I needed a one-night stay in Eugene and this hotel fit the bill. The staff was really friendly and the rooms were kept up very well. The shower was really good too - nice pressure. There was plenty of space in the room, including a nice long desk, microwave, and a fridge. Also lots of plugs by the bed. Keep in mind this hotel is a little off the beaten path, so I would not recommend staying here unless you have a car. There's nothing really to walk to, except a Denny's. Taking a star off for a couple of minor things: - We had some initial A/C issues. Staff came up and fixed it quickly. I do wish the A/C units had a constant fan, but the older models don't do that. - Hot tub in the pool area wasn't working well at all. I let staff know and they were on it, but it was not fixed during our stay. Also no towels at the pool, which was surprising. - Only one elevator in the hotel and it's slooow. Keep that in mind if you get a higher up floor - Breakfast is good but crowded and sometimes there is a wait for food. I wish they had more hot plates. My advice is to go to breakfast early if you don't want to wait. Overall I would definitely stay here again (as long as I had a car). read more

What a gem!! Spent nearly a week at this Comfort Inn and mid stay I asked if this was a fairly new venue and the staff told me no, it had been open for about 10 years. Everything is so well kept and the staff are extremely courteous and kind. So far from my other experiences at hotels in similar price range. The breakfast provided as part of my stay was worth visiting every morning. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star review was the shower, not sure if it is a water pressure issue or a shower head issue but the water stream strength exiting the shower head would be a significant challenge for anyone with a full head of hair looking to rinse shampoo from their hair. Lucky for me I am very close to being bald keep up the great work staff!! read more

My partner and I stayed here for a one-night stay and were later charged an additional $300 "Had Dog In Room" fee, bringing the total charge to $387.07 for the stay. No animal was ever observed entering or leaving the room, including when staff approached us outside.. Because we DO NOT own a dog, and thus no dog was present during the stay. We were told the determination was based on a very small amount of hair found in the room. What especially concerned us was that while recovering something that had fallen behind the bed, additional items clearly left by prior guests were visible behind the mattress and bedframe, including an old flip phone, Covid masks, and an aged receipt. These raised concerns for us about the thoroughness of the room's cleaning and the certainty of the accusation being made. We also experienced a toilet that would not properly flush overnight, and the updated receipt later appeared different from the original shown at check-in, adding further confusion to the billing. The staff interaction itself was mostly polite, but the situation has been frustrating and disappointing. We have requested documentation supporting the charge and are currently disputing it through the appropriate channels. I'll update or remove the review if anything changes. read more

Just left this review yesterday but wanted to respond to the hotel managers comments to my review. First off...I tried to check in at 2p NOT noon and was still asked to pay $50. Ridiculous. And he states most hotels use this "fee based" model. Again...false. I have never had a hotel try to charge me $50 to check in one hour early. I am a Hilton Diamond, Marriott Platinum and Hyatt Globalist and stay over 300 nights per year in hotels...heck...I am Choice Gold and never been asked to pay for a one hour check in. The hotel' management's callous reply just reinforces how out of touch they are with their customers -- frankly Choice should look into how they run this brand under their franchise banner. And not once did he address or apologize for my room having a broken toilet and refrigerator...they do not care and you should book elsewhere until they start to care. read more

