I saw some other reviews that said they had soiled towels, that was not the case with me. This room was very clean except it did not have shower soap available. This hotel had a checkout time of 12pm. Pros: - Friendly front staff - Pet friendly hotel - Moderate pricing in the heart of downtown Eugene. A couple blocks away from popular bars and a block away from the concert hall McDonald Theater. - Clean hotel bedroom - Nice amenities like a kitchen sink, big fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher - Checkout at 12 compared to 11 at other hotels Cons: - 1 Elevator rattled loudly and the other had broken lights - 1 of the two treadmills in the gym was not working - My room felt stuffy and there was an initial smell when entering the room read more

The hotel is dingy and dirty. The breakfast bar was disappointing, at best. The room was stocked with the minimal towels per person and only 1 caffeinated coffee pouch for 2 people for 2 days. The room had a bad and stale smell. I think there are better options in the area. read more

We have been staying at this hotel for many years. This hotel has now implemented a parking charge of $15.50 per day. Apparently they have outsourced there parking to a place called parking management. When you check in the front desk informs you that you must scan a QR code outside and pay to park. The hotel website says $14 per day but the firm charges $15.50 per day plus $1.00 service fee to park your car. If you complain to the desk about this the desk tells you to email Parking Management or call them. They "do not answer" their phone and they do not respond to emails. A lot of guests told me they park on the street instead, which is a little dicey given the number of homeless that prowl the streets at night. Unless you are staying just 1 or 2 nights it feels like a rip off to pay $15.50 per night to stay in a non resort hotel. This place has really gone down hill. I could say many other things but I won't because the staff is good, the breakfast is nice, and I like the fact that it is easy to take a nice walk from this location but be prepared because there are many drunken and crazy people walking the streets. Go in the morning early for walks. If it were possible to send feedback to Hilton I would but they have made it very difficult to provide feedback. read more

Where do I begin. First off, be prepared to pay extra for parking. I have stayed in many Home 2 Suites and never had to pay extra to park, not to mention that they didn't have a designated pet area and since they are a pet friendly hotel, they normally do. Also, outside, be prepared for all the homeless and drug addicts running around the streets. It's sad, because the once vibrant downtown is reduced to a typical big city crap hole. Now, the hotel itself. Ugh. Where do I begin? First off, the carpets were absolutely filthy. Now, it could be said that the pets are hard on them, but what else do guests pay the pet fee for? The hotel needs to invest in a high quality shampooer. The overnight staff could then have something to do other than sit around talking. And could someone pick up a broom or a vacuum? The room was awful too. Apparently the housekeeping staff haven't bothered to either clean the shower or restock the body wash in there because there was none and the pinkish slime in the corners left me wondering if I needed to have shower shoes on. Yuk! The bed did not appear to be the typical Hilton bed because it was super uncomfortable. Seemed to be broken down and springy. We barely slept. Someone reset the room clock to a totally crazy time so I didn't even bother to try to figure that out. Again, the carpets in the room were nasty and I didn't walk barefoot in the room. With a hotel that size, they could easily offline a half dozen rooms per week and do deep cleaning and carpet shampooing. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they were short-staffed. As a hospitality manager, I know whenever no effort or care has been taken. One other thing of note, the coffee cup in my room, the one wrapped in cellophane, had other trash in it! Dont ask me why, but that was crazy, and no one put a trash liner back in the bathroom can. It's ALMOST like they just swapped out the towels, grabbed the trash bag in there and walked out. We didn't bother with the breakfast because just the coffee bar alone was filthy. I mean really guys, can't someone rotate around the breakfast area and clean up and wipe things down? It was just absolutely disappointing and we will never visit that Home 2 Suites again. I am not 100% sure, but it seems to be the kind of hotel where homeless and illegal people have been being housed. It was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We spent over $200 for a night so we could go see Bonnie Rait who was amazing but our hotel room was dirty, we had to chase down people for clean sheets, blankets and pillows for the couch bed. Speaking of the couch bed, the mattress is like less than 3 inches thick, there was crumbs and all sorts of grossness under the mattesss when we were setting it up, none of the counters had been wiped down and we're sticky, the microwave had not been cleaned either. When we had looked for breakfast hours we had thought it was for ten and we were mistaken, but that didn't stop the lady serving from talking shit about us while we could still hear them about our stupidity. PETS are allowed, yay! The STAFF is wonderful and will accommodate to any of your needs. They are very friendly. MAID service is only by request, so you won't have the maids knocking on your door daily. The morning CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST is great and plentiful with lots of options. Waffles, fruits, yogurts, cereal juices, milk, and much more - more than I can list here. Coffee is always available in the lobby. The LOBBY has a lot of comfortable seating, a lot of tables and two desk, one computer. The POOL is a lot of fun and available till 10 pm. The GYM has plenty of equipment with two big screen TV's. The LAUNDRY ROOM is available with 2 washers and 2 dryers for free. The ROOMS are very modern. In a suite, you get a kitchenette with a everything you need- silverware, glasses, dishes, coffee cups, can opener, sharp knives, rubber spatula, whisk, bowls, and more. You may request to use an electric 2 burner stove top which comes with a fry pan and small pan. There is a full size microwave, a dishwasher, a 3/4 full size fridge. There is a table that rolls out from under the counter. There's a desk area and chair. There is a lot of storage; cupboards, drawers, and closet. In the closet is an ironing board and laundry basket to use. The window is large and has a day and/or night blind to use. The only thing I don't like about the room, is the window doesn't open for fresh air. The SLEEPER COUCH is comfortable, there's two side tables and lamps, a curtain you can pull to separate the space from the bed(s). This is the best for your buck! Cheaper than other hotels with suites, and has more to offer. LOCATION is great being it's downtown area and in walking distance to a lot, including public transportation. SUGGESTION: Ask for a top floor just in case you get a heavy footed occupant above you. In our two week stay, we've had three (so far) short stay occupants above us that were very heavy footed! I think it was BIGFOOT. We will always ask for a top floor in the future. (Not the hotels fault). read more

