Spider webs. Peeling wallpaper everywhere. Mold in the shower. Ceiling stains. Wall stains. Filthy a/c unit with broken cover. Toilet conveniently comes with pee stain from previous user, so you don't have to! Only bonus was the secret complimentary underwear dispenser beneath the headboard of one of the beds. Unfortunately, the size and style being offered (looked like tight whities for a 12 year old boy) didn't fit the needs of any of our party, so we left them there. When the manager asked us about our stay as we were leaving, my wife mentioned all of the issues. The manager just shook her head and said, "Wow." Exactly. Wow. Wow, I can't believe that Comfort Suites corporate lets this stuff happen. read more

THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE CLOSED! New arrivals are not acknowledged and check-in was long as we waited with uniformed military personnel for untrained staff to complete a check-out. I was angry before ever speaking to an employee. The room key system failed to open the door. We waited for over two hours in the unairconditioned hallway while a former employee was called in to find a solution. The staff is not hospitality trained nor do they have the authority to solve problems. They are as frustrated as the guests. I urged them to quit. While there the kitchen oven was broken, the guest computer and printer didn't work. If the owner fails to reinvest in this property to bring it to acceptable standards, the place should be closed. Internet is spotty at best, I had to physically walk my laptop to the center of the hotel to get internet access. When I called the front desk to ask if there was an Ethernet port in the room she said she didn't know. I then asked if there was anyway she could find out and she said "Do you see one? Then there probably isn't one." So if you like rude staff and terrible wifi this is the place for you. Also if you're an environmentalist, they use styrofoam plates and bowls. read more

Stayed here for a week in between selling and buying a house. I work from home, therefore was working from the motel. They decided to test all the smoke alarms in the motel and didn't inform the guests. OMG, scared my little dog half to death. Not to mention, I had to leave my room while I was supposed to be working! Also, ants in the bathroom, yuck. read more

Spa room is nice. All experiences with employees have been very pleasant. Cleaning lady did watch us sleepin a bit I guess..she didn't run away screaming. Everyone just gives us this creeepy smile like "we know wut u two were doin" or "wow..he is hot butt naked". I just nod and smile smile and nod. To put it bluntly this place sucks pretty hard. Staff seems indifferent to guest problems. The tv in my room was non functional and the person at the front desk said it might get fixed, but theres no maintenance man ??? No other room available, no kind of accommodation offered at all. The place really is kept up outside to offset is the rooms and the long term people on the property! We got a king size room for three nites! Before I start out on The room. I will start on the back side of the suites! Dog poop on the carpet on the door to the outside was never cleaned for three days that I was there! Parking lot had people living in their van the whole time I was there. Stepping into the room was not that great! The floor was vacuumed but the dirt was still there with grease spots! The bathroom floor was sticky from whatever cleaner they used! The bath was another thing! The shower curtain was too small! It had been re hung two or three times and still falling down. Trash was under the counters in the bathroom. Dust was all over the valance over the curtains and the smoke detector had the battery removed! The wallpaper that was in the bathroom was peeling off the walls. The ceiling was falling down and they had glued it back up to keep it up! Then the last morning we did not even have enough hot water to finish taking showers. I have stayed in a lot of places that were not perfect but this was sad to spend this much money a night to have what we had. I would never recommend this place ever! read more

This is probably the worst of the comfort suites chains...mold in bathroom on the walls. They moved us to a different room and mold in that bathroom with hair in tub this time. Super expensive for mold. Also staff would be outside in the front of the lobby main doors smoking cigarettes. No do not disturb signs so you would be bothered in the early mornings. Very disappointed and the worst of all comfort suites! But the mold is disgusting and the hair!!! read more

