No functional lock on door. Room 404
    Marie S.

I Booked this hotel b/c the website said it was a 8.8/10. Nope!!! When I arrived, my bedding was covered in black ash, and the room had not been vacuumed, because there were feathers, plastic and other debris all over the floor. I asked for housekeeping to clean, & left for the afternoon. Hours later, all they did was pick up obvious trash & try to pick off as much ash from the bed as possible without changing the quilt. So I asked to change rooms, and was moved from the 4th floor to room 622. That's when I realized the other room didn't have a microwave, even though it was advertised and shown in the pic. Only fridge/sink. I was put in the "premium" room, which has the microwave. But there were other repair issues, one being lack of caulking around piping in the shower, so pipes came out from wall. The TV even broke & stopped working, & nobody came to fix it. Finally, personal items were stolen by staff, and I was moved to another room: 404. This was the worst of all. No working wall unit for AC, fan, heat. So the room was humid and hot. No microwave, so I couldn't reheat the food that was in the refrigerator. No lock on the door either! The floor had numerous large indentions, which caused me to trip several times. Each of the 3 rooms were covered in massive stains. Other notable mentions: typically only one person works the lobby area. Meaning they are responsible for front desk, bar, kiosk, and small food area. I waited for over an hour to be checked in while they served drinks to guests at the bar. Ugh. They also do not do any housekeeping unless you requested it! They didn't tell me this, and I was staying for a week. When I did request it, they tried to negotiate me down to only giving me some fresh towels and nothing else. Because of this lack of effort, people pile trash up in the hallway, and it smells! And since you are only given 2 coffee packets, you can't even get this replaced after they are used up, because housekeeping doesn't service the room. There is always a liquid spill in the elevator, and even after reporting it, it was not cleaned up. Don't count on toiletries. They don't provide them. Only a bar of soap, shampoo, conditioner. And they are usually 1/2 used dirty bottles on the counter. In a higher rated hotel, you would typically see more than this. Lotion, shower cap, face wipe, q-tips... nothing like that here. Just nothing. And they would be fresh new bottles. Oh, And the bath towels are very small, thin, rough and hard as a rock. It's like they never heard of fabric softener... or buying a new towel in the last decade. The bathrooms are very dark, and no fans. For the price.... Not worth it. Had to change rooms 3x, got property stolen, and poor service.

Such a great hotel! Definitely staying here next time we're in town. Very clean, modern and the staff is nice. The ease of checking in and out was great too. Parking is good and plenty. There was a complimentary breakfast, but we didn't have time to sit down and eat. Buuuuut, they had breakfast sandwiches ready to grab and go! How great is that?!! #winning Our room was fab! So spacious and nice! Loved the separation from couch/desk and bed, like a mini studio apartment. 1000% sure we'll be staying here again. UPDATE: We've been staying here the past few times we're in town, visiting family, which is at least 2 times a year. Dropping the score because it's not what it used to be, as it relates to the hotel policies. They charged us $90 for checking in at 7a, the day of our actual check-in date. I've never been charged an early check-in fee, at any other hotel. Also, breakfast is no longer included, as you have to purchase a special package, in order to get breakfast. The staff is still really nice, though. But, I think we'll switch back to Double Tree, from now on... at least DT gives you delicious, warm cookies and coffee for free.

Where do I start!?! - bug in my room - blankets ripped - curtain ripped - spots of mold in the shower - my mom had multiple bug bites When I called about the bug they said it was normal. For breakfast one day they had syrup I asked if it contained any maple and I wasn't able to get an answer. Most of the front desk employees were not friendly and I wasn't even asked how my stay was. Terrible wouldn't stay here again.

Me & my husband are Hyatt members so we often stay at Hyatt hotels now I have to say there breakfast is like no other they have cage free brown organic eggs which is perfect for my husband since everything he eats almost is organic or grass fed the customer service is everything you would expect it to be because it is a Hyatt hotel anyone who would stay here will be very pleased , for more of my reviews please check out my old yelp pg Mrs Jackson D.

The front desk personnel were extremely friendly. However that's where it ends. The morning of check out my kids found a finger stick needle used by diabetics to check their blood sugar (on the floor). While making sure we didn't forget anything, I found a used condom wrapper on the side of the bed where my children slept. I'm just disgusted that the cleaners completely overlooked this, and even more upset we slept in this room. Will never stay here again. :(

I stay at a lot of Hyatt place hotels throughout the country. This one has recently been re-done. The Decour is new the paint is fresh the hotel is nice. When I checked in I was greeted right away by the front desk, they quickly got me my room key and asked if I needed them to go over the amenities of the hotel. Very nice and professional. The hotel also sits far off of any major road so for anybody who does not like road noise near their hotel this would be a good option.

    Pet friendly. Nice view!

I really like this local hotel. I stay there because the ARE dog friendly while being clean. Customer service is great, especially the last time we stayed there. There is a buona beef and taco place basically in the same parking lot which is a plus. They have a pool and breakfast in the morning (too early for me tho). Good place to stay.

Nice Hotel. WORST PARK AND FLY PROGRAM IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. This hotel has been constructed very recently. It is clean, well designed, pleasantly high-tech with helpful staff. The pool, fitness room, continental breakfast, and rooms themselves are all above average for the price range. But the only reason I would ever stay in Itasca is because I am flying out of O'Hare. And for this same reason, I will never, ever stay here again. For ten bucks, we upgraded our king room to use the Park and Fly program ($89 total). It sounded like a great deal -- for those ten dollars, you can leave your car in their lot for up to two weeks, and the Hyatt shuttle picks you up and drops you off at O'Hare. The morning drop off went fine. When we got back from our trip at 4pm, we called the desk just after touchdown...and were told we would need to wait 3.5 hours if we wanted to take the shuttle. Apparently, they let other guests book the shuttle for errands, and since you're not allowed to schedule airport pickups, you are @$%& out of luck if someone wants to go shopping. They suggested we pay for a cab, which cost us $55 It seems unethical to charge $10 for a service that doesn't exist. The manager said, in about 7 years, they might have more regular shuttle service. I won't hold my breath.

