The housekeeping ladies Esmeralda and Maria were the most hospitable and helpful people we've ever met while traveling. They were always so attentive at the breakfast buffet and then when I brought a pizza from Lou Malnatti's for the folks at home, they helped me package it for the plane ride. Absolute world class service from those two. The rooms were cozy for our large party to stay in while we explored the city with our tour group and everything was always clean and fresh when we got home at the end of the day. I came to this place under the recommendation of my coworkers. I was impressed. I have came back since my first stay and stayed multiple times now. This is easily one of my favorite hotels now in the Chicago area. I don't even mind staying a bit further from town to stay here because the staff has been super friendly, the room is spacious, and the internet is fast. Express check out receipt came under the door at 6am. The one star taking off is for a couple small cons: No wake up call when I had requested for a 6am call earlier in the day.The room I was in had about a 3 inch tear in the carpet, not a big deal but it should be something that they should fix so it doesn't look so bad. There are a bunch of restaurants nearby the hotel as well. I will definitely and have been staying here again. The room was clean and comfortable, but the staff literally have no personality, don't listen and treated me like I was an inconvenience, than a guest. I didn't have a Do Not Disturb sign for my room, so I went to the front desk and inquired about one. Unfortunately, she couldn't find one, so she left a note for the day crew. I came back from work to find that housekeeping went into my room. When I went down and addressed it, the front desk clerk acted like she couldn't understand why I was so upset. Didn't even apologize right off the top either. She proceeds to tell me that the note was in my account and that the housekeepers don't have COVID. That's not the point at all. Clearly they have extremely poor communication in this establishment because housekeeping wasn't even made aware. The rooms were spacious and large. The hotel has a great first appearance with an open swimming pool, however my group endured a moldy bread situation, getting stuck on the elevator and a person in one of our rooms after check in. One room was not cleaned properly with fermented food left in the room. A man still had access to another room we were assigned, we were there with an all girl dance team by the way which is troubling at the thought of an adult man having access to underage girls' hotel room. We stayed Friday through Monday, Saturday the hotel had problems with the elevator. Myself and 3 girls on the dance team got on the elevator and it jolted and dropped before opening on the 2nd floor. We let hotel management know, the on duty manager was Michelle for that shift. Michelle mentioned to me that they were aware of the elevator issues since Friday at noon. However no one in our party was made aware of the issue prior to our experience. We did not check in until after 5:30pm Friday. I had the elevator experience at 8:30 am Saturday. Around 11:30 am Saturday, 2 group members checked in. They were given the room keys and got on the elevator and pressed the 2nd floor, before the elevator door closed Michelle told them they may experience an issue with the elevator jolting but it'll still work. This time it did not. Michelle was no longer at the front desk to respond to the help bell, and the members were stuck in the elevator for several minutes until maintenance rescued them, by means of another member of our party finding maintenance to make the situation known. Thankfully their cell phones still worked in the elevator. Understandably the members were upset and we requested a credit for their room. Michelle made every attempt not to allow us to speak with the general manager about the situation. Her daughter and granddaughter were visiting her at work, saw the situation and threatened to cause bodily harm to our distressed group member. 3 hours later we were able to speak with the general manager Frank, he displayed the disposition that our group had a negative part to play in the situation and that the best he could do was a $60 credit. Our party paid over $2500 to the hotel and was physically threatened by his employee's family member, our children were physically in danger by a strange male having access to their room after check in, and having spent one night in a room that got stinkier by the minute as food fermented, after requesting house keeping to reclean after check in. We did change both rooms , but the trauma remained. Even after all that I still have a positive review for Latonya, seems to be the only person at their front desk that cares about their guests. After I returned to Cleveland, I spoke about the situation to their sales representative Violet, that made the initial arrangements. Violet mentioned to see one more time if Frank could do something before bringing up the situation to the owner. Frank said the best he could do was what he gave. He must mean that's the best he could do without approval, maybe, which indicates he did not think the severity was serious enough to bring up to his higher management. Very bad management. Booked 2 rooms for a birthday sleepover. Stopped in a month prior to party to ensure rooms were next to each other. I was told rooms were blocked for me. When we arrived they only had 2 rooms floors apart. In addition, the pool the girls were looking forward to was closed due to unsanitary conditions. The counter person was unapologetic about all of it and blamed me for not following up well enough. Shocking! All I could do was walk out. Here I had crying kids and a spoiled birthday party. What a dump!!! We will be having the party in two weeks but at a Hilton chain hotel!!!! I have never ever in all my years dealt with such shoddy service and a hotel that did not take care of its amenities to ensure they are available for use. Awful customer service! Tournament we were coming for cancelled due to COVID 19. Call to cancell reservation but since I prepaid they sent me to another number and refused to talk to me. After 45 mins on hold, was offered nothing and then after arguing finally some points which are completely useless to me. Corporate reached out to help and then said nope sorry. If I could rate zero stars, I would. My fiancé and I lasted all of 20 minutes in this "no-tell motel" before we decided to eat the $90 and leave for another hotel. After 13 hours of driving, exhausted, we just wanted a place to sleep so we could get back on the road to head home. Upon check in, you were required to sign off on paperwork promising not to throw parties and what not, which was a tell tale sign that's there's been problems before. To keep this simple, the windows in room were paper thin, and you could hear everything going on outside, which some of the things we heard taking place in the parking lot we're quite unsettling, some very suspicious people and activity taking place right outside the hotel's entrance. Already starting to feel like an unsafe environment. The curtains and carpeting had some, ungodly unknown stains which was unsettling, and areas of the carpeting was not vacuumed, telling me the rooms are not properly cleaned. We've stayed in many motels and hotels, and I also worked in the field for a few years, this is unacceptable for "cleanliness". My fiancé decided to shower, which the water had an, interesting odor. While he was in the shower I started to settle into bed, which felt like a 4inch box spring which was extremely uncomfortable and the springs dug into every spot of your body, it was impossible to get comfortable, and the "blanket" was as thin as the sheet, with no extra in the room. With the shower running, I could hear someone approach a guest room across the hall, knock on the door, and exclaim "okayyy, Here I am". Within 10 minutes you can hear extremely loud sex coming from the same room, WHILE our shower is running, and it was quite clear at this point someone had "ordered" an escort. Mind you this is only at 7:30pm which at this time, we felt so unsafe and unsettled, we took our room keys down to the front desk and explained to the clerk the situation and that we felt uncomfortable and that we would be finding a new hotel, which she dully tried to appoint us to another room, which we declined, as this wouldn't solve any safety, or sanitation concerns. read more