I am not going to give 5 stars as we are only staying 1 night & not taking full advantage of all the amenities. This room caters to a longer stay. Full size microwave, dishwasher, sink, apartment size/full size fridge, cups/saucers, plates, ironing board, laundry basket. Partition separating the "living area" from the "bedroom", dining table on wheels, etc. If I were on a business trip, I would stay here. read more

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and had no complaints! The room was updated and spacious, with a sitting area and kitchenette (sink, dishwasher, large "mini" fridge, microwave). It even included, plates, glasses, silverware, and other kitchen items. Staff was nice and accommodating when we had a flight issue. Even though located in downtown Eugene and we were there on a weekend, we had no noise complaints or issues. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. I tried to cancel this hotel reservation three days before check in because my colleague came down with the flu. It was a single night Monday reservation. Because it is apparently graduation at University of Oregon, they informed me that the cancellation policy is two weeks. I tried three different times to speak with people to please ask for flexibility, but apparently the manager Nicole is extremely strict and has no compassion. Why can't people be understanding? Does it serve the manager working for this international corporate hotel chain to be unable to be flexible with guests? The standard policy for every hotel everywhere is at least to have a 48 hour window. This is an instance of a guest falling ill, and they can't be flexible? Is this the policy that Hilton trains its emplyees to have? I will not be staying at Hiltons again. read more

Hotel is in a bad area and lots of homeless around the hot. We do not feel safe and we're really worried about our car. Parking spots are VERY small so if you have a full size truck it is annoying to park. If you bring a dog you will need to walk around the streets. Hotel has no interior courtyard. When we checked in, the person at the front desk warned us that we had to follow the instructions for logging into the free wifi carefully or we might get charged for it. In our room, I tried to go through the instructions, both on my iPhone and my iPad. The instructions did not match up with what was on the screen at all and there were no other options on the screens that came up. I called the front desk and the woman insisted that I must be doing something wrong and I would have to bring my phone to the front desk so she could show me how to do it. Not wanting to go back down to the front desk, I just ended up using my phone as a hot spot and went on with the night. In the morning, I took my iPad down to the front desk, curious to find out what I was doing wrong and how to correct it. The front desk person tried the same things I did, repeatedly, and wasn't able to access the free wifi either. My choices were to join Hilton Honors (no) or pay for it (no). She told me that I could also call the number for AT&T at the bottom of the WiFi instructions. I told her that it was not on me to do all of this work to get wifi that should have been very easy to access (and is at other hotels) and it was BS that this huge hotel chain couldn't deliver on its "free wifi" advertising. I was here for one night for a work event. The room was clean and well appointed but it has issues. The cable for the TV must be reset every time (by unplugging and replugging) you want to watch the TV. I called the front desk and that is what they told me to do. So if I want to have the news on while I'm getting ready, i have to wait five minutes. On top of that, their WIFI is awful to get connected. I only succeeded once and that was after trying for ten minutes. The next morning, I couldn't connect and tried everything but never was successful. Ended up just connecting via my phone. Frustrating. I won't be back. read more