I just stayed with my mom and teen son to visit the university. It was very close and my mom is picky. If something is not up to standard, I will hear about it and it ruins my stay. But, my mom was very happy. The breakfast was generous, the facilities are clean and the staff work hard to provide great customer service. I was especially impressed with the young front desk concierge. She was very professional and on top of everything. My son liked the gym and we all appreciated the firm mattresses and good pillows. Did not enough my stay. System was down when I came back the 2nd time to try and check in. They charged me twice when I extended my stay plus I got locked out of my room my card would not work any longer and to get it reprogrammed. The breakfast is cool if you are a 9 year old. The location was ideal but that was all. The beds and pillows were hard and very uncomfortable, bed frames stuck out and we injured our legs. The bathroom had some cosmetic damages. The light near the sign in the parking lot was ridiculously bright and bothered us even with the curtains closed up. Noisy side street. As for breakfast, sausage patties were greasy , eggs looked gross, the biscuits were rock hard fruit was spoiled. A pending additional fee was placed on my credit card without me knowing. From check-in to check-out, everything was so nice! I was traveling for work and got told I was staying here, but I'm glad I got to. The hotel has a pool AND spa, a good breakfast at 6:30, the rooms all have killer AC, the shower pressure wasn't AWESOME but for a dude with thin hair it was fine (my wife with thick hair would disagree, however). The receptionists at the front desk were always super nice and seemed genuinely interested in the quality of our stay. Breakfast was overseen by a lovely woman who checked in on everyone and even offered to make to-go boxes. Rapid slide downhill. 1. could not access the free internet. after 6 tries got to the password entry screen but just sat there. other times never found the logon screen. 2. No thermostat in room. On all night unless you get up and change settings. 3. One of the covers on the air conditioner falling off. 4. Upholstery on desk chair peeling off. 5. Wall paper in bathroom peeling off. The prices are reasonable and you get complimentary breakfast--the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that there weren't reusable cutlery and plates available--plus the rooms are very spacious, new and clean. I have an appreciation for this hotel because I was really apprehensive about staying in one due to COVID and the pandemic. I decided to give this place a shot because I was on a road trip north and too tired to continue on. I liked it so much that I ended up staying at it again on my drive back down. This place was extremely clean. Everything smelled freshly washed. I like how all of the furniture and tables were made of materials that could be easily sanitized. They also provided free breakfast in a paper lunch bag (muffin, apple juice, granola bar, fruit). The bed was one of the comfier hotel beds I've stayed in too! 5 stars for customer service! When I went to the front desk to ask for breakfast, the lady at the counter asked me if I was expecting a phone call. I told her I wasn't. She said someone had called for my room number but gave the wrong last name, so she didn't put that person through to my room, so as not to wake me. On my second stay, she even recognized my car from the week before! I felt like a regular already. Side note: Since I was on a road trip, I had a lot of luggage left in my car. I was able to park in plain view of the front desk, which was open 24/7. It was nice not having to worry too much about getting broken into. read more

Absolutely ABSURD costumer service. My husband and I are students in Utah, and we came to Eugene (our hometown) to visit family for the summer. We decided to stay at comfort suites on our first anniversary night, which happened to also be in the summertime. As soon as we walked in, the receptionist looked at our licenses and immediately shut us down because we were "locals". We had already booked this hotel far in advance, and no one had ever told us that locals weren't allowed. We tried to explain that we were college students from Utah and we were visiting locally during our anniversary, but still the receptionist didnt budge. Instead of being helpful and trying to solve this problem, she kept telling us it was OUR problem, and that she couldn't help us. We were devastated. We kept begging them to please help us, because we had done nothing wrong, and all we got in return was "sorry, not my problem." and "sorry, you have to leave now." Luckily a manager was right around the corner, and she heard that we were in distress. After talking with the manager, she waived the policy for us "just this once" and told us not to book hotels locally anymore. Again, we were VISITING our hometown. Not living locally. Stayed here for one night while passing through. Room was clean and comfy. A/C worked beautifully on such a warm day. There was a bit of a drainage issue in the bathtub but other than that, my family and I had a nice stay here. The breakfast fare was to be expected - waffles, cereal, bagels, fruits, hot items (like eggs and sausages), etc. not a very big area but decent enough. Every time I come to Eugene, I stay here. It is a nice place, off the beaten track but still in reach of the freeway and wherever you need to go. There are a couple of things I'd change about breakfast (make the buffet server trays a little hotter and cook the bacon more and that's why I bumped it down one star) but let me tell you why I keep coming here. The rooms are comfy and I feel completely safe here traveling as a female solo and coming in late at night. Oh and speaking of breakfast, just go ahead and put about 3 of those blueberry muffins on your plate. You'll thank me later. I keep coming here because it felt like home the first time I came here. The folks who work here are amazing. Lindsey at the front desk is awesome. She will make you smile and laugh. She is kind and friendly. You feel like you can talk to her about anything and she's also very professional. She is generous and very pleasant all the way around. Once I asked if I could leave my luggage at the desk since it was too early to check in. When I returned, she had already taken my luggage to my room for me and had a big smile. Once she comped me an upgrade to a jet-tub suite after I mentioned I was looking forward to a bubble bath. I mean, she is doing this in a professional manner and is just being amazing as a kind person. There were 2 fellows at the front desk, one who used to work at Olive Garden, and one who is shorter with black glasses, but I haven't seen them on shift lately, and I wish I could remember their names because they did something outstanding for me. I bought a bottle of wine (they have a fridge there to sell it) and mentioned I was desperately watching the Houston Astros playoff games and needed a bottle of wine. Well, they got me my wine bottle and then I asked if they had a bottle opener because I didn't. Well, they didn't. But they said 'hold on' and went in search. Well, they not only found me a wine bottle opener, but they went and got me an honest to goodness glass wine glass. I mean, I was going to drink it out of a plastic cup. They made the Astros win memorable by being so kind. I immediately put this on FB with a photo bragging about these two fellas. Then one stay, I almost ran over the lady with her cart who was cleaning the rooms because I wasn't paying attention. It was totally my fault. We both spent 5 minutes apologizing to each other and then started laughing and had a neat little chat (she was not slacking off her job!) in the elevator. I just love that everyone you meet here is nice. The bed is heavenly. You'll love the pillows. The wifi is fast. A/C and heat is perfect. Fridge is cold. I'm just happy here and you will be too. If you have an oversized vehicle (I have a diesel pickup truck with an extended cab and an 8 foot bed) they will let you park in the gravel right in front rather than maneuver the parking lot which you will *not* be able to maneuver if you have a large vehicle (normal cars are ok). I just felt it was really nice of them to tell me to park there. They didn't have to do that. Each time, before they began to recognize me, they saw the truck and said they had a suggestion of where to park to make it easier for me. Do you see how the staff here is making it the A++++ place it is? I sure hope a manager is reading this, so this is known. I don't find this sort of friendliness in other places, I just don't. There is something special about the team who works here. And remember the blueberry muffins. read more