I called this hotel to see if I could get an early check-in because I was driving in from a long distance and was told that I could, and then upon arriving after driving nearly all night, I was then told that whoever I spoke to misunderstood what I wanted and that it was not possible to get a room at that time unless I paid for another night. It was totally ridiculous because I was very clear about when I was arriving and the front desk told me they would take care of me and not to worry, but when I arrived, they were very rude and condescending about it. In addition, when I arrived, no one was working at the front desk and there was a phone that was picked up by someone who sounded like they were sleeping and it took them like 20 minutes to get to the front desk to let me in. Their hair was all disheveled so totally looked like they were sleeping in one of the rooms. I will never stay at this location ever again. read more

My number one judgement criteria when I consider a hotel stay is cleanliness followed by the physical condition of the room. Both were almost perfect during our recent stay. The only exception was that the shower head was broken. I hope they repaired it immediately after I reported it the morning I was leaving. Using the shower was awkward although I was able to get by. The rest of the hotel looked to be in excellent condition too. The breakfast provided was basic but considering the virus restrictions still in place in Illinois perfectly fine. In addtion to the individually packaged cold items you were able to get breakfast sandwiches to microwave by asking at the front desk. The hotel was quiet the night my wife and I were there even though we were on the first floor near both the elevator and the indoor pool. The location next to I-355 was convenient for our travel. The outdoor area where the hotel allowed smoking was too close to the front door. I did smell smoke on the way in but nowhere else. The staff was friendly in all our encounters. read more

Apparently they'd just arrived to set out breakfast, and i'm guessing they're always late bc they weren't hustling at all. Just topping off plasticware, no warm food out, appliances not plugged in, fridges still locked, with a room full of people who are waiting to eat so they can go to work. No plain yogurt, no honey, I dont even know what they eventually put out, its 620 and I had to go. I was there for Valentine's Day. The room was beautiful. But the other people staying were TOO LOUD for 3AM. They were running through the halls, banging on doors, and laughing in the middle of the night. I understand it's a holiday and people are having fun, whatever. But can't someone patrol the halls to make sure that too MUCH isn't going on? I heard yelling. I thought there was a fight. People should know to be more courteous and conscious of others but I guess that's dead and gone. The room was wonderful though, I really appreciated it. My boyfriend thought there could be more to the breakfast but we were thankful for what you had! The pool here is beautiful as well. read more