I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but my stay at Comfort Suites Clackamas last week deserves attention. Please also note that I have stayed at other Comfort Suites and have been very pleased with their service and cleanliness. This stay was very different than previous experiences at other locations. First off, I was given a room on the first floor that did not have curtains to the outside sidewalk. This lack of privacy had worsened as a large group of people had made a gathering outside my window. When I made my way back to the front desk to ask to change rooms upstairs the clerk was busy with another customer who was upset about his toilet not being able to flush. The indifferent clerk started to tell the other patron that "he was sorry that their toilet was broken, but there was not a maintenance man on duty" and that they could "push whatever is clogging the toilet down with a stick." No alternative accommodations were offered (nor a stick for that matter). As I was waiting at the front lobby to change rooms to an upstairs room, another client cut ahead of me throwing his soiled linens on the counter stating he needed new ones because they were dirty. This same man was seen later outside of his room with a small group of other men who appeared to be "waiting their turn" for whatever or whoever lay inside that bedroom. After changing rooms to the third floor, my key did not work. On the trip down to the lobby, the elevator stopped between floors for two minutes. Upon arrival to the lobby again I explained to the clerk the trouble with the elevator. He was not concerned. The clerk gave me new keys, but now the elevator was broken. The clerk said "yeah that happens sometimes." I was made to walk my luggage up and down the three floors twice, the alternate keys given to me now twice did not work after two trips up and down. Being frustrated I asked to have my money refunded so I could stay elsewhere. The clerk fought with me stating he would fix the elevator and use his master key to open my room. The clerk then took to fixing the elevator by swiftly pushing a few buttons on the control panel. Why did he not do this earlier??! An hour later I was inside my hotel room. I am very disappointed by this stay. I can overlook some flaws in the upkeep-the building is rundown and in need of repair. But the service is not something that cannot be overlooked. And for this price, one should feel safe inside their hotel room. read more

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay it was pretty late and we happened on this place! We checked in and went to use the elevator and there was a sign on it that said out of order but the girl at the front desk told us that it was working now and to go ahead and use it. So we did we get to our room and try to use our key only one worked. So we try to settle in for the night and go to plug our phones and stuff in to charge none of the plugs worked and I needed to go back down stairs but when I come up the elevator no longer works and neither of my room keys. The next morning same thing. I also stop at the front desk and tell them that my keys still aren't working right and the girl tells me that I'm doing it wrong or I must have put it next to my cell phone instead of coming up to see what the problem was. She again gave me another two keys and informed me that we needed to check out at 11:00 I told her we paid for two nights, she apparently had no idea. So back up 3 flights of stairs and guess what I'm locked out of the room because it's now past 11:00 am . Also everything we put in the fridge froze . My husband after the second night had pretty much had it with this place and we decided that we needed to find another place to stay even though we planned on being there 4 nights. So that morning when he took all of our bags down he almost fell down the stairs , I'm not sure what they would have done had they had someone in a wheelchair staying there! The place seemed clean but it really needs a lot of maintenance that the owner doesn't seem to care about and the employees all don't seem to really care either with the exception or the girl who first checked us in I wish I could remember her name it starts with a C and she has blonde hair she was awesome! I personally will never stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

We stayed at this same hotel 4yrs ago, something has drastically changed since than. We booked a block of 13 rooms for a local baseball tournament. Upon first arrival the issues started. Our reservation was canceled. Very unprofessionally handled. Once we did find a room it was filthy. Wall paper hanging off he wall, ants, bathroom was a mess, blood stain on the wall. The entire hotel was a mess, it felt uncomfortable to stay. The name comfort suites is so wrong. Corporate should be aware of the image this location is setting. read more

Looking for a quiet friendly hotel. Don't stay hear. Upon check in I asked the clerk for a quiet room, between her taking phone calls and making reservations. I specifically asked for a room not near an ice machine or elevator. The first room she gave me was right by the ice machine. Walked back to the desk. I explained I needed a quiet room. She stated the ice machine was broken. I asked for a different room anyway because eventually it will get fixed. She put me in a room next to the elevator and a room full of yappy dogs. This hotel fills up fast with good reason. A friendly staff who go the extra step to accommodate. The rooms are a little worn but clean. The breakfast is of the pre-fab type that I don't eat but that is the same with many in this area. The coffee is good. The room was spacious. The WIFI is painfully slow....almost like dial-up speed from the old days. Housekeeping could use a visit from Hotel Impossible. The desk surface was not clean when I checked in. Also the bathroom floor looks like it hasn't been mopped in a while and the stairway needed to be vacuumed. On the positive it is not noisy like other posters have reported. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We were initially given a room that had a person in it already. Next room supposed to be "clean", had visible nasty stains on bed skirts, trash in bathroom, crumbs on bathroom floor and smelled of urine. 3rd room remote for TV did not work, they gave me 3 different ones (I had to come get) that did not work. A person finally came up to room still unable to get the channel changed and it was left at 1 channel and I was told to down load a movie app? Next toilet plugs and almost over flows, called for a plunger and the front desk person brings one then asks me to bring it back down when I'm done!!!??? Are you kidding me? Absolutely absurb, gross and terrible service. Best part, elevator broken. Got to go up and down from 3rd floor with luggage several times attempting to get a working remote. read more