The room had a living room area, a fridge, a fireplace, and an extra room with the other kind bed. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The free wifi was also surprisingly good. This hotel was a comfortable, quiet gem. Eugene is kind of a hectic little town so it was nice to be tucked away slightly out of downtown in this pretty spot. The rooms were clean and had no bad smells, the front desk worker was nice and helpful and gave us numbers to cab companies to take us into town for dinner. Plenty of parking in their lot, even with a uhaul trailer. The mini-fridges were actually cold and the beds were comfy. Cons: The fitness center could use a little bit of an update, maybe add some smaller weights and a stretching mat, and I wish the rooms had TV channel guide cards but other than that I'd definitely recommend this place! read more

Stop by Eugene, OR on a road trip from Southern California to Vancouver, Canada. This Comfort Suites is ideally located just off the I5 freeway, on a quiet street. It is relatively new. The rooms are large, with 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa. Beds are comfortable. Shower had great water pressure. Room has black out curtains. Free breakfast in the morning included eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, waffles, oatmeal, cold cereal, yogurt, etc. Breakfast room is large, clean, well-stocked. I thought the price could have been a tiny bit lower considering there was a tiny bit of noise from construction, it was pretty empty, and the fact that it wasn't as close to shopping/dining (10 min drive or less)- BUT I'm regretting not booking again this weekend (we booked with our team at another hotel unfortunately). They offer breakfast and the staff there are wonderful, jolly and nice. Specially Michelle. She greets everyone and make sure that people are comfortable and have the stuff that they need. I only stayed one night. I call two weeks before the universe in Oregon football game and all the other hotels were sold out or Way overpriced. They also require a two night minimum. They did not require a two night minimum and they were actually under price compared all the other hotels. What was nice is they also were pretty close to I five which allowed me to get on and off the highway quickly. The room was nice it was a king standard room on third floor. Nothing special but they provided a nice place to sleep and hang out. I had the continental breakfast the next morning which was pretty standard like I said nothing special. Everything was clean and neat and I had no complaints. I would definitely stay here in the future. read more