I stayed here for a few nights and had a wonderful time! They were well staffed and everyone working there was friendly, bubbly and chipper. A few times we contacted them with questions and they booked and arranged things for us like a high end concierge service! The rooms were clean, big and comfortable and there's a pull curtain in the middle so my son could have his own private area on the sofa bed at night. The area is great, its walking distance to all the fun stuff downtown. Breakfast was Microwave breakfast sandwiches and omelets and a build your own waffle station with chocolate chips. The mango water is amazing, I must have put down a gallon at breakfast alone. The internet was impossible to get onto but I had good mobile signal and didn't care enough to call down for better directions so I can't attest to whether that was user error. I didnt get a chance to try out the pool but i met a dad with his kid on the elevator and they were both beaming and said it was divine. We didn't have any road noise but it may just have been the part of the hotel we were in. My mom ended up loving it so much she stayed again when she was back in town! read more

The customer experience I had here was completely awful. I booked a room through booking.com for a future date one week in advance. I attempted to cancel this room prior to the visit (5 days before our stay to be exact) and was informed that I would not be getting a refund for my stay. They essentially attempted to steal 284$ from me and my family during these very scary uncertain times. They were not willing to accommodate at all. I spoke with booking.com who attempted to call the hotel for us as well booking.com requested a refund for us as well, only to be told they will not do anything to help their customers. I will never again stay at a Hilton residence. I spoke with the Assistant General Manager Nichole who basically advised we are SOL. read more

I do business in Eugene half a dozen times a year and I have yet to check this property out. I'm a diamond Hilton Honors member and I have my routines! I was pleasantly surprised by the clean and bright space. The staff was very friendly. They gave me a complimentary room upgrade to a one bedroom suite. My only dislikes are the breakfast. Home 2 probably has THE WORST breakfast of any Hilton property. On top of that they only give you 50% points on your stay. I like to reap the benefits of my frequent business travel and 50% points is pretty much a deal breaker for me. You have a beautiful property, but not worth it in my opinion. read more

The Room was Large and clean. The staff as friendly. I'm giving this low marks because we chose it based on being dog friendly. Which they are in that your dog can stay in this hotel. But - there is no place at all to walk the dog for "relief". Additionally the pet fee was 3 times the amount I expected and had I known that upfront I would have chosen another hotel. Home2 Suites is definitely the most vibrant and most colorful of all the Hilton-branded hotels. I've only stayed at one before and it was just a studio style. This time, I opted for the 1-bedroom with living room space that has 2 TVs' (1 in bedroom & 1 in living room). Upon entrance, a sense of comfort and "welcome home" came over me. I just adore the contemporary furnishings and the unique decor. Check-in was a breeze and my family and I were given our keys to relax immediately. If you have a car, don't forget to display your parking pass on your window (yes, parking is free for guests). Our room was at the rear of its hallway, which was nice. The hotel seemed very well built and the walls and floors did not seem thin either; I could not hear neighbors. I was obsessed with the layout of the room and all the amenities it offered. It definitely had the "traveler" in mind. Let's start with the kitchen, which was fully-stocked with dish ware and utensils. In case you need it, a full-size fridge was available along with a microwave and a dishwasher. The desk was spacious and the living room provided plenty of space for the whole family to lounge + there was a sofa pull-out. The bathroom was simple and even had a dispenser for shampoo & body wash; yes, bye-bye to the mini bottles that just go in the trash. Even the bedroom had a full-length mirror, plenty of drawer space and small, door-less closet (for garments to be hung). There was even a basket for dirty laundry. I wish I stayed here a few other nights because it was just so comfortable. Actually, I told my daughter that it was about the same size for an apartment unit in big cities. This was a fully functional space and I enjoyed it very much. For your breakfast enthusiasts... Home2 Suites boasts that they have 400 breakfast combinations. So, go indulge and make a waffle or two. My family and I generally don't eat large breakfasts, but my daughter loves to use the waffle maker because she's now big enough to use it on her own (yup, she can reach it now). You can warm up a breakfast sandwich or have a cup of yogurt. Whatever your heart desires for this morning meal, you can probably make it here. I loved seeing how their breakfast cereals are labeled "sweet", "healthier" and "healthiest". There was a bunch to choose from, so we enjoyed. My favorite part was just lounging in the breakfast area. The chairs are so colorful and comfortable that I felt special for being there. Another + is that check-out is at 12noon! Woooohooo! Feel like cooling off or getting a workout in? Go check out the indoor swimming pool and/or their state-of-the-art gym. I hope to be back at another Home2 Suites soon. read more