My parents stayed here for my wedding week. It was very quiet which was nice. The tub took 45 minutes to fill half way. Luckily they gave a $20 refund for each night because of that. The cable sucked. WiFi was good. Breakfast in the morning was okay. It is older could use some updates. Only one way into the parking lot which kind of sucks because its right off the highway. It doesn't attract the most safe people. It gave me a creepy vibe when it was dark out. Homeless people left trash everywhere by the fence which doesn't look good for the hotel. read more

As soon as you enter this hotel, it is dirty and HOT. There does not appear to be any air conditioning in the common areas which makes it extremely uncomfortable. After check in, we approached the elevator to go up to the 3rd floor to our room. The elevator was slow and upon entering, made a lot of noise. When the elevator doors opened on the 3rd floor we were overwhelmed by the smell of marijuana. Again, the hall way was very hot and musty. At first glance, our room seemed good but upon closer inspection we found it to be dirty; visible dirt on the floor and mold in the bathroom. We went to the pool and found it to be dark with several lights out in the area. Breakfast is always a consideration when traveling as our son plays baseball and it is important for him to get a good breakfast before leaving for the fields. On Saturday morning, there was no hot breakfast and the other items were in short supply and ran out quickly. Upon our return, we learned that a person in our group had been given a master key to all rooms when the front desk was unable to get a key card to work in their room. Although I know these people, it is EXTREMELY concerning to think that people are given keys that access all rooms in the hotel. This occurred again on Saturday when the people across the hall were given another master key that was confirmed to open all doors. We also had a family in our group that was without a functioning toilet or phone for the majority of their stay. At check out on Sunday, we waited for the elevator on the 3rd floor for 10 minutes before descending the stairs to the lobby with all of our luggage and gear. When we informed the front desk, the only reaction was, "Is it out again?" Overall, this was one of the worst hotels we have every stayed at and we will not be returning or recommending to anyone we know. read more

Our room in the here was very nice. The layout at the entrance is strange. The room door opens in and the bathroom door is perpendicular to the room door and opens out. So you can get in the room with that door open. The wifi here is poor. It was disappointing and frustrating. The pool was very nice but the temp a little on the cool side. I'm not one to complain but I was unable to flush the toilet because the handle was missing, so I had to take off the tank cover to flush it, but I put up with. I put a note to fix the toilet when I left for the day and it wasn't fixed.Then the cleaning staff did not clean my room completely they didn't make my bed or rinse out the coffee pot. Also the faucet and phone in my son's room was not working properly. The only nice thing is front desk staff and my bedding was clean. read more

This is a great hotel! Close to everything and very accommodating staff. The room was very comfortable with warm cozy sheets and pillows, nice quiet heater if needed. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. Great breakfast with pumpkin waffles (yummy). Very nice staff at check in and during stay if you have any questions. I would agree with other reviews, a very quiet hotel for being so close to the freeway. Good choice!!! Close to mall, shops and great restaurants!! I do not even want to give them 1 star, worst experience I've ever encountered staying at a hotel. Each time I left my room the card key wouldn't work to open it, literally every time even after they fixed it. I let the maid come in once, left a $10 tip, and all she did was pick up the towels and make the bed. After spending $580 for three days with a pet, they treated me like a homeless scum. On the night of my last day, my event ended late and I didn't get back to my room till 3 Am, I asked the front desk audit if I could have a late check out I'd pay extra, she said she put a note. My phone rings at 11:30 and I ask if I could check out at 1:00 I didn't mind paying extra, they okay it. I ended up getting out of the room around 1:15 to find they called the cops on me saying I refused to get out of the room. The cop was very nice, loved my Frenchie, and advised me to cancel my card because she was going to charge it because the pizza boxes on the floor and the trash cans were full which he said is ridiculous because there was no physical damage. I check my bank balance, she charged my card $250 twice, a total of $500. I went back in to ask about the charges and the manager, who called the police wouldn't even get up from her chair and come to the desk to cordially speak to me, instead she shouted from her desk it was charged once as a security deposit for the messy room. I called my bank and disputed the charges and they credited me my money back. I don't want anyone else's trip to be ruined by staying at this place, take your money somewhere else!! read more

We have stayed here once before earlier this year and it was fairly good, with friendly staff. The manager was a hoot, but noticed this time that it is under new management. Things look like they are going down hill. Room was dirty looking and smelled like mold, bathroom was gross, and couldn't tell if sheets were clean or not because they were so wrinkled. Pool and hot tub didn't look like they were being taken care of, water was off color and cloudy so we didn't use them. When we checked in the lady at the desk looked like she was higher than a kite and kind of rude. We tried to get a different room but were told it was booked full so couldn't. We will not be coming back to this hotel again and do not recommend. read more