This was Absolutely a wonderful hotel the Customer service was everything I knew it would be I absolutely do NOT have one bad thing to say about this hotel I loved how the room was set up it was very clean and up to date on everything there was a nice size television in the room which I loved when you cut it on it lite up the whole room I also enjoyed there swimming pool and let's not forget the Complimentary breakfast that was really top notch they offered many different items to fit everyone's diet my husband has been on the keto diet for 2 yrs and they had everything that he could eat being on that kind of diet the thing about there breakfast that I loved the most was they offer cage free eggs that right there sealed the deal for me I've stayed at a lof of top rated and top notch hotel chains and none of them offer cage free eggs I'll definitely be back to Chicago and this will be the hotel I'll be staying at for sure

Otherwise, your view will be of the highway. There are paved walking trails around the lakes, so you can get your miles in and stretch your legs. The rooms have refrigerators, but there are no microwaves. They have a few microwaves available upon request, so ask for one when you check in if you are going to need one. This is a great wedding venue, particularly for Indian weddings, but they also host Western/American weddings. They have both indoor and outdoor spaces, so there are options depending on the weather. Be warned that the hotel is designed around an atrium, so if there is a late night wedding reception, you might hear it in your room. The bar can get CRAZY packed late at night after a wedding reception too. On each of our visits, two weddings were happening at the same time, but they managed it well. Overall, it was a great stay - just make sure you are prepared for some noise if you are staying over a weekend.

When my AC broke earlier this week, I decided to spend a few nights in a hotel while it got serviced. With the Westin being the closest hotel, I chose it for a little "stay-cation". I checked in later in the day (10pm) and got to my room, which was not really cold. I turned down the thermostat and turned up for the fan speed and nothing got colder. I called the front desk, and they said they would send the maintenance person up. About 10 minutes later, the HVAC man came to my room. He took the unit apart and took out an extremely dirty filter and replaced it with a new one. He told me that was likely the issue, and mentioned that my compressor was cold and working well. But also mentioned that there is only one speed on the AC units in the hotel (low) and the three speeds on the thermostat don't do anything. He left and the AC unit never got any colder. The thermostat said 60°, but I don't believe it ever got below 70°-72°. I called to get my room changed and I was told they were all booked. I stayed for two nights and it was fine. Not really fancy, pretty outdated, and just like many other cheaper hotels in the area. The AC never got colder, if you're someone like me who loves the cold AC of a hotel, this Westin is not for you.

Broken remote, and there are limited channels. No option to use any streaming apps. While the air conditioner cooled the room well, it had bright red and blue flashing lights that blinked throughout the night. I reached out after receiving a text from the hotel asking how everything was. The staff member responded promptly, apologized, and said they would have the issues resolved by the end of the day, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, when I returned to my room that evening, the only change that had been made was that a lamp had been added to the empty nightstand. The room had not been cleaned, the sheets with the hairs had not been changed, the toilet still had the same flushing problem, and the other maintenance issues remained. I'm a seasoned traveler, and I don't go anywhere without handy wipes, and I use them in every hotel room and airplane area ever. Before I even take off my coat. So I was ready with my handy wipes. Its just that they don't usually get so visibly dirty. Here they did, on the phone and windowsill. After that I wiped down every surface in the room, usually I just do the phone, remote, restroom area and light switches. Today I took my time and was pretty thorough. But it was a huge room. These are the hotels with a sort of kitchen in them. Pretty nice actually if you plan to stay a while. The fridge is a large one, which is a terrific amenity if you use it. They even provide a cookbook of sorts, which is a very nice touch. But then I found more issues. Lights not plugged in. Cup appeared dirty in cabinet. The extra lock on the door was missing one half of it. Safty anyone? And then my room was moved. To be clear, the man at the desk both when I checked in and when I called down sometime later (more on that below) may be the nicest guy ever, so this is not related to him in any way, unless, I suppose he's the owner of the Extended Stay America Brand, which, presumably, he's not, since he works here. I had been in the room for quite some time, and had actually unpacked and repacked my various bags, since there was so much room in the room to get organized in. I did not think I'd be moving. And then the smoke came in. Not just cigarette smoke. And it was thick. Really think. I did not want to smell like smoke and did not want my luggage to either. So I called down and asked what could be done, and he more or less felt that I would need to move off the floor as the whole floor smelled and it was coming from the vents. So I got "upgraded" he told me as he was helping me move. Totally different floor and wing of the hotel. Bigger bed and a nice reclining chair in the room. Otherwise, its the same idea and layout, just more space. Which is great, and I would totally stay in one of the these hotels for longer than one night. Id make sure it was a non smoking facility though. This room was cleaner, to be transparent. Much actually. And the lock was not broken. And there were no utensils missing in the kitchen cabinets (which I realized was the case in the other room once I saw the second one). Smoking allowed here. Illinois really needs to get with it and make hotels, bars and restaurants etc non smoking. Its so unhealthy for everyone, but us non smokers are forced to be subjected to the smokers decision to be unhealthy. Not really fair, is it? Good beds. Good parking. Easy check-in. Many restaurants in the area, skip the Wendys in front of the hotel and drive a block or two (long blocks, you need to drive) to a large choice of places. Im giving 2 stars because the desk clerk was so nice and pleasant.