Beds were dirty, piece of food my mom had to throw out herself from the beds, very unclean, brown stain on covers, crumbs on floor. My parents had tried before to cancel but they would not let us. Tv was in Spanish and didn't work and also the phones (2) didn't work. The man that came in fixed it but was a bit rude talking to them like they r two saying, "ok, and this is how you change the channel, ok? Do you understand? Free cookies at the counter but they are crunchy and kind of stale if u ask me. Free lemon water and there is a popcorn machine but dosent have any popcorn in it, free complimentary games but very expensive snacks. Fitness Center for anybody but kids under the age of 16 have to be with an adult. The pool was ok but there was a dead fly and it was EXTREMELY hot in there, a lightbulb totally blew in the bathroom too, horrible hotel absolute crap. Not coming here again!!! read more

Comfort Suites was not so comforting. First of all, I will begin by saying, it's all my fault for allowing my husband to book this room after our experience last year. However, we were both in need of the benefit of a jacuzzi tub. I don't know where to start... first of all, I had to place a call to the front desk probably not even an hour after being in the suite. A ton of kids were running back and forth through the hallway yelling and screaming and slamming doors. I asked the gentleman at the front desk if he could ask them to stop and he said, oh, they just came from the pool.. ooook. I thought hotels were where ppl relax and sleep, not a playground for unruly kids. Needless to say, this went on for the remainder of the night. The next morning we were awakened by people playing loud music outside of the hotel, in addition to the kids running and slamming doors. Finally, my husband and I could not take it anymore so he went downstairs to speak to the manager that was on duty 9/1/19 @ approx 11am..When my husband came back to the room, he said, "well, checkout is at noon". I was a bit confused so I asked him what the manager said. He said she basically told him there was nothing she could do about the noise and if we wanted to checkout, go ahead. Really!???? No.... "well, let me see what I can do" , no, "would you like for me to move you to another room".. nothing except, either deal with the noise on your 25th wedding anniversary or LEAVE! Which is exactly what we did. This place used to be nice years ago...now, it's nothing more than a ran down, mediocre, ghetto, poorly managed, in need of a room upgrade DUMP! We spent nearly $400 for 2 nights to get some rest and relaxation.. I did not pay to hear kids running in the halls like a herd of elephants and LOUD rap music being played outside of our window. The managers know 0 about hospitality or how to accommodate guests. If you are looking for a low grade place to crash, not bothered by noise and poor customer service, then this is your spot! I've been to MANY hotels in my lifetime, and this place was the worst one yet. Booked a room for New Year's Eve. When we arrived, there were several police cars in front of the building. Sketchy business being conducted, they were there for a while. When we arrived, the front desk lady Patty? was having technical difficulties with the computer, was visibly freaking out, yelling and talking to herself. This continued for HOURS. We waited over TWO HOURS to check in, and to top it off, SHE COULDN'T FIND OUR RESERVATION AND DOUBLE CHARGED US. She had trouble doing mundane tasks, and my boyfriend had to try to help her. We asked her multiple times to just get us a room so we could sleep and she just kept trying to troubleshoot and failing. Completely incompetent staff and worst treatment I have ever received. The front desk lady that came in in the morning was helpful, and confirmed that we had in fact been confirmed for our reservation and gave us a refund for the original amount. We ended up finally getting into our room at 5am and they extended our stay one hour. Pretty stingy for the amount of trouble we went through. read more

Courteous , clean, recommended. Hot tub and pool we're really nice if a bit on the small side. Continental breakfast had a really large selection. room had super comfy bed and the pull out for my son was fine. Oh and kids stay free, gotta love that. Just took a group of 43 high school students here. Rooms are top-notch; really appreciate the extra "suite" space with a pull-out sofa and little lounge area. Very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Violet Banach, the director of sales, is incredibly helpful, flexible and courteous. We were treated well all around. There's also a McDonald's right next door, which was convenient to cure my McNugget craving. Will definitely use again the next time we go to Chicago! read more

Several members of my family stayed here on short notice to attend a funeral. The rooms are a great size, clean, and the handicapped accessible room was perfect for our needs. The staff were wonderful -- they allowed us to use the breakfast/meeting room for informal family gathering so we could be together without being overcrowded in a single room.