This location is one of the better examples of the chain, with helpful staff, clean rooms and a quiet night. It appears you can get a selection of beers and varied snacks at the front desk, though I can't confirm that. However, it is a bit out of town if you were expecting walking access to food or business - there is none. You need a car or plan on calling an Uber for everything. Breakfast service was appropriate and had a few nice extras, such as fruit toppings for waffles, etc. They were replacing carpeting on the days we were there (they were innocuous), so they seem to keep it up to date. read more

I showed up here without a reservation, after driving for 9 hours in sweltering heat (my car doesn't have air conditioning -- but that's a story for another time). I felt sweaty and tired, and was hoping for a clean room and clean shower. I don't know Eugene at all, and this is just a stopover on a longer trip, but Yelp came up with the name of this hotel, and I'm so glad it did, because it was exactly what I was looking for: quiet, *spotlessly* clean, friendly, comfortable, with large well-appointed rooms. I'm really happy with it and am considering staying an extra day... Here are some highlights: -- Efficient and friendly check-in -- Spotless and very large room with a well-functioning air conditioning unit -- Comfortable bed -- Very quiet room on a quiet street but right off the highway -- Plenty of fluffy clean towels -- Full breakfast buffet (-- ok, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to it) -- Helpful front desk person who was already able to recommend a good hike for tomorrow, a non-fast food place to have a late dinner tonight, and was able to help me with one or two other small matters This is one of the few affordable hotel rooms that hasn't skeeved me out at least a little, making me wonder what I would find if I shone a black light on the room's surfaces. I would never recommend this place. I stayed here because of the star rating on yelp...seriously reviewers, 4 1/2 stars??? The place is outdated and starting to feel rundown. My room had a big stain above the window, I think something was leaking from above. My a/c only worked intermittently. My fridge froze all of my food so I had to throw it all away. The wifi only worked if my computer was at the desk and was extremely slow. There were LARGE BLACK ANTS in my room.. and apparently the hotel knows about it as my 3y/o daughter found a bug trap behind the curtain. ...and don't eat at the breakfast unless you want to be sick. All of these were brought to the attention of the front desk..who kindly removed $25 from my $350 bill (for two nights -- really?)...less than a 10% discount, it was pretty insulting. also, there is nothing near this hotel but a freeway (if you like listening to traffic), train tracks (if you like falling asleep to train sounds), Denny's and a gas station. Do yourself a favor, stay somewhere else. the stars are for my bed that was comfortable, pillows that were fluffy and the smiles that the cleaning ladies gave as I passed them in the halls. read more

Lady who checked us in was short with me and rude. They place an extra hold on your account of $50 for incidentals. Not a big deal, but normally hotels just request a card on file in case of incidentals and don't hold a deposit. We get checked in, get to our room and there was dried pee left on the toilet seat and the sheets had not been changed. We got back to the hotel at night and had to walk through a group of teens smoking pot directly in front of the door. Our daughter went to pull out the sofa sleeper for bed and the sheets had an extreme amount of crumbs and food from the previous guest that used it. So she folded it back up and just slept on the couch. They will charge an extra $10 if you use sofa sleeper, supposedly for changing sheets after check out. I did let front desk staff know that the bedding needed changed and my daughter was unable to use it due to filth, so fingers crossed they don't charge us the extra money. Would not suggest staying here if you are looking for a clean, pleasant stay. read more

The sales manager made my reservation over the phone and remembered me when I was checking in. He suggested a room on the top floor for me - which was very large and spotlessly clean. Fitness facility was fine - clean and comfortable with working tv. Elliptical, treadmill, and weights. The pool looked nice but I didn't use it. Breakfast was alright - some hot items (eggs, potatoes), yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, pastries. Easy access to the highway but I couldn't hear the highway from my room. I did hear a train whistle at times but that was very low. Bathroom in the room was also nice - and they actually gave a makeup remover pad (something I've never seen at a hotel). I'm a fan of this place, and I'd stay here again. The check-in process didn't take all that long, and in under five minutes, we had our room keys. The room was well-appointed, and easy to find. There was a sitting area, with a comfortable couch, and nice coffee table. I liked the beds; the linens were clean and cozy, and the mattress was luxurious! The air unit functioned well, and kept the room at a comfortable temperature. Carpets weren't an issue, and the bathroom toilet and tub were whiter than snow. The supplied extras (coffee, soap, etc.) were great, and brought the whole experience together.