I am writing in regards to a recent stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Eugene Downton University Area located at 102 W 11th Ave, Eugene, OR 97401. My wife booked the hotel via Expedia in her name. After I spoke with her I found out it was booked through Expedia and I contacted Hilton Honors customer service number to see if there was still a way to add my Hilton Honors membership number as the booking was initially through a third party. I had a great experience with customer service who spoke to both my wife and I and advised us about booking through a third party, which normally does not allow for earning points. However, the customer service representative was very understanding and helpful and allowed us to add the Hilton Honors membership to the reservation, with the advisement of booking through Hilton on the next occasion to be able to earn points. On March 18, 2022 My wife arrived at the Home2 Suites hotel and attempted to check in. The supervisor named Tina, who was working the front counter told her she could not check in and that only I could check in (My name on the reservation). It seems that when we added my Hilton Honors number it changed the reservation to my name. My wife provided Tina with her original booking through Expedia showing the reservation in her name. My wife also provided her identification showing the same last name as mine, as well as showed Tina the Hilton Honors App signed into our shared account which showed the reservation. Tina still refused to check my wife into the hotel. Tina raised her voice to my wife and began telling her that there were cameras and that everything was being recorded treating my wife as if she was a criminal or committing some kind of fraud for simply attempting to check into her hotel room. Tina told my wife that only, I, could check in and that I would have to be contacted to check in. Tina stated it was Hilton Policy they only allow person with the name on the reservation to check in and would not check my wife into the room. My wife was able to contact me via telephone, on my wife's personal phone and put it on speaker phone with Tina. I spoke to Tina and told her my name and my wife wanted to check into the room. Tina then allowed my wife to check in, but told my wife she would make sure I did not earn any Hilton Honors points for this stay despite the wonderful customer service representative via phone allowing me to use my number. Tina went on to tell my wife she was trying to cut corners and get cheaper prices and earn points and that cutting corners always has a cost. My wife had no idea about the third party booking rule when she made the reservation. My complaint is against Tina and the horrible service we received. I can completely understand if Hilton Policy is that I check into the room, however my wife contacted me via her personal cell phone and put it on speaker phone. There was no way to verify the person on the phone (me) was the one with the reservation. Thus, Tina not only did not follow the policy she was vehemently claiming she was following, but was also rude to my wife, raised her voice at my wife, treated her as if she was attempting to commit some kind of fraud, and was vindictive to try to take away the Hilton Honors points that we already were told we could earn and had paid for with our reservation. I do not recommend anyone stay at this hotel. There are many hotels in the Eugene area. Save yourself a headache and not have to deal with Tina. read more

I can't stand soft beds and soft pillows. The location is great for walking down town Eugene. Access to highways and the rest of the area is reasonable. Prices were best in town and at those prices I would have accepted a touch less in quality. Breakfast was adequate, but the layout caused so many traffic jams I avoided it some mornings. The complimentary computers... nice to have both PC and Mac... but there is so much "protection" and junk in the way that printing a simple document from my gmail was a 30+ minute, multiple changes of computers, hair pulling nightmare. read more