Terrible. We paided extra for a suite with a living room. The room was crowded with oddly matched oversized furniture. My daughter was going to sleep on the pullout couch. We moved the chair to find filth on the carpet and pulled out the couch to see it had not been made. Went to the desk for bedding. Made the bed and when my daughter sat on it she sank to the floor. The night girl lamely told me that they had ordered new furniture but it hadn't come yet. She also told me there were no other rooms so my daughter slept on the floor. The room we were moved to the night was cleaner however we had to give my sister a key because the toilet in her room continued to back up the rest of the weekend. By the time we left it had obviously affected the whole hotel because the lobby toilets were backed up. Only the daytime desk gal seemed to care at all. We were not given a discount even when we contacted the 800#. I realized as we left town and drove past the Motel 6 that it was probably a nicer hotel at half the cost. I feel ripped off and disgusted. read more

So it was terrible from the get go. Check in took 20 minutes because the system was down apparently but the man (Ronald) wasn't very clear about it when I kept asking what was wrong. When I finally got into the hotel room it smelled off which I deduced came from the ant trap that was in the bathroom along with about 50 sugar ants crawling all over the counter. When I went to leave the room and ask for another room downstairs the elevator was not working and went down three flights of stairs to wait in line to talk to Ronald about moving rooms. After about another 20 minutes of failing to help a bunch of ladies from checking in he said the best he could do was take $10 off the room and spray the counter with an "anti ant" spray which was just a hydrogen peroxide cleaner. He went up to the room and I explained the smell, showed him the ants, and showed him the door wouldn't close without readusting it about six times. There were multiple broken things in the room from the heater cover, the faucet, the door, and the tub wouldn't drain well. We used the pool once and the jets in the hot tub were broken, the sauna was broken, and there were no towels and the pool door didn't lock. I ended up getting food poisoning on my trip to Portland and really needed ice when I was severely dehydrated but literally every single one of the 5 ice machines in the building were all apparently broken. The elevator worked intermittently (and when it did work you had to force the door to open at your floor) during my two night stay so we frequently had to use the stairs being on the third floor. My husband and I have used this hotel a lot throughout the past 3 years as he has Army Reserve drills in Clackamas. His unit even used to use the hotel for all the soldiers at once. I will never stay here again and probably will never stay at Comfort Suites again. read more

It felt a little strange checking in to a hotel close to where I live and work, but I was in a house transition and I drive by this place all the time. A good way to really judge a hotel is to stay 10 days! My experience was excellent. Nice hot breakfast (including those big waffles in two flavors) each morning. Great pool, hot tub and little work out room which was plenty for their size. Warm cookies waiting for me every afternoon, my room was spotless every day, with fresh towels and tightly made bed. On Friday night two middle school baseball teams checked in. They were placed in a different part of the hotel from other guests and were well in check (other than they ate a lot at breakfast!) but there was plenty of food for everyone. The other thing I appreciated was that everyone was friendly but not overly. My time and space was respected and everyone went about their business in a very professional way. I would stay here again and plan to recommend it to people coming in for out of town conferences. Oh. and they have certain rooms that allow dogs for an extra fee. I found it funny to look up and see a person and a dog coming down the stairs. Never heard one bark and didn't smell wet dog from the pool ever! Nice touch for some travelers. read more

From the the pool to the hot tub, to the breakfast, hotel staff, and the comfortable room, I really have nothing to complain about. The property is managed pretty well. The staff is very friendly and accommodating which is what really adds to a comfortable stay. The building seems brand new so there isn't any wear and tear like most hotels. Rooms were clean and fairly modern. Hotel in general is small and right next to the freeway. Quiet but not a whole lot within walking distance. Staff was friendly and polite. The pool is a little outdated but seemed clean. Free continental breakfast, and a mini fridge and microwave were included with the basic room. Would stay there again. We had friends that stayed at the Best Western about 5 minutes south on 205 in Oregon city and I probably would have stayed there over comfort suites. Better location with more amenities. read more

I stay at this hotel a couple times per month and the cleanliness, professionalism of the staff and friendly atmosphere make it an easy decision to continue my patronage. When I missed a flight this past week and was stuck in Portland, Angelina came to the rescue by holding a room for me at my regular corporate rate when she could have very well charged me the rack rate because it was the only room they had left. If you're looking for a safe, convenient and comfortable place to stay, I suggest you give them a try. Plus the fresh baked cookies are an added treat! read more
