also has a living room with a pullout sofa and a small kitchen - the best parts - 2 bathrooms and 3 TV's- yah! Each morning there is a continental breakfast - I have only been once - but my co-workers love it. On weeknights they offer complimentary snacks and beer and wine. I have never been - but again my co-workers love it. There is a nice pool and outside bbq grills - so guests can grill out - nice touch. The location is kind of strange not too much nearby - however, the Hard Rock Park should be open soon - located next door. I cant wait read more

Hubby and I had a change in vacation plans due to the zika virus epidemic and opted to stay local for our vacation. We chose this place because they are dog friendly. Out first night was great! Breakfast the next morning was good too! Our second night, not so much. We had gotten to our room early that night and all of a sudden there was an invasion of bugs in our bed. I was freaking out and we called the front desk multiple times. NO ANSWER. We went downstairs and told them about our problem and they sent someone immediately. The person they sent informed my husband that they were termites and used a Windex solution to clean the area. Apparently they came from the window. He suggested that we leave the blinds closed and turn the lights off near the bed. He checked the bed to make sure there were no bugs and left. Ok fine... The Windex smell was so strong. We had to leave a few minutes to let the smell subside. We went back inside and I tried to not think about it and wow again I found another small bug which I thought was a bed bug. We called the front desk AGAIN.... NO ANSWER. I ended up calling from my cell and we informed the front desk of the issue. A few moments later the same gentleman returns with new sheets. He stated that it was not a bed bug but he would change our sheets. He had my husband help him put the bed together.... By that time it was almost 11pm. After that night we didn't have any more issues. I informed the front desk and asked that a manager call me. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Otherwise the rest of the hotel is nice. There is plenty of parking. The grounds are very quiet and safe. Like I mentioned previously the breakfast is also good. read more

We started out at another hotel on this trip...obviously a mistake but the good part is that we ended up here. Gary at the front desk was great. He got us checked in early and told me everything I needed to know about the hotel. The room is clean and spacious. We had a king suite overlooking the courtyard pool. The kitchenette had everything we could've needed. Cooktop, fridge, microwave, dishwasher...even a few pots and pans and dishes. Nice desk area, dining area. Having the dog with us, it was great to be placed near the stairwell so we could exit directly to the dog walking area. The beds were very comfortable, and there's lots of channels on the tv when you're ready to relax. The DVD player in the living room kept my boys entertained. The big windows in the room provide natural light, but there are light blocking window treatments to help you sleep past daybreak. The fireplace in the lobby is a cozy touch, especially on these chilly winter days. It's true that the surrounding area is closed down, but Medieval Times is nearby and alive and well. There is plenty to do close by. Coastal Grand Mall, Broadway at the Beach, Market Commons and more are just minutes away. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation. read more