Recently stayed at this hotel for the first time while I was working in Eugene, and I have to say, I didn't love it. I thought it would have been a better experience, considering it was a newer hotel, and I was excited to stay somewhere new. For the price (I think my rate was around $170), I wish I would have stayed at the Hilton hotel about 5 blocks away. I definitely prefer the Hilton hotel to this property. The decor was fine, but my room (specifically the bathroom) was dirty. There was hair in the shower, and I could see that the kitchen area had not been swept. It was also loud, both above me and in the halls. Thin walls... and one main thing that bothered me was that the elevator floor was really dirty. I noticed it when I checked in, and the next day when I checked out, it was even worse. Vacuum the elevator! I told the person working the front desk when I left, but it still left a bad impression. I also didn't love the location downtown. It's a block away from the bus terminal, so there were a lot of homeless people in the blocks surrounding the hotel. I've been to Eugene enough to know that the downtown area has a large homeless population, but I was surprised when I walked 4 blocks from the hotel to get pizza at Sizzle Pie, at how many I encountered. There were police walking around so I felt relatively safe, but it was still uncomfortable. Overall, not a great impression, and at this point, I won't stay there again. We stayed there this last weekend for the Garth Brooks concert. The hotel was understaffed, unprepared and RUDE. Check-in is at 3, we should up at 3, they said rooms will be ready in 30 minutes, took my phone number and said they would call. We went back after 1:45 minutes and rooms were still not ready. Offered a PUBLIC RESTROOM to change and get ready for the concert? Serious?? They knew about the concert 3 months ago. The receptionist would not look me in the eye when I asked for the managers name. There were at least 20-25 people sitting in the lobby waiting for rooms. After my husband started raising his voice in the lobby that he wanted a refund, keys MAGICALLY appeared for a room. They said the room would be comped, and my card was STILL CHARGED. Everything about this stay was dreadful. Mainly the service was terrible. Suggest working on the level of service here at this property. Everyone seemed argumentative about everything specially getting a discount on the room for not getting what we paid for, but just argumentative about everything including housekeeping arguing about their schedules in front of our room. This hotel does not like young adults ( children as the front desk lady called them). With a name like "Home 2" you would assume it would be kid friendly - Nope!! "Children" are not allowed anywhere in the hotel without being accompanied by an adult that is 21 of age or older. I found this out after I got a room key and told my kids to head up stairs to the room. The desk clerk strongly informed me that the "children" can not be alone and that I had to accompany them. Wait, What? They are not toddlers or tweenagers. My 12 "children" (ranging in age from 16 to 20) stay in hotels with me all summer and know proper hotel etiquette, sometimes better than the adults who like to party in their rooms while all we want to do is sleep after working all day. I booked the reservations online (through their main web site) and there was nothing about this policy. Needless to say I cancelled my 5 rooms for 5 nights (approx 5k after taxes) and went to the Marriott residents inn that welcomed all 12 of my kids back with open arms ( they have stayed there for over 6 year). I had to apologize to the hotel manager - it was a friend that suggested I try the "new hotel" as it was closer to our job and my kids could walk to work - bad idea!!!! "Oh" and we made it to the Marriott residents inn just in time for the dinner and social time (beer or wine for adults) That happens every weekday night Now I'm In bed and my young adults are by the outdoor fire pit hanging out. Today I tried to make a reservation and got kicked to Hilton's mega site - which is dysfunctional. FINALLY got transferred to this hotel and was treated (my opinion) rudely - he asked "did I have a question"? , then "Michael" returned my call - he was doing me a favor - yet put me on hold for another call and I gave up. If you want stinky room and indifferent staff, come to this place. We were first thrilled to see this place., which looks so clean, modern and sleek. Once checked into room 347, we discovered that the room had a strong smoking odor. The whole hotel is supposed to be smoke free. When I reported to the staff, they didn't care but was gracious enough to switch us to 447, which had a strong dog pee odor. The whole night was spent in sauseating smell. The next morning, I went to the front desk to inform them about the 2 rooms that have strong odor. The staff didn't even care. If you don't like stinky rooms, avoid 347 and 447. read more
